  1. The Vahki was completely out of it. Any normal Vahki seemed to have eyes in the back of its head, this one paid no attention as Dar'rak silently rolled and crept behind it, trailing it through the Metru. Every step the machine took left it further and further behind the main squadron, which eventually turned a corner and was out of sight. There were two options: Keep following it to see where it was going, or gang up on it and take it out. They turned to Dedris. "Got any ideas? Besides running it through?" "Nope," he answered. "I wouldn't know where to go if we just left now. Though if you have any ideas I'd listen to them." (Sorry for the wait, guys, school is being a pain)
  2. IT'S HORRIBLE! IT'S HIDEOUS! IT'S PINK!!!! That's just so perfect...
  3. Characters can move just about anywhere reasonable. It's up to you to write where you're going, though. Since you decided to follow Portal and Dedris, I'll teleport you conveniently in the same alley, watching the hacked Nuurahk. If you wanted to do something like, say, head for the Coliseum, just write your character going to a chute station and going there. The dice only show up for combat. Which brings up the question of whether or not you want to attack the Nuurahk. If you dramatically unsheath your weapon and point it at someone, you start a fight. YES. I'm not too keen on the differences on RPGs and forum games... I'm kinda a noob with them. If you have any ideas, that's great! I really want to keep the storytelling feel to it, though... Though if I manage to keep the Stars and Hoverbikes I won't be complaining.
  4. You know what, I just read the G&T rules and I'm pretty sure this actually is an RPG... dangit. Oh well. I guess that disqualifies it from the contest, but I'm going to keep it here until one of the mods decides to move it. On with the story. (Also, mods, when you DO decide to move it, would you like to play?) The two rode on to Ta-Metru, and had already noticed a drastic difference. Usually, the air around the sea was buzzing with Vahki activity. Now the only noise were some gulls crying on the shore. Dedris found an abandoned shed to park the bikes in, and had his disk launcher out, scanning the area. He finally decided nothing was a threat and started walking down the alleys closer to the heart of the Metru. Portal followed, keeping his dagger close. They stopped when Dedris held out his hand and peered out into a street. A regular patrol of Nuurahk marched past, not noticing them. Strangely, one of the Nuurahk was twitching, straggling behind. Its companions kept their steady rhythem but never stopped for it to catch up. It let out a chiming noise, and Dedris' eyes widened. "It's hacked. If we could get into its brain there might be a clue in there." "How do you suppose we do that?" "I'll guard the alley, you take him out." Dedris walked back into the darkness without waiting for a response. If you want to attack the Nuurahk, write Portal whipping out his disk launcher or something. Disks are 215, 125, and 475. Ga-Metru random reconstitution, Ta-Metru freeze, and Ko-Metru regeneration. As for your weapon, I'd say it would be classified just as a Sword on the datasheet. Do you want to follow Portal and Dedris into Ta-Metru?
  5. Python the great and powerful has spoken. Your disks are 655, 445, and 575. Onu-Metru Enlarge, Ko-Metru Antipoison, and Le-Metru Regeneration. Also you have 100 widgets, and I'm going to call your character Port for short. The sky outside was a grey wall, a prison holding back the world from the heavens. Some days you felt free as a bird, ready to take to the sky and whatever lay beyond, but not today. A fog hung over the waters, obscuring Metru Nui. The air was heavy with a brew of mist, rumors, and chaos. Lazily, the light spilled into the hangar where Port stood, watching. For what, he didn't know. But there really wasn't a better way to spend such a bleak day, just watching from the warmth and bustle of the hangar. "Hey!" a voice yelled over the screech of a drill spinning. "Port? What's up?" "Oh? Oh, what?" Port stuttered, snapping out of his imagination. "Oh. Hello." The Matoran coming up to him was Dedris, the chief mechanic. Apparently he had his underlings doing the dirty work today so he could take a break by the window. "I haven't seen your bike around the garage in a while. Thinking of going anyplace soon?" Dedris asked. "Eh. Depends on the place." "I'm thinking of going with the gang to the city, myself. You heard what's going on?" "Let's say yes and tell me what you're thinking." Port said, curiosity piqued. "Okay, so agents from the Order of Mata Nui are supposedly coming in, and my ten widgets says they're not there for a vacation. Vahki have been doing strange things. Some more gossip about Dark Hunters lurking around, and of course this Morbuzahk thing. Every Star worth his salt knows that screams Makuta. And it all looks so... familiar." "How so?" "I was one of the crew that flew in for the Matoran Civil War way back when. It was the same. Makuta and Dark Hunters. Hacked Vahki. It's all coming back." "So why the interest? You've stayed in the garage all these years. Why come out now?" "Do you remember Kylae?" "Yeah... oh. She was the one who went for the Civil War... but she never came back." Kylae was a sensitive subject around the Stars. Bringing her up deliberately was asking for a smack to the face. "She tried to kill a Makuta by crashing her bike into the scrapheap. The Makuta was toast on a stick, but nobody ever found Kylae's body. Not Vahki, not Stars, no one." Dedris leaned close to Port. "Kylae was my friend. I watched her bike blow to pieces, saw her body in the canal but then it disappeared. Why would someone take a dead Star? They wouldn't. So now it's all lining up again, all the same plots, and this question's been on my mind for all these years: What if she was still alive?" "But how would you find her, even if she was? How would you know where to look?" "I wouldn't. But I'd go back to where it all started, on Metru Nui. I have a few week's vacation coming up, I'm going to take it to search the island. You want to tag along as my partner?"
  6. No, it's not a wave defense thing and players shouldn't be fighting each other, seeing as though they're all Stars. There will be Vahki, Rahi and Morbuzahk to fight. Enemies probably won't get harder as you go because there's only two weeks to play. The idea is not to destroy the Morbuzahk necessarily, the idea is to find the Matoran that vanished. So in that sense it might be like a scavenger hunt, looking for clues as to where they might have gone. I will say right now you can't just jump into a pit of Morbuzahk and solve the game, because they will take all your gear and leave you to the mercy of the Makuta. My idea is that you eventually find yourself in a mysterious prison with the kidnapped Matoran and you have to break out. As for the IC/OOC stuff, I just was looking through Bionifight and I found it really confusing how there were a few lines of the character talking then a few more about what the player was actually saying. I thought the tags looked ugly and out-of-place. If you really want to say something out-of-character, just do it or use parentheses if you want to clarify that it's OOC. Don't use the tags, please. The best way for me to demonstrate how it works would be just for someone to start posting. Here's the BMPRPG thread which I'm using as my guide: http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/board/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=345 But if someone starts playing, I can demonstrate the idea as I go.
  7. Here we go, then. Matoran. With hoverbikes. Enough said? NO! The Falling Stars are a gang of lawless Matoran bikers that live outside of Metru Nui. Their hoverbikes are based off the designs for Akilini hover-boards, except bigger and badder. Every Star shares one thing in common: Somehow, each of their homes were ravaged by the Brotherhood of Makuta, and they lost everything they had. They found themselves on the Star's doorstep and banded together to hunt down and stop the Brotherhood. When they hear of the Morbuzahk attacking Metru Nui, it sounds just like Makuta and they fly in to investigate. But not like the last time--when Matoran disappear and the Toa go in to save the day--the Stars are determined to find the victims. For the first time, they will find the Matoran that supposedly were never to be seen again. Even if they have to fight through Destral itself to do it. Here come the Falling Stars. FEEL THE HYPER! Game Name: Rise And Fall Creator: evil_jaga_genius Link: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/17748-rise-and-fall-gt-contest-1/
  8. RISE AND FALL created by evil_jaga_genius, based off the BMPRPG We are the Falling Stars. We live outside Metru Nui, ignoring every law the Turaga and Vahki try to enforce. We live free on our hoverbikes, answer to no one. And we all hate Makuta. The scrapheaps. All of us had our lives taken away. Had our worlds destroyed, flipped on their heads by the Brotherhood of Makuta. So we stood up, brushed ourselves off, and banded together. The first hoverbike was nothing but a modified Akilini board, but it grew into the sleek beauties you see today. We were free to move wherever we wanted. We saddled the bikes with guns and we were free to defend ourselves. And we were free to stop the Makuta. You ask why we hate the Makuta so badly? Why are they so evil? Look at Kylae. Witnessed the Madness take the Rahi of her island and terrorize the unsuspecting villagers. Jovar had his home burnt to a crisp by cross-breeds of dragons and Nui-Rama. And me? Well... I saw the Morbuzahk and lived to tell the tale. It was a prototype, more like the Karzahni vines, but just as dangerous. Matoran disappeared. The vines shoved us closer and closer to the center of the city. When all seemed lost, a Toa team stepped in to save the day. But they had their victory, basked in the glory, then forgot about the victims. The Matoran that disappeared were never seen again... because the Toa never looked. I tried to save my best friend from the thing. He was screaming for me to save him... I pummeled disk after disk into the thing, but it just wouldn't fall. I watched him get pulled into the earth, screaming his lungs out. And I watched the Toa pass by the street where it happened without a second glance. I vowed never to let that happen again. I would find my friend, the lost, the forgotten, even if I had to fight through Destral to do it. The Morbuzahk are back. About to wreck Metru Nui into a shell of what it was. To steal Matoran and spirit them off to who knows where. And this time? Will the Toa step in to kill the monster and leave the victims to rot in Makuta's clutch? But I know better. I know how to stop it. I must stop it. I have no choice. I am the rise and fall. CREATING YOUR PLAYER: Here are the limits: You can be a Matoran of any element and gender. You can be a guy and a Ga-Matoran for all I care. Seeing as though I'm throwing a lot of canon out the window with the hoverbikes already, I don't really care about silly things like this. You get one starting weapon, 100 widgets, a disk launcher and three random level 5 disks. And of course, your hoverbike. You'll start inside the Falling Stars base, which is miles off the coast of Metru Nui. Look in the datasheet for info on your gear. Keep track of what's in your inventory, especially your disks. Edit your profile post so that you know what you're holding, so you don't try to use the same disk twice. You'll always have 100 HP. Also, as usual, you CAN'T use mask powers and elemental powers. Though if your character has some useful skill like telekinetics or is able to play hypnotic music, bring it up. COMBAT: Each weapon has a base damage it does each turn, plus a d20 roll. If it uses ammo, add the damage the ammo does as well then remove a shot of that from your inventory. If you want to dodge your opponent's next attack, say so. A d20 roll will determine how evasive you are, anything wanting to attack you will have to roll a number equal to or higher than that before doing damage. You can also heal yourself mid-fight by adding a d20 roll to your health, just say you want to get some bandages out of your pack or something. If there's another move you'd like to pull off but isn't listed, describe the attack. I'll give the odds for success—for example, disarming another Matoran would have a 50% chance of working. I'll roll a d20, multiply the score by five. If that number is greater than or equal to the odds of success, you get a reward (maybe two free turns while your opponent runs to grab his weapon.) If you fail, you'll get a penalty. All these take one unit of time. Since you're a Falling Star and have combat training, you can do two things per turn. Other NPCs—like Vahki, for example—will only use one. Your health resets itself to 100 after every fight. COURTESY: Standard BZP rules apply. Don't cheat by giving yourself extra widgets or ammo. If you do, you'll get a warning. Three warnings and all further posts in the game will be ignored. Never post what another player's character does, aside from very minor things. If you want them to ask a simple question like what your weapon does, that's OK. Having them pull a disk launcher on you for the heck of it is not. No god mode. Don't just write “Bob chopped the Vahki's head off in a single blow”. It just makes the game less fun for all. DISK POWERS: First digit: 1: Ta-Metru. Add another d20 roll to damage. 2: Ga-Metru. Cannot miss. 3: Po-Metru. Opponent cannot use disks on their turn. 4: Ko-Metru. Cannot miss, ignores shields and armor. 5: Le-Metru. Add 10 to damage. 6: Onu-Metru. If attack misses, disk is not lost. Second digit: 1: Reconstitute at random. Roll d6. 1-2: Target does 50% less damage. 3-4: No effect except damage. 5-6: Target does 50% more damage. 2: Freeze. Target loses a turn. 3: Weaken. Target does a d20's roll less damage. 4: Anti-poison. Target is immune to poisoning or freezing and is cured/thawed. 5: Enlarge. Target cannot dodge attacks. 6: Shrink. Target cannot be hit by attacks unless they specifically cannot miss. 7: Regeneration. Add damage to target's health. 8: Teleportation. Target is out of the duel. Base damage is third digit times 10. FINAL NOTES: This is a story. Feel free to write in NPCs, use long paragraphs, write in details. Just don't manipulate other characters badly. Above all, please don't make a post that's only two lines of dialog. It's a good rule for your writing to be at least as big as your signature. Use good spelling and coherent writing. This isn't that big an issue, but makes the story more fun to read. Also, there won't be any 'IC/OOC' stuff going on. From this point, you're writing as your character. Go ahead and use first-person voice if you feel like it. This will only take up one thread, so go ahead and post your profiles in here. Datasheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VxUR_K7VEm-Du4pcejBFA_eLGBuG8dKejc5vo0_Tze4/edit?usp=sharing And above all, have fun! -Jaga
  9. Alright, I'm definitely doing one. BMPRPG style, except faster. Can I put a spoiler-teaser-synopsis thing here? Thanks for the answers BTW.
  10. Two questions. Do they have to be in the "Games and Trivia" forum? Or can they be anywhere as long as we post the link here? And can they take up multiple threads? Like have a thread for the actual game and have a seperate thread for people's profiles and stuff like that.
  11. I like it... I'd like to do an RPG in the same vein as the BMPRPG (check my sig), but on here to see if it gets more players. That said, is anyone interested in Matoran on hoverbikes?
  12. As a sentient piece of pineapple (or what's left of me by this point), I convince the ever-hungry Vorahk to eat me. Once inside, I boot the Kraata out and take control. I then use my new hunger powers to make Onaku want to eat the mask, but when he puts it on/in his face, the mask incinirates him. My mask. And Kraata humiliation.
  13. My, that's... gruesome. I offer you a dish of pineapple for breakfast. You see it and pass out on the spot. In the meantime, I enjoy the pineapple, take the mask, and put googly eyes on another fruit so that it's the first thing you see when you wake up. My mask, your ensuing heart attack.
  14. Makuta, being nothing, stops by for a visit. When he leaves, there is an inconviently large crater where your house used to be. I wish I had Deus Ex.
  15. Granted. But I want one too so I hack your suit and have it fly to my house. I wish for a sequel to Spybotics: The Nightfall Incident.
  16. About Pohatu. I was tinkering around with trying to make my own 2015-style Pohatu, and after I made my boomerangs, I put them together into a compound bow. So maybe Pohatu v.2 could have this bow-and-arrow setup, be the long-range guy of the team, then split his bow into his trademark boomerangs. It's hard to top rocket-propelled boomerangs
  17. Granted, but in a horrible accident, you cut off your hand and are forced to use your newly invented blade as a prosthetic. You then spend the rest of your life as a pirate. I wish for a third arm.
  18. Granted, but after you get one and build one, you find it has been meticulously disassembled during the night. Your Tahu figure stands innocently on the same shelf, also seeming to have moved while you were asleep... DUN DUN DUN I wish my webcam would stop being such a pain.
  19. Oh yeah... Tahu riding a dragon comes to mind. Gali with a sea serpent would be even better. Speaking of Scorpio, if they did him in purple he could be a revamp of the Nui-Jaga, what with him guarding Pohatu's mask.
  20. This is not a paradoxical statement. Or is it or isn't it or is it or isn't it or... *boom* I wish to go to SPAAAAAAAAAACE so I can tell the Space Sphere the same thing.
  21. Granted. You drink thirteen cups of coffee in rejoicing and spend the rest of the afternoon running around on the ceiling. I wish you could play Mafia on a forum.
  22. Is the boulder eating Smoke Monster or did the mask suddenly get a mind of its own and start chomping on him? Whilst you contemplate this highly philosophical question, I snatch the mask and then duct tape it to my body. Good luck getting it off. My mask!
  23. Granted. The topic wishes to host a Quake match. I grant its wish by giving it the extra software, including some custom skins. The topic then insists all players use teletubby avatars. I wish for more CCBS parts.
  24. What? No wishing going on here? WHAT IS THIS APOSTASY? Well, I wish for a telepathic computer...
