I've seen some of the newer stuff on PBS, and it's not bad. I also saw one of the older ones of BBC America... man, it was pretty bad, looked more like something my friends and I would throw together than an actual professional... when the "building" shook, you could tell the characters were just running to the other end of the room and only the camera was shaking... but it had to be 30+ years old. Maybe technology has improved.

 

Keep in mind that at the time Classic Who was being filmed, the BBC was the best-of-the-best in graphics and effects. And yes, I'm pretty sure technology has improved. =P
