  1. You're profile picture is a Rhydon. You're the coolest person ever.

  2. I purchased 5 games from 2011 this year; Portal 2, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, and Skyrim. Now I'm a major fan of the franchise, but I'd immediately disqualify Uncharted 3 because of the fact that it didn't raise the bar from Uncharted 2 (my 2009 GOTY) at all. The game proved itself a worthy successor by the end, with several epic moments and excellent character development, however the experience was less polished and less fresh then it was in the last entry in the series. I never touched the multiplayer or co-op, but in my mind the singleplayer didn't quite expand on the second game like I would hope. Battlefield 3 is a fantastic multiplayer experience, a cheerfully fun distraction to enjoy with friends. From a crashing a jet, to defending a bomb site in a tank, to balls out rushing with a tricked out shotgun, BF3 never lets down on entertaining moments. What I've played of the singleplayer was decent, but it does little to distinguish itself from its completion; it borrows heavily from the Cod4 mission structure and the Blops story and handles neither aspect quite as well. As a result the campaign rarely rose above a strictly forgettable time sink, although it is never miserable. For the week or so that I played it, Skyrim was the most amazing thing ever. It is such an amazing culmination of (almost) everything I want in a Role Playing Game, I simply became overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things to do and wound up quitting. However, glitches and stiff character animations come far from belittling this amazing experience. However, Portal 2 is such a triumph of game design and writing that I feel obligated to give it my personal Game of The Year. Here is a game that we can hold to be a new standard standard of amazing writing and storytelling, with amazing levels and mechanics. Round it off with spectular voice acting, quirky humor only Valve could deliver, and unforgettable moments, and you have a fantastic game. oh, and I also played a fair amount of multiplayer on my friend's PS3. While undoubtedly a massive blockbuster, it falls flat on innovation and... well, being fun. Seriously, Cod has been a major disappointment since the release of MW2, and this title is no different. This game belongs nowhere in a discussion of GOTY.

Quite simply speaking, I do not have the time to partake in such a RPG anymore.
  4. ICs shall commence when I feel like it Player Name: LeadaCharacter Name: Venetia Lo'DarAppearance: As a vampire tasked with the role of blending in with human society, Venetia's outright appearance is as inconspicuous as possible. As a result, her red eyes have been replaced a calm, satisfying blue contact lense, whilst her mouth no longer possesses the trademark fangs, instead boasting a beautiful, clean, white (however artificial) smile. Her complexion is easily the most telltale aspect of her true nature, as it an almost sickly pale hue. Despite this, she is far from unattractive, her height tall, her body nimble and flawless, her skin soft and pristine. The features of her face yet defined, with flowing crimson red hair that reaches shoulder length. As for attire, Venetia can typically been seen wearing both the dresses and corsets of the era, as well as leather armor and a shadowy cloak, depending on the scenario at which you find her. Age: 354Gender: FemaleWeapons: Venetia carries one hidden blade; a spring fired mechanism that causes a blade to protrude from its hidden position amongst a gauntlet. This is used primarily for stealth kills, but also can be used in combat (although it usefulness in such a scenario is limited) She also utilizes a set of six poisoned throwing knifes, and a dagger with a six inch blade, enchanted to put its a victims in a frenzy for the purpose of making a rather unclean clean getaway. Finally, Ventia possess three smoke bombs and an enchanted cloak designed to blend into the shadows of the night. Abilities/Powers/Specializations: Extremely agile, surprisingly (although not overwhelming) strong yet fast and nimble and skilled in the arts of stealth.Biography: Like the majority of the vampire race, Venetia grew up as a member of the lower class in the city of Vael. An only child, her parents were never able to make ends meet, and as such, Venetia never had any concrete formal education and was always hungry and bloodthirsty. However, the girl was far from unintelligent. Even at a young age, Venetia had a complex understanding of how people worked, and the best way to manipulate them. This fostered into a young woman who radiated sophistication, despite the fact that her adept comprehension of psychology and social dynamics had been shaped from experience. Seizing advantage of these skills, Venetia abandoned her old indenity and persona, moved to Sanctum and adopted the life of a noblewoman. For nearly half a century she played guise almost perfectly, working the black market and the stocks to her advantage, creating algorithms to pull as much money from the broken economic system as possible. However a business deal went wrong, creating a rivalry between Venetia and a powerful group of individuals. She was exposed to be a commoner and a thief, and she was left to rot in prison for the next century or so, until she was given a deal by a secretive government organization known as The Spectral. For all intents and purposes, The Spectral was completely removed from the public's eyes, and tasked with matters relating to espionage, reconnaissance, and assassination. They gave Venetia a choice; life in prison or life in service. So she took the obvious route and was thus trained in the art of being an assassin, her ability to adopt the life of a noblewoman proving her to be the perfect candiate such a task. Recently she was given her first real mission; find any information avaliable on the Alvastar Empire's war effort and assassinate the High General.
  5. The most recent movie I have seen was Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. I found the film rather enjoyable, although I find Downey's phony British accent interpretation of Holmes more like a quirky James Bond than anything else, it at least outsteps its predecessor in that it didn't feel remarkably similar to Scooby Doo and the plot was actually somewhat comprehensible. The movie featured a memorable and intriguing villain, the usual wit and charm that one would come to expect from Downey and Law, as well as spectacular cinematography, adequate writing and dialogue, and a fantastic sense of style that leads to some jaw dropping scenes. They also managed to expand on my favorite scene from the first movie (Holmes planning out his fights) in some clever ways so that's a plus. Despite which, it feels like some plot points just don't add up and some characters that don't get enough closure. One aspect of the ending in particular was nonsensical and somewhat disappointing. I wish the series felt more like Sherlock Holmes in someways, but I adore the stylish acting, writing and film making these two movies have established. a fun, humorous action film, I'd say roughly an 8/10.
  6. an internet trend that I just don't quite understand... and a Mass Effect link. I approve of this Mass Effect link. And I can tolerate the ponies...
  7. BZP wise I simply want to try and find the time to write one good IC every couple days for Spink's forthcoming fantasy RPG after I finish my homework and before I descend into Skyrim and sleep (which is more activity then I've had on this site in months).Much more importantly, real life wise I want to start doing my homework during the allotted 8-10 study hall instead of starting at 11, staying up until 2 when my AP English and doing the rest at 6 am and during my lunch and free blocks. Also I need to participate more in my Spanish 3 class and I would like to maintain a B+ average in both Spanish 3 and Algebra 2. Finally I want to master the art of ice climbing, get into more advanced rock climbing (roughly around 510b and higher,) prepare for the SAT and college applications, and get my driver's license.
  8. that movie ended after the part with the drill sergeant, right?then yes, best war movie ever.
  9. Signature Guildelines! Sig+ Av= 100 KB Somebody has been a bad, bad, boy. >:l
  10. A classy looking brony playing violin set against a backdrop of purple shenanigans.
  11. Kaen did not fail because Exo left. He left around page 20, the RPG lasted to be around 60 pages long because Spink and GG took the position of staff. People lost interest, simple as that.and another Kaen-like RPG would indeed be awesome
  12. If anybody out there is good at Blops Zombies on the PS3, let me know. I have all other the other trophies needed for the plat except the ones involving the upgraded crossbow and ballistic knife. I'm not getting mw3 so don't ask... <<kthxbai
  13. ahem. There is only room for one Leader around here.

Exactly. Which is why I shall maintain my rightful position as sole leader.

  14. aye, you wouldn't happen to have a strategy for leveling up faster? me and friend only seem to average 1500 points per Rush game because our primary objective is having fun. However, he really wants his mortars and I really want my proper dosage of shotgun surprise.
  15. I've been playing Battlefield 3 in my friend's dorm on his xbox and I gotta say I love this game. Rushing with the shotgun is great fun, although it sometimes fails me in close range situations. We are still eight levels away from the M1014 and we rank up slowly but its an amazingly good time and the way we play the game always creates a lot of laughs, no matter our score. I am currently enjoying it more than MW3, and this is coming from a long time Cod fan.
  16. The fact that I do not own this game yet is absolutely unacceptable.
  17. a friend of mine enjoys this show. she showed me an episode a few months ago, but I wasn't particularly inclined towards it, although I saw its potential. then again I feel that way about anime in general.
  18. I'm going to pick up this game soon, but with Portal 2 and Uncharted 3 on my shelf sitting next to my intellectual AP English books with no PS3 or monitor to play them on until the 19th I might not be able to contain myself...
  19. Personally I love the Nerd RPG idea, but just because you're jealous of my bow tie collection doesn't mean you can associate nerds with bow ties. ;P I also like the idea of the Fallout RPG and the High Fantasy RPG Wrack suggested.
  20. ... Why are people electing games that aren't even out yet? x_x I, myself, have not played any games that have come out this year, so I can't draw my own opinion. However, my GOTY of 2010 would be Mass Effect 2.
  21. Human Revolution has perhaps greatest trailer for a video game ever, so that's something I suppose. I however, after watching xcalizorz's Let's Play of it, I have yet to see the appeal of this game. I know that it is cool that you can pick your own path throughout the world, but that doesn't mean much if all the paths are mediocre. The game rewards a stealthy, pacifist style the most, and seems to discourage doing anything fun. Compared to a game like Mass Effect, the voice acting, animations, story, and dialogue are all sup par and involving. Not to be hating or anything, I just want to know why people like this game so much and if I should reconsider picking it up.
  22. You changed your avatar. Do not approve.

    1. Wyrd Bid Ful Araed

      Wyrd Bid Ful Araed

its more that avatar and P-pic have become one. I might revert back to the old Bohrok logo sooner or later, but I like the current one right now. goes with the name

  23. Really? This generation alone they have given 10s to Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Uncharted 2 and God Of War 3. But yeah, that ten definitely did increase my interest in the game.
  24. I intend on picking up Batman: Arkham Asylum first as it is $30 is cheaper on the wallet then $60. The question is should I buy it before I get ACB, Fallout 3, or Demon's Souls. However Arkham City looks really cool, even though I'm not that big into comics. I will probably pick it up someday when it reaches the $20-$40 price range.
