  1. $1050 for the big three: Dark Red Huna Dark blue Mataatu Brown Komau
  2. Ah well, at least I'm only paying $15 for it. I won't hold you to that. I could mail it and you value it later or I could just trash it now. Here's an interesting bit: My son typed the german from the microcomic into GoogleTranslate. You know how it is with GT, but it's pretty clear that the Toa were intended to search out all 12 colors of the kanohi.
  3. It's HERE!!! On my initial inspection everything looks great except Hali is sunburnt. There's discoloration on her arms and body. The red binder might be a fail too. It's color printouts of a Lego.com Bionicle website. Printed in 2001 though. I'll pack things up and get some weights. I'll need some zip codes for calculations, then Paypal.
  4. Thought you guys might be interested. I didn't know if I should post this here where Prints are sold or in Art where Artists are. Probably it should be in both fora. It works on that mask stand (was $37) and the Voriki parts that were $14 The masks by 00dude00 don't work because they are "polished" I'll be getting one of those mask stands and maybe 00dude00 will add unpolished and I'll get one of those. $5 shipping for me. THere are a bunch of other Kanohi and parts there too.

  6. Sure. Start them at a dollar each. Back in the day we played the card game and had multiple copies of all the cards. (except that one. What was it? Card 400 Black Hau??) Somewhere I have an entire TRU event box of Bohrok Awake promo card packs. P1, P2 and P3 Gahlok cards with alternative art. I don't see them on Bricklink. I have not received the box but the total's right so ENDING TOMORROW
  7. I asked if the mask was made of metal and if it was made by LEGO. He responded that the mask was made by LEGO.
  8. Good observation. He bought the Lewa mask even. I guess the "gift" statement is a lie too. Masonkh, how would you feel about telling us his real name and address? It would be fun to mail him a box of feces (or some such thing).
  9. I was playing around (learning about conditional formatting) and it looks like weekend days are better. The auction ends Saturday at some random time in the green window (see the spreadsheet)
  10. It's a thing called a "silent auction". In the real world a number of articles are laid out on a series of tables, side by side. Each item has a sheet of paper next to it with a brief description and a starting bid. Interested people walk around the tables writing their bids on the paper below the previous bids. The exact ending time is not known. People walk back and forth around the tables bidding on the items they want the most. When the bell rings whoever has the high bid on each item wins that item. In the real world it has interesting geometry effects. You can't physically get to all the items at the same time. The tables are set up around the room. You wind up standing near the item you want the most so you can raise your bid if you need to. It makes it so everyone gets a chance at something. I don't know how to replicate this. Something like a "1 bid per 15 minutes" would do it but it's too hard to do. I will end it at a random time between 4 and 5 days after I get the package and post better photos of the items. Maybe sooner if the bids are high enough. The package I got yesterday was a false alarm. Just some bricks.
  11. I've been camping. I received a note from the post office that the package has arrived (needing a signature).
  12. I start with genuine masks then heat them at high temperatures to dye them. Many are ruined by warping or charring. The transparent clear Tahu maks would make a beautiful trans-purple, but I'm not brave enough to try. It would hurt my feelings to kill a $45 mask. Even the trans-clear Kaukaus are too dear these days. So no. No trans-blue anything. I could make metallic purple spider masks easily enough.
  13. I'm kicking myself. Snooze you lose, i guess.
  14. We went there without tickets so All we could get were these Dimensions posters and shirts. I doubt anyone wants those.
  15. My method leaves a smooth finish. Smoother than the one in the picture you posted.
  16. California 90048
  17. The clear NYCC masks started high, dropped to $35, a couple went for $28 and now they're up at $50 pretty consistently. I just paid $35 shipped.
  18. It's called "arbitrage" Usually though it's buy on BL and sell on eBay. Proto Kanohi Nuva anyone? In economics and finance, arbitrage (US /ˈɑrbɨtrɑːʒ/, UK /ˈɑrbɨtrɪdʒ/, UK /ˌɑrbɨtrˈɑːʒ/) is the practice of taking advantage of a price difference between two or more markets: striking a combination of matching deals that capitalize upon the imbalance, the profit being the difference between the market prices.
  19. Want me to make a black Kanoka for you?
  20. Yes, $. Those are just suggested starting prices. You want to bid less? Go for it. At some point the total will be enough and I'll end it. If you're on the list, you get what you bid on. Otherwise not. Thanks Fikou for the good news about the CDs. They're definitely off the list! Do you recognize that Pakari? Was it printed on the side of a cereal box?
  21. The whole EU vs TRU thing is not strictly true anyway. I got a handful of the copper Huna directly from TRU when they were first given out. Most (~10) were translucent but one was opaque. It's in the nature of these things that the expense of the masks is 90% set-up and clean-up, 9% machine time and essentially zero for the plastic. When you make a mask, you might as well make an extra few thousand because they're free. Of course, that kind of thinking leads to ever increasing storage costs. I speculate that Toys-R-Us ordered up a batch of masks to give away so LEGO stamped them out to order. The guy mixing the colors was told "Copper" and that's what he made. He had some already (left over from the EU production), added in some from the new batch and sent them out to TRU. Arguing against a separate manufacturing location, the molds themselves are expensive. I would expect that shipping masks would be cheaper. Of course, I suppose you could ship the molds... but there are risks and delays that way. LEGO does whatever they want though.
  22. Experimenting here...Can we all play nicely? So, I won the German auction with sealed Hunas and other cool stuff. It's been shipped to my Proxy and it'll get here eventually. I made a Google Docs spreadsheet of the stuff I don't put at the top of my list. (I reserve the cereal ad, two sealed Huna and two mini-comics) The rest is up for grabs. Google Docs Spreadsheet supposedly editable by anyone with that link. Go there and put your name in the Bidder column and your bid in the Bid column. If there's a previous bidder, copy their bid and name into the "Previous" columns first. If there are multiples of the item, be sure to replace the lowest bidder. At the bottom is a total of all the bids. If the total is over $120, fikou92 gets a bid-credit of $20, for it's he who found the treasure. That's $120 including his bids. (I'm estimating my costs here and I'm a little unsure how this is going to go, but I think $20 is right). Thanks fikou! This is an experiment and we have a while before the stuff gets to me so try to be calm. Nothing is binding here, of course, because anyone could type anything into the spreadsheet. + shipping of course. I also reserve the right to remove items from the auction if someone has a better idea. (also, if those are Cereal CDs I'm keeping one or both)
  23. That would be me. I'm going to get some Bayer bricks too!
  24. I'll pay if someone can get a Proxy in Germany
