  1. IC: Thespian Hark! Another figure approaches! A new arrival like myself? "Art thou new here as well?" I ask this Rahkshi (Holistic), making sure to add flair and poise to my voice.
  2. IC: Hagah Hagah, despite everybody else assembling outside the Pyramid, had been wandering the halls of the pyramid, both to scout the place out and to escape the heat and dryness of the Desert. As he passed by the control room, he was suddenly hit by Kale's wave of... something. "..." Hagah gave a "moo" in confusion. The music... The music... Sure, the wave of something felt warm and happy, but the music... ThE mUSIc!!! "I DON'T LIKE THE MUSIC! MUSIC BAD!" Hagah remembered a time when one of the members of his Hagah team had brought in a trinket from Xia, which played this really repetitive, annoying beat coupled with an honest-to-Makuta grating vocal track. And he was playing it all night, every night... Eventually even his liege lord grew sick of it and demolished the stereo with a blast of shadow. The guardsman who brought the stereo in disappeared soon after. Hagah bellowed loudly and covered his ears even as he galloped away. Away from the music...
  3. From BS01: That bit came from Mata Nui's Guide to Bara Magna, I think.
  4. IC: Dodge-256 256 was holed up in the library again. Xhe was currently reading a fighting manual on the usage of heavy weapons such as maces, hammers, and clubs. All the instructors had said that xhe had an affinity for the spear, but something about the hammer had piqued their interest. Well, whatever had prompted them to learn such a different weapon, they had learned early on that it was a completely different animal. "So the center of balance lies more towards the weighted end of the weapon-yes, I know that already," 256 hissed in the tongue of Rahkshi. "It is very difficult to stop and restart the motion, so it is recommended that momentum is maintained, with frenzied, sweeping, circulsr strikes in quick succession on horizontal and diagonal angles recommended... Don't rely too much on the arms; make use of leg and hip movements... Haft blocking is the only efficient defense; don't try to parry like you would with a sword..." 256 still had some trouble understanding it; maybe xhe just wasn't cut out for it? Xhe really wanted to learn though... Come to think of it, this was the first time in their life they really passionately wanted to do something. Odd. But no time to think of that. Time to practice, and hopefully not crush their face in like last time. Putting the book back, xhe picked up the cylindrical bludgeon lying on the ground, and headed for the gymnasium. Maybe xhe could get some dodging practice in too. ... Wait a minute. This whole situation seemed familiar to them. ... Yes. This was merely a repeat of something that had happened long, long ago. But what was that something? Looking down at the floor, Dodge thought back on their time here. Xhe tried to remember if they had actually done anything of note. The assassination game, the Naming Day rampage, the essay, the trip to Malebrance... All of it seemed so far away. All of it seemed so... "Everything feels so... Intangible..." Distant memories, barely remembered, so forgotten that Dodge could not tell if they had actually happened or if it was some fantasy that their mind had dreamt up. It was as if life was a slide show, with all of the people in it being pictures embedded in its frames, and Dodge was watching each slide go by, one by one. None of it felt real, even though Dodge knew it was real. But even if it was real, did it matter? It didn't have meaning. During their whole time here, Dodge hadn't formed any meaningful connections to anyone. Xhe had simply... Been present. Going back to the slide show analogy, it was like xhe was merely observing the events of somebody else's story, unable to take part in it and make a meaningful impact. Perhaps it was this lack of bonds, this lack of involvement, that made everything that had happened to them seem meaningless. Perhaps this was why their entire life up to this point had been forgotten so easily. And how did xhe feel about this? "The same, as usual," 256 replied to the air, giving the answer xhe always gave. "Ambivalent." IC: Thespian Standing... Standing... Sitting. Thespian had elected to not enter the school just yet. He was now sitting on one of the islands that formed the "bridge" between the Academy and the outside world, looking up towards the heavens. "The sky..."
  5. IC: Kaede Her Willhammer attack had failed. The Vilda Toroshu was still moving. Sighing, Kaede activated her Huna once more and dashed forward towards Ashka and Relisai duo, sword raised above her head, ready to bring down on Relisai's body. Kaede was going in for the kill. She wanted to end this now and forever. IC: Chiyo Emerging from her stance, Chiyo looked around, confused. Where had her mark gone? Did she fail?
  6. Fire rate and muzzle velocity wasn't stated in the mech profile. EDIT: just realized it wasn't stated in my mech profile either... *facepalms* But, where are you getting these stats from?
  7. IC: Yoko Yoko continued to listen, not announcing her presence. Something was fishy with this doctor... Yoko kept her Komau mentally primed. If this were to end in a blast-out...
  8. I specifically pointed out the parts of the article dealing with the effects of explosi- Forget it.
  9. IC: Thespian So, the great hand above wanted to play this game again. So he sent me to this place. What am I supposed to do? ... ... Anyways. I find myself beholding the Causeway leading into the academy. A great structure, magnificent in its form, terrible in its presence, awesome in its size... ... I flew over the Causeway and into the school. The hand above must not be in a writing mood this morning. I promise, I'll deliver better soon. OOC: new arrival! Open for interaction.
  10. IC: Ira Upon seeing Maeloc go down and Fyrua pick up his body and retreat, Ira complied, spraying fire out of his hands as he fell back.
  11. IC: Antiro - Medical Bay Y'know that feeling when, even though you can't see them or hear them or anything like that, you still know that someone's standing behind you? It's a real spooky sixth sense, even more than the one that lets you see dead people, and where I was standing (which was a room full of dead bodies, for the casual reader), it was downright sinister. Half of me didn't even want to turn around for fear of what I would find; it was a fairly irrational fear, I know, seeing as none of the doctors had been killed by an actual weapon (did the Infinite System count as a weapon?).... Still, though. Admit it. You'd be pretty freaked out too. Slowly, I turned around. She was a pale blue Toa, her armour fashioned so that looked like some kind of tuxedo, accented by a top hat and clashing (or not clashing; Baria had always told me that I had the fashion sense of a colour-blind man) gold Komau. A cape swirled behind her, but there was no weapon in her hand so far as I could see. "Who are you?" -Void IC: Yoko"Hiraki Yoko. I was the pilot of the Sky Queen; I was with you in the dome. I assume you were killed by whatever hit us too?" Yoko listened intently to the conversation between Maeus and Dreisen, keeping herself outside of the line of view of anybody inside the Doctor's office.
  12. IC: Kaede As soon as the situation had descended into a slugfest, and as the Vilda Toroshu was attempting to flee, Kaede willhammered this message into her mind, exerting as much mental strength as she could. .:DO. NOT. MOVE.:. IC: Chiyo It seems that Yukie had been wise in directing Chiyo to follow the strangers. The one-armed Menti soon came upon quite a scene, with her mark blasting her older sibling away with a Mindarm blast. Assuming a battlefield meditation stance, Chiyo activated her Sighteye, projecting a tactile illusion at the sellsword. Boiling oil on your skin. Boiling oil on your skin, burn burn burn... OOC: Kaede Willhammer screaming at Relisai, Chiyo using her Sighteye against Ashka
  13. Decided to clean up and make a few changes to my profiles to better reflect how I want to play them in the future. They will be coming one at a time. Starting with Peter: Name: Peter Tyrell Codename: g Age: Biologically, 21. Calendar wise, -65 Gender: Male Faction: Xavier Institute (nominally) Moral Alignment: Lawful Good Powers: Peter possesses the ability to manipulate gravity. He is capable of manipulating gravitons and anti-gravitons to fly and to use gravitons to affect the gravity around objects. Appearance: Looks extremely similar to the movie version of Iceman. Peter has modified his costume quite a bit, in that he has added a metal vest and a cape to his "Spiderman 2099" suit, causing him to look somewhat like the supervillain Graviton. Weapons: Arnis sticks Other items: Future cell phone, holograph projector ring. He is currently trying to build a time machine to get back home. Skills: Undergraduate level knowledge of physics, some skill in engineering. Is currently trying to teach himself how to fight using books and online instructions. Personality: Peter is a person that loves order, loves knowledge, and hates conflict. On the surface, he appears to be a pleasant and amicable, if easily agitated individual. He is almost always very timid, even if he is holding a position of supposed authority, and can be easily swayed to follow the strongest person in the room. As well, any of his attempts to command presence and order people around tend to fall through the floor. Nevertheless, he will often they to do the right thing, if he can find the necessary courage to do so. Deep beneath this friendly and quiet persona, however, lies a hotbed of insecurity and an easily wounded ego. However, Peter is generally too timid to express these feelings outwardly, so he will bottle it up inside. But he can only bottle up so much before he explodes... Weaknesses: He may often not take action because he's afraid that his actions may cause more destruction. Unless he has a clear idea of what's going on (like some guy holding people hostage on top of a tower), he may spend too much time thinking it over. He is also quite ignorant of current events as he did not study hard in history class (though he is currently educating himself on this matter). Also, he may have a bit of trouble using technology from 2012; he considers devices these days to be slow, clunky, and inconvenient. Finally, he is very much a follower and not a leader; he finds it difficult to take charge of and coordinate a group of people unless he has their absolute approval and loyalty. Bio: In the year 2099, Peter Tyrell, a university undergraduate, took an internship at Alchemax, a mega-corporation that practically controlled all of North America. Working as an intern, he was eventually assigned to an unusual project for Alchemax: a portal creation device. One day, while he and his mentors were testing the device, the device malfunctioned. It created a temporal explosion, which sucked Peter in and hurled him into the year 2012, where he found himself lying in the middle of a cornfield. Not exactly sure what had happened, Peter tried to adapt to life in this primitive age while collecting parts for a makeshift replica of the machine used to hurl him back in time. After the Battle of New York, Peter, running out of options, took a job at the Xavier Institute working as a science teacher. After the second Battle of New York, Peter began a secret venture at vigilantism, not telling anybody else at the Institute of his activities.
  14. IC: Yasmin "... I'm wasting my time." Yasmin headed up to the bedroom while thinking on all of the relevant evidence. How was it all connected?
  15. IC: Kaede "So what should we do about her then? We can't just let her walk." Kaede remained in her guard position, weight in the balls of her feet.
  16. IC: Kaede An eyebrow twitched. Would this old just stop talking? "Relisai," Kaede said, making sure that her voice oozed as much open contempt as possible... .:RETURN TO YOUR CELL. IMMEDIATELY.:. The Legion Voice of Kaede's Willhammer would sound in the Vilda Toroshu's mind.
  17. IC: Yoko Yoko never knew what hit her. Yoko KO'd *********** Waking up in the medbay, Yoko quickly noticed all the dead bodies lying around. "... What?" Waking up just in time to see the Toa of Air (Antiro) that had been in the same army as her following a group deeper into the medbay, Yoko followed, trailing the group from behind, eventually reaching the group, which was talking to some Matoran (Mirror Fishers).
  18. So, I thought I'd try and start over. Name: Thespian Variation: Power Scream Level: 2 Gender: Male Gear: Basket-hilted Broadsword Appearance: Basically your run-of-the-mill Power Scream Rahkshi (no staff though). Personality: when he was young, Thespian wanted to be the hero. But he learned early on the true nature of the Makuta and the Rahkshi. And so, Aki learned to play the part of the villain, relinquishing his lofty dreams of being the protagonist. But if he was doomed to play the part of the antagonist whom everybody hated, he was going to make sure that he played that part as well as he could! And so, Thespian plays the part of the noble demon as if he were playing a role on stage, fully embracing the role of the villain, relishing its bitter, unpleasant flavor. If he could never be Macduff, then he would be Macbeth, and he would be the best Macbeth ever. A lover of theater and literature, Thespian can often be seen with a book in his hand, studying the epic tales with intense fervor. This gets to the point where he can sometimes quote lines from the works he has read verbatim, reciting the lines by rote whole simultaneously understanding their deepest meanings. He will sometimes pattern his behavior off of the indivudals he particularly idolizes in these drams (though he takes note to not to repeat the mistakes that lead to their downfalls). Bio: one of the progeny of Antroz, Thespian spent some time being raised by his "father" before being sent off to Corpus. Being "indoctrinated" with the ideals of the Makuta, Thespian was molded into being a model Rahkshi, a servant of the shadows that would never fall into the light (despite his own, long stamped-out inner inclinations towards heroism).
  19. IC: Urashimako Urashimako observed calmly, walking up to Elly's side in case she wasn't alright.
  20. IC: Kaede As more and more people began arriving on the scene, Kaede deactivated her Huna, letting herself be seen. The Hogo guardswoman stared at Relisai with an unforgiving look. Upon Jasik's threat, Kaede inched forward ever so slightly, sword in perfect jodan-no-kamae, as if to goad the Vilda Toroshu back to the prison building from which she had escaped.
  21. IC: Yasmin Yasmin then turned to open the dishwasher.
  22. IC: Yoko "One of my companions once said 'The best definition I have heard of modern warfare is, “Months of boredom punctuated by moments of extreme terror."'. I'm starting to see he was right, though I don't think this will go on for months."
