    Don't try this at home..

#1: A thief broke into a car and tried to go through the moveable seat in the back into the car. (So he wouldn't have to break in) However, while he was in the trunk, he managed to close it, locking himself inside the trunk, and since he couldn't get the seat to move....he was stuck..

I wonder how he explained that to the driver?

What if the driver hadn't opened the trunk, and he suffocated? One day the driver opens it and there's some random dead person inside...

#2: Two Arizona Cardinals fans were vandalizing Pittsburgh Steelers fan's property. (The Cardinals are playing the Steelers in the Super Bowl) No one knew who it was. But guess what. One of their "trips" they brought a box with one of the guy's addresses on it. And they left the box there.

So that didn't take long, especially when the guy showed up at the door with a Cardinal's hat on.

#3: A Montana teacher was riding his bike to school. On the way, he plowed straight into a bear. While the bike and bear were for the most part unharmed, the teacher was not. How do you miss a bear in the middle of the road? Or did he just think that bike > bear? I wonder how he explained that one to his students..

"Sorry I missed teaching you, but there was this bear that...um...suddenly materialized in the street, and I couldn't dodge it in time."

#4: At a police station, a 14 year old impersonated a police officer(No, it was not me) and actually went on duty in a car, looking for anyone breaking the law. It wasn't until after about 5 hours that someone finally noticed that this new officer had no badge, no gun, and he was way under age. How do you miss that?

Since TA has apparently taken it upon himself to create rivalries between every other Zehvor and himself, and since that quest will take a while(or not), TA decided to create some other story, which doesn't seem quite as offensive but seems to have something to do with...deadliest warrior.

I dunno. Enjoy if you can.

Today we celebrate Aftermath, which recently hit milestones on post count and view count.

Post Count: 900. I also believe it's now the 8th longest comedy in terms of post count. 'Course, we've still got a ways to go to catch those comic makers and their ridiculously high post count numbers. 1,000 here we come.

View count: 20,000. This was pretty overdue. But good thing it finally happened. So yay.

Thought this was kinda interesting, so I figured I might as well share it with anyone who cares to read this entry. I was browsing the gaming web boards yesterday, and came across someone who thought that Tabuu(the final boss of SSBB's campaign) was a subtle jab by Nintendo at Microsoft.

    Tabuu

Anyways, this is what the guy had to say on the matter:

Thought that was pretty weird, and it made me sorta wonder if other companies do this subliminal bashing all the time.

After playing video games for I don't know how many years and wasting God knows how long of my life on them as well, I've come to the realization that there are just too many spotlight hogs.

I'd be willing to bet pretty much everyone who's ever lived knows of Master Chief, or would at least recognize him in a photo. But how many people know the Arbiter? All of his awesomeness, the energy sword in cutscenes even when he shouldn't have an energy sword, and the shoulder flashlight thingy...and yet he's never gotten even a complementary toaster. How do you think 'Thel feels about that?

Or Luigi, who is still far cooler than Mario? All he's ever gotten is Luigi's Mansion. A freaking mansion that got wrecked in SSBB anyways. I think it's high time he got something more than a stupid mansion for all those hours being the "unimportant" brother. Luigi's Planet should be more like it.

I could go on forever, with Ridley, Ganondorf(not Gandalf) and the other villians, but we'd run out of screen room. The important thing is that for one day, it's good to focus on someone besides the attention hogs such as Samus and Kirby(the evil pink ball of death). So from now on, August 6 is Non-Important Video Game Character day.

Celebrate your non important video game characters!

Been a while since we've done one of these, huh? Before I get into any new gameplay info, I need to say that the story I posted here and on the RPG planning topic is definitely not final. In fact, the last part of this thingy is gonna go a long ways to determine that. Everything else probably stays the same, except I've taken out a few GM controlled "boss" enemies in favor of character vs. character combat situations.

First off is TA's addition to the VFM(Village Friendship Meter). For those who didn't read the earlier update, or just forgot, the VFM determines your standing with other villages, or possibly whole regions depending upon how this whole story goes down.

    TA's Add-Ons
TA's update calls for 2 more levels to each end of the spectrum, which is nice for people who I guess really want to identify themselves with or against a village. My only concern is that this is gonna get too complicated, having to keep track of so many people's standings with different villages, and even more so with two more layers. At the beginning of the game, we'll probably start off with the VFM like it is now(without the last two on each end of the meter), and expand if necessary. I personally don't think it'll be necessary, but hey, you never know.

Next up we come back to the question of multi or uni planet. I know, we had a vote on this earlier, but I'm starting to lean towards having a single planet this time, and possibly multiple ones if we get a sequel or something. In addition, I added a new feature to this uni planet idea, called the Planetary Layers System.

Here's how it would work. The planet(still don't have a name for it yet) would have three "layers" of sorts, and each layer would contain different elementally themed areas. So, for example:

Overworld: Like the name states, it's "over" the "world." It would be a platform above the planet's surface held up by huge metal towers. This would probably be the "jungle" area, as jungle is connected with flight in the Bionicle world, and the platform is about a thousand feet above the surface.

Surface: On the surface of the planet is a few different areas, including ice, lightning, desert, and the top halves of water and earth(dirt). The surface would probably have lots more villages there, as underground is dangerous.

Underground: Under the surface of the planet is also several different areas, including the bottom halves of water and earth. There would be a lava-y cavernous realm, and a gravity area as well. One thing that would be revealed later in game is the presence of a Xenon area, that could possibly serve as a dungeon or something(I dunno, we'll see later)

Progress good? Progress bad? Opinions(and suggestions if bad) please.

Well, I was going to post this yesterday, but Yami was having a field day with the BZP server. Anyways, RPG design is ongoing, but it mostly consists of just writing the actual thing now. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Anyways, we're(I'm) bored. Any suggestions on what do do?

So far, here's what we've got for enemies.

Grix: Large earth giants. They have no elemental powers, but have great endurance and strength, as well as an Anteaus-like ability to almost always get back up. the use pistols and cannons as weapons.

Xan: Black fire Giants, cousins of the Grix. They can use elemental powers, but are weaker than the Grix. They use swords and rifles. they are also an aggressive species.

Terna Scouts: Xenon infused alien species. Lightly armored, but pack a punch.

Terna Soldiers: Heavily armored, dish out lots of damage easily.

Heartless Minions: Minions of the Deavum Omega boss, Heartless(blame MoC for the bad name). Shatter easily, but come in lots of numbers.

Gamma Turtles: Getting close to the fine line between regular enemy and mini boss. Gammas are strong and durable, but also move slowly and make for easy targets.

Delta Turtles: Much quicker than their Gamma cousins, Delta Turtles can't take the beating that Gammas can, but they are much, much harder to hit.

Mesonaks: (Just...don't ask) Mesonaks are...well...Mesonaks. You can probably fend one off with a Coheed and Cambria Album.

Xenon Terna Scouts: Have a tendency to sneak up from behind and alert a group of Xenon Terna Soldiers down the road. Killing one isn't all that difficult. It's finding them in the first place that's hard.

Xenon Terna Soldiers: Usually herd together in packs. Incredibly durable to kill, unless a weak point is found.

Alpha Turtles: Not good news. Hard to kill.

Alpha Epislon Turtles: Even worse news.

Omega Turtles: Screw it. Just run.

(Feel free to add your enemies here)

This pretty much sums up my feelings on it.

    and this....

Anyways, now that the U.S. is gone from the World Cup, soccer fever is officially gone here. To the U.S, I say good luck in 2014, and please, please, stay away from Ghana.

Walked past my dad watching the news this evening, and I kinda found it funny how the first thing out of the reporters' mouths was "LeBron." It wasn't our failing economy, it wasn't the homeless rate in America, it was LeBron. And it kinda annoyed me that while so many people are homeless, all we care about is...freaking...basketball. I love sports more than anyone, but seriously, this is ridiculous.

Excuse me while I go buy a plane ticket to Australia, a place that I'm hoping has it's priorities straight(even if it is filled with vegemite)

(I hope this doesn't qualify as political)

    Ono it's a drawing.

Anyways, we're not having the huge planets in the RPG just so our map looks good. Each planet(and by each I mean 2 or 3 out of 5) will have villages/cities(depending on their level of technological evolution) that you can visit to find things like info on where to go next, items to purchase(such as lowering Xenon levels but we won't spoil anything), or perhaps a person you need to talk to. Now, of course, the village will start off being very wary of you, if it's not your home village(which we'll discuss later).

Enter the Village Friendship Meter, or VFM, designed by Tenebrae Invictus.

When you first step into a village not your own, the inhabitants obviously won't know you, and therefore will only allow limited access to the city itself, including blocking off access to those you may need to get information from. How do you gain access? By doing favors and increasing your standing in the meter. Each time you do a favor, your VFM level for that village increases by one. With enough favors done over time, you can boost your standings to a level high enough where they practically let you do anything you want there.

This has a flip side, however. Each city/village will have rivals on it's same planet, and when your VFM goes up for a city, it will go down for that city's rival(s). Eventually, you can get into such a bad standing with them that they won't even let you into their city at all, so the VFM will be something to watch carefully in game.

I aired the first part of a gameplay demo of the RPG on a non BZP site yesterday, and it got a pretty good reception(except Blackout was dissapointed that his pet got stolen by TM). So far, it's looking like it's gonna be a pretty free range RPG, with open planets and stuff.

The only thing that I was able to air on time was a underground/acidy dungeon type place, and it worked out really well IMO. The platform jumping worked out nicely(using numbers to choose which platform would be jumped on). The spaceship(which will be called the Tecerra 7) added a nice touch as well, as people got to travel to different landing points and explore the planets from there. Another plus was the use of the Frost Beam to do stuff like freeze over a layer of rising acid or lava.

Didn't get to much planet exploration, sadly. I'm expecting to test some of that later with a demo crowd. It should be free exploration, as I said earlier. Multiple cities on each planet will mean many people to talk to, as well as people to possibly purchase items from, including longer attack times and the likes.

Boss combat is looking like it'll be turn based, or as close to that as I can get it. The two bosses I tried out last night worked pretty well. I'm still trying to instate a counterattack feature, but that's looking like it's gonna be difficult considering that BZP is a forum site and not a chat.

Space travel looks like it's gonna play a relatively minor part. Other than using the ship for traveling to other planets, it seems like it's not gonna be used at all.

Updates will continue as we demo more stuff.

This is a bit of an odd move for us, something we've never done before, so I assume it'll have some mixed reactions, and possibly a crash and burn ending(though I hope not). That said, it has a potential for a great turn out, and a chance to establish ourselves elsewhere on BZP than the comedy forum, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

We are going to design an RPG for the Winter contest.

Doing this just by myself is pretty troublesome, especially with the size I'd like to make this thing, so right now I'm currently looking for people to help out. Here's what we'll need:

Character Design: (Designing friendlies, enemies, bosses. Probably will entail some MoCing)
Cartographers: (NOT Halo Sonu. Anyways, mapping out regions and planets)
Gameplay Design: (Basically working out the kinks in how the game will be played if it goes through voting. May include powerup design if that idea goes through)

    STORYLINE:
The RPG itself takes place 10,000 years after Makuta's death and Mata Nui's...um...trip to the Wizard of Oz or wherever he went. Anyways, during that time, the Matoran and Toa on Spherus Magnus have evolved into a space faring race, constructing massive spaceships to leave Spherus Magnus and visit the area beyond. They encountered new species on some of the planets, and, due to the wise leadership of Turaga Vakama and Dume, they managed to make peace gaining various new allies such as the Terna, a technologically enhanced species of aliens.

Except that peace never lasts, or we wouldn't have a story. Recently, the Terna have apparently dropped all forms of communication with the other allies in the planet system, and have begun to use their technology to destroy the other species and wipe those species' home worlds clean.

To respond to this threat, the inhabitants of Spherus Magnus, relying on their good relations with the Terna, sent out several powerful ambassadors, including the previous OoMN member Trinuma and the Glatorian/Toa Gresh, to try and reconcile their allies. All of the ambassadors have disappeared, and the Council of High Elders, the ruling body of Spherus Magnus, needs someone to travel to the planets and figure out what went on before deciding to declare war against the Terna.

Enter...the player(s). The players will be given a spaceship to travel around to several worlds to try and find out what happened to Gresh, Trinuma, and others...and why the Terna have gone crazy. The farther progression in the game goes, the more planets(and landing sites on those planets) will be open to travel to.

Anyways, with that said, I've got most of the planets figured out.

Planet 1: Spherus Magnus(really only used for mission briefing and stuff, although it does play an important role mid game)
    Planet 2: Valderra(sort of a desert/fire planet combo)
Planet 3: Acrilos(ice surface, but a lot of underground exploration makes this more of an Onu Koro than Ko Koro planet)

More planets are hidden due to (SPOILERS REMOVED).

Anyways, if anyone wants to help, send a PM my way or post here with whatever category(ies) you'd like to help in. Any help is appreciated.

I'm currently taking a break from the RPG designing process to try and figure out some way to bring the Zehvor back as a team, and particularly mend the friendship(or lack thereof) between two members that I won't mention. Sorry if this inconviences anyone.
