    Bbc 46 Thoughts.

    With the BBC 46 deadline only hours away, I would first like to say that the creative entries over the span of the last 2 weeks are refreshing and exciting. For me this has been the best contest since BBC 38. Secondly, something that kind of bugs me is when people outburst with something like "Wow your gonna win this contest, you have my vote", then another quality entry comes forward and the same person is posting the same thing for that entry. Some builders might take offense to that kind of thing and it is just plain un-professional if you ask me. After 13 BBC contests I have come to learn that you should remain humble and never expect to win. What fun is building and entering the contest if you are expecting to win, no matter how grand your entry may be? Do not get me wrong, building with the intentions of winning can drive one to make something very special and creative, however actually expecting to win just takes all the fun out of it.
     
    Lastly, I would like to point out some noteworthy entries, stuff that really caught my eye.

    Thanksgiving Plans?

    With the holiday quickly approaching, what plans have you for the day? I am planning on first having a big dinner, complete with all the fixin's. Once I have gorged myself Ill be going to bed. The next day I am going to the Washington coast with my daughter. She loves to stroll on the beach and sift through the sand for shells and other neat things you can find there. I am also hoping to travel to Redmond and maybe get a peek at the Nintendo factory there, I will bring back pics if I can get close enough, though given my current situation it is not likely.
     
    Lastly, what are your favorite traditional Thanksgiving dishes? Im just an old fashioned turkey and mashed potatoes guy myself.

    Ah lets see, where to start.
     
    First of all, we are facing a lawsuit against us regarding the property we sold about a year ago. While the deal was in its final phase, there was a big windstorm here and a large limb fell onto our old house, which prompted the buyer to get his high priced lawyers and sue us for about 30,000 dollars. We cannot afford legal and lawyer fees so naturally we lost the case. This morning we were greeted at the door by real estate counsel, telling us to take out a life insurance policy on our elderly grandmother on this side of the family, to ensure payment or the house will be forclosed.
     
    On top of that, things between me and my girlfriend hit a new low last night. It has become apparent to me over the last few months since I returned from my grandmothers funeral that our love has gone stale. I compliment her, shower her with expensive gifts, write her letters asking her why she does not seem to love me any more. Day after day I go to work and my heart aches, most days I am a nervous wreck, she could care less though, never wants to talk about things or make them better. Funny, as soon as I told her I am going to leave (what choice do I have really given our housing situation) all the hate I knew she had for me started coming out then. I am upset and angry also, but I never flat out told her I hate her and other choice explitives she used, I still love her very much. She is laying a huge guilt trip on me about our daughter, why I do not know as I plan on being close by her side until she is old enough to support herself.
     
    So anyway, Im starting to pack up my things now, most of my video games and LEGO Bricks will be staying, I cannot pack a whole lot with me so I am going to give them to my daughter to enjoy. Sadly this may mean the end of my MoCing career for awhile. Ill still be active when I can here but there might be a time that I am gone for an extended period of time. This has been an extremely difficult year for me, but hey the saying goes that which does not kill makes you stronger right?

    Colts Vs Patriots

    Any picks for the big NFL game today? Both of these teams are undefeated and it should be a great game to watch. Im picking the Colts to win, they are currently up by 3! The Pats have looked just plain amazing for the first 8 weeks of the season. As for my teams, well the Seahawks are up by 8 in the 3rd quarter versus the Browns. The Vikings romped past the Chargers , and the Steelers play tomorrow night against the Ravens.
     
    On another NFL note, the Vikings Adrian Peterson set a new NFL rushing record with a whopping 296 yards, all on the ground, for a rookie that is stunning. I wish I had his rookie card now.

    Our Latest Bbc Contest!

    This contest is the best one since BBC 38 if you ask me. You can build pretty much anything and I predict an excellent turnout for this one. I have seen some creative entries already, it is so nice to browse BBC and see something new from our builders.
     
    As for me, I have started my work and I am getting quite excited about it. Ill give you all a hint, I will be entering something big, something bold, and something unlike you have ever seen before. Do not expect to see any spoiler pics in my brickshelf or maj galleries, this is going to be a secret project, well, almost secret, a few of you might stumble across it.

    World Series

    Well it is looking like another Boston sweep, much like they did vs St. Louis in 04. I am kind of surprised really, Colorado had alot of momentum and rest leading up to this. Game 4 is underway as I post this blog entry, if Boston wins they will be the champions, they are up by 1 in the 3rd inning so far.
     
    So I am just curious, do we have any Red Sox or Rockies fans here? Im an Atlanta and Seattle man myself, but I would like to see Colorado win it all this year, as unlikely as it seems now.

    Ugh, Sick.

    My throat, it burns. It is really odd, I felt fine yesterday until about 9pm, when I starting to feel a tight and sore feeling in my throat. Went to bed and woke up much worse. Even a little cough gets my eyes watering and burns my throat severely. Does anybody have a good remedy for a sore throat? Perhaps some kind of medication I should take? I am like an angry bear when I am sick and I do not like angry bears, nor does anyone else!

    Next Project

    So I have narrowed it down, but cant decide which of these Tarakava related projects to go forward with. Then I just figured I would blog it and see what you guys wanted to see the most.
     
    ~ Recreate(as closely as possible) the Sand Tarakava.
     
    ~ Build 2 fully articulated Toa/Rahi using teal/blue color schemes and Tarakava parts.
     
    ~ Build one fully articulated teal or blue titan using Tarakava parts.
     
    Vote now for what you would like to see done. After a few votes I will begin the project.

    Project, Nui Jaga

    Normally I do not post WiPs in my blog but I want some feedback on this project, using the Nui Jaga parts. Im going to build 2 toa, one blue, one purple. I want them both to be short, stubby and fully articulated, which should prove challenging. Both with have projectiles of some type and a tool.

    Best Bionicle Sets Of 2007?

    Now that all of the sets and playsets are available, which do you think are the top 3 sets of the year and why? My list is as follows.
     
    Best set of the year:
    Nocturn, why you ask? Well first of all look at the price and pieces you get for it. Glowing armor and head, leg pistons, neo ball joints, titan hipsockets, lime green spikes and limbs, ice blue flex spines, who could ask for more at 15 dollars? The set itself can be fun also, extra arms and squids!
     
    2nd Place:
    Toa Terrain Crawler This set is a bit expensive but you are getting alot of quality parts. Several glowing pieces, Toa and Barraki minifigs, Zamors, Squids and my personal favorite part, the white Takadox head. If you can afford it you wil not be let down.
     
    3rd Place:
    Takadox Maybe I am a bit biased here but I cannot get enough of the glowing blue and ice blue pieces here. Plus you get the newer slizer foot, (black triangle part) which opened up all kinds of new ideas for MoCing. The set itself is one of the better Barraki sets I would say, Pridak or Ehlek come close but I think Takadox is the best one.

    A New Moc, And A Sad Story....

    As for the story, I regret to inform you all that I have been denied on my quest to NW Brickcon this year. I had planned on going for a long time, after missing Brickfest I vowed not to miss this one. However life has reared its ugly head again and I am strapped for cash since I am still waiting for my old job to call me back to work. Plus the trasportation and babysitting issues are going to keep me at home. That MoC was going to be one of 3 others I had planned to showcase there. My apologies go out to Roa McToa, who I had told I would be attending after her gracious invite. Please do not smite me Roa! I did not want this to happen but I suppose I am going to have to wait for another year. I may still be able to mail in some of my work, I am hopeful.

    Lesovikk At Last!

    Finally I scored the Lesovikk set today. I went to at least 4 other local Wal-Mart stores before I found the set. Here are a few pics I took of the newly opened set.
     

     

     

     

     
    Those Jaller swords are much larger than I thought. Im also anxious to put that lime piraka torso to use. Ill have to be careful with the lime hip sockets as they are very easily broken, I lost 2 from my Nocturn set allready sadly. I have quite a nice supply of lime now, look for a new MoC soon.

    All I can say is wow. This is the first huge scientific discovery in several decades. Think about it, all this time we have worried over pollution and gasoline shortages, could the answer have been the oceans all this time?

    Yea, so I figured I should make an entry for this. I think it is an improvement over my Original entry. Proportions are much much better and I like the head design more also. If deemed worthy, I ask for your votes in the upcoming contest. After missing BBC 45, which was the only consecutive contest I have missed clear back to BBC 34, I am anxious to get right back in to the swing of things.

    Finally Back Home!

    After nearly a month away from home I have finally returned today. I am sad to say that my grandmother died on the 17th of August, a severe case of a bad pancreas, nobody saw it coming and it only took one week. I take some solace in the fact that I was there for her final breaths, holding her hand. Leaving behind my mother and father again was a strain on my heart, but I have to take care of my own child first, just as they would. I did all I could for them in handling all of the heavy lifting and moving of my grandmothers belongings so I can say that I left when all was (almost) well.
     
    So here I am now, back with my child, family, LEGO Bricks and video games. I return stronger I suppose, both in heart and mind. I also managed to pick up several new lego sets and Metroid Prime 3 during my leave. Good to be back, and thank you to all that posted positive comments in my last entry.

    Big Changes

    I got a call from my family on the other side of the state yesterday, seems my grandmother has suffered some sort of medical problem and is in the ICU. I knew this was coming but was not ready for it this soon. Things have really been going badly for me in my personal life lately, I turned down my new job and quit my other one as my mother needs me to help her now. I will be leaving home for, well, Im not even sure yet. My computer access will be very limited over there, so this might be farewell for a long time fellow BZPers. I leave Sunday morning on a plane, leaving most everything behind, even my daughter and wife and it leaves an empty feeling in my heart.
     
    Yet, such is life and we must make big choices then live with them. I will try to return and post every now and again, but do not expect any new MoCs from me any time soon, a shame as BBC 45 has just started. Take care everybody.

    Whats Been Happening....

    Since the downtime of the BZP server, alot has been going on in my world. I may be working 2 jobs soon, so expect to see less of me soon. Just not making enough money to get by these days I suppose. At any rate, more cash = more sets so this is a good thing. I have been offered a job at another local store, it is indian reservation owned though so benefits and vacation/holiday pay are included. Thats alot more than my current job offers. There is no gasoline or propane either which will be a nice escape away from those fumes.
     
    MoCing wise, I have not done much. There is the new blue guy over there, and here is a sneak peek at some more new tools I have made. Scythe, Sword and a cool Shield.
     
    At any rate, it is good see the BZP forums are back!

    Well its that time of year again, the E3 gaming expo! For those who have been living under a rock, see Here. Sorry Czar, I've had to remove the link because of the forums on the site. -Nukora
     
    I see a few major announcements recently, such as Metal Gear Solid 4, and Mario Kart Wii, both of which will be must have games for me. Nintendo also announced that the Wii will soon have a fitness board, a zapper and a steering wheel. Other announcements from today include a newer PSP handheld, with HD video output and an improved battery, which might even persuade me to buy one. Ill update this entry with breaking E3 news and new screenshots when I can. I will leave you with a few screenshots of some of my upcoming favorites!

    Well I got to work today and settled in, little did I know the day I would have.
     
    A truck pulls up to our outer gas pumps, and calls for me to open it. I do, and routinely jot down the license plate numbers, vehicle model/color, and driver description. After he fills about 58 dollars, I notice he is acting strangely and I exit the store to check on him. As I walk up, he starts his truck, so now I know he is going to try and get away.
     
    Probably not my smartest move, but I was angry, I chase after the truck and slam my fist into his window to get his attention. He looks at me with a look of fright, acclerates very quickly, knocking my elbow on his front headlight very hard and drives away like a mainiac. He would have ran me over without a second thought, and nearly did had I not pulled away when I did. I could see it in his eyes that he was desperate, but still I was very angry and my adrenaline was pumping like crazy.
     
    Once I get back into the store, I notice blood coming down my arm, and see a gash on my elbow. I must have been so pumped off the rush I didnt feel how bad the injury was. I called the police, they took a report and picture of my injury. They also told me to never ever do that again. Turns out the guy is an escaped convict in a stolen vehicle. I will be pressing charges if he is found, if the thinks he scared me he is oh so wrong. Quite a day at the job!

    Awesome Joint Design!

    This design is small, fits easily into any MoC, and can hold massive weight. There are a variety of ways you can build off of this but I just included the basics.

    If anybody ever gets around to trying this out, let me know. I think it works wonders for heavy and larger MoCs.

    A Prophet

    Well, thats my take on ol Hap anyway. I always pictured him similar to Mata Nui, a white/silver and slender being. MoC has full articulation, you can read all about it Here. Too early to tell how far this entry will go, but I am hopeful to make the semi-final round of voting this time around. I have a semi-final streak going dating back to BBC 39 so I am hoping to keep that in tact after BBC 44!
     
    One more thing of note, this is my first ever MoC that features the Chrome Hau, that I have owned for several years now.
