  1. 1. When the forums just got back up and there was a lot of activity and that Title Twisters contest was awesome. :P2. Five years and two months. I've actually only really been active since the forum restarted.3. No, THIS should have been the first question. Just to mess around.4. I'm pretty much always lurking, but after my first year or so I didn't really post at all until the big downtime. Since then I've been relatively active.5. More so.6. Yeah, it's a different atmosphere since the downtime, and it's a bit unfortunate. Even since the very beginning on the new forums.7. I think so yeah. It still would be at this point, at least. And we'd still have topics talking about the dreaded and unknown 'end of Bionicle'.8. Not enough redundant ones methinks. 6-3 on-topic to pointless isn't quite enough. 6-4 might do it...:P9. Yes. Yes I do. I can feel it now man...
  2. Honestly I think with a couple improvements and more content, that Hero Factory Breakout game could be released to more success than Bionicle Heroes. I'm not a huge fan, though I think it's worth a playthrough for a diehard Bionicle fan. The music and atmosphere are really cool, even though the game significantly lacks in gameplay.I really should try the DS version someday. The problem being I lack a DS...
  3. I like my member title. Lightning Voyager...has a ring to it...

  4. I liked Hydraxon and Axonn both a lot, but honestly, probably Brutaka. One of the few sets I really regret not getting, Brutaka had a really cool character arc, and I really loved him in FoF.He kinda reminds me of Boyd Crowder from Justified......no? No Justified for anyone?...well then.
  5. I plan to check it out before too long. Once I'm done The Witcher. Also, considering a lot of the stuff I've been reading recently has a pretty big cast, I'm not too concerned about your single criticism.
  6. Rhinos and Wolves are both suitably cool animals. Thus I really like the look of this thing. You've done a good job with the design of...everything, but I especially notice the nice touch of the hooves. Well done!
  7. It's very sleek, as most of your stuff tends to be. I really like the idea behind it, with the protector of the kid in his dreams thing. Overall, the design is real cool, and I like the name. Good work!
  8. That video basically makes the 2007 story for me. The classic gearin' up scene, gunfight with sharks, driving little surfboard thing into Gadunka's mouth, Hydraxon being Clint Eastwood, slow-mo Maxilos vs. Hydraxon action shots, nice Daughtry/E&M music in the background, everyone's accents. Holy man, watching that a few years after it's release. I think extreme is the only real way to put it.I guess I'll actually put a few of my personal opinions here. I adored, and still adore, the first two year's finales. The MNOLG version of the Mangaia fight is nostalgic and still gives me the chills. Love it with a passion. Additionally, the 2002 made for a great sequel to that. The year still involved the whole 'collect all these things so you can face the big bad', but I think still kept it interesting. The finale was like that too, I think made even better by the presence of Exo-Toa armor. And of course, the came up with another Takua plot to coincide with it (which was NOT as similar to 2001) and that was great.I don't care all that much for the Mangaia duel of '03, but I liked the final confrontation with the Rahkshi. I'm not sure if the story would have been better or worse with a final death for Jaller, but meh. I think the real highlights of 2003 were the attacks on Ta-Koro and Onu-Koro, which set up this feeling of impending doom. It just kept getting worse and worse, with Toa fighting Toa and Rahkshi beating Toa senseless.2004 and 2005 were different from previous years. The former was a smaller scale, personal rite of passage for Vakama. And it wasn't just a brawl, more trickery and craftiness than anything. '04 was a cool year because of the various adventures it held BEFORE it's finally. They had a big battle with Morbuzakh as their rite of passage, conflicts with the Vahki, Krahka, and the Dark Hunters all leading up to this little shell game between Vakama and Makuta. 2005 on the other hand, had a lot of different media talking about a lot of small battles and such the Toa took part in. That all led up to one of the biggest battles in the series, the awesome siege on the Coliseum (exactly the opposite of the 04 finale). Say what you like about 2005 but it was a really cool fight, mostly serving as a background for the Vakama/Matau battle of the heroes totally not inspired by Star Wars the same year fight. So yeah, cool stuff for both years.'06 had kind of an anti-climatic finale. I think I would have liked it better if it was less Vezon vs. Piraka and THEN Vezon vs. Toa, and more Vezon vs. Piraka vs. Toa. Anyway, 06 had a variety of Piraka fighting stuff fight scenes that were all real cool, and the Axonn vs. Brutaka duel with the whole Axonns a champion I pity the foo who's not Axonn thing going on. Great year. Bit of a strange finale.I've talked about '07, the poster above me has talked a LOT about 07, moving on. :PLater years I just didn't think capped off their years quite as well. I liked the final Karda Nui battle, and I liked the big brawl at the end of '09, but I don't think they had quite the same touch as previous years. I preferred the Raid on Vulcanus, which had plenty of cool strategy and build up through that pretty epic book, something not really present in earlier years. In 2008, I liked the Dark Mirror fight. Greg could do basically whatever he wanted with whatever characters he wanted, and it turned out a lot darker than the other work. It was cool.In 2010, I have to say the primary highlight was the robot fight. I'm iffy about all the Glatorian and Toa action going down beneath, but I think they finished off Makuta in one of the best ways possible, and (spare me the physics improbabilities) I liked the idea of universe-robots going at it. Sue me.So...that's all I really have to say now.
  9. Alright so...2001: The Toa Mata enter Mangaia and do battle with Shadow Toa, Manas (as the Kaita!), and the Makuta himself. While this occurs, the Matoran of the Chroniclers Company hold the line at Kini-Nui and in the final stretch are backed by the various village guards across the island.2002: A pitched battle with the Bahrag (inside AND outside of the Exo-Toa), coinciding with the Matoran defense of Ga-Koro.2003 (Skipping the Bohrok Kal since there's nothing really there to speak of): The anticipated final confrontation of the Makuta and the Toa of Light. Also the final fight with the Rahkshi, involving the tragic (though temporary ) death of Jaller, which is probably more relevant in this topic.2004: The mano-a-mano duel between Makuta and Vakama, with dying Turaga, invisible trickery, and messing with time.2005: Although the year was received somewhat coolly, no one can deny a pretty epic siege of the Coliseum undertaken by the Hordika. Spinners. Everywhere. Also, Star Wars-esque emotional Matau vs. Vakama.2006: The collision point of the Inika, Piraka, and Vezon at the Voya-Nui story conclusion. One might also count the Inika's earlier ventures through the chamber of life, and the duel between Axonn and Brutaka.2007: The magnificent deep-sea final battle against the Barraki, which basically started when the Toa exit the Terrain Crawler, so I'd count all that. Contains Matoro's infamous sacrifice at it's conclusion.2008: The namesake 'Final Battle' or 'Battle for Power'. Axalara and Jetrax, Makuta and Toa flying every which way, energy storms, all that stuff. In the long run, everyone loses.2009: The rather silly duel between Tuma and Mata-Nui, followed by a huge melee brawl which pretty much makes up for the former.2010: Shouldn't really count because this year basically WAS a big battle, but uh, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots was pretty cool. :PCan you tell I got a bit lazy with the EPIC descriptions by the end of it? Anyway, each year ended with some kind of epic battle usually involving Toa and destiny and powers and stuff. What were your favorites and least favorites, which do you think capped off their years well, which ones did you find to be let-downish?I feel like I should also mention some of the other big battles that were also suitably epic but were not at a years end, just for additional discussion. This includes the Battle in the Great Furnace, the Bohrok Seige in Le-Koro, the Rahkshi attacks on Ta-Koro and Onu-Koro, the Tower of the Toa Battle, the various Karda-Nui Skirmishes, the Piraka Fortress battle, the Raid on Vulcanus, and the rather dark colisseum battle from Dark Mirror. Which amongst these do you remember enjoying the most? Are there other, smaller ones you enjoyed?I think I'm making this discussion a little too open to be pollified. Anyway, discuss!
  10. Sleek, simple, solid. I like it. The brightening color effect seems to have worked fairly well. It still has an avian sort of style to it if you ask me. *Shrug*
  11. MNOLG (especially minigames and animations) and the Bohrok animations. Seeing first previews of new sets in the BZPower gallery. The first two movies. The old website. Chilling with my brother, setting up massive battles with all of out sets in the basement.
  12. It's a bit bizarre and the software is pretty crude for drawing....I quite like it and I'm not entirely sure why. XD
  13. Looking to maybe write something involving the Lo6K and multiple allusions to Clint Eastwood. Anyway, looks like fun!
  14. Though I'm sticking by that opinion from the other topic, I think 2006 takes second place. New and old mixed together and it's all great.
  15. I like the little differences. Like how you call a quarter pounder with cheese a 'royal with cheese'. And a Big Mac is Le Big Mac.Erm...I mean.I like how we've got rock solid rules with no misconceptions, but the mods aren't stone cold hardcases. I like the library forum, and all the real nice folk in there. I also quite like contests. Mostly library ones. I like watching the other ones.
  16. Probably a question:A: Already answered. Possibly multiple timesB: Somewhat frowned upon for controversy.C: and hopefully any conversation can stay appropriate for the forums. But we all know Matoran are built, right? Constructed...and eventually die of old age. No reproduction amongst the matoran species, and we've come to assume the same of most of the natural MU species.So...what about the Agori...and the Glatorians? We know they eventually die of old age. We know they're very organic compared to various MU species. We know some are considered younger than others. (Certavus is older than Ackar is older than Tarix is older than Gresh, right?) So...has it ever been confirmed if there's any reproduction amongst their species?BONUS QUESTION: Can unemployed or pre-shattering Glatorians be referred to as Glatorians or must they be the 'warrior caste'?
  17. The Makuta. Teridax. One of my single favourite villains of all time. From one of the greatest introductions ever, to what is undoubtedly the worthiest death they could have given to such an epic villain, Teridax made the whole plot that much better. As for the various 2008 Makuta, Krika was an interesting character, but I'm not sure I'd call him my favourite. I think as far as rogue Makuta I preferred the plot of Miserix. I wasn't a huge fan of the Icarax set, but I liked his character. Same applies to Antroz actually. Vamprah was probably my favourite design of the '08 Makuta.
  18. I actually felt the Toa Mata were the most developed of the Toa teams. We got such a feel for each of them and an in-depth 3-dimensional personality. I'd probably specify 2001, since it was the introduction of the Mata, and numerous other loveable characters. Taipu, the absent-minded adventurous miner, Tamaru, the Le-Matoran afraid of heights. Hafu, the arrogant but well-meaning carver. They were all great, and while later years built upon them, 2001 is when were first immersed in their ticks and quirks.
  19. Dude, my point is a mile away from that. My point was being unappreciative of every update we're given makes it less likely that we're ever gonna see a serial update or something that furthers the story a little more. Greg has shown before on more that one occasion that if when he recieves ridiculous amounts of negative feedback, he becomes less inclined to actually share anything. I amost definitely not insinuating that this is the best way to wrap up the story. I'm saying if you don't want the Bionicle story to get left like this, show a little appreciation for this update and it's likely 'more news' Erebus promised in the first post will actually happen. Hopefully, amongst that news, new serials to tie off the end of Bionicle.'False hope'? Honestly, that's just being pessimistic. A few years back Greg temporarily left BZPower because people were being seriously overly critical of him. You start saying things like that, you're looking to never get the ending that you (and I, and most of BZPower) actually want. (Not implying Greg is reading all the posts in this topic. Just saying that kind of attitude doesn't help us as fans at all.)
  20. So...to all the people who think the update is pointless and all...could you possibly think of a better way to ensure we don't get any more story stuff? It ain't over 'til Greg says it's over. So...get quiet maybe?
  21. It works and you are a beautiful man. Thank you. This can be locked now.
  22. Since there's some people on this forum who cannot even be described using the term of 'tech-savy' because it's too low key, I thought this'd be the place to go. You know how you smart guys are always finding ways to play old Lego.com games? Of course you do. Well, kinda hoping this one's already been found and ripped from the website or whatever. Working link, download, whatever works, I will love you immensely.I'm looking for an old Adventurers game. Johnny Thunder and such, y'know? 'Belive it was called Lost Treasure's of Ancient Greece or something along those lines. Just interested to know if any of you know of any ways I could access this old game. Or have already done so.
  23. Nope. Linked me to the old site. Is not gone.
  24. Member Name: Thunder on the MountainTheme: Character StoryWord Count: 597Story: BuriedJuly 23rdI’m on my own now.The others are leaving at dawn. They still just want to escape. They don’t quite have the determination to take down these animals that I do. Maybe it’s just that they didn’t quite love Ashleigh the way I did. Maybe it’s because they don’t have ‘you can have my girl, but don’t touch my hat’ stuck in my head, which I can guarantee you has only made the situation much, much worse.I’m writing this to give to them before they leave. It’s the final entry, obviously. Once I finish with this, I’m setting off with my rifle to try and hunt down the killers that took Ashleigh away from us. All I have is enough ration to last me a few days, some ammunition, the gun, the clothes on my back, and my Stetson. Really, that’s enough to do what I want to.I’ve spent my entire life studying these things. It’s ridiculous to start doing heartfelt reflections at a time like this but I don’t really care. There are only a few things running through my head at the moment. First, the cruel irony of how I always yearned to understand these things better, and now my only real goal is to kill one. At least one.Second, never before have I missed the big Alaskan husky that’s (somewhat unsatisfactorily) tattooed on my bicep this much. King would have loved doing hunts like this. Considering all the deer he’d helped me bag, and all the bones he’d sniffed around with me, a combination like this could have been the time of his life, had it not been cut short.Third and finally, I can’t get the image of Ashleigh being pounced on by a Tyrannosaurus out of my mind.I’m thirty seven. She was twenty-nine. She was divorced, I never married. I spend my life digging in the dirt, looking for bones, she spent hers recording and filming wildlife. She was one of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen, and I’ve held a resentment of everything and everyone since King died.It was just infatuation really. I mean, I’d known her for a week, I wasn’t exactly planning how to drop to a knee. It doesn’t matter though. Watching her get torn to pieces by a creature I’ve admired and studied my entire life could have been enough to turn this gun on myself. Eventually, I got a better idea......turn my gun on the monster. It started in my childhood, and I never really let it go. Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were my life. I didn’t really need anything else. Bones in the ground...and my dog. I never cared much about my family, and even in my last few hours I don’t really regret that. I never had a woman, or much in the way of friends. That I do regret, in hindsight. With a single person to care, I might not have come. I might have stayed in the real world, with a new family to care for.But there’s no changing the truth now. I had no one to hold me back, King was dead via truck, and when they told me of my chance to see a live ******* dinosaur, I pounced on that chance without a second thought. So here I am, writing in the darkness, waiting for my chance to kill the second most fascinating thing I’ve seen in my life. Second of course, only to Ashleigh.“You can have my girl...don’t touch my hat.”*The journals of Doctor Dawson L. Barson, Paleontologist.
  25. Name: Thunder on the MountainTheme: LegacyWord Count: 565Story: Prelude to Society“We’re all going to die Ackar.”“...point?”“You and I have been around longer than any Agori or warrior in this desert. We’ll be the first to die. Then Tarix, and Vastus, and Malum. We think not of them as old, but they will age as we will, and soon after us they too will be dead, decaying in the ground.”“I hear you, friend. But I still don’t see your point.”“Is this all we leave to them? This, of all things?”“Them?”“The Agori, the future warriors, and all else who will live on after us. Is this truly all we can leave behind for them? A set of moons, a million casualties, and a barren wasteland to live on in?”“We were followers, Certavus. We followed the lords of fire, sand, and ice, and we did only as we were told?”“Where are they now, Ackar? Where are the great leaders, to carry us on through such perilous times and lead us to glory? Where are they now? It is in our hands now, Ackar, to bring our people to safety. I ask you again, is this all we leave to them?”“If I could, I would lay down my life to reform the lands. But I cannot. You cannot. None of us can. We live now on Bara Magna, not Spherus Magna. There is no return from here.”“But we can do our best, Ackar, to give the Agori a life worth having in this waste. The warriors too.”“We will guard them, Certavus. We will reform as one people, and we will fight back the desert.”“No, Ackar. Mere survival is not good enough. What we need is civilization.”“Certavus, the sandy ground moves beneath our feet. We no longer have allies in the Tribe of the Sand, and none of the rest of us know how to survive out here, save as a battalion. You would have us build a city?”“No, Ackar. I would have us build four villages. Fire, Water, Ice and Air.”“Divide ourselves? Where lies the sense in that? All we have is our comrades, Ackar. The only way to survive is to roam these lands like we did in the war. To remain ever-moving, and to defend ourselves from the Vorox and the Skrall.”“I would not have us living like a herd of beasts. Think Ackar! Would you become known as he who postponed his people’s inevitable demise? Or would you prefer he who helped set in stone the civilization that would survive him for eternity? Who would lead his people to great prosper then they had been even before the war?”“I seek not glory for myself Certavus. I mean only to help my people survive.”“Then make that your legacy, Ackar. Die well knowing that it was you and I who claimed that survival, and ensured that the survivors of the Core War would forever endure the Bara Magna sands. Because of you.”“I will not see my people die out like this bonfire does before us.”“Then come with me, my friend. See the unity that can be found in dividing once again.”“...very well, Certavus, speak what comes to your mind. I will listen, and upon this dying bonfire, we will forge these raw survivors into a people, fit to persevere this wretched world for a million years to come.”
