  1. Onewa. Sword-wielding Toa of Fire who is packaged with a small insectoid creature... and is from G1.
  2. When the Mask of Light falls out of Jaller's bag on the Kolhii field, he shoves it with his foot and it casts its light on Takua. Takua is declared as herald, but Jaller, tired of the mere Chronicler getting all the glory while he, the Captain of the Guard, gets little, appoints himself as Takua's bodyguard. They set off on their journey, Rahkshi destroy Ta-Koro, they go to Le-Wahi, then Ko-Wahi, then Onu-Wahi. In the caverns, Makuta appears to Jaller and reminds him that his duty is to protect Takua, then warns him that he will kill Takua unless Jaller turns over the Mask of Light. Jaller keeps this to himself until they get to Onu-Koro, but after the two Matoran escape a Rahkshi attack he tells Takua he must leave, using his inability to defend him from the Rahkshi as an excuse. Takua vows to find the Seventh Toa himself. Alone, Takua makes his way to Kini-Nui, but the Rahkshi appear. Fortunately, the Toa have tracked him down and arrive just in time to save him... almost. The Turakh escapes them and steals the Mask of Light by paralyzing Takua with fear, then carries it off to Makuta. The Toa decide to face Makuta, as they have done before, and take back the mask, and task Takua with organizing the defense of Kini-Nui until they return. Takua hurries to Ga-Koro, which is also where the Ta-Matoran have evacuated to. He informs all there, including Jaller, that the Rahkshi stole the Mask of Light and the Toa are entering the Mangaia to reclaim it. Jaller orders the Ta-Koro Guard to immediately march to Kini-Nui and defend it, but tells them he will not march with them. He privately tells Takua that he wants to atone for his failure by following the Toa to regain the Mask of Light, no matter the risk. Takua agrees to go with him as his Chronicler. The two of them use the defeated Kraata as guides to enter Mangaia and find Makuta. They reach his inner lair, and find him standing over the corpses of the Toa, holding the Avohkii. He laughs, telling them he will make them a deal: They can have the Mask of Light if they beat him in a game of Kolhii. Terrified, Jaller and Takua have no better idea than to accept his terms. Makuta places the Mask of Light within a dark shrine behind him, then the game begins. Makuta is able to outplay the two Matoran with little effort, dodging their shots easily and making halfhearted attempts to hit them. After a minute, Takua catches the ball, then ducks behind a pillar and quickly explains his plan to Jaller. When they emerge, Takua races towards Makuta and performs his signature flip move... as a distraction, because he'd given the ball to Jaller, who launches it and hits Makuta directly in the chest. Makuta is stunned and weakened, and at that moment Takua notices the dead Toa vanish and then reappear. He realizes that the bodies are illusions, and takes the next ball from the protodermis pool. Makuta has recovered and prepares to defend himself, but instead Takua fires the ball at one of the room's pillars. Tahu breaks free in a burst of fire and uses flame to destroy the next pillar, which frees Pohatu, who frees Lewa, who frees Gali, who frees Onua, who frees Kopaka. The Toa begin launching elemental attacks at Makuta, who panics and fires shadow bolts in all directions. While this is happening, Jaller sneaks past and takes the Mask of Light from the shrine. Eventually Makuta shouts in frustration and then seemingly vanishes into thin air. The winners celebrate, but only briefly, because it is soon clear that Takua was hit by a shadow blast and is severely injured. Jaller runs to his side and tries to help him, but Takua doesn't get up. He smiles, and as he points up at the Mask of Light, his last words are, to Jaller, "I found you." Jaller hears the hiss of the Turahk, enraged by the disappearance of its master, running out of the shadows. The Toa, battered and drained, raise their weapons, but Jaller puts on the Mask of Light and is transformed into the Toa of Light. He fires a beam of light at the Turahk and defeats it. Then the seven Toa leave Mangaia, bringing Takua's mask, and bringing the good and bad news to the Matoran and Turaga. The Matoran return to Metru Nui, and the Toa Nuva leave to find the Kanohi Ignika. But after a while, the Matoran get uneasy as to what Jaller and the Turaga might not be telling them. Eventually Hafu, after getting no information out of Onewa, reassembles the Chronicler's Company and each Matoran tries to get their Turaga to give them some clue. The only one who succeeds is Tamaru, who manages to convince Matau to tell him where the Toa have gone and why. The Company then decides to leave and find the Toa. The Company reaches Voya Nui and becomes the Toa Inika, who do all the Toa Inika stuff, become Toa Mahri, one of them is sacrificed, you know how the story goes. If Mata Nui were attacked during his voyages by some external enemy.
  3. Wow, a really cool piece! I love the character-building (and rationalization of PoI's set design).
  4. Wow, very cool find! I wouldn't be surprised if Artakha and Karzahni were originally based on this.
  5. You know, technically it could be valid for the contest as a Red Serpent.
  6. Wow, very cool and well-built. I'm especially impressed by the weapons.
  7. It's very cool, but there are only a couple scattered pieces from the Gen 2 sets.
  8. Ok, copied the POJ's Romanian description and put it through Google Translate to see if there's any hidden lore. No such luck: Romanian: Atentie! Maleficul Paianjen-craniu pregateste un atac in adancul junglei. Translation: Heads Up! Evil Spider-Skull preparing an attack deep in the jungle. Throw yourself in the defense of the terrible village of the protectors Protector of the jungle, a sturdy figurine, built with a Dual tone mask trigger. Fit arms and legs to create frightening battle positions. Then unleash the huge Arc rapid launcher with flame elemental and put it to flight spider skull. Analogous English blurb: Beware! The evil Skull Spider is mounting an attack deep in the jungle. Swoop to the defense of the Protectors’ village with the awesome Protector of Jungle, a sturdy, buildable figure featuring a dual-tone mask with pop-off trigger. Adjust the arms and legs to create fearsome battle poses. Then unleash the huge Air Elemental Flame Bow’s rapid shooter and send the Skull Spider scurrying for safety.
  9. Name: Kanohi Ison, Mask of Repetition Power: Projects an energy field that traps a target in a mental loop, forcing them to repeat a thought pattern, series of actions, or sequence of sensory input. Since it can easily be used to trap the target in a stressful mental state or dangerous set of actions, Toa consider the morality of its use highly questionable. Weakness: The user must maintain concentration. Can force the target to repeat a thought OR memory OR action OR sensory input, but not multiple of these. Description/Photo: Has a primitive, framework-like appearance. The variant preferred by Makuta has insectoid mandibles. Kanoka: Traps the target in a loop of thought, action or sensation. Duration determined by power level. Noble: Can trap the target in a loop of action, but they will remain fully aware of the real world. Nuva: As well as letting the user pass on the abilities of the mask to others, the user can accelerate, reverse or pause the mental loop.
  10. Why not just say it became a Great Pakari and then was destroyed by the EP pool? Seems like the simplest explanation.
  11. Also, if you only changed the distance between/size of your atoms, your mass would stay the same. I think space-shifting is more likely for size-changing masks.
  12. Kraata below Shadow Kraata level are only as intelligent as Rahi.
  13. From your description I'm guessing it's 8995, the Thornatus V9. Instructions are here: http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/8995/Thornatus_V9
  14. Has everyone forgotten Pewku tracking Takua and Jaller from Le-Wahi to Ko-Wahi? Ussals have some crazy good senses.
  15. Name: Kanohi Obstrix, Mask of Barriers Power: The user can set up a nearly indestructible wall of energy. Weakness: The size and maximum distance from the user of the wall are limited. The user must maintain focus and remain nearby to keep the wall present. The wall cannot move; to change its position the user must remove it and then re-form it elsewhere. The wall cannot be placed within a solid object. Description/Photo: Has an angular, boxy shape with narrow eyes. Kanoka: Places a wall of energy right in front of its target immediately after impact. Size and duration are determined by power level. Noble: The more the wall is damaged, the harder it is for the user to maintain concentration. Nuva: As well as letting the user pass on the abilities of the mask to others, several adjacent walls can be summoned simultaneously, forming a jointed surface like that of a simple 3D model. Kanohi AkavakakuKanoka: The target, if a sentient being, becomes unable to recognize certain objects around them at random. Duration and number of objects determined by power level. If an inanimate object, target becomes unrecognizable to all present besides thrower. Duration determined by power level and number and mental strength of beings present.Nuva: As well as letting the user pass on the abilities of the mask to others, the user can determine, to a limited extent, what afflicted beings are likely to believe the target really is.
  16. Cool idea to make his throwing disk a propeller! But the yellow looks out-of-place. Maybe you could make those shells the same as those on his shoulders, and then give him some trans-yellow-green bones?
  17. I agree, this looks so much more elegant than the original Umbra! Although with both hands palms-up he looks like he's lifting his staff like a weight!
  18. I'd say the Akaku probably allows light traveling directly towards the user to manage to avoid the electrons of a desired thickness of matter, thus rendering that matter transparent. As for the Ruru, I think it's simply granting the wearer the ability to project and see light of a certain wavelength. The Noble form only projects and sees infrared, but the Great form can also project shorter wavelengths like visible, which allows others to see, or x-ray, which can scan through certain barriers.
  19. Name: Kanohi Akavakaku, Mask of Misidentification Power: The user can prevent a certain being or beings from recognizing a certain target, even if they have seen it before. The afflicted beings might believe the target to be anything but what it really is. Toa consider this mask slightly questionable, but not immoral outright. Weakness: If the afflicted beings realize that the identity of the target has been obscured, the illusion will be broken. Therefore, it is unlikely that using the mask on a target that a being is currently observing will succeed. Rode users will realize that there is deception at work, but the illusion will not automatically break. Description/Photo: My avatar. Noble: Cannot prevent a being from recognizing something they have seen before, but can prevent them from recognizing something they have seen described.
  20. Looks like Luke has some Technic in his upper legs... plus a pair of handcuffs and a spare lightsaber. I haven't watched the movie in a while, but did either of those actually appear?
  21. Wow, such a cool head design!
  22. IC Outlash Library -> Corridors A quiet one, huh? "Maybe you should be more attentive to the results of your actions."
  23. Oh, it just keeps going deeper! I can't wait to see what's next.
  24. Cool! I like the spiky armor, it helps identify him as a true Stone villager.
