  1. Yeah, the lack of a unified story is one thing I dislike about Korra.  I'm hoping that Book 4 will connect back to previous Books a bit more, and it seems like the Red Lotus might be a partial cure to that (saying that Unalaq was a member to tie in Book 2 and then saying there are still more members out there, possibly to appear in Book 4).  So, maybe if they can bring back the Red Lotus and make the Equalists relevant again...

EDIT: I just found out that it has been confirmed: Hiroshi Sato will return in Book 4.  We can't be completely sure what this means, but I'm guessing it could relate to the return of the Equalists and/or more character development for Asami, both of which will be tremendous.

EDIT AGAIN: Someone pointed out that the trailer Nicktoons is using to promote their Korra marathon actually has a clip from Book 4 in it--very brief, but we see Kuvira and she seems at least a little sinister.  ALSO, there will be a Korra panel at New York Comic-Con on October 9th!  A look at Korra's new outfit/hairstyle was released with the announcement.  There have also been some bits of news about the upcoming game if anyone's interested, and the release date for the Book 3 DVDs (December 2nd).

  2. Well, I don't really think there are too many Megas, I just picked a title hastily. :P I agree that some Mega Evolutions look better than others, but I think it's more a matter of personal taste.  I'm actually really pumped over Mega Gallade and Mega Metagross.  But, that's why we have over 700 of these little buggers: so that there are some for all kinds of people to adore!

Update: Primal Kyogre's move is called "Origin Wave."  More specifics on Mega Gallade (same typing, Inner Focus ability), and a tease saying there's some kind of connection between Rayquaza and Mega Evolution.  I think we all expected Rayquaza to get a Mega/Primal to keep up with Kyogre and Groudon, but it'll be interesting to see what we actually get.

EDIT: Also, English trailer out with all the translations of this stuff, plus the West is indeed getting the special ORAS demo, though we don't yet know when.

  3.

This series is definitely getting dark, but it may be a bit too soon to hand out the title for Darkest Cartoon. (Remember Invader Zim?) Though I'm not sure if this is actually related to Nick taking it off the air, it sure seems like the creators might take this chance to get away with stuff they couldn't do otherwise.  That remains to be seen.

I don't think the Red Lotus really wants Korra dead, even counting "it needs to be done a certain way".  Zaheer mentioned that their original plan was to train Korra, and while they might just abandon their original plan, I feel like they're still going to end up manipulating her rather than killing her.  Not that we have any hint as to what that might be, unless you count "enter the void."  Whatever that means.

Just a few more days and all will be clear...

  4. It'll certainly be interesting to see what other Mega Evolutions they announce, though I suppose it's possible they've shown them all...but, there's also a possibility that a whole new slew will be introduced in Pokemon Z (or whatever it'll be), so even if a Pokemon doesn't get a Mega now it still could in the near future.  And who knows about Gen VII and beyond.  I'm trying to ignore the possibility of Sinnoh remakes with Mega/Primal/Super/Hyper/etc Dialga, otherwise I won't be content with anything...

Interestingly, they've now introduced a new Mega from every Generation except II.  It remains to be seen if Johto gets some love.  Also excited for the Shiny Beldum w/Mega Stone distribution, which will be released alongside the game!  Shiny Mega Metagross will definitely be on my team.

  5. Yeah, Nagisa's story (and the After Story) clearly had the most effort put into them, and the other routes from the visual novel didn't all receive quite so much work.  The Kyo chapter did feel kinda tacked on.  Poor Kyo, even when she wins...

I don't think I actually watched the recap episode, now that I think about it.  Maybe I should do that.

But yes, episode 22 and it's timey-wimey-space-bending-multi-world weirdness is what I continue to rage about.  I should probably stick that in spoiler tags though.

To be fair, it makes more sense in the original context.  In the visual novel, you reach the end of the After Story route with Ushio and Tomoya dying, and then a visit to the Illusory World where you learn that if you can collect all of the "orbs of light", you'll be able to save Nagisa.  You get an orb with every ending, so, after clearing every single ending, you can reload a save file before Ushio's birth, and Nagisa will miraculously survive.  I guess all the orbs Tomoya collected from all the other timelines were all sent back to that one location in time-space...?  It's still a little screwy, I guess, but understandable for a visual novel.

And, yes, it's a happy ending, it's the True End, but I don't think it works for an anime that, up to this point, has been entirely linear.  We've been sticking with one world up to now, with the exception of the Tomoyo chapter; and yes, a few orbs of light do appear in that timeline, but obviously not enough if Tomoya still has to watch Nagisa die.  So...I'm not really sure what happens, but I guess he gets sent back and some extra orbs get added in from other timelines?  Not that we saw those timelines, which are all suddenly important for the first time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: if the point is to "earn your happy ending", I feel like it doesn't work as well when you get to take shortcuts in earning it.  Granted, they couldn't possibly have wanted this anime to go on for a few dozen more episodes to properly adapt every route, but I still find it a bit jarring.

Whew, I need to quit being so long-winded...well, that's my two-cents on the deal.  Not that anyone asked, but I've been kicking it around in my head for over a year and felt the need to write it down somewhere, so here you go.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the series!  To anyone else, I'll back up the recommendation--despite the issues I take with it, it really is a well-made show worth the trouble it puts you through.
