  1. Thank you! I would have made the masks available in the metallic materials, but they were modeled with the design specifications of the plastics in mind, and as a result doing so would require a physically different model. I also believe printing in plastic is generally better suited for this type of model because the masks have a lot of details that would likely get lost if printed in metal. What do you mean by "design specifications"? Do you mean wall thickness? Wouldn't that just make them more expensive than they deed to be (because Shapeways charges by the gram and metal is stronger than plastic and so could be thinner than in your plastic-optimized design)? Why would details be lost if printed in metal? I have SO many questions! Thanks. Nice pictures Toa Tupac. I like the frosty-trans look, It cries out for some Sharpie pattern to make it look like stained glass.
  2. What was the price? I only see that the seller accepted an offer.
  3. Thanks Munty, but I got the set that Fikou found. It has one with a Pakari Nuva attached. I wouldn't have recognized it if you hadn't mentioned it though. It looks like it's an activating lever or something on a toy.
  4. They're beautiful. How much would an Ignika cost printed in metal? Can you add some to the shop list? Do you have any idea what Shapeways charges for shipping? You should PM all those people who were interested back in 2012 so they know about this even if they don't log in til June. Do you know of a Blender tutorial that you'd recommend?
  5. Thanks fikou Mfuss lives near San Diego, so La Mesa fits.
  6. Please do. I have only ever noticed the Miru.
  7. That's what happens when you ask for Kopaka for Christmas. masks+sets lot: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-BIONICLE-Original-Rare-Model-Toys-Minifigure-Red-Dragon-Bundle-VINTAGE-/261799725251?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cf47ac8c3 Did one of us win this lot? I'm interested in one of those big Burger King (?) Mirus (messed up the quotes. sorry)
  8. The printing of the light-brown face outline moves around slightly. Part of the eyes are that color so when the face moves right it makes it look like the eyes look to the side. Is that what you mean?
  9. I think this has the pearl Kraahkan. I'm not paying $25 shipping from Canada though.
  10. No. It's an under layer of yellow paint on the disk I tried it on. Next time I'll try it on one of the red/black painted disks. The toothpaste just acts as a fine abrasive.
  11. Rubbing with toothpaste removes most of the paint but leaves a faint yellow tinge, as if the plastic is stained.
  12. Read : Pay me more if you want krana I don't get it. There are krana in the picture. Does she mean to not include them?
  13. If I recall correctly, the white Huna was thought to have come with a backpack in Europe. That never explained why they were so rare though. Let me know if you want to flip it.
  14. Well, maybe not DQ, but sure to lose. The judging... 1) Set choice ... Not a set ... 0 points 2) Figure Pose ... Not posed ... 0 points 3) Ice clarity ... Not clear...1 point for effective back-lighting 4) Name ... Not named ... 0 points
  15. I only affects me in negative ways. I used to have a GPKK Ca that I could trade for a Xa, Za, Yo or Vu I need. Now I don't.
  16. It's not damaged. I'm sure it came from LEGO this way. My hypothesis is that GPKK were the trial batch where they adjusted their conditions (temperature and pressure) to change from rubber to ABS.
  17. I don't know if this is the place, but... A near fail prompted me to closely inspect my plastic krana. I found a few signs of shenenigans that LEGO did. Melted areas, unexplained bumps and most interesting of all, a clear mis-molding. Check out the ears on this Ca.
  18. That's great! Just enough grunge on it to make it looked lived-in. It's a shame it's too heavy to wear. (Not to detract from the mask in any way ..."forged" means it was made with a hammer. This was hand "cast" because liquid metal was poured into a mold).
  19. I think that if you look at the combination of the name and the feedback you can identify unique bidders. While there are many "x***o"s, there are very few "x***o (35)"s, and few of those are interested in Bionicle. Don't we know X***O? Didn't he say here? Of course, not everything people say here is true.
  20. That box isn't in perfect condition. The "Free Mask Pack" sticker has been removed. THose are worth $7, so that powerpack is only worth $2993 tops.
  21. I think it's 17 and a Protector of Fire in 9 orders, but maybe it's 15 in 7. By daughter did it as a birthday present so I'm not sure. I can't decide if that's too many or not enough. It must be perfect.
  22. Yeah, we should figure out a way to avoid helping out stranger-sellers on eBay. Like that Bo tonight. If there were some way we could all trust each other, we could decide who's going to win and just let them have it cheap. Like they used to do with the old-time Federal land sales. Say we all knew for sure that MC was going to bid $400. Anyone who wasn't going that high could just not bid. This is probably an interesting Games Theory problem that has been stumping mathematicians for millenia.
  23. It looks like they're shipping out the 2 / 1 pence + shipping orders. I thought they wouldn't. I thought it was 50/50 for my first order and 20/80 for the others, but it looks like they're all coming!
