  1. Yay for virtual book machines! *highfive*I have a Nook Simple Touch myself, courtesy of the jolly fat man in a red suit with pet reindeer, and I really love it. Tell me if you like it more than a traditional paperback. Also, congrats and welcome to the ECC!

I don't know if I like it more than paperbacks, but it's pretty good so far.

And thanks for welcoming me to the ECC :) .

Go check out the free Kindle books section on Amazon. There's a wonderful amount of good books completely free of cost. :3

I know. That's why I wanted a Kindle in the first place. In fact, I've downloaded several books already (though I haven't read them yet).

  2. It will only open in "Safe Mode," but Safe Mode has none of the features normal mode does and I can't read or write in any of my documents in Safe Mode. And if I try to open it in normal mode, it just doesn't open at all.

Does that help or do you need more info?

Edit: Oops. Looks like Word's working again. Always just has to prove me wrong, doesn't it :P ?

  3. Finally can't wait to read it. BTW are almost done with your chapter our little project? If your not, take your time.

I'm getting close, but I'm feeling sick again, so I may not get any work done on it today.

Uh, didn't Greg release that script for the fifth movie in 2009?Cuz that was like, over 2 years ago. That seems like a long time in internet time.

Oh, yeah. Wasn't sure exactly when that was, but thanks for telling me.

  4. I have actually already finished Inheritance. It's the fourth and final book in the Inheritance Cycle, so I wouldn't recommend reading it until you've read the first three books (of course, it does include a summary of the previous books in the series, so that may be unnecessary).

It wasn't a terribly good book, but it had its moments. It could have been better if Paolini had cut out a lot of unnecessary words and scenes, IMO.

  5. Wow you got a lot on your plate and I eagerly await it all. Dawn of a New Century is especially intriguing but what do you mean by "culminative" fanfic?

In essence, Dawn will be the story I have been unconsciously building up to all of these years. It will be the "end" of my BIONICLE universe, in the sense that the most major and minor plot points are resolved. After Dawn, there will be little room for future fanfics in the Shikaverse, I think. At least, there will be little room for major fanfics that affect the entire universe.

But like I said, that doesn't mean I will stop writing fanfics entirely. I ultimately want to move on to original fiction writing, but I will probably write some more fanfics. Just not as many and maybe some non-BIONICLE ones, too.

Also, it is Dawn of the New Century, not Dawn of a New Century. Just wanted to let you know.

  6. Great to see you're back, Lady K!

Cool to hear you've got a job. Hope it pays well :P .

I've been doing pretty well myself, aside from a small cold that has besieged my family this week. I'm still writing fanfics; in fact, I currently have two epics (well, an epic and a supplemental epic, actually) in the process of being posted at the moment, as well as a short story for the most recent SS contest.

  7. I'm in a similar boat as you, although I do have a basic plot figured out. But really, beyond some worldbuilding notes, main character bios, and the basic plot, I have absolutely nothing planned for this NaNoWriMo.

But that's normal for me, since I never plan out my stories beyond what I deem necessary. At least I don't outline, anyway. I find it more fun to let the characters write the story, myself.

  8. Too bad. Honestly, I wish that public transportation were more common, but sufficient knowledge of driving is, sadly, a necessity. I found the first Heroes of Olympus book relatively underwhelming, but that could possibly just be because I had been reading some really great stuff prior to picking up The Lost Hero. I assume it that you would recommend Son of Neptune. Is that correct? ~ BioGio

Correct. I recommend SoN, since I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Also, yeah, it would be nicer if public transportation was more common. But I live in a rural area, so I kind of have to learn how to drive if I want to get anywhere, heh.

  9. I am definitely going to enter, for I have been doing it every November since 2008. Right now I am trying to decide between a science-fantasy story and a Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic. I really want to do both, but realistically I can only do one. I will probably figure it out by November 1st (hopefully :P ).

  10. Frankly, comparing Hero Factory to Bionicle is like comparing something that we can't understand because we're too old to something that we shouldn't understand because we're too old but we still do because we're obsessed.

Bionicle's quality is seriously blown out of proportion.

    -Dovydas

True. BIONICLE did have a lot of flaws and I can think of several stories that are superior to it. I just prefer it over HF, although I guess it is pretty strange for me to compare Hero Factory - which has only been around for a year and a half - to BIONICLE, which has had ten years. Upon retrospect I really shouldn't have done that.

  11. Survival of the fittest.

Who ever said that a home is safe? Evo and Stormer 2.00 certainly haven't, as they fight a running battle across their owner's house, leaving a trail of crushed plastic and half built sets behind them. Can they survive? Or will the murderous Bionicle sets, led by the merciless Toa Takanuva achieve their mission, and wipe all Hero Factory sets from the face of my collection?

    DO IT. NOW :P .

Oh, and write is a completely melodramatic way, too. Treat it like a real epic except make it stupid, in other words.
