  1. First random for the new year. You just lost the game You just lost the game has 1222 posts (3 Star Rating, 2114 Profile Views) and joined BZPower 2-July 08. He is currently most active in Completely Off Topic. He has an avatar and signature further reiterating that I lost the game, is where he belongs, likes Halo and Dead Space (I think), among things, and wrote his interests info almost as if it was actually tailor made for me (Phyoohrii). Clearly I need to go home and rethink my life. He last visited on the 28th of December 2011, and his birthday is the 16th of July 1998. The Game is so old, geez. Here's a young banner. BZP Member List Trivia: There are (at the time of writing) 76 members starting with Y that have more than 10 posts. Of those, only 6 have posted since BZPower has returned from the upgrade. Another 197 have less than 10 posts. That is a total increase of 17 members since the 19th of February 2010, and 39 members since the 20th of June 2008.
  2. Check it out! 2012 Calendar project worked on by a number of people. It'll feature a piece of great art from truly great artists (and OK art from me) every month. We start off with Vezok's Friend and his amazing 'Wintry Mix'. Particular mention should go to MatoroIgnika, 55555, xccj, ToM Dracone and Metax for being the ones that put things together as they look now, it all looks fantastic. Yeah, I thought I'd go ahead and plug it, if that's OK with you.
  3. It's a new year. If last year is anything to go by, it'll be over before you know it. That's just a little bit crazy.

  4. I had a good time. Talk later.
  5. Wait, an entry has been posted? But I'm not currently here, let alone near a computer! That's because (here comes the twist) this entry...is from the past, sent forward into the future by roughly 1 day and 23 hours. Technology is amazing. QSKSw QSKSw has 878 posts (4 Star Rating, 1225 Profile Views) and joined BZPower 11-March 06. She is currently most active in BIONICLE Sets & Collectibles, but used to be most active in Completely Off Topic. She has an avatar of a Matoran-like drawing, has LEGO.com, MSN, Yahoo and Skype accounts, and claims to live in the Nether. Nope. She last visited on the 14th of December 2011, and her birthday is the 19th of June 1992. Cool. Here's a quarantined banner. BZP Member List Trivia: There are (at the time of writing) 36 members starting with Q that have more than 10 posts. Of those, only TWO!!! have posted since BZPower has returned from the upgrade. Another 87 have less than 10 posts. That is a total increase of 3 members since the 28th of May 2010, and 14 members since the 1st of August 2008. That's right, this week was a choice from out of TWO!!! Rather than using my usual random interger generator on random.org, I just flipped a coin, for real. Sucks to be the other guy. Oh well, that's just how the year ends, you win some, you lose some. I shouldn't be typing in this section for so long but who cares this won't be read till the FUTURE anyway. So guys, remember how awesome the 28th of December was? I certainly do, because it's right now. But it's not for you, is it, oh no. You have the dark and uncertain future to deal with. How does THAT feel? The past is so much better man, and the worst part is, you know it's true. But you can't go back to the past, only move ever onwards into the future, on and on. The past is dead, and I'm just a reminder or how great two days ago really was. So try to enjoy the future as much as you can, if possible. I'll join you later, in the new year.
  6. I won't be here from tomorrow (the 29th) till New Years, as once again going to Falls Festival in Marion Bay. Really looking forward to the lineup this year, and tons of people I know are going, so that's great. Should be good. I won't give a wrap up of the year, because you've mostly missed out on my year anyway, also not really much to look back on. Interesting year to say the least. But I have a good feeling for next year. Twelves always seem to have some importance to me (hence my lucky number), so I'm counting on it being a good one. We'll see. I attach myself to numerology to much. In any case, I'll see all you guys and girls in 2012. Be wonderful to each other. Have a safe and fun New Years.
  7. Roablin, you totally should. Of the main 21 (America through Picaros) you should read all of them, haha. Probably shouldn't worry about the two early [black and white] ones (Land of the Soviets or Congo, both of which are a little racy, but I still like them) or the unfinished Alph-art (if only that had been completed!).
  8. Obvious ones I would recommend would be the ones mentioned above, particularly Unicorn. However, if you want to go into it more 'blind', probably the best ones to recommend are Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun (need to be read together), which are pretty typical Tintin fare, and closer to the same era as those in the film. Land of the Black Gold and Red Sea Sharks are also two favourites of mine that are pretty typical. Tintin in Tibet and Flight 714 are probably my favourites overall, but they're not a good representation of the full set. Cigars of the Pharoah and Blue Lotus are good early ones. I'll stop typing before I recommend the whole series.
  9. Saw the Tintin movie today, which is based off of The Crab with the Golden Claws, Secret of the Unicorn and a little of Red Rackham's Treasure.
  10. The search feature, especially for blogs. Before it had the problem of only showing the most recent result for blogs, now all the results are available, and the search layout is good to use. Searches comments too, which is a bonus. Much easier to find stuff.
  11. That's why I don't, anyway. The one day of the year that I don't use any computing device by choice. Anyway, I could talk about how awesome the day was, and all the loot I got, and numerous other things, but I'll be talking about one thing, this particular gift I got. I instantly fell in love with this set when it was announced on here during the downtime. When the forums came back online, I pretty quickly expressed my excitement for it. And yeah, I have it for Christmas. It is glorious. It's a very solid design, and all the features are pretty nifty. It's a really fun model, and very well designed. Most importantly, it basically fits all my interests in some way (60s, music, vintage, cultural icons, red, LEGO, interactivity...) I just can't help looking at it's beautifully bold design. Probably the most interesting thing is that it took me ALL DAY Christmas day to build it, which has never happened for me before. I attribute this to a few things. One, obviously I had to stop for Christmas lunch and dinner, obviously, as well as watched a couple of Chirstmas specials for things. Two, this is probably the biggest set I've ever got on a piece count basis (1332). Thirdly, I'm very much out of practice. This is the first LEGO set I've got since Christmas 2008 (Vultraz and Takanuva), and more importantly, the first System set since 2005! But as such, it was a really great building experience, a real time consuming effort and you know you're making something that you will really like...it's quite fulfilling. I'd forgotten how good it was. This won't get me back to buying LEGO sets again, but yeah, a really satisfying experience. EDIT: Oh yeah, I was tempted to flip the design turnways so that the steering wheel and stuff would be on the right hand side, to match cars that are down under, but I figured for now that would be too much work. It's cool as it is. Anyway, yeah, so I had a great Christmas, a lot of fun, some truly remarkable gifts (really high calibre on a sentimental level), amazing food as usual, just basically a wonderful time. I'm going into this final week of the year with quite a bright countenance indeed.
  12. Duck is tastier. Hee hee haa haa hoo hoo.
  13. This is now my favourite "funny" flash. Or it's at least a tie with the combo of the Dad's Room flash and the original Mental Breakdown flash. My gosh, I was beside myself with hysterics after it, and even more so after the Easter Egg. Aahahaha.
  14. Illustrator does this for me all the time. It only ever does it when I forget to save as I go. And I never learn.
  15. That and I always say it as if it's in capital letters for some reason, mostly that's because that's how I always type it on here. I.e. I'm an COOL DUDE. The other things I don't do. Though I'm sure BZP is in my top 5 anyway.
  16. We're back to thiz again. And again with the American zpelling of "Alphabetized". That could only one letter to ztart off with...the lazt one. zacharyd97 zacharyd97 has 14 posts (5 Star Rating, 68 Profile Views) and joined BZPower 7-November 11. 17. When I used to do comics regularly, I started out by using MS Paint and used Rayg 2.0 sprites, with sometimes making gradient backgrounds with MS Word of all programs, haha. Then I got Photoshop and used that mostly. Most recently I used Photoshop with vector stuff I made in Illustrator. That style I would like to do more with.
  18. Not really interested, since I don't buy any LEGO anymore anyway. If the story gets updated though I would be filled with joy.
  19. It's neat, we need Tohu in our lives. It fills my small heart with joy, swelling it to three times its original size. Needs his avatar back though.
  20. I usually definitely do it once a week because I have to, mostly with little to no success. But yeah sometimes I do it when I'm particularly intrigued by a banner or avatar. If it's some video game or anime or something I usually don't bother, because my knowledge of either is particularly small.
  21. Going by the trailer, that seems to be heavily implied. I don't even remember that being a thing. Hmm.
  22. I read somewhere that was half the battle, ie not demonising the ring so much. It's going to be difficult, because it's so ingrained in our minds from the movie trilogy that it is such a terrible evil. This is particularly a problem for those silly people who haven't read the books as well, and know that the Hobbit doesn't put nearly as much emphasis on how evil the ring is, but it does elude to it being shifty, from memory. But yeah, I hope they do that well. It's an added problem knowing how fully rounded a character Smeagol is, when in the Hobbit it's not like close to that. The two will be the biggest problem for the films, everything else will be sorted by itself. Also Jackson will make the films drag on forever as usual but oh well. Anyway, yeah, Howard Shore is doing the music, so yes!
