  1. I think there some pretty common ones like blue=female, color=element, Lewa=toa of plant-life. I'll admit, some of the things mentioned here I still thought until reading them. Like Metru Nui being smaller than Mata Nui. Some specifics of me: -I used to think Hydraxon was Axxon in aquatic gear (Hydro + Axxon, and they look similar) -I used to pronounce Lewa as "Lawa" -I thought Bohrok fell from the sky like meteors -I thought 2005 was non-canon as I couldn't figure out where it fits in the timeline. As a presequal, apparently. -I thought 2006 was labeled as "BIONICLE 4", 2007 as "BIONICLE 5" etcetera, following the trend of the movie numbering. -Bohrok Va were the brains of the operation, much like the wise Turaga. Not tiny butler bots. -one of the promotional images for 2008 had a closeup of Lewa's face. I thought the mouth area looked similar to the mouths seen in the films, and this lead me to believe a movie adaptation of the year was in development. -not knowing Takua's blue mask was a fail on his part, I was sure blue was a normal color for Ta-Matoran
  2. Huh, you sure do love comparing franchises. I immediately thought of Tahu in Red Lanterns, with his short temper and all. Lewa could fit in the Green Lanterns I guess. The example that comes to mind is in Beware the Bohrok when he frees himself from the control of the Krana using pure willpower. That and a sharing a bromantic moment with Onua. Gali fits in Blue Lanterns I think. She is hopefull right? Or am I confusing her with Katara from Avatar? Hey there's a comparison for ya
  3. I feel we glossed over the mention of the timer's original function. I have so many questions now. First off, how do you know this Pereki? Second, game developing is a big deal. And keeping up with deadlines is a rare things nowadays in game developing. I don't know how big Templar studios were, but I must wonder how it played out in regards to that. Did they update the timer with every update to the estimated date of the next update, and postponed it accordingly? Or did they set it to count down randomly until they had a date set for their next update? I doubt this as that would make the timer highly unreliable. Third, did the constellations around the Red Star change with each update? Or does the stars prophercise the next stage in the game as the player progresses? I ask this because last I played, I tried using the telescope, thinking it would point to the Koro I should head out to next. But I found that the star positions do not match any of the prophecies etched around the stone base. This, coupled with the new information from Pereki, leads me to believe the whole function of the telescope was a sneak peak at what the next update entailed. And now that the game is complete, the stars point towards a new prophecy yet to be written down by Nixie. A future yet uncertain. An adventure beyond Mata-Nui. So with my questions out of the way, Does this mean that there is no date that can be set? If so that's a shame. A holiday for BIONICLE fans would have been awesome. Ah well.
  4. It does. But life still goes on~ I can't get used to livin' without, livin' without, living without you by my siii~ha~hiiiide I don't want to live alone, oho~ Sometimes I wish I've never been born at all~ *guitar solo*
  5. Granted. You lack however, the motivation to do so. I wish for a licensed Elder Scrolls\Fallout like game for BIONICLE that takes place in G1, that would spark sudden interest in the franchise among young and old alike, jump starting a whole new golden age for BIONICLE popularity. I'd like to see someone corrupt THAT.
  6. They die. In jumps a valiant rescue team, unaware that the previous group has perished.
  7. Akamai Nuva. Edit: I just realized this can be an alternative to Arthaka.
  8. My earliest encounter with bootleg BIONICLE was at a friend's house, where he had a knockoff Toa Whenua Metru. The plastic was very cheap looking, as can be expected, and the inside of his Ruru was dark red. This was many years ago. My only encounter since then, were some super hero, Hero Factory and some Protector knockoffs sold around some super markets and corner shops. I did consider buying some. One upside in them is that I won't, under any circumstances be taking them apart for pieces. Insuring that the model stays as it was. Maybe I should get a couple.
  9. Must....fight...urge...to write...Arth...aka... AKILINI
  10. In MNoG the arch in Onu-Koro involves around lightstones running low, and the need to find new ore veins. Man. Look at that story telling. The lamp to the left, empty and dormant. The matoran, surrounded by torches and candles striking and refusing to mine (I wonder if they are unionized). But in the distance, one miner continues to work. You must go to him to advance the plot. Brilliant.
  11. That little bugger will forever be cannon to me. I'd say take the movie Dume as canon (like this) It was just easier to give him a Meturan torso than a more traditional turaga build. Now that you mention it, yea the turaga in the film are pretty much identical. I personally don't include it in my head canon. I like the uniqueness of each turaga. As far as I'm concerned, there is mostly no ultimate source of canon for BIONICLE. The films could have canon aspects (like fingers) and non-canon aspects (like maybe how when Takua finds the Avohkii he claims the Matoran text on the mask to be a language he never saw before).
  12. I don't know. I personally don't like any much of these theories. Fallen comrade - We know masks can be the shape of other masks, like toa Krakua's Suletu looking like a Hau, and Iruni's Pehkui looking like a Kiril. If a toa wanted to honor a fallen hero that wore a Kaukau, he could easily wear a mask that is much more practical, while having the shape of a Kaukau. Combat advantage - Killing is against the Jedi, errr I mean Toa code. They kill only when if it is a necessity, and even then it is frowned upon. Toa Code Wearing around a mask specifically for the purposes of this murder strategy doesn't make much sense. Would make more sense to have a team member lug it around in their backpack for these specific situations. And besides the code, toa are reluctant to wear the 2008 makuta kanohi because their powers are immoral. Having a Kaukau around for the sole purpose of drowning others (while you are holding them, denying them any chance of escape) is no less immoral. Style - Again, just send your mask to a shop and have it shaped like a Kaukau if you really want to. Eye protection for matoran - Hmmm...idk. I initially didn't like this idea much at all...and I really can't put my finger on why. Its a personal preference thing I guess. I have warmed up to this theory. Its not like it matters what masks matoran wear anyway, and it having a visor or it looking cool is as good a reason as any. Mask of general breathing - I really like this idea, and I wish it was cannon. But the wiki specifically says it is the mask of water breathing. Speaking of which... Guys, nobody pointed out here that according to the Bs01 page, the mask only grants temporary water breathing abilities. Temporary. So I am guessing that like any mask, the length of time you can breath with the mask is correlated to one's mental capacity and focus. Meaning the length of time which you can breath underwater is inconsistent. In theory, one of the many brilliant scientists from any of the many species in the MU could create a breathing apparatus that through excellent engineering and professional craftsmanship, out preform a Kaukau in terms of consistency and maybe even in terms of longevity, that can also be worn over kanohi. This (theoretical, fanon) device would make any Kaukau obsolete. I mean the very canon toa Mahari all had the ability to breath underwater, indefinitely, in addition to their various other kanohi. Do these toa already outclass any Kaukau user? yea if they suddenly need to fight on land they are not. But for the one point that came up here that I think is the definitive answer, is the close proximity, and the abundance of bodies of water. The biggest Kaukau user known to us, Gali, had plenty reason to wear a Kaukau because Ga-Wahi is basically a gulf or a bay. And I am sure that it served her very well during the Rahi War and the hunt for the masks.
  13. Out comes the upcoming King Arthur show. It sounds dreadful. In goes a good show, like Elementary.
  14. I stopped reading once I hit spoilers. Sorry. (I have yet to watch, and have no idea how to watch the animated series) But some of these "similarities" are common in any and all stories. Like number 13. C'mon man. All we need now is for BIONICLE to show up in a team up project like Spidey in Civil War. Dimensions maybe?
