  1. Expecting them to put a GBA slot in the 3DS is like expecting them to put a slot for N64 cartridges on the Wii. The same goes for expecting the Wii U to have Gamecube compatibility. Nintendo's consoles are backwards-compatible with the previous generation of console, not earlier. That's why they make games from two generations ago available to download for a minimal price. Get over it.
  2. Hah, great idea. What is what with the minifig legs on his back? Trans-blue: Yeah, I know. I don't have many Mata blue or tan pieces (and I already had a full-size Mata blue MOC built), so I made do with what I had. Weapon: Glad everyone seems to like it! That piece came from a City set that I didn't even remember I had (probably from my old Brickmaster subscription). I didn't have any Mata blue or tan weapons, and when I saw that piece I had the idea to make a club of sorts out of it. Minifig legs: I put those on in an attempt to bulk up the sides a bit as well as add some more tan to the torso. I don't like how bulky it is either, but it looks a lot better from the front. Thanks for the comments, everyone!
  3. This game would have to take place after WW, I assume, seeing as getting the Master Sword releases Ganondorf. However, at the end of WW, Old Hyrule is flooded completely and destroyed (during WW it was flooded but parts were preserved by large air bubbles). So that wouldn't really work... I'd like to see a game that takes place in the world of WW around the same time that Spirit Tracks takes place in New Hyrule. The Deku Tree has accomplished his goal of uniting all the islands of the Great Sea into one land (or several large continents).
  4. That would be awesome. There should be a game where the parallel universes of WW and TP collide, and Toon Link and Realistic Link team up to save Hyrule. Or something like that.
  5. Apparently there's still a way to get the Star Justice Deputy Badge, too, using this link and then checking you inbox. Also, is there anyone else who was a member before '05 and didn't get the old-timer badge?
  6. Doesn't have a name because I'm terrible at making up names. Suggestions?---------- (Click for larger image) ----- Side Back 1 Back 2 Back Detail Thoughts?
  7. I think Nintendo should make a Legend of Zelda All-Stars done in the style of Super Mario All-Stars, giving updated graphics and slightly tweaked gameplay mechanics to old games such as Zelda 1, Zelda II, A Link to the Past, and Link's Awakening. Or they should make The New Legend of Zelda, in the style of New Super Mario Bros. Who wouldn't love to see another traditional 2D Zelda game?
  8. This looks great all around, especially the legs and the torso. I like the overall sleekness of the design. However, the arms and shoulders could've used a bit more white, or the rest a bit more black. All in all, however, this is an amazing MOC.
  9. Let's see now... [*]Black Phantom: Looks pretty cool, especially compared to past HF main villains. I'm liking the torso, shoulders, and head, as well as the mace. Those legs look awfully familiar, though... [*]Breez: Shoulders look cool, very Samus-esque as others have mentioned. Those swords look awesome; I can't wait to use them in a MOC. Color scheme is also cool, but she could've used some more white on the torso. However, the handcuffs look completely out of place and seem to have no purpose whatsoever, which is made worse by the fact that they're included in each hero set.[*]Evo: No purple?! That was the best part of the original set! How could you give us back purple and then take it away again, LEGO?! I also don't like the asymmetrical arms, which have plagued HF since the beginning. He also doesn't have a weapon other than the thornax launcher, which is on every hero. Not cool. I do like the touch of red brought to the set by the zamor, but that's pretty much the set's only redeeming quality.[*]Furno: Finally, a version of this guy that I actually like! It annoys me that LEGO just won't let this guy go, but whatever. At least there's no Stormer this time around. (Though he was cooler than Furno). Jets are cool, as is the tubing. Decent color scheme, and it looks pretty solid with the exception of the trans-orange armor on the right arm. Once again, no weapon=bad and handcuffs=bad. The armor on the left arm looks odd, but maybe that's just the angle. The spear on the launcher is a nice touch.[*]Jawblade: Epic win. The shark design is very different and very cool. Color scheme is solid. The only thing I don't like about the set is the split jaw - it just looks...odd.[*]Rocka: First off, the helmet. It looks really cool, unlike his original lion head, which was just creepy. Gold is always good, and this set is no exception. Surprisingly, the white hero core doesn't look too bad, though it would have been interesting to see what the set would've looked like with some more white. I like the custom launcher; it almost makes up for the lack of a weapon. Handcuffs are still a problem. The shield looks out-of-place and rather flimsy, but I don't really mind as long as it's trans-lime green. The trans-lime green thornax launcher is cool, too.[*]Splitface: Well, I guess I can't fault the color scheme on this one. Interesting concept, though the red side looks rather disproportionate, what with the huge armor on small armor, and then the completely bare forearm. The gunmetal side looks cool, though. The weapon is neat, too. Probably not a set I'd get, though.[*]Surge: Color scheme is FAIL. There's, what, six colors on this one? Mata blue, lime green, gunmetal, silver, white, yellow... Yep, six, count 'em, six colors, not counting the black base. FAIL. Rather sad, considering that this would've been a decent set if the color scheme was more solid. Mata blue and lime green would've been cool... I also don't like the weapon, it's just a different color of his original weapon, and the design is off-center. This wasn't a problem on his original set, where he held them with the flat of the blade facing out, but the way he's holding it now just looks messed up. And of course there's the ever-present handcuffs. The only redeeming factor is the wiring/tubing, which looks need with the blue center and transparent exterior. Shame, really - Surge was my favorite of the first HF wave.[*]Thornaxx: TEAL! This almost makes up for the lack of purple in Evo. Almost. (I know where you live, LEGO...) EDIT: It's not teal... How could you, LEGO?! Reminiscent of the Nui-Rama of '01, as someone else mentioned. I'm a little iffy on the stickered wings, and the arms seem to be uneven (maybe the angle?), but it doesn't matter, I'm definitely getting it for the teal parts. The color scheme is very good overall, in fact.[*]Toxic Reapa: Oh, yes. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png Awesome, solid color scheme (loving the trans-lime green). Totally symmetrical. Cool helmet. Awesome weapons. The tubing/wiring looks cool, as with Surge. This set's like a dream come true. The only problem is the lack of armor on the lower legs, but that can be easily remedied.Pretty cool wave, overall. By far the best HF wave yet. I'm definitely getting Breez, Thornaxx, and Toxic Reapa. I'll probably get Black Phantom and Jawblade, too.
  10. On a rather random note, I just beat Eox in Phantom Hourglass. Ridiculously easy boss fight as he only has two attacks, both of which are fairly easy to avoid. His dungeon took me awhile, though, because the game kept freezing up when I put my DS into sleep mode. Also, less than a month until SS comes out in Europe! Europe's been getting everything lately. But then, for a while it was Japan and the US getting everything, so it's Europe's turn, I guess.
  11. Well, I'll start by saying that I really like the head design, and the torso looks well-built as well. Very good use of parts; I really like the spines on his back. However, it seems that the MOC is a bit too busy, for lack of a better word, particularly in the waist and legs. There's too many pins and axles exposed, I guess would describe it fairly accurately. Also, it doesn't seem to me that double-jointed legs work well in this MOC. In my opinion, you'd be better served to give him regular legs and focus on making them look more "muscular" as your epic describes him.
  12. Very cool. I like the weapon and general design of the MOC - especially the legs - though I think you could have done more with the shoulders - beef them up a little, add some armor, and this would be even better.
  13. Someone did ask and they said no. IIRC it was a pretty boilerplate legal response. Maybe GregF asked for us? I don't remember what the scenario was exactly, but it was established pretty early on that Lego wasn't OK with the release of the game. If you want I can probably dig up a link. can you dig a link? because when this happened, will make a big difference in this conversationThere were a number of people who sent e-mails and such to LEGO asking about the game. Some were immediately told that it would be flat-out illegal, while others stated that they'd forward the request to people higher-up. As far as I know, no one got a definitive reply from one of the higher-up people, and keep in mind that those who said no were just customer service reps who had likely never even heard of LoMN before and just heard "make LEGO game free to download."
  14. I've just recently started using Google Chrome and it's awesome. Exponentially better than IE, which I used to use.
  15. The last we heard from RQ was that he was working on a secret plan of sorts to allow the game to be made legally available to download. No word yet on how this has progressed during the forum downtime, of course.Aside from asking Lego - who, as the copyright holder, is the only entity who can legally distribute LoMN - for permission, I'm not sure what RedQuark could do.Well, RQ has understandably not revealed details of his plan yet, so there's no real way to judge whether it will work short of waiting for further word from him. As for the programming stuff, members such as JMMB, DJ Reidak, and alpha123 seem convinced that they'll be able to pull this off given enough time. I don't know much about that kind of thing, so I'll leave it up to them to respond if they wish...
  16. The last we heard from RQ was that he was working on a secret plan of sorts to allow the game to be made legally available to download. No word yet on how this has progressed during the forum downtime, of course. Assuming RQ's plan succeeds, it's just as well that we get a head start on figuring out how to alter the game now. This game is full of bugs which will need to be fixed, and this will undoubtedly take a while. Actually, DB has only found one computer which will run the game at all; it requires not only a specific operating system but also a specific graphics card. We aren't too worried about this, though, as there are many programming whizzes on BZP who can figure out compatibility issues given enough time. There was actually a project like this underway before the forums went offline called BIONICLE: Year One. The topic wasn't re-posted yet last I checked, but Sumiki was in charge, contact him if you're interested.
  17. The links don't work...
  18. Oh God yes. That was beautiful. I'd love a full game to look like that.It was truly amazing. I hope they use that graphical style for Wii U Zelda, as it would be a great way to show off just how powerful the system is. And as much as I hate to admit it, a realistic style is the safest way to go. Die-hard fans will play it because it's Zelda, even if they don't like the art style. Non-fans will likely be more open to it and not dismiss it due to having "cartoony" graphics like SS and WW. Shouldn't we want people to get into the series for a reason other than how it looks? I'm not against a realistic art style (even though I do love the styles in WW and SS), but there is so much more to Zelda than just that.I know, but what I meant was that there are unfortunately those people who will dismiss a game because of its graphical style, not paying any attention to the game itself. With a realistic style, those people would be more open to trying the game, and after doing so might even be willing to play other Zelda games with a different style. In other words, by using a realistic style, Zelda can draw in players who refuse to be drawn in by the awesomeness of the game itself. So basically yes, we should want people to be drawn into the Zelda series by more than graphical style, but that simply won't work with everyone. Personally, I love the art style of SS; it's by far my favorite art style in the series.

  20. Yeah, I had some trouble getting the torso to look right on this one. The HF plates were added in an attempt to add some orange to the otherwise all-black torso. I'm currently working on fixing the torso design to allow for some better-placed orange. I'll post an updated picture if it works out properly.
  21. I just wish they had told us how it all ended...
  22. It's amazing that you pulled off such an awesome MOC using an Inika build. I love the armor, and the weapons are cool, too. Also, I notice you reversed the lower leg piece - a rather simple touch, but something I probably never would have thought of. The color scheme is good, too, and mostly consistent (with the exception of the white, which looks fine anyway despite there being so little of it). Great job overall.
  23. Cool. I wanted to do something like this myself at one point, but that red Ruru is ridiculously expensive. Looking at Bricklink right now, there's only four for sale, and the cheapest is $17.49, plus shipping - from Germany. I take it the Ruru was the most difficult piece to obtain?
