  1. (Turns out that this is just an entire coincidence and LEGO never meant for the runes to mean anything... ) But really though, props (does anyone even say 'props' anymore lol) to everyone who figured this out. It's really impressive that you managed to translate it (and even more so that you noticed it in the first place) Good Job! *Rubs hands together Now, lets go and learn a new language
  2. Wow, after 8 years, Bionicle's biggest mystery has finally been solved: how to actually use the squid launcher Now all we need to do is find a cure for G.P.S. ((Lime) Green Plastic Syndrome)...
  3. I'm kinda upset that the Protectors don't have the same names as the Turaga, but at the same time, I was kinda expecting them to have different names as well. So... eh?
  4. Six thingymabobs land on island: T:"Yo! No idea what's happening!" P:"Don't worry 'bout it. Just let us tell you what to do..." T:"k"
  5. Okay, I think I know what you're talking about with the Onua wearing a Ruru. It's from a Chinese and/or Korean line of Bionicle 'knockoffs' called Maskers. I can't put any pictures into my post because... I dunno, BZP reasons I guess , but if you type into Google 'bionicle knockoffs masker', you should see an image that has Kopaka, Lewa, the Onua guy (presumably the one you were talking about), a Pohatu-ish guy, and the Kal. Also, in reference to those combiners you referenced, if you go to YouTube, and type in 'bionicle knockoffs judge trua', you should see a review of said set, and at about the 2:30 mark, you can see 3 combiners on the back of the box. Admittedly though, you can't see them that well, and they're kind of blurry, but they are there. So yeah, just my 5 cents in this conversation...
  6. Yeah, I still pronounce Jaller as, well, Jall-er, not Ja-la. I also used to call Hewkii Hue-wii-kii (Hewekii) up until about two years ago. I also still pronounce Ehlek as Ee-leck instead of Ay-leck, Kirop as Ky-rop instead of Kee-rop, Chirox as Chi-rox instead of Kee-rocks... I dunno, I guess as a kid I had a hard time with pronouncing the names of the 2006/2007/2008 guys...
  7. Well, from when I first read his name in City of the Lost (2007) up until about a year ago (2013/2014), I thought that Defilak's name was Deflika.... There's a few other pronunciations too, like Reidak (Ree-dak instead of Ray-dak), Lewa (Lee-wa instead of Lay-wa), and probably a few other names that I don't even realize I'm screwing up... Also, how are you supposed to pronounce Av-Matoran, specifically the Av part? I've always just separated the two letters (A-V -Matoran), but I feel like it's supposed to be actually pronounced Ahv- Matoran. And along those lines, for some reason I pronounce Onu-Matoran as Uno-Matoran...
  8. Very nice list! I especially like the idea of prototype Makuta. Here are a couple of ideas that I have: Tracker: I've headcanoned him as being a Vortixx who was mutated by Roodaka because he blocked her ascension into some sort of higher political standing, and was subsequently exiled due to his mutation/Roodaka's higher standing. (I don't really have any evidence supporting this theory other than they (Tracker and Roodaka) look marginally similar... and I like the headcanon ) OoMN Giant 4-armed Brute: I think he could fall in with Nocturn's species since, well, 4 arms and giant fit in with what we know about Nocturn's species. (Perhaps he was picked up by Order agents when they went to do some sort of damage analysis on his island after Nocturn destroyed it ) In regards to merging TSO and Tyrant's species, I'm for it. However, if I could just add, maybe there are two different species on the island (one is a subspecies of the other), where Ancient, Lurker, Guardian, and Tyrant are some kind of common species, while TSO's species is a type of ruling class, the warlords of the island(for the most part anyway). Also, if I may suggest: I would add Hydraxon to Carapar's species (and no, it's not because Axonn and Hydraxon have similar names). My reasoning is that they are both very heavily armored, tall(er than a Toa), and both have the ability to wear Kanohi (then again, both Carapar and Sidorak's species have that ability, so that's actually kinda worthless evidence on my part...). And, with what we know ... I just had a revelation mid-sentence. All of the Barraki species were created by Mata Nui, and both Hydraxon and Axonn both worked for the Hand of Artakha, and since the Hand operated before Mata Nui awoke, they couldn't possibly be apart of Carapar's species... so maybe make them their own species? (I just don't see Hydraxon as being the same species as Sidorak and Brutaka, since they seemingly have little armor and are a thin and tall species, while Hydraxon is short(er than them), and not very thin at all...)
  9. Well, in relation to the M.U. eyes, Gelu describes Orde's in The Yesterday Quest as: (Emphasis mine.) So...yeah, I guess that they're mechanical, unless there's organic eyes/stuff behind the (for lack of a better term) 'eye screen' Still no idea about the scope though...
  10. The very last entry of Takanuva's Blog mentioned that a group of Ta-Matoran had escaped from Teridax controlled Metru Nui, were travelling to Mata Nui, and were supposed to send word back, but never did. Greg later confirmed that these Matoran had died.
  11. Just a few others that I thought I'd add for completionist* sake : Revived: Toa: Most (all?) Toa at the Makoki Stone Guard Fortress that were killed by Frostelus (aside for Lhikan), apparently a team of Toa on the Northern Continent killed off for a D.H. plot** One Vortixx killed by the Shadowed One Deceased: Shadow Takanuva: Most were killed when Destral was invaded by the OoMN, three were killed by Alt. Teridax Matoran: Several jumped into a pool of Energized Protodermis and died; only Firedracax survived Anyone or anything who knew the location of Artakha, including Rahkshi, Visorak, and Exo-Toa Visorak: About 50 electrocuted by Chiara Other: The first Visorak assault wave on the island of Artahka, incinerated by Crystal Serpents Many Rahkshi killed during the said assault on Artakha Many Exo-Toa destroyed by Norik and Iruni during the Raid of Destral All Fohrak were destroyed by Teridax's Toa Hagah Victims of the Archives Massacre *is that even a real word? ** I have no idea where this came from, so if someone could please source it, I'd be happy
  12. Chromedome x Rewind for life! Also... Kopaka x Nikila (it makes sense in my headcanon 'cuz they met up in the Red Star and stuff...yeah...)
  13. Already got those Matoran in my first post Although, I've done some thinking, and there are a few others that could be added: A Visorak (Suukorak?) killed by Thok on Voya Nui An entire heard of Kikanalo annihilated by Hakann on Voya Nui An entire island full of rare Rahi that was blown up by the Vortixx The Mountain Many members of Tobduk's species, wiped out by the Visorak All members of Keetongu's species (aside from Keetongu), wiped out by the Visorak All members of Krahka's species (aside from Krahka), wiped out by the Visorak Many members of Poison's species, wiped out by the Matoran The Toa who first wore the Ignika Annona A Skakdi killed by Pridak Krekka's species: six killed by Gladiator, seven drowned by Takadox Also, if we are counting robot destruction as deaths: Exo-Toa: one destroyed by Mutran, six destroyed by the Bohrok-Kal, and 12 crushed by Onua Maxilos: one that was possessed by Teridax and later destroyed by the Barraki and their armies (possibly one more that was eaten by a Shallows Cat) Two ginormous robots: one crumbled to dust, the other got mooned
  14. What about fusions like Prototype, the Hordika Dragons, the Protocairns, or the Golden-Skinned Fusion? What I mean is, how do we count the components of these fusions? Alive, dead, or something else? Also, what about the Av-Matoran who've turned into Bohrok? How should they count? (Personally, I'd just call them zombies, since, well, their bodies continue to live on, but their minds/essences/'souls'/whatever are gone.)
  15. (Kapura'd) It came from 'Bionicle: Mata Nui's Guide to Bara Magna', where it was mentioned that one time and then probably never mentioned again in the main storyline. I just remembered it off hand. Which reminds me, that book also mentioned that, right before the Shattering, Tarix was leading a patrol with Kiina and several others, and were trapped in the desert for a considerable amount of time, during which several members of the patrol died. Tidbits, they always some in handy. Okay, a bit harder to answer, just 'cause I'm not too sure myself about those statistics either. ... But what the heck ,I'll wing it: So, off the top of my head, some rahi that have died would be: the Red Serpent from the Maze of Shadows (and, indeed, most rahi that were in the maze (again, not sure how many or what they were)), several Razor Whales that were killed by Nocturn throughout his lifetime (no actual numbers I think) (also, that reminds me of more deaths: all of the inhabitants of Nocturn's island that died when he split his island in two), a brood of sea squid that Mantax ate (however many is in a brood, I have no idea), at least one sea squid eaten by Takadox, many rahi that died when Voya Nui left and returned to the M.U. (also, that reminds me once more: all the Matoran that died when Voya Nui first left the M.U., and then when Mahri Nui sank beneath the waves), like I previously said, any rahi caught up in the energy storms... probably some more that I'm forgetting. Visorak: the OoMN killed the entire species with a volcanic eruption on the island of Artidax. But Great Spirit Teridax recreated the species, so yeah... Vahki: All Vahki were destroyed either during the Great Cataclysm due to an energy surge, or by the Visorak after the G.C. (although I could have sworn that I heard that at least some Vahki were stolen by the Dark Hunters, but I don't know if this is true..) Rahkshi: Welp, a bit tougher, but doable. Staring off, I think that all six Rahkshi shells from the island of Mata Nui were destroyed/turned into the Ussanui, so there's that. As for the kraata from those rahkshi, I'm not sure. At least one made it back to Mangaia. Now, just after the G.C., all the surviving rahkshi in Metru Nui were aged to dust by Voporak, and during the OoMN/BoM War, the beach of Nynrah was littered with broken pieces of rahkshi, so someone can try and figure how many rahkshi it takes to litter a beach. Then of course there was Golden Armor Tahu, who annihilated all kraata on Bara Magna, but not(?) the rahkshi shells, which were mainly heat vision rahkshi, but also included a few others, like at least one quick healing rahkshi. Bohrok: welp, at least one bohrok (a Gahlok) was turned into a Boxor (how many Boxors were actually made from Bohrok? Is there any sort of indication?), um... several Bohrok and Bohrok Va were probably destroyed during the Bohrok Wars(no idea how many), and their krana were all collected and put into pits, where they were eventually freed by the reawakened Bohrok swarms, and returned to the nests. In between that time (end of the Bohrok Wars and appearance of the Kal), the bohrok were reprogrammed by the Matoran to serve them, although they too returned to the nest eventually (except for those Tahnok that are in space...) Bohrok-Kal: all the kal were effectively killed by their own powers, so there's that. As for the Krana-Kal, those that weren't inside that Kal at their defeat are probably still somewhere... Zyglak: Several zyglak were killed by Ehlek's species Dark Hunters: several D.H.'s were killed by Skakdi when they were fleeing the above mentioned Zyglak That's all that I can think of for now, but of course, anyone feel free to correct me or add to my list.
  16. Revived: Botar Gaardus Guardian (Original) Hydraxon Ihu Jaller Jovan Lhikan Mavrah Nocturn One Ga-Matoran drowned by Tuyet All the Nynrah Ghosts who created Gaardus All the Nynrah Ghosts that created the Fohrak Many Toa of Iron and Magnetism Possibly Toa of Plasma, Sonics, and Gravity killed by Zaktan, Avak or Hakann, and Lariska respectively Possibly several Toa of Water killed by Hakann Possibly several non-Norik's team Toa Hagah killed by the Makuta Possibly a Toa travelling to Karzahni who wore a Suletu Possibly a Toa allegedly killed by Charger Deceased: All Makuta minus Miserix (so 99 Makuta) Ancient Carapar Certavus Karzahni(Being) Kodan Krekka Lein Matoro Naho, Nidhiki, and other all Toa Mangai minus Tuyet and Lhikan (so 9) Nikila and all other Toa Cordak minus Lesovikk (so 7) Reysa Sidorak Telluris Tren Krom A couple Matoran who fell into a volcano on Voya Nui Two Fire Tribe Glatorian A Fire and Jungle Glatorian in the Core Processor Many Glatorian in the Jungle of Blades Many members of the Iron Tribe Over a thousand Ice Agori (accidently) killed by Vastus A Le-Matoran killed by Tuyet A Ta-Matoran killed by Tuyet Many Glatorian and most(?) 17. Nidhiki x Lariska (c'mon) Nidhiki x Naho (eh, I just like the idea of it) Lhikan x Tuyet (reread T.M.D.o.T.T. and tell me they didn't have a thing) Dume x Helryx (I mean.. I just... I...I'm weird.. okay?...please?) Lesovikk x Nikila (such a tragic love story) Hewkii x Macku (duh) T.S.O. x Varian (it's a very... obsessive relationship) Hahnah x Jaller (that crab is so cute)
  18. Not to derail the Pahrak-Kal conversation, but could someone clarify to me about what happened to the Krana-Kal? I know that at least some of them were able to escape from their shells before their destruction, but did all of them? And what about the other 30 or so Krana-Kal that weren't in the Bohrak-Kal shells when they were defeated? Do they exist somewhere else?
  19. So, first off, congrats to all the winners . You deserve it. They were all great stories. Secondly, I think I already know the answer to this question, but I'll ask it just to be sure: Will these stories be posted to BS01, or would Greg need to approve of each of them before that could happen? Either way, I think I know what I'm going to be reading over the next couple days
  20. Off the bat I think we could put Primal and Seeker into the same species, since they both look like 4-legged insectoids. Or how about Dweller and Vanisher? They seem fairly similar aswell.
  21. I'm not quite sure that I like that GB revelation... Have to mull that one over a bit more...
  22. There is one thing that I'm confused on though. On BS01's Vahi page it says: So, if I'm reading this correctly, does this mean that the Vahi in this universe covers the whole face, or is there something deeper that I'm missing? Like, that there was a Vahi, but it was split.
  23. Just a minor point, but in the Legends of Lhii entry, it has Lhikan using Kanoka disks. Lhikan wasn't a Toa until about 7,000 years ago. According to BS01, Kanoka were created 4,000 years ago. Although the exact wording on the BS01 page leaves it slightly ambiguous(the exact wording on the page is: "The technology used to develop Kanoka was first invented - around 4,000 years ago.(Emphasis mine), so there is some leeway there. If this has already been discussed, then, um, woops...
  24. I decided to go with Mask of Adaption because, with a Toa of Ice in Ta-Metru, fighting a fire breathing dragon, things might start getting a little hot for an Ice Toa, and the mask may help with that. Although, a flying Toa of Ice would be cool too. And, actually, I like bonesiii's idea for why the Toa would wear a Kaukau. It adds an extra, interesting layer to the character (the grizzled veteran). So, in summary, I guess I'm saying I'd be fine with any of these
