  1. IC: Matakite The sounds of battle snapped Matakite out of his meditation. He knew it was dangerous to be at the Kini Nui, but when he had chanced upon it in his wanderings and found no sign of The Makuta's forces nearby, he had settled in the brush near the clearing and continued his meditations on peace. He rose and was preparing to retreat into the jungle, when he was surprised to see a Toa of Fire had already dislodged the Infected Kanohi from the Muaka. This was surprising to Matakite. When he had come down from Mount Ihu, it was to find an island greatly changed. New creatures, as well as scores of new Toa, had arrived on the island. The villages had fractured, and now it seemed every being on the island cared only for themselves. Nothing was being done about the growing threat of The Makuta. In addition to this, violence had increased. Matakite found it was common for anything from a heated argument to a full battle to erupt between two travelers over some trivial matter. The island was in a sorry state, and yet here was this Toa of Fire, who would free a Muaka from The Makuta's influence rather than end it's life entirely. "Toa of Fire!" Matakite called out, entering the clearing and making his way over to the group standing around the unconscious Muaka. "You are noble. May I join you in your travels?"
  2. Towards the beginning of the downtime, I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Legoland California for a First Lego League tournament. Luckily we had plenty of spare time and I got to explore the whole park. The Lego Club House had recently been completely rebuilt into a LU demo area, so I took some pictures to share: Faction Leaders Mosaic(Featuring Vander Darkflame, Duke Exiter, and Hail Storm. At least they got Overbuild's name right. )HaelExeter and VandaOverbuildEntranceFake Delivery Truck It's too bad they got rid of whatever was in there before, but at least I got a good laugh at the misspellings.
  3. I didn't play the original game until 2006/7 or so, and the version I got worked very poorly on my computer. From what I've seen, though, the characters were all unique and a lot more lively than in Lego Island 2(whenever I think of a Lego Island character, their original version comes to mind over their version in the second game, kind of odd seeing as I've played the second one a lot more). I always loved playing Lego Island 2, although I could never seem to beat Cedric the Bull and his cannons until more recently. I bought a PC copy of Island Xtreme Stunts, but it always crashes and so I've pretty much given up on trying to complete it. I've enjoyed the series overall, but ironically whenever I think of The Brickster I think of the Soccer Mania game, in which he steals the trophy you won playing the first few levels.
  4. The character I created is, coincidentally, quite similar to Captain Marvel's character, Hari. I was kind of excited about this one, though, so I'm going to go ahead and post him. If anyone is opposed to it, just say so and I can come up with something else. Name: MatakiteSpecies: MatoranGender: MalePowers and/or weapons: Despite having no physical abilities or tools, Matakite’s meditions will, in extremely rare cases, give him very brief visions of the future or an urge to complete a particular task. He believes these to be the direction of Mata Nui, and does little but act on them when they come.Alignment: GoodPersonality and History: Matakite is a Ko-Koronan seer, who studied the prophecies of the Sanctum in Ko Koro alongside Turaga Nuju and his fellow Matoran. Matakite would spend much of his time meditating on Peace, the Ko-Koronan virtue, but unlike his fellow Matoran was happy to share knowledge with any travelers to Ko Koro. When the Toa did not return from The Makuta’s realm and the Rahkshi arrived, Matakite retreated to the highest peaks of Mount Ihu, where he continued to meditate. Recently, he has returned from the mountain and now travels around the island, doing little but continuing his meditation and interacting with anyone who stops to ask him about his strange behavior. Matakite is silent unless spoken to and seems to others to be strange and uncaring, but he truly has a deep care for the island of Mata Nui and its wellbeing. He believes he can best aid it through his meditations on peace. However, the more time he is spending the wilderness and in the villages, the more he realizes that complete solitude lowers his chances of survival greatly. He is attempting to interact more, in hope of making allies or friends, but often finds he has little or nothing to say in a conversation. Despite his strong willpower, Matakite has no ability to defend himself and does not believe in violence besides. As a result, he is often pushed around by the other inhabitants of Mata Nui. It is pure luck that he hasn’t been captured by The Makuta’s forces as of yet.Appearance: A normal Matoran with white arms and legs, dark grey feet and a dark grey Pakari.
  5. Good to see this topic back up. I lack the technological know-how necessary to be of help, but I'm very excited to learn more about the game just the same. Who would've thought, back in 2001, that people would still be discussing a cancelled game made to promote a toy ten years in the future?
  6. Lego seems to be taking a strong interest in better understanding it's community. I was really surprised by the color/personality question- surprised, but happy Lego is interested enough (at least in it's sales ) to learn who their community really is. Overall, a great survey, and I look forward to more!
  7. Thanks! I originally had Lego Racers for Playstation as well. I could never beat Basil the Batlord, but for some reason that never turned into a bad memory for me, and now Basil is my favorite Minifig. Thanks. These really don't have much to do with Lego Universe at all, aside from the use of it's car chassis design. They're really more revamps of the original racers than anything. Thanks! The back of Redbeard's car was one of my favorite parts to design. No sane person would ever use wooden barrels as thrusters. Veronica Voltage's car was the one I was most unsatisfied with once I had finished it. The compact design of the original was hard to replicate, and I got the color scheme way off. It ended up looking very little like the original car at all.
  8. I don't recall ever wanting a set in particular very badly back when Bionicle was still sold. Today, though, my holy grail would definitely be the Platinum Kanohi Avohkii from 2003. There's only one in existence, making it the rarest Bionicle item ever created. It makes you wonder, who has it now? It's probably sitting in the attic of whoever won the contest, forgotten...
  9. Its hard to believe that we couldn't even build Nexus Tower yet when BZP went down... so much has happened since then. Now that I've reached level 45 and given up on trying to get DX gear, I've gone to start work on my FV property. I'm really excited about it, it's an interactive property based around the Alpha Team theme in which you have to reach the top of Ogel's tower and prevent him from launching his Boggle Rocket, kind of like in the Alpha Team PC game. Architecturally it's nothing special, but I'm trying to make it really unique in how it interacts with the player. I haven't really checked to see if something like this has been done before though, so it may be completely unoriginal.
  10. A while before the downtime, the Lego Universe website held a contest challenging players to design their own race car. I came up with the idea of taking Basil the Bat Lord's car from the Lego Racers game and redesigning it based on the template used for cars in Lego Universe. I didn't win, but I had so much fun building the car I decided to do it for the rest of the circuit leaders. That was six months ago. Now that BZP is finally back up, I can share my designs: Captain Redbeard(I don't have a Redbeard figure, so Basil is filling in.) FrontSideBackTop King Kahuka(I also didn't have a King Kahuka minifigure at the time I built these.) Main PictureFrontSideBackTop Basil the Bat Lord FrontSideBackTop Johnny Thunder Main PictureFrontSideBackTop Baron von Baron Main PictureFrontSideBackTop Gypsy Moth(The blue UFO Alien is taking Gypsy's place.) Main PictureFrontSideBackTop Veronica Voltage Main PictureFrontSideBackTop That's all of them. I decided to skip Rocket Racer, as the pointed shape of the front of his car would be especially difficult to copy into this format. Just one more thing: All of the designs are modular and are built on the same chassis. So, what do you think? Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
  11. I wouldn't say my overall interest decreased, but I finally completely lost interest in Bionicle beyond 2004. Not that Bionicle got worse, but it really did change entirely, and I only really continued following the story past that point out of habit. On the other hand, I have gained an increased interest in Lego in general, if that's even possible.
  12. I'm interested in joining the RPG once it's up and running again, the idea of a reboot with a 2001 vibe sounds great. How exactly do I join?
  13. I ended up playing Lego Universe a lot more, but aside from that nothing changed much.
  14. Oh, okay, I was thinking you were someone else. See you in-game, then!

  15. Was that you I made the team with on Crux Prime? Sorry, I didn't recognize you. :P Could you remind me of your username in game, so I can accept your friend request next time?

  16. Oh, I'll have to check that out!

  17. It varies every year, but this year it's all stuff related to the body- there's a shot you have to have to send flying down a ramp, you push a lever and the brain magically opens a door, etc.

What's really funny is there are a bunch of obviously Lego puns hidden on the playing surface. For example, next to the brain is a small picture of an empty room- empty headed.

  18. Recently, I've been working on stuff for First Lego League. Another guy on the team and I are the primary builders of the robot, so there usually something to build. :D

  19. Awww... lucky! I'm using a laptop from 2000 right now. :P

    Seriously, though: happy birthday!

  20. Some relatives are visiting... and... I guess that's about it right now. Anything exiting happening in your life?

  21. @MICRObeta6: They get better and better! I can't wait for more.

@Klaresh: Thanks. I have no idea how I came up with the name, but my avatar is from MNOLGII.

  22. Yes! Its so awesome! Its made me even more excited for the game.

  23. Nice, sounds fun. Of course, you've probably beaten it by now, seeing as I took so long to reply!
