Whenua Animation

[Makuta of Time]

I was watching Mask of Light today, and I look at Whenua, and see that he is not moving at all when they are at the Kini where Hahli is talking. (I noticed it a few years ago, but can't remember when) He did not move, nor appeared to be speaking.

 

Did anyone else catch it?

Well, there's actually a lot of lazy animation errors in the Lego movies. Never caught that one, but one that really bugs me is right after the Skrall are defeated in tLR, there's a part where Mata Nui is watching them run away, and there's a whole group of Skrall in a running animation, but they aren't moving anywhere.

Can't say I noticed that. Any scenes involving the turaga usually distract me when I notice how Nuju;s kanohi looks like a monkey face. But it doesn't surprise me, since Matau Nuju and Whenua were all non-entities in the film. It's a shame, really. Onewa was lucky to get the two speaking lines that he did.On the topic of animation errors, the scene where the Rahkshi attack Ta-Koro, there's one weird bit where one of them breaks through a wall you see two matoran huggle together in fear, and they are REALLY low-poly - the oversaturation of colour in any Ta-Wahi scene doesn't help either.

I've noticed that before, they probably just forgot to animate him at that scene, given the sad unimportance of Whenua in MOL... and frankly, the other movies as well.

I never noticed any of them since I was really young when I saw those movies.

I honestly don't pay attention to these things, so I wouldn't of known.

I don't remember any of them moving in that scene.

Something I notice though was that at the end of Mask of Light, most Matoran are crushed when Makuta collapses the entrance to his lair, and the rest of them all get trapped behind the door to Metru Nui with no way to escape.

Yeah, there was a fair amount of cost-cutting in a lot of the Bionicle movies.
