  1. you know, there was a time when, tier-wise, Jigglypuff was the best character in Melee. (also what xae said)
  2. wait, i'm sorry, who? this whole thing sounds like a load of spoiled milk to me.... (happy birthday, wherever you are)
  3. That is a bit high. Maybe 9-11 GBP (14-17 USD). i'll trust your judgment on this, but i do want to add: the set came out five years ago and it's NIB. i'd think that would merit a higher starting point than the original price?
  4. i'm American, so i don't really know how pounds work, but based on the time of release and the original price i'd say he could get around £12-15 for it.
  5. gotta say, this year's HF sets were actually pretty good - lots of old and new pieces in nice colours, plus those awesome new feet. i did prefer last year's, though. as for the story, it's honestly never been good.
  6. oh boy it's that time again the time when we notice that it's a staffer's birthday and point and laugh because they're old ....no, i kid. as it happens the birthday this time belongs to none other than our resident retired Senior Grump, Janus, and he's turning 27 (which happens to be the same age as the real Grump) so wish him a happy birthday for real because he doesn't deserve to be so grumpy all the time emot-toot.gif
  7. this topic seems rather similar to this one over here....
  8. It ranks up there with the one with the Nazi base on the Moon—at least they were able to make a terrible movie about that. In related (derailed) trains of thought, I cannot see how anyone justifies thinking a site has a political leaning when one of the major tenants of said site is the strict avoidance of any political discussion. I guess some people mistake BZPower's strict policy on disrespect and discrimination (and also its ban on religious discussion) for some kind of political agenda or something. In particular, some people don't like that we respect the LGBTQ community and allow them to express themselves in that regard just like everyone else. you hit the nail right on the head. unfortunately.
  9. hey, this is a neat idea for a topic - i've never seen this kind of thing around BZP before. kinda surprising actually. my plans for the future are [stops] [looks down at hands] [covers face] [slowly sinks to the ground] [lies there curled up in an unmoving ball]
  10. For example: Lego Seinfeld. Comes with laugh track sound brick! what's the deal with Lego???? to name another bad TV show theme: Big Bang Theory. god, i hope that Ideas project doesn't pass.
  11. i play bass guitar too. i know a lot of songs, although i'm probably only a mediocre player. it's definitely a fun instrument, though.
  12. whoa. it finally happened. congratulations :V (also congrats on beating bonesiii to it)
  13. ok i take it back. this one wins (loses?) the topic Most memes aren't something you can exactly get a license for, though. Most memes are public domain. So while they might be a bad idea for a theme, the only ones that would qualify as a licensed theme idea are ones like Grumpy Cat that actually belong to somebody. hm. that's true. ....still doesn't make it any less of a bad idea.
  14. ok i take it back. this one wins (loses?) the topic
  15. this is impressive - looks about as true to the movie as it gets. really, really nice work. i'd love to buy one, but they're a bit too expensive for me at the moment. maybe eventually, though.
  16. Actually, if I remember right, according to the book Brick by Brick, Galidor isn't a licensed theme at all - it was an in-house production. Lego came up with the sets first, and then licensed a TV show to promote the line. I might have got this wrong though - it's been a while since I read the book. not quite. Lego did help fund the show, in addition to making the sets, but didn't create Galidor itself.
  17. for the Olisi, i'd actually change something else as well, such as limit the power to the user. the limitations you described don't really seem to be quite enough for a Noble Mask. That's a good idea. I didn't even spend a minute considering them, just guessed how the powers could be scaled down. ....actually, my idea isn't really that great now that i think about it - essentially it becomes the Mask of Possibilities. oops. this kind of thing becomes a problem when there's a bunch of sets of masks with similar powers.
  18. you know what, fair enough. my bad for misinterpreting your intent. thanks for explaining yourself; i appreciate the sentiment, and your acknowledgement of what i and people like me experience. another thing: i hope you'll begin to act on this realization and be aware of when you may be saying something harmful. i've seen you flip back and forth between harmful and accepting views on a number of issues over the last few months, and it's honestly been kind of confusing. i hope you'll continue to move in the right direction, and be open to guidance from people on the receiving end of oppression.
  19. Oh I think lego can do way worse then "don't hug me I'm scared". And ha good one! what, you thought i was joking? please. (anyway let's keep this on topic)
  20. while your apology as a whole is nice, and appreciated, i'm really not a fan of how in this little bit you're equating being a member of an oppressed and marginalized group (LGBT+) to having hobbies that your family doesn't like.
  21. Well my idea of a bad licensed would be say if lego pursued a license for say "don't hug me I'm scared" imagine that, and really if I was to make a topic were we talk about the worst licensed theme that topic would be filled with one of two responses, galidor or ben 10 (or maybe both). P.S I just realized the mistake I made with the title (let's hope someone fixes that). okay, wow. you did it. you found the worst possible theme idea. also i have to disagree on Galidor - that was by all means Lego's best licensed theme.
  22. for the Olisi, i'd actually change something else as well, such as limit the power to the user. the limitations you described don't really seem to be quite enough for a Noble Mask.
  23. aw, i was expecting this topic to be about the worst licensed themes that Lego has done. ah well. honestly, i can't think of any one licensed theme that would definitely be horrible. even past licensed themes that seemed like really bad ideas at the start ended up yielding nice MOCing pieces. then again, individual pieces are really all i care about when buying sets, so i'm probably not the best judge here, hah.
  24. Vezon really became BIONICLE's poster-child in later years, didn't he? no, just the poster child for Greg's shoddy writing.
  25. i could name literally any character except for Vezon, Teridax, and Takanuva.
