Sorry for my slow response. Regarding the metal masks: I want to sell them, but I also want to keep them. $50 isn't convincing at all. The plastic masks are different. I can make more of the transgerine Miru and I have a batch or the purple Kaukaus from the past (though it would be hard to make another). They're all the same so I don't have favorites. Well some of the infected Miru look better than others. Those can all go. The metal masts are a LOT more work, I can only cast 2 at a time and they have to be finished individually. They are all unique. They have to be sanded and polished by hand. That copper Matatu is never going anywhere for instance. There are three "Platinum" Avohkii... one for me, one that has been spoken for twice, (MC for one, I just don't know what to ask for it, as the only thing I want are GPKK and EV-3s) and one that has defects. (behind Makuta's fingers there were narrow grooves to keep the plastic thin. The plaster in the mold to make those grooves broke free and moved around in the space that formed the mask. They left strange grooves in the surface of the mask" I'm going to make Krana, Copper, Brass, Nickel and Silver. I can probably make those 8 at a time and the finishing will be easier. Those will fe $30 or less.

I used a variety of metals, mostly copper alloys. Copper, Brass, German silver (nickel/copper). Some Sterling and my favorite, Aluminum Bronze which looks like gold and doesn't tarnish.
-
How about a sterling silver krana I made myself? I can give you a bag and a card you can pretend is real as long as you don't look at the back. Top left

Transgerine Miru and infected Transgerine Miru Purple Kaukau, infected and not infected Transgerine Miru, Metallic orange Miru $20 for either of the Trans-orange Miru, $25 for the Purple Kaukau. The metal stuff is here but I'm not so eager to part with them. You'd have to convince me.0 I'm working myself up to making a bunch of metal Krana though.

Sure. I have masks and I've been playing with a new variety... Transgerine Miru What were you thinking of? How about a trans-purple Kaukau?

Official Rare & Promotional Collectibles Topic
Flintsmith replied to Letagi's topic in Buy/Sell/Trade
Just a litle bit of Red Huna lore: The red Huna and the blue Matatu were sold on ebay at the same time... two lots but at the same time. One person must have sold both. I bid on both but lost both. I was then contacted for a second-chance purchase and bought the Metru Blue Matatu I had. I sold it to a character in Hong Kong or Singapore. He was a good guy but somehow was repeatedly banned. He had at least a half dozen accounts or at least different names. I don't remember any of them. (edited to add what happened to my mask) -
He's off the hook. Someone outbid him. $1025 for an Olda set and a TRU case. THat's got to be a new record

I have no idea what it's worth. Probably a lot.

Very nice, that does seem like a very reasonable price given it's very limited availabiliy. Good buy sir! Thanks, but .. DANG! The seller says "sorry that's not the one I have! Oops!" No VIP mask for me. That's so annoying! So the seller just used a random photo then, and not their own? -Letagi He used this photo. I'm not concerned about the money Paypal will make it right

I got a VIP edition of the Comic Con Tahu Mask. A hundred bucks, but it's the only red-stripe one I've seen for sale. #008 of 100.
-
I have two. One sealed and crisp. One sealed and smooshed.

I could probably do better. My daughter is traveling from Los Angeles to Lincoln after Christmas. If I can print UK postage she could hand carry it across the Atlantic and drop it into a box there. If you don't mind waiting til January.

Guess it's not the book your looking for.

3 White Metal Krana Kal For Sell/Trade
Flintsmith replied to Mask collector's topic in Buy/Sell/Trade
Are you talking prices for one or all three? How about a copper (metal) krana and 40 TNGM? (for one) -
All right then. Good luck to you.

My son was 6 in 2001 and we had fun all through the Bionicle years. We went to Legoland often and often won the building contests and Halloween costume contests, I don't think that it's a coincidence that now he's off to college studying Engineering.

I made a stereo video from the spinney https://dropbox.com/s/h392ede3gepzksw/Stereo_Creation.avi 2MB version Their player makes it huge. It looks better small so download it and use Windows Media Player. https://www.dropbox.com/s/m85hvan3ali4vxy/Stereo_Creation.avi_snapshot_00.00_%5B2014.09.21_23.44.15%5D.jpg This was made using ffmpeg. Crop ffmpeg -i Bionicle.mp4 -b:v 6000k -vf "crop=480-170-170:320-30-100:170:30 " -y Bionicle_cropped.mp4 Make the reference ffmpeg -i Bionicle_cropped.mp4 -ss 0 -t 00:00:08.80 -b:v 6000k -y behind0.avi Make the delayed ffmpeg -i Bionicle_cropped.mp4 -ss 00:00:00.05 -t 00:00:08.80 -b:v 6000k -y -vcodec mpeg2video behind1.avi Pad one then overlay the other onto the pad ffmpeg -i behind1.avi -vf "movie= behind0.avi [in1]; [in]pad=iw*2:ih:iw:0[in0]; [in0][in1] overlay=0:0 [out]" -b:v 12000k -y Bionicle_cropped_spin_RIGHT.avi Make a 730K version ffmpeg -i behind1.avi -vf "movie= behind0.avi [in1]; [in]pad=iw*2:ih:iw:0[in0]; [in0][in1] overlay=0:0 [out]" -b:v 500k -y Bionicle_cropped_spin_sm_RIGHT.avi

2) The risk can be made very low. 3&1) It would take ALL the fun out of it. I would be OK with fakes as placeholders but it would be so much cheaper to buy a can of grey primer spray paint. Or just put in grey rubber ones. You see it all the time in museums. The broken pot is reconstructed with plaster of an intentionally different color. Placeholders change the emphasis from the voids to the collection you DO have. It's 100% honest if you say you made it. 100% dishonest if you don't. I really just posted to warn you that if you made the price too high that you might start getting fakes and to watch for discolored parts.

How much are store display cases and stuff like that worth?
Flintsmith replied to UnderscoreChronix's topic in Buy/Sell/Trade
Many times the sets inside the display have been destroyed. They glue or melt the joints so the figures stay in one position. -
True. We're just killing time waiting for the OP to respond to my offer of $1 + shipping.
