  1. Thank you everyone for your interest in my sale. December is here, and I'm going to wrap things up now. I am going to ask for this topic to be closed, and until then I would ask that no one place anymore orders - I would not be able to fulfill them!
  2. It was nice to hear from a familiar character in this chapter - Vakama. I think the way you introduced him was clever; at the moment, we don't know if he is going to be an antagonist or not. As such, even though we are all familiar with Vakama, there is a new dynamic to him that keeps things interesting. It was also nice to see things from a new perspective in general.Nice work!
  3. This game is a stupendous monument to the well-loved classic space theme. Your words "five massive, action-packed environments, a fully orchestrated soundtrack, witty writing, carefully crafted 3D models, and graphics that put Crysis to shame" simply do not do the game enough justice.Surely, this shall be remembered forevermore as one of the greatest fan-made LEGO games of all history.
  4. Good to know. It's funny, LEGO never identified the brown Komau as a mask pack misprint in their online mask guide... I suppose it was simply due to it being less common than the Kaukaus, Matatus, and Rurus, or perhaps they weren't aware of them themselves...
  5. It has never been explicitly stated. The context implies, to me at least, the Ussal may have behaved in a way that could have been considered aggressive by the other team, which led to the specification that if the Rahi are part of the match, the rule doesn't apply. It could have been any number of other things, though, there is no way to say for certain...
  6. The Ruru and Matatu are the two noble kanohi that came out as misprints(in red, blue, black, brown, green, and white) in the mask packs. As for the white Huna, I checked and it was a white Ruru Reya was selling. The white Huna are infinitely more rare, I was under the impression there was only one known to exist. It has been a few years, but I vaguely remember the topic announcing the white Huna's discovery on the old forums. I am 99% certain the member who came to obtain it claimed to find it in the bushes at LEGOLAND Billund.I was not aware that there were brown Komau floating around... I wouldn't think that they came in the mask packs, but I could be wrong.
  7. The only way to download the animations in their original quality is through the BioMedia Project's 01-06 Flash Episodes download on this page. If that link doesn't work, try this. The download includes several other things, but it is well worth the extra download time.
  8. Here you go! I would be more than happy to re-upload the Bohrok comic, too - I was cleaning up my Brickshelf folder when I deleted that as I didn't think it was relevant to anyone but myself. It's nice to hear that I am a reliable source of awesomeness!
  9. Are the magazines back up? That's funny. For some reason, I couldn't see them on the BMP site. :P1. I'm pretty certain I would have remembered anything like this if it had ever happened, but I have a tendency to forget things like that. If there was anything, it was probably minimal and is already well-circulated around the internet. I'll double check and get back to you on that one, though.2. Generally, it's fluff. Brickmaster had a few more in-depth BIONICLE themed features, but I don't think they introduced anything new. Oh wait! I just read your last sentence and that jogged my memory. Yes, there were two (possibly three?) exclusive Dark Hunters in LEGO Magazine. I'll dig those issues out and scan the pages.
  10. Certainly! As a general announcment, I would just like to say that I am still uploading issues and that they will be viewable eventually. At the moment, the BioMedia Project is transitioning to Wordpress, and so they (understandably) do not have the time to add magazines to the site.
  11. I can actually read them without translation. :PI'll post what they say here soon. In the meantime, I think there is a summary on the Kolhii page on BS01. EDIT: These are the translations below:The History of Kolhii Part 1:The first game of Kolhii on Mata-Nui was Turaga Onewa and Turaga Whenua's idea. It was intended to settle a dispute between Onu-Matoran miners and Po-Matoran carvers, after a comment from one of the miners about the quality of certain carvings. The History of Kolhii Part 2:The Po-Matoran took exception to the remark and blamed the miners for poor quality stone. The disagreement escalated until rocks, shovels, and hammers started flying between the two camps, forcing the Turaga to step in and put a stop to the conflict. The History of Kolhii Part 3:To resolve it, they devised a competition, according to 10 simple rules. The 11th rule, or so-called "new rule," was established when some fields began to suffer pitch invasions by dangerous Rahi. The rule was further expanded with the Onu-Koro addendum after an incident involving the local Ussalry during a mounted crab match. The History of Kolhii Part 4:During the time of the Bohrok Swarms, the game evolved into what is now called Kolhii. Many attribute this changing of the game to an incident that occured during the Pahrak invasion of Ga-Koro, when Hewkii used a Ga-Matoran fishing staff to save Macku from a flying rock. Since then, players have adopted the use of the Kolhii stick and the rules have been changed to accomodate it.
  12. The Vorox aquiring the aility to speak was an exciting plot twist! It will be interesting to see how it effects the course of the story.I have a feeling I may be referring back to this chapter often later on, trying to figure who of the team is who in the prophecy.
  13. Ah, I see. Just to clarify, if I am not mistaken it is in fact -Auron- who makes the pdf files out of the scans I upload.
  14. There are no definite plans, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility. I do not know if -Auron- would be interested in hosting any Club Magazines or the LEGO Magazines in between them and MANIA. I do have the majority of them, though, and I'm open to the idea of uploading scans.I think it would be better if I made a descision after the school year has started, so I know how much time I will have to be working with. That way, I can decide if I could realistically undertake the project.I'm not aware of pdfs of the magazines existing anywhere, except maybe the most recent of them on LEGO's website.
  15. I don't have the Winter 1994 issue or the January/Febuary 1995 issue, but I know someone else uploaded them to the internet before and I have the pages saved on my computer. I may upload the pages as part of the archive if I get the original uploader's permission, but until then you may be able to find their original scans (I can't link to them here). Their copy of the 1995 issue is missing a page, the first half of the Adventures of the LEGO Maniac comic.
  16. I recently realized that my post earlier in this thread was incorrect. While 5975 was my first large set, my actual first set would have been 2540, Catapult Cart. It was promotional release with Shell gas stations. I saw the LEGO sign in front of a station as we were driving by, and pointed it out to my parents. We must have been low on gas anyways because we pulled in and my mother went inside to ask about the promotion. She returned with a pamphlet showing all of the sets available, and asked me to choose. I was excited to see that Basil the Batlord, one of my favorite characters from the LEGO Racers video game, was featured in not one but two of the availible sets. I indicated that I wanted 2539 (Flying Machine), which had Basil on a neat flying craft as well as his iconic sword and shield. I was dissapointed when my mother returned with the decidedly less exciting 5975, but it still had Basil, so it really wasn't the worst thing that could have happened.I also remember building the set, and being disappointed by Basil's face when I saw it for the first time. The day must have been quite momentous for me, as I remember it very clearly. The one problem I have encountered is the fact that Brickset states that the promotion ran in 1998. This is impossible. At the time, I would have been two, and probably not yet old enough to articulate the fact that I saw a sign that said LEGO out the window. I also know that I recognized Basil from LEGO Racers. However, that game was not released until the later half of 1999, around the time I got it. I can only assume our local Shell was running the promotion late or something. Or that my mind has created this intricate story by itself, and I was somehow careful enough to keep my first LEGO set complete at the young age of two up to the present.
  17. I am not cetain that I can link to them directly here. Try running a Google search for "LEGO MANIA Magazine 1995" and see what pops up.
  18. I couldn't agree with you more. I suspect LEGO had very little idea of what they had actually done when the created BIONICLE, and as a result handled it improperly, which showed greatly as time went on. Not only did they give out too much story, but I also believe that there was an issue with some of that story being of relatively low quality, due to LEGO's failure to consider why the story was sucessful.I think that this is best shown when you look at the direct results of MNOLG. It was such a sucess that LEGO knew that they did something right with it. But then they brought out Tales of the Tohunga - which I think it is fairly obvious was meant at least in part to pull in the audience from MNOLG, seeing as it was a prequel and used the same protagonist (a protagonist they very well may have created for TotT, seeing as Templar themselves referred to him as 'George' for some time). What TotT shows is that LEGO missed the point. MNOLG was not made great by the simple fact that it featured Tohunga, and that you got to visit every village. It was the story - the wonderfully simple yet exiting story that Templar presented so well. In TotT, there is only a bare minimum of plot - you are on a beach for some reason, and Jala shows up and, in a tone completely out of character, says that Whenua has called for Takua. No reason, he just has. Then you must go to the other villages and do the same tasks over and over. I can't say that I hate the game, but it can't stand up to MNOLG. LEGO assumed since TotT had Tohunga and it tied into the story, it was great.LEGO seemed to be under the illusion that if you tell the story from the Matoran/Tohunga's perspective, it is much better. If you look at the news archives here on BZP, you can see that one of the people working on Mask of Light cited this as a reason for making Takua the protagonist of the film. And yet, the movie does not seem to have a legacy like that of MNOLG. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that a large about of the characters in the film (including the two main roles) are completely out of character?I think, in the end, that LEGO was excited by BIONICLE's success and as a result made some important decisions blindly. They lost sight of what BIONICLE was supposed to be - a story. Looking at 2001, everything contributes to the overall plot from the year. This remains mostly true for 2002 as well, but even then, we had TotT's sequel, Matoran Adventures, which neglected the storyline completely. In 2003 we got BIONICLE: The Game and by then it seemed the standard was set: Don't worry about the story, leave it to the books and do whatever you want for your game/promotion/whatever BIONICLE thing you are producing. This may be in part due to, as you said, the story becoming giant and difficult to control.Reading over this, I see it has somehow managed to switch directions and implies that I think that it was a lack of story that made BIONICLE fall. I'll just reiterate what I do, in fact, think: that there was far too much story, but in addtion it was simply not handled well and there was a lot of negligence towards it in the various forms of BIONICLE media.Okay, the rant is over now. This is all just my opinion (and one based upon assumptions and unproven facts, at that), and anyone reading should probably just ignore it if your opinion conflicts with mine in any way - I'm not trying to attack people who think differently of BIONICLE.
  19. I saw on another topic that the BioMedia Project is getting set to launch it's forums, so the links to the magazines have been removed. If you cannot find them, try Google.
  20. My pleasure! Be sure to thank -Auron- and the Biomedia Project, too. As you can probably tell from his post, he has contributed a lot to making this happen.
  21. I should've edited the first post earlier, but that's fixed now. The magazines uploaded so far are linked to on the bottom of [A page on a website with forums] page, with more coming every day.
  22. The BioMedia Project has generously offered to host the magazines. They will be appearing on [a page on a website with forums] page, and later will find a home on Project Brick when it is launched.
