  1. It's a split answer for me. G1, I like the story more. It is why I am still a Bionicle fan, mostly. It's the part that now interests me the most, I will still gladly sit down and watch MoL anytime (Can practically quote the whole thing...) While I do like the sets, they mostly hold nostalgia value for me. Now, G2, I prefer the sets. but only by a bit. While the story has some good stuff, It's just not the same. I am not really a fan of rebooting stories. Toa Han
  2. As everyone else stated, these are awesome! My favorite is Matoro. I really enjoy seeing photographs of Bionicles in real environments. Though you ought to have Onepu, and not Nuparu. Better yet, do both. And don't forget Hafu! Toa Han
  3. Where to start? Ok, I'll just say that more than half my Bionicle collection has been from Value Village purchases. I have around 150 official sets, most of which were purchased new, but some were Value Village or Bricklink purchases. And I have about 160 Bionicle figures that are not official sets, a lot of whom are larger and a greater piece count than an average set, and almost all of those parts are from purchases from Value Village, with a little Bricklink and official set that I got new at some point. There was a time where I found a lot of Bionicles at my local Value Village. The most recent was a partial Exo-Toa (with box and instructions!)and 4 Toa Metru. I also once found a MISB original Lewa. It is now my brother's and is still MISB. Toa Han
  4. What happens when you watch too much Doctor who and are building lots of Bionicles? You get this mashup. One day, when the Doctor was traveling, we went through a cave (Previously talked about), had a brief rest, and went on his way. what he did not know, was that this cave makes duplicates, and the Doctor, being a Time Lord, and also having a TARDIS with him, didn't notice the change. The duplicate, however obviously noticed the changes. he tried to get back, but the TARDIS also changed, and he wasn't able to get back to his own universe (Somehow the cave sent the Bionicle Doctor to the Bionicle Universe, and the Normal Doctor stayed in his regular one.) Confused and alone, The Doctor wandered about until he met a female Toa of Gravity, Toa Otua, and she was able to answer many questions the Doctor had, but was unable to tell him how to get home. Deciding he couldn't go home with his new appearance, he took Toa Otua with him (As he had just saved her life) and set out to explore this brand new Universe. I have also started a comic, which can be found here. I Have no idea how far this comic will go, I have no story line as of yet, but I got a few comics started. (I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this, but it seemed to be the proper spot Toa Han
  5. Thought I would finally post my namesake Toa here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/31780766@N06/15858922673/ If you are curious about his back story, I have it on the blog I share with Onvermel. He isn't the most complicated build, and his legs were designed by Onvermel (For the most part) But he is easily my favorite Bionicle MOC of mine. At least when it comes to his personality.
  6. Gosh, I don't know where to start. I'll just do this: Q) Trust in the mask A) Let it be your guide. Toa Han
  7. Exactly what it says on the tin. How do you store your Bionicles? Do you have them all locked up in a glass cupboard, in cool poses? Do you stuff em all in a couple of boxes? Do you keep your MOCs built long enough to even store em? As for myself, I have various ways. I also divide my sets and my MOCs. My sets, the ones with canisters, get stored in their canister, in a couple of boxes (With a couple of exceptions). Larger sets without canisters (Or 'Titans' as I call em) get put into a single box, and smaller sets (ie, Turaga, Matoran) usually get put into a canister of someone who matches (ie, Turaga Vakama with original Tahu, Rahaga Boomonga with Hordika Whenua, you get the idea) Miscellaneous sets, usually ones that are canistered, but I acquired without a canister, simply go into a box. As for my MOCs, since they are all pretty permanent, they get sent into boxes for each army (Though technically speaking, a couple aren't really armies, just groups.) A couple of lucky MOCs will get the pleasure of standing on my bookshelf, collecting dust, And as for the remaining bits of leftover parts, they are stuck in a container, waiting to get used. There usually isn't too much, for if I can build a figure, I will, regardless on looks. I will get some pictures up of all my stuff soon. So, enough about my collection, what about yours? Toa Han
  8. For appearance, the Vahi, the Avohkii (Original version) the Original Hau would have to be my top 3. I think. For function, I think the Huna. Toa Han
  9. All I have ever done for painted masks (And other parts) is just spray paint. It's hit and miss (Usually miss) on how well it looks in the end. Often edges get left unpainted, as the paint 'flows' downhill. But I am lazy and impatient when it comes to such things. Toa Han
  10. It was either reading the first comic, (Especially remember being confused when Kopaka put on the Hau) or playing with my recently acquired Turaga Vakama on the day I got him (Christmas day) stairs and having him loose his mask. Actually, it would be when my older brothers got a Turaga Onewa (How do two people own one Turaga? Don't Ask. I don't know) I have so many early memories of Bionicles. Though the three above are the three "Earliest" Toa Han
  11. 2008 would be better if the Mistika Toa actually looked like their namesakes (I am mostly OK with the Phantoka Toa) 2010 Would have been better without the stars and with the Baterra 2015 would be better if the Masks stayed on their heads. Toa Han
  12. Last G1 Bionicle set I opened was possibly either Mistika Tahu, or Mistika Onua last year. I know I found both with their canister at Value Village, but I can't recall which one had the sealed canister, if either did. If not that, then the big Takanuva, April of 2014. actually, that may be the most likely.... Toa Han
  13. I remember seeing the Mctoran one time going to Mcdonalds. Me and a couple of my siblings were very disappointed that we Never got them then. Some manye years later (Not really sure when. 2008ish?) I ordered Onepu and the Boxor off of Bricklink. have since bought many more Onu-Matoran parts, and have gotten a couple Ga Matoran parts, too.
  14. I would like to see Johnny THunder with a expanded speaking role, and I think he should be voiced by Hugh Jackman. I also would like to see Rocket racer have a Cameo appearance, and make his way into a set in the way that Johnny did. Having a slightly bigger Bionicle appearance would be good, Tahu arguing with someone sounds like a great idea. Toa Han
  15. I have mixed feelings on this set. On one half, WOW! this is huge and awesome! Other half, dang, it's going 10 be $230 CDN...... And I still haven't gotten my Slave 1 yet. and work being slow isn't helping. Toa Han
  16. Darth Vader looks really great, I want him so much. Luke is a bit weird, but not really surprised on that. Toa Han
  17. Wow, those teeth are... nasty and scary! Great job! As another poster pointed out, the hood looks a bit odd. I really like the feet, even though they are very simply. THe evoke the original part, and yet are very much CCBS. This is a great creation! and scary! Toa Han
  18. This is way better than the actual set. In my opinion, the Gorast set is one of the ugliest, and most annoying to pose of all the Bionicle sets. Toa Han
  19. This is supremely awesome! I recently found a partial Exo-Toa set at a thrift store, finally completing the set (I had slowly been piecing one together) I really like the look of this. Very mechanical, and way more poseable than the original, and Tahu looks great in it! the legs look a bit spindly, that would be my only critique. Toa Han
  20. My user name is the name of my favorite Toa MOC. pretty simple. Now, as to how my Toa got his name..... that is a long and convoluted story. Toa Han
  21. I am very impressed with your work. I doubt I could do 3-d designing. I would definitely consider getting some of these. One can never have enough masks. Toa Han
  22. I am quite impressed with this, considering what you had to work with. I agree with others that the shovel hands do a lot to enhance the resemblance of the original. Makuta.
  23. No, it's quite alright. I should post his own topic, and give the backstory behind him. Toa Han
  24. The first set I owned was 1464 Pirate lookout. My oldest set I own, is 333 Delivery truck. I found this at a thrift store. My oldest Bionicle set is Turaga Vakama Toa Han
  25. Thanks! I was quite happy with his head, too. The Ruru is just too small of a mask for such an immense being. That's not actually Pohatu. He is my Signature Toa, Toa Hanahtu. Thought he resemblance is not really a coincidence. Toa Han
