  1. IC: Sudrec "I'm sorry, but no. I don't have any explosive weapons or anything like that. We might have to do this one-by-one." Sudrec wheeled his mech closer to the building and fired a single shot through the window. "I vould try to stsrtle him, bt no guarantees. Darn illusionists..."
  2. IC: Sudrec "Uh, I'm sorry, but I'm not seeing anything," Sudrec replied over the channel. "Maybe he's hiding in a house again?" IC: Lytrel Lytrel nodded. "Yiu seem to have some experience with organizing yourself, do you? What was your life like before you came here?"
  3. IC: Sudrec Oh, would you just shut up? You're a jerk, you know that? Jerk jerk jerk jerk- Wait. I know that voice. ... Hello. Long time no see, loner bioaugmentation nerd. When did you become a freakin' Psionics drone? Sudrec's mech continued to wait. IC: Lytrel "I'm not sure. I recently checked my personal file (OOC: updated profile); I don't think even the organizers know my name. Or maybe it's my original name t translated into whatever language is spoke here."
  4. IC: Sudrec Likewise, the CHLE rounded the left side of the building... Only to see nothing. There was a very good chance an illusion was involved, however. Sudrec waited, hand gripping the aiming joystick steadily, waiting for any visual cues or for Riss to hear something.
  5. IC: Sudrec "Affirmative; reloading!" The CHLE skated around the left of the building to the area behind it.
  6. IC: Sudrec "WARNING: cockpit block sustaining damage. Structural integrity reduced to 74%." As the Wrath melted back into the sand, causing the bullets fired at it to miss, Sudrec turned around and fired more shots back at his original enemy. Eight, seven, six, five, four...
  7. OOC: ninja'd IC: Sudrec Sudrec sighed as the enemy mech retreated into a building, dodging the laser blasts it sent at him. The CHLE wasn't agile or flexible enough to go follow it inside, and it didn't have any explosives to fox out the mega-Baterra from its hiding hole. Might have to out that one on the back burner... "Never mind Riss; enemy is inaccessible. Temporarily breaking contact - Oh my goodness." As the Wrath rose from the sand, Sudrec stared in awe for a few moments before cursing his own lack of ingenuity. "T-that's, that's, that's..." Sudrec was now feeling very outclassed. Despite the mech's primitive appearance, it was technologically superior to the CHLE by several orders of magnitude. Sudrec felt like a caveman throwing rocks at Marendar; that was how in awe he was. "Argh, why didn't I learn to pilot the advanced models?!" Sudrec screamed (he forgot to turn the mic off for this private tantrum) as his mech skated over to where the Wrath was advancing on the B-Side, opening fire, though keeping an eye on his rear view mirror and taking a very roundabout path so that he could turn around if his previous foe showed his face again. "Twelve, eleven, ten, nine..."
  8. IC: Lytrel Lytrel shook his head. "Most folks around here just call me 'Lytrel'. I'm pretty sure that's not my real name, but I can't remember what that is." IC: Sudrec "Sustaining more damage to torso. Waist motor performance reduced to 79%." This guy's stringing me along like a puppet! As the illusions dissipated and more lasers hit the CHLE's torso, the mech began skating around in an erratic pattern, firing back at the door of the building where the lasers had come from. 17 rounds left on mag, 16, 15, 14, 13 "Uh, Riss? If you're not busy, a little backup? This guy has some illusion power..."
  9. IC: Sudrec The what? A pile of rocks appeared where there weren't any rocks before, with Sudrec narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with them. "How the-" Sudrec spotted the illusion in the image of the enemy mech and stood his own mech back up, swinging with his tonfa- Only for the weapon to pass through the mech. Illusion? This wasn't good. If this enemy was messing with his head...
  10. IC: Sudrec "Sustaining damage to torso area." Sudrec clicked his teeth in frustration as he continued moving around in a zigzag pattern. "I must say, you have a pretty fancy toy there. A Liquid-Metal cockpitless Exosuit with photonic cannons?" This enemy mech probably had the advantage in terms of both durability and ranged power. But could it handle itself up close? The CHLE dropped to all fours and crawled like a maniacal insect on speed towards the Baterra Nui, still firing its rifle (which had been effortlessly mounted onto the shoulder sidearm by the cockpit). "Sorta makes me feel a little outclassed here, piloting this bucket!"
  11. IC: Sudrec Another mech suddenly appeared in the rear-view camera of Sudrec's mech. What- Sudrec rapidly turned the CHLE around, the mech pivoting on its landspinners as the laser blast connected with its torso. "Damage to waist armor sustained. Motors have been exposed but are functioning at normal capacity." Waisting no time, Sudrec kicked the CHLE into high gear. The CHLE sped off before going into reverse, facing the new mech (Baterra Nui) as it dashed away from it in a reverse zig-zag pattern. Targeting, targeting... Five shots per second. Three hundred per minute. Each bullet capable of traveling at over 800 meters per second. Armor penetration... I don't remember the specifics. But it wilL be EnOuGh to DESTROY tHIs mAN. One shot. Two, three, four, five. Five 30mm bullets flew down range straight for the Baterra Nui. As the hot lead left the barrel of the rifle, the CHLE began moving in a circling pattern around its new foe.
  12. IC: Lytrel "... I'm not sure myself. I know my planet's called 'Tierra' in some other language, and I come from Something-York... But that's pretty much it." Lytrel stuffed even more pizza into his mouth. "Yeah, amnesia."
  13. IC: Lytrel "... I'm assuming that's a place, in which case: no."
  14. IC: Lytrel "I feel you. Not sure what half of what you said meant, but I share your pain." *munch*
  15. IC: Chiyo Chiyo took a seat in one of the chairs provided. "The meeting went well enough." Chiyo transmitted her memory of the conversation to her mother over Ideatalk.
  16. IC: Lytrel Lytrel shrugged. "I dunno. They can get pretty wild with their selection, apparently. Oh, and the Host is absolutely cuckoo, and the other host is one of a <insert long string of curses here> mega-######. Don't expect sanity from them." Lytrel sighed and ate more pizza.
  17. IC: Lytrel "Hm?" Lytrel turned to look at the person who called out to him. I don't recognize this guy... They're still bringing people in? MONSTER. "Um, well... *munch munch*, you could call this a fighting tournament. You know what gladiators are?" *munch munch* "... Well, we've all been drafted into being gladiators. It sucks. You get resurrected if you die in the arena, so that's a bonus. But it still sucks ######."
  18. IC: Sudrec "Huh? Seeing Riss turn around and begin shooting at a building, Sudrec set his mech back upright and aimed his rifle at the building. "Should I flank whatever's behind there, or should I wait?" IC: Eryard Another figure appeared (Galaxia Eternis). Hopefully I could actually do damage to this one, and it didn't have any weird powers. I fired off several force blasts at the figure in the distance, speeding towards it. IC: Yoko A new enemy (Irvine) had entered the city, too close for Yoko's comfort. She attempted to sneak into a tughter alleyway where it wouldn't follow. OOC: Sudrec preparing to attack Virse, Eryard attacking Galaxia, Yoko trying to sneak past Langmuir
  19. IC: Chiyo Soon, Chiyo arrived in the chambers of the Plangori Toroshu. "Plangori-dono," Chiyo addressed her mother, kneeling on the ground, eyes looking downwards and not meeting the eyes of her superior.
  20. IC: Lytrel "... Oof. These are heavy." Of course, he had asked for them to be heavy. After his return to the arena, Lytrel had done some reflecting on things. He realized that he actually didn't know how to use a spear that well, and given his, uh... Tantrums in the past few... Uh, days? He didn't know how much time had passed in those tunnels. Anyways, he found that a bludgeoning weapon might be better for him. So he had requested a change of weapons, and that change was granted. The spear he had brought with him had been turned in, with two metal batons replacing the long weapon. They were too heavy to use effectively without his Pakari, but that had kinda been the point of the weapon. "Yes..." So why had he chosen this specific shape? Well... There had been an art form on Tierra called "Arnis" or alternatively "Eskrima". He couldn't remember the exact details, but he did recall it had an emphasis on double stick combat. Some rummaging around in the knowledge sector had given him some pointers on this universe's equivalent of the form. "This feels familiar..." Did he learn portions of the art while young? He didn't remember, and he probably never woukd. But the sticks felt much better in his hands than the spear did, and that was good. With that order of business finished, he went up to the commercial sector. Arriving in the food court, he ordered a massive order of pizza. He hadn't eaten in days. Or maybe he wasn't just hungry, but was taking some form of solace in the excess of food? Binge eating was a way of stress relief after all, though not a good one by any means... OOC: Lytrel open for interaction
  21. IC: Kaede There they were. One of her fellow Guardswomen was confronting two Menti - almost certainly Arsix and Relisai. Still cloaked, Kaede hung back, waiting for the fight to begin; then she could slip in and strike.
  22. IC: Sudrec Eventually Sudrec came across what looked like an open field. "Switching drive mode to insect form," and the mech dropped down onto all fours to lower its profile. "I don't see anything here either..." IC: Minami Minami slowly started to wake up.
  23. @re: elements: my issue was more that it seemed that the elements had been unevenly nerfed, with stuff like sonics and psionics not being touched at all, while elements like iron and plant control were severely punished. A blanket nerf would probably be better than the specific restriction of "can't make matter" because some elements don't deal with matter in the first place.
  24. My commentary isn't going to be as extensive as Voltex's, but I'm going to post it anyways (mostly due to the fact that most of my questions are different than his). Commentary in red: Wasn't sure where to out this note: there's next to no info on the specifics of the Shadows. What do they look like? What are their powers? Stuff like that would be helpful to know.
  25. I dunno. Those wing pawns are far away from the action and have the rook to support them. If you know what you're doing, Black's A-Pawn has a 65.91% Chance of Survival. Carth has the short end of the stick though 28.21% Chance of Survival.
