  1. I would love to be part of this giveaway.
  2. I've been waiting for this to happen. :3 This is I would pick a favorite creature but there are so many good ones. Some are a little strange, and seem to be the product of I-don't-know-how-to-use-these-pieces; nevertheless, they all work together in the neat little story you have going. The story was a really nice touch, and I enjoy the somewhat ambiguous ending. The Undead Bison and the Plague Bats are highlights for me, although all of the builds were immensely creative. Great job!
  3. ... That was a meme, by the way, in case you've never heard of a thing called homestuck. I do not hold responsibility for the creation of said meme. I know what Homestuck is. Trust me. What I'm saying is, the original form of the line is where doing it man. That you would dare write a proper contraction instead strikes me as something almost...blasphemous. j/k tho who cares it's sbahj Ah, sorry I didn't get proper information :S Well then. I stand corrected. Sometimes... the grammar stickler within me cannot control itself. And yes. It's sbahj.
  4. This is what the Onua set should have been, proportionally. In the animations, they make him much bigger than he is in set form, compared to the other Toa. He does look a little strange from the back, although this is understandable considering the gearbox mechanism. I also feel like the legs should've had a double connection (like Takanuva 2008) due to the very heavy torso. Korgot looks pretty great, too. You did a good job making her look feminine. Much more than the original set. Well done!

  6. Oo oo oo, gimme gimme gimme! I like this. Please do expand on it. And this is for Bota Magna, correct? I gotta say, I love the beginning, what with that ambient mix of antiquity and electronica with drums, it is very Bionicle in atmosphere. Idea for title, how about just: "Bota Magna" (if it was made for Bota Magna, that is)? Maybe a little bit less didgeridoo and some more drums and electical synths (also having the song extended would be nice, though you said it was a WIP so, that'll happen when it happens.) There's actually no didgeridoo in this... Well, I usually think up a title once the song is finished and everything is considered XP. But that seems good by me. I mean, I feel like it could fit on Mata Nui or Voya Nui to an extent, but obviously those don't exist anymore. I love the MNOG inspiration, as well as the percussion complexity. If you extended this song, I think a full orchestra feature in a later part would be very good. I was thinking about that. I was a bit afraid that the percussion would be overwhelming, so I plan on having some parts where percussion cuts out, or is just a single conga or djembe. Thanks for the good criticism, all. I may be busy in the next few days, since I am moving into college, but I will do what I can.
  7. So yeah. This a blog. Pretty cool I guess. And this is a typical first entry by me. Pretty darn random. I suppose I should introduce myself, since I'm not particularly well known on this forum, and usually just lurk. However, now that I am a premiere member, I have this idea that I should do something with my life. Bionicle has been a big part of my life since the first McDonalds Matoran I got (I think it was Onepu). Man, those disks were the coolest thing ever. After that, I got a Bohrok, and, having no idea that Bionicle had a story since I was five at the time, I suitably thought that it was a spaceship. That krana looked just like a little mini escape pod for perfect crash landings. When I played MNOG for the first time with my Mom at age 6, I was captivated. From MNOG onward, I followed the Bionicle website almost religiously and collected as many sets as I could. Probably one of the best moments in my Bionicle fanhood was when I got my best friend hooked on it (Kopekemaster). Somehow, he now has more Bionicle stuff than I. Irony much. Besides Bionicle, I love music. I would give a list of favorite bands, but I think there's already one on my profile. I am so much into music, that I am taking the (incredibly unlikely) path to becoming a film composer. This has been a big dream for me for years, and I am about to begin my freshman year at a school of music majoring in Music Composition. I am officially too lazy to write any more than that. Anyway, those two things are very big in my life, but if you want to know more about me, read my profile. Or, if you're feeling especially inspired, send me a PM I'd love to talk (if you use correct grammar). Bye for now.
  8. Mata Nui rising. I remember watching that for the first time in complete awe; ten years of story culminated in those two minutes. I then proceeded to rewatch it every day for the next few weeks.
  9. Here is the demo. It's quite short, but I've really enjoyed making it. https://soundcloud.com/pmdonnelly/araelectronicdemo/s-ij2jF
  10. The Prestige. Excellent film, directed by Christopher Nolan.
  11. I Kiina want to stop with the puns; they're making me swerve off the Rode. Also... Mukau.
  12. Hey all! I don't know if I've officially posted in this topic yet, but I am currently working on something! It is percussion based, lots of congas, taiko, kidi, sogo, and other kinds of tribal drum sounds mixed with electronic marimba and synth pads. I was thinking it has a somewhat Bota Magna sound to it, but we'll see how it evolves. It is somewhat ambient, but I hope it has a place. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi!
  13. As mentioned somewhere above, Lego typically reboots the "legacy themes" every once in a while. Along with this, they also seem to continue the "spirit" of certain themes; Alpha Team-Agents-Ultra Agents, Life on Mars-Mars Mission, Rock Raiders-Power Miners, etc. Even if a theme isn't "rebooted" per se, there's a good chance that the main concept will recur sometime in the following decade.
  14. I am beginning to doubt the accuracy of the magazine's description with the recent video. The magazine implied that Slices was under the control of LoSS; however this is probably not the case, since he (rather obviously) took off the Skull Spider mask in the animation. I am also beginning to doubt whether there is actual history to these guys, since a lot of what we've found out has been very vague and/or conflicting. Nevertheless, it is quite possible to have a previously not seen species, because of the cataclysm after Makuta's thing with the MoUP, which may have caused mass destruction/extinction.
  15. I really like this idea; however, there is the fact that the Toa seem to "come from the stars." I think the constant planetary/stellar imagery in various places (boxes, animations, website, etc) seems to say that there is more to it than the Mask of Time. If time was the only factor, then wouldn't they just have randomly showed up in the basic geographic location where they had been standing in their previous time period? While I am with you on the Skull Villains being undead Toa, I think there is a more complex way that they ended up on Okoto. Also, if the Toa were summoned with the Mask of Time, how were the baddies summoned? The TV spot seems to imply the use of the Mask of Creation, however, I feel that there's something more interesting going on. Perhaps involving a certain Mask of Control?
  16. Did anyone else notice that Lewa is not present in the screen where Kopaka conjures his "ice shield" (or whatever it is)? Wouldn't surprise me if the "stupid-Toa-of-Air-(now-jungle)-gets-possessed-by-mind-control-thingy" gimmick gets carried over. I mean, his is the only infected mask shown. Also, did anyone else notice the cocoons hanging off the bridge to the city? Wondering if that's how skull slicer got his other two arms. Anyway just theories. This video looks pretty darn cool, imho.
  17. What's the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
  18. So you're in favor of making a useless skull spider body be more important story wise than the Golden Skull Spider mask that LoSS never had the chance to use BECAUSE IT WAS MISSING FROM ITS PEDESTAL IN THE FINAL EPISODE. Pohatu even points it out by asking what was originally on the pedestal. That's called foreshadowing. They wouldn't make a Golden Mask of Skull Spiders appear in set form and then foreshadow its importance if it wasn't going to have story significance. Once the summer story is out, you'll see my prophecies come true, mark my words. Also, there's already play potential that's introduced with the whole Infected Golden Mask of Jungle thing. Not to mention the weapons that are specifically designed to tear the masks off of their foes. Hmm. Interesting. I'd never thought about the significance of the empty pedestal. I wonder where the mask came from, because the skull spider mask certainly doesn't seem like something Ekimu would make. Perhaps Makuta was plotting everything even before he was presumably taken over by the MoUP?
  19. To begin with, I really like what you have to say, and I have noticed a certain snobbishness among us older fans. However, I'd like to point out that TLG does owe us something; I mean, who are the people who faithfully buy their products and have (more or less) the capital to do so? We, the fans. As a company, Lego should listen to the fans, even the cranky, old, die hard ones on this forum. And if someone wants to be cranky about how the new line is progressing, they can do so. We still have free speech as far as I know. Nevertheless, I understand how it can become rather hackneyed. People should reserve their judgement until at least the end of the year, as the line could easily get much better. On an artistic or story level, Lego is more than capable of success.
  20. I'm pretty sure that's what Kopekemaster should be saying.
  21. There's both a copper-colored Huna and Komau in the gallery I linked. Mata Nui, those are beautiful! I didn't see your link at first. This gladdens my heart that those exist.
