I'd suggest Mass Effect if you had an Xbox, but with the PS3... well, I guess Final Fantasy could be a good choice, if you don't mind having to wait dozens of hours until the main story begins (from what I've heard, anyway).

ME has a bit of blood and some non-gory zombie like critters, but wow...

My only suggestion is Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. You get to shoot stuff, and the only blood is seen when the bullets actually hit the body. =l
