  1. Cool stuff. I'm intrigued by the elemental symbols here. Anyone know if those images were used elsewhere in the 2009 BIONICLE media?
  2. Agreed. It also helps that he's a cyborg to begin with, so the CCBS parts are well-suited to his appearance. Not to mention he comes with four lightsabers.
  3. Having wanted a standard fig-sized Hulk for a while now, but not wanting to pay ~$30 for the polybag released in 2012, I'm happy to hear this news.
  4. My girlfriend got me Tahu for Christmas... about ten years after I gave her Toa Nokama for her birthday when we were in 8th grade.
  5. Cool mask. The design reminds me a little bit of Takanuva's 2008 Avohkii. I could easily see a gold version of this being used on a scaled-down Takanuva set. Was the resemblance intended? (Or is it just in my head? ) Either way, it's a cool design and I'm curious to know how long it took to produce from initial sketches to final printing. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I've been hoping that the BIONICLE sets might head this direction at some point in the future, so thanks for giving us a taste of what "Bio-figs" might look like. I like the way you've got the mask attaching to the head via that small pin hole. It really keeps the "mask feel," as opposed to if you had simply used a helmet-type piece instead. It's cool that you also went the extra mile in designing a fully custom body and limbs. I usually imagine minifig-scale Toa just re-using the "Hero-fig" bodies, but I like what you've designed here. Any chance we will be seeing the other Toa in minifig scale?
  7. Hey guys, I just bought a couple of headless Iron Man 3 "Iron Patriot" minifigs off of eBay, and was wondering if anyone might have a spare helmet/visor to trade. I know there are cheap bootlegs out there, but I prefer to keep all my parts authentic, so I am looking for official LEGO parts only. I am looking to trade for either the complete helmet, or just the visor (pic below). I can trade you money, minifigs, LEGO sets, or BIONICLE stuff. I have a decent collection of Super Heroes and Collectible minifigs, so if you're looking for something in particular, just ask. Just to be clear, I am looking for one of these: I know it's a pretty rare part, so I won't be surprised if no one posts an offer. Just figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
  8. Haha, I remember this video from way back when. Always makes me crack a smile. "You are now a snake" has to be my favorite line.
  9. That $10 Unikitty/Batman set shall be mine... Oh hey, Scooby Doo sets. Neat!
  10. Man, it's great to see that this line is still going so strong. I think I'm gonna have to finally branch into Ninjago, because some of these sets are too cool to pass up. I'm loving the whole "tournament" concept, the abundance of dragons, and the "wraith" motif of the bad guys. Glad to see there are some impulse buys too. I was just starting to regret selling my only Ninjago set (2258 Ninja Ambush from 2011), so it's good to see that I have a chance to buy basically the same set again with 70752 Jungle Trap. I only wish I had gotten into Ninjago a bit sooner!
  11. Cool set. I love the minifigs and the function built into the bridge. Glad to see there are some cheap Ninjago sets in this wave. Perhaps I'm also regretting not getting into Ninjago sooner.
  12. Looks good! Color scheme is well-chosen and evenly distributed. Probably the only suggestion I can make is to replace those stray red pins. The legs are my favorite part by far, especially the custom feet. The wideness and flatness reminds me of snow shoes- great for trekking through the ice. At first I thought you cut the Piraka spine, but then I noticed the way you attached it to Zarahk's back. And that gear function is wicked cool. Well done!
  13. Just last night, I posted in this topic about how I wanted a trans-purple Onua mask. And now we have one! Add my vote for some two-tone Tahu and Gali masks. These four are awesome, but a complete set would be... Bad guy sets look a bit wonky, but I'll withhold final judgement until we get better pictures. Also, it's nice that we get Ekimu during the first year, instead of having to wait nearly a decade... I'm looking at you, Mata Nui.
  14. I'm glad to hear that this mask will be made widely available. I can't wait to get a hold of one. It's pretty awesome that after all these years, we're finally getting a classic mask in a new color. ... And I'm already getting carried away with the possibilities here. (Trans-purple Onua mask, anyone?)
  15. Wow! These are some very accurate prints. The Olisi, Mask of Elemental Energy, and Mask of Sensory Aptitude are particularly eye-catching. I like that you even recreated those elusive Blocko masks, which I also wanted to get my hands on as a kid. I'm interested in purchasing an Olisi, and would like to know a few things beforehand, such as whether the plus-rod connection is about as snug as an official LEGO-produced Kanohi. I plan on choosing black for the color, so that I can use it on a bigger variety of MOC's, and would like to know if the color matches the official sets. I know that some colors can look one way on the computer, and end up being more smoky or faded in real life, so I just want to be sure. Also, I second Iben's opinion. If you ever have the time and motivation, some plastic Inika masks would be a great addition. Thanks for sharing these with us.
  16. That was awesome! I love the part where the Toa arrive and the music kicks in. Looks like we're in for a lot of action and suspense. By the way, wouldn't it be great if those Toa "canisters" falling from the sky were actually cardboard boxes, like the real sets?
  17. I remember seeing this commercial as a 10 year-old. My friends and I laughed at how weird it was. Searched for this video a few years back and came up empty. Glad this odd bit of BIONICLE history resurfaced at last.
  18. Deep beneath Antropolis City, Rocka searches for his missing Crawler Machine. To his surprise, he discovers that his lost mech has been rebuilt by the invaders into a four-armed walker... piloted by one of the jumpers! Good thing he brought along his mobile turret and new battle armor! Let the fight begin! "Haha! This mech is MINE!" "Not if I've got anything to say about it!" "Have a taste of this!" "A puny Hero like you doesn't stand a chance!" "And now to finish you!" "What?! No!!" "Your core ought to make a nice battery for my machine!" "Sorry, but you'll have to find someone else to snack on!" "I'm free!" "Say, Hero... How about we bury the hatchet and turn this thing into a combo machine?" "Well, I suppose I could use your help to find my way out of these tunnels." "Wow, it looks better than ever!" "Sure does! You drive and I'll man the turrets." "Welcome to the team, Jumpy!" As you may have noticed, this MOC is built entirely out of pieces from 44023 ROCKA Crawler. It uses every piece included in the set, even the spare gun trigger thingy (See if you can spot it on the mech.) It can also switch between 2-legged and 4-legged modes. My focus was on telling a story through the pictures, but if anyone's curious, here are some shots of the side and back. Comments appreciated.
  19. Just did the same. I have a job and I want me some dang Bonkles!
  20. I really couldn't be more pleased with these sets. Here's why they are great: - The Toa's masks are recognizable. - We get those masks in the original colors AND gold, which is more versatile for MOCing. - The Toa have gear functions! That's going above and beyond what I ever expected to see in a relaunch. - For the first time since 2003, we're finally able to collect a mask in all six colors. (see: Protector sets) - Lewa 2015 marks the first re-appearance of Mata Green in a constraction set since 2003. (I've waited so long...) - We have here some less common colors like Dark Purple and plenty of old and new (!!!) transparent ones. - The Toa have all-around beefy, heroic designs. I don't see any skimpy-armor stuff like we saw on some HF sets. - The sets include enemies, so your Toa has something to fight. - The Toa have dual-function weapon tools, something we haven't seen in quite a while. - There are even a few throwback molds, like Kopaka's Guurahk staff and Pohatu's use of Bohrok eyes. - The sets are vibrantly-colored and give off that classic elemental feel. - Those launchers on the Protector sets are just unbelievably cool. They're like mini-Cordaks with elemental ammo. - No more of those bland white/gray or black/gray color combos. For once, Kopaka and Onua are looking pretty flashy. Overall, these sets give me the impression that LEGO really listened to fan feedback and gave us the best dang sets they could. I'm impressed.
  21. This is great news! I never expected it to return so soon. I'm also pleasantly surprised that the golden Kanohi really did turn out to be the Mask of Creation, as some of us had guessed. Makes me wonder if we'll be seeing a little more intentional overlap between sets and story this time around...? As for the question of reboot/continuation- at this point, I think the odds are much higher it'll be the former. Fine by me, as I'm looking forward to seeing a fresh take on our familiar characters. I'm curious what this means for some of our transformed characters, though. For example, assuming Takanuva's still a part of the story, has he now returned to being plain ol' Takua the Chronicler? As always, thanks to BZP staff for the news. I might have completely missed this announcement without you guys.
  22. WOOHOO! Kiina moment aside, I love the crown-like appearance of the mask. If it ain't brand-new, I could see it as the Mask of Creation. Great news!
  23. BIONICLE sets I own.
