  1. Keeping the same team of characters makes a good story, but unless they're written to be frequently rebuilt, as Heroes were, a terrible action figure line. A lot of people collected every Toa this year, and I can see why, but would they do it next year? The year after? How many Tahus, Onuas and Lewas is too many? Exo-Force and Ninjago don't really count, since the minifigures could stay the same while the big fancy parts of the set could change. Besides, they'd have to come up with a new story gimmick every year to explain the changes, just like Hero Factory did, and who has ever praised HF for its story?
  2. IC Mahrika Refectory Mahrika couldn't help turning his head back and forth, looking between Exxan and Fang. Exxan... the villain, the murderer, the heartless. Fang, the revolutionary, the vigilante, the hot-headed. That was what everyone called them. But if he hadn't known them in advance, Mahrika couldn't have differentiated them here. They both looked the same: tired, hurt, and worn-out. He nodded at their comments, rather than speaking. It was time, Mahrika decided, that he forget his disagreements with both of them. OOC: I've been waiting a long time for this moment...
  3. I was under the impression that Telekinesis was the opposite of Shattering, as it can be used to build things.
  4. So... I take it Roman is the only one who has any preference between Aileron and Outlash?
  5. IC Mahrika Refectory "Well. Uh, hello." Feeling as if he had arrived late to a sacred ritual, Mahrika sat at the table beside Fang, Catatonic and Exxan. "If I can be completely direct here... Didn't you two hate each other?"
  6. IC Mahrika Library -> Corridors Open for Interaction His hands were ink-splattered and cramped, and his eyes were fatigued, but he was done. Several pages of fine, barely-legible text lay before him, plus four identical sheets written in large letters with his best handwriting. Too tired to put away the library books, Mahrika simply gathered up his writings and walked out. He wished he could return to his dormitory, but he wasn't quite done yet. He made his first stop outside the gymnasium, his second outside the infirmary, and his third in the dormitory wing. In each place he left one of his four identical flyers on the wall. They read: INTERESTED IN JUSTICE? SAFETY? LEADERSHIP? COME TO THE FIRST MEETING OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL MIDNIGHT OF THE 4TH IN THE MAIN COURTYARD ALL STUDENTS WELCOME Mahrika planned to put the last flyer in the refectory. He pinned it on the wall by the door, then noticed the two Rahkshi he least expected to get along sitting together at a nearby table. Shocked and confused, he stumbled over to them. "Exxan? Fang?" Despite their distinctive coloration, he could hardly believe it was them. OOC: Since nobody knows how Matoran measure days, "The 4th" is intended to be in 2 days IC time.
  7. Apparently Aileron is a Ko-Matoran now...
  8. Um thank you Ultron but I didn't really want them approved yet. I posted them to see what the community thought of them. For anyone who's interested, they're on the previous page, near the bottom.
  9. IC Mahrika Mahrika's Dormitory -> Library Mahrika tried to sleep, but he could not. What was it? Not the gruesome spectacle of the killer's punishment... not exactly. There were thoughts and ideas crashing around in his head, and eventually he had no choice but to indulge them. He set off to the library, and surrounded himself with his favorite books: Two on political theory, four on philosophy, one history of various governments, and a copy of the Brotherhood legal code. Then he took a sheaf of paper, a jar of ink and a pen and started writing. The words flowed like the Eidolon, interrupted only by breaks to search for reference passages from his selected literature. He was on to something great, he was sure of it.
  10. Am I the only one who's realized that the Makuta mind-stealing thing and the Rahi-morphs thing would go perfectly together? Imagine this: Far into the future, the Kingdom has attained a stable society. It spans three islands (Mata Nui, Voya Nui and Nuva Nui) and has vast wild expanses for beasts and nomads to roam, shining cities for manufacture and trade, and everything in between. Toa are few, as there is little danger; all the survivors who were Toa at the time of the Great Migration are now Turaga. Other species, for the most part, live in small communities in the Kingdom's distant corners. The vast majority of those in the cities are Matoran. It is an age of peace... ...but it might not last. Rumors tell that something made it through the Wall of Light in the years before the passage to the old universe was sealed. No one is sure what... except, of course, those who are of it themselves. How it made it into the Kingdom and transformed into its current state is a mystery to all, but what it is now is simple. It is a species of beings called Kraata: weak, helpless slugs in their natural state, but capable of phasing directly through the head of a being and into their brain, where they immediately assume total control and have access to all their host's knowledge and thoughts. The only way to cure a Kraata's host is by exposing them to energized protodermis, which will kill the Kraata and leave the host unharmed. Of course, anyone who is not a host will be instantly destroyed. The Kraata are organized and powerful. They target the influential and respected, seeking to bring about the day when they can simply order the Kingdom's entire population to have Kraata inserted into their heads. No one can be trusted. Not the Toa, not the Hunters, not the Turaga. Only Rahi cannot be directly controlled. Except... There is one being who by accident destroyed his (or her, no clue at this point) own Kraata, while working with energized protodermis. Freed from control, he turned his research to a means of preventing the Kraata invasion. Finally he found a solution: a device which can grant a great power, but only to those with no powers of their own: the power to, for a limited time, become a Rahi. In this state, as long as it lasts, the user is immune to Kraata control. But the Kraata are searching for him. They can't let him live. He must find someone to whom he can pass on the device. And he's running out of time...
  11. I'm torn here. On one hand, there's lots of great development I could get for my characters. On the other hand, I can't stop thinking about ideas for additional characters. So I decided to compromise and share my ideas with the community, to see what the other players think of them. If there's a lot of demand to see one of them played, it will have an impact on when and if I do bring either into the game. Name: Aileron Variation: Ice Resistance Level: As of beginning of RP, 2: Innately warm and comfortable near the freezing point. Gender: Female Gear: Aileron carries a pair of large and very broad, straight blades. They can be strapped firmly to her forearms, which allows them to function like rudders when she flies, giving her greater maneuverability in the air. They were made a while ago by a Ghost for another Rahkshi who ended up not using them. Appearance: Aileron has a blue head and torso, light blue limbs and orange hands and feet. Her spines are filed down to long, narrow curves to prevent their interfering with her flight. Personality: Aileron appears at first impression to be emotionless and apathetic, but the truth is that she finds it difficult to express her emotions. She has an incredible memory for abstract concepts and knows the basic principles of physics by heart. It is often hard for her to remember that most don't have the same knowledge she does, and she frequently assumes that complex science and mathematics are common knowledge. When challenged she tends to withdraw rather than fight back, as she is uncomfortable with instigating or responding to social interaction, whether friendly or hostile. Bio: On her first flight testing the wing blades, she flew to altitudes chillier than her power could handle and fell into the sea. By the time she reached shore she was hypothermic and had to be healed by Palma. Name: Outlash Variation: Mind Reading Level: As of beginning of RP, 2: Instinctive empathy and mind detection Gender: Female Gear: She carries a mismatched pair of long knives: one broad and curved like a cleaver, the other narrow, pointed and serrated. She has named them Pain and Suffering, respectively, but this is a secret she intends to take to her grave. It's too embarrassing. Appearance: Her armor colors are a mix of muted green, tan and gray. Her spines alternate angles left and right. Personality: When others are in distress, Outlash is drawn to their pain like a Muaka to an injured Mahi. The negative emotions she can sense with her empathic power are like an addictive drug to her, driving her to cause them herself, either by physical or emotional injury. She is very aware of her obsession, yet sees no reason why she should abstain. She is by no means masochistic, though, and has as much aversion to being in pain herself as anyone else might. (Due to her reliance upon her Level 1 empathy power, her Level 2 detection power is atrophied, allowing her only to sense if anyone is in the general area.) Bio: Outlash loves Corpus Rahkshi. Zex's torture in the Gymnasium left her in a euphoric state, and her goal is to arrange more pain to the other students, as much as possible.
  12. Permission to feature my current and future CR characters in a comic granted.
  13. The Bohrok. Has transparent bright green limb "bones."
  14. Vezon: Go ahead, shout 'til you're blue in the face! I can't hear you holler out here in outer space! Laugh all you like about my Anarchy mastery I'm still more a Toa than you pretended to be! I'm an Element Lord of Dimensional Gates! Look, even got a Great Mask on my face! The chosen guardian of a legendary Kanohi! Fans and writer alike all love me! You they put in a fusion, brought your plot to an end And not a single being would ever be YOUR friend!
  15. I love this so much already! I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees Ekimu as kind of a jerk.
  16. I like that idea! Maybe they were once villagers, but cursed when they tried to use the elemental masks.
  17. Chasm, my first thought when I saw your sig was why Stormer was fighting Iron Man... Back on topic, though, jokes aside I think a Mask of Destruction would upset the legendary mask trinity we have right now.
  18. IC Vir Vir's Dormitory Vir shrugged. "I'm not in much of a mood to break things. I'm still a little tired; I'd rather get some rest." IC Mahrika Gymnasium He had no words left for Rain. He knew what he'd done was shameful. Emotion was no excuse for rash behavior. He sulked out of the gym. OOC: Signing off for now.
  19. IC Vir Vir's Dormitory "Well, it wouldn't be right to go knocking down everyone's door in the search." IC Mahrika Gymnasium Thank Mata Nui for Squid. His intervention cooled Mahrika's fury, allowing his reasoning side to regain a grasp on his actions. "No, he's right." Mahrika stepped back and lowered his trident. "I'm done here. I 'surrender,' Rain, if that's what you want."
  20. IC Vir Vir's Dormitory Vir scratched their headplate. "Maybe we should go to the refectory. Someone there might know where she is." IC Mahrika Gymnasium Mahrika stared, aghast, as Rain returned with antidermis oozing down her weapon, as nonchalantly as if she had merely had a drink of water. The tortures other Rahkshi inflicted upon the killer already sickened him, but what shocked him most was how calm, how unmoved Rain remained. He felt his joints flex to complete stiffness, fists clenched, jaws locked. His spines twitched. All Mahrika's rational philosophies and educated ethical codes boiled away, incinerated by the raging fire of his anger and horror, now too powerful to be contained any longer. "You want to see my one attack, manas?" he hissed. He stabbed his trident straight at the junction between Rain's shoulder and torso. "This!"
  21. Just warning you Kovika, the Matoran are attacking Rahkshi on sight.
  22. Yeah but his name is PYRE. It doesn't take a Great Being to figure that one out.
  23. IC Vir Vir's Dormitory Vir was awed and amazed that someone wanted their help. "Yes, sure, of... of course! Where should we look?" IC Mahrika Gymnasium "Excuse me? I've never done such a thing." He tried to push the tip of the staff away.
