  1. Well, you are going to call me everything you find on your vocabulary, but I have to say that, after seeing the new BIONICLE, I am not convinced. I don't like the feelings it gives me. It reminds me too much of those lego toylines that last two years, and never really have a decent story. Such as that line which I don't even remember the name which consisted of people in submarines battling crabs and squids. I have the feeling it is not going to be more complex than 'good guys fight bad guys to find (insert object/location here)'. Also, I don't like the sets. Apart from finding them rather ugly (Onua....), they don't remind me at all to the sets they are supposed to be based off. Then come the masks. Four of them are acceptable, but the Kaukau and Miru still pursue me in my nightmares. I even preferred the Kaukau nuva! (now you all are thinking: this guy is crazy...). Then comes the overall idea of the sets. They are too similar to HF. And I never liked HF. All those armor plates get me nervous. I like the good old days when a limb was a single piece, or two articulated pieces, with one of them covered by another which hid the other completely. And the story... Well, we don't know much yet, but I feel this is not going to get to the complexity of even 2001. Not even unity, duty destiny; not even a decent map, etc. Also, I haven't heard (or read) the names Mata nui, Matoran, Turaga, etc. Without all this, It has absolutely nothing to do with the old BIONICLE, just the names of the protagonists. And now comes the maximum argument: When I read on the frontpage that the bionicle webpagewas up, I quickly opened it to see what was new. And I was VERY underwhelmed. Basically my smile turned slowly into a 'I hope they know what they are doing'. I expected something like Toa tahu staring at me from the screen along with takanuva, and facing an army of Zyglak. All I got was a toyline that does not remind me of bionicle. I hoped for a reboot in a parallel, yet similar universe; or a continuation from the very spot, or from some years later. Or even a parallel history during the years prior to the GC. Not... some sort of parallel universe which has absolutely nothing to do with the original. What do you think? Please don't shout too much at me, but I had to say it. onua...
  2. The original Toa Mata had 6 toa fairly similar to each other. The Toa Nuva were more similar to one another. The Vahki were the last clone sets(sets less than $10). Greg and fans looked back to the vahki with distaste. They were the same set over and over again. Then flash-forward to 2008. The Phantoka was composed of 3 makuta and 3 toa. The Mistika was also composed of 3 makuta and 3 toa. On paper, releasing villains and heroes was a good idea. However, 2008 sold poorly. This was for a number of reasons. One primary problem was that the toa team didn't look like a team. Even in the same wave, Lewa, Pohatu, and Kopaka didn't even look like a team. Lewa was propelled by jetpacks, Pohatu flies with propellers. Kopaka had huge wings. The early 2008 Makuta, on the other hand, had a different problem. They were too similar. Despite coloration and size differences, the leech seeds made them seem unnecessarily similar. The new toa have this problem. With titans and canister-sized heroes mixed together, they look like a very unbalanced team. I see they tried to unite the toa with the breastplate, but it ends up looking oversized on the smaller toa. The size difference is a real killer. Trying to pose a fight between large and small constractions in general is hard. Could you guys discuss the merits and problems of differently sized toa.
  3. So do you guys think that the Toa Kaita will make a return? Will you MOC them if they don't? And has anyone made a decent MOC of Akamai or Wairuha from the 08 Toa Nuva?
  4. http://imgur.com/HIT6HT6 http://imgur.com/dgYEOVP http://imgur.com/iK8rJE2 http://imgur.com/achcrbU These are the character posters for a series in development on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChfpsYvEPBITB6d8pTcuasQ Hope you enjoy them. Also if you liked them, like my Facebook page because I intend on getting the 2015 figures and making retro 2001 style posters with the updated toa https://www.facebook.com/MetruNuiLegacy
  5. What is the worst thing you think lego could do with bionicle 2015, whether it be in terms of marketing set design characterization(etc etc)then please list them here.
  6. I hope it's in some postmodern metatextual sense, in which the Toa discover that there are an infinite number of universes, with their own Toa on their own adventures. I'd rather the universes NOT influence each other even if there is a tenuous connection, but if they ever do Lego might as well go full Neil Gaiman with it.
  7. Source: Excited for the return of gear functions?
  8. Alright, since a lot of folks have shown interest, I took some quick pictures of the figure I built at the Lego Store building event at Comic Con. Once I get home I can get better pictures, including pictures of his individual parts, but for now what I have is going to have to do. Front Back Close-up on the gearbox (for those who were interested) Any questions? I have a long train trip ahead of me this afternoon so I'll be all ears!
  9. Art depicting leaked content removed. -B6 It seems I was gone for quite a while. But just like the legends return, so do I and I bring along new art. I hope this bridges the waiting time a bit until we get actual reveals at NYCC.
  10. Artakha was more of a Mask maker than a Great Being, but he was useful. He sculpted the masks for the Great Beings, The Kanohi Masks of Legend. The masks were named by Artakha's hand, so were the names given to describe the masks. No matter the cost, Artakha WAS useful and a great friend to the Great Beings. Artakha strided two steps toward his blacksmith forge, where an object was waiting for him. He was standing in his personal house on the isle of Okoto, the island which Artakha named after his own name, Artakha. Shelves and a small desk cluttered the small interior. Artakha picked up a small hammer and a chisel from a workbench just toward his left. He started chisling the design into the object in his forge, which then took the shape of a mask with a crown. He grabbed a bar of blue magic and protodermis. Artakha infused the mask with the blue magic first, which was a tad tricky, then reached for the bar of protodermis, almost knocking it off the shelf. He used a small, extremely sharp carving knife to carve the bar of energy into a small circle. Then used the shavings to sprinkle onto the mask. Artakha fisted the circle of protodermis into a small circle on the mask. The forge then lit in fluorescent blue light. It died down then after, and the golden, blue powered mask hovered out of the forge, upright. Artakha looked at it and said, "This artifact will soon please my masters the Great Beings, This is the Mask of Creation!" He then tucked the mask into a small bag and dematerialized out of the house. The Mask maker then would have delivered the mask to the Temple of Creation. If it wasn't for the Lord of Skull spiders. Artakha had returned to Okoto, only to find it in ruin. skull Spiders ran rampant everywhere. all of a sudden, as if on cue, six colored beings jumped out of a portal, and started fighting skull spiders which had leapt at then. They disposed of them immediately. Artakha then vanished into a portal to tell the Great Beings about what he saw. When he talked to them, they told him they had made the Six Toa into masters of their elements. To fight the rising Lord of skull Spiders. And restore balance to Okoto.
  11. Yes we all know Bionicle is returning in 2015. But how should Lego lead up to the new sets. Examples: A wickedly awesome commercial, A foreboding teaser poster like what they did with the Rakshi or my personal favorite, Re-releasing all Bionicle sets with each year having all sets on stock for one or two weeks.
  12. (I put this here, since I don't see much more of a place that I can put it. Staff, if you see fit to move it, please do so. An impromptu prototype set release isn't something we exactly... have a section for.) In addition to being god of the known universe (just kidding), I have actually been a intern for The LEGO Group for quite some time, working as a general researcher for statistics pertaining to the sales of sets, as well as consumer-prompted products (such as Ideas). LEGO had, obviously, seen the call for the return of BIONICLE, and actually began planning its return about a year after its end. Being in my position in the company (not to mention my interest in BIONICLE as a whole), they provided me with some prototype sets, which I could give them feedback on. (Bear in mind, from this point on, this is a prototype set, not the final design. Much, or all, could have changed.) It has now been about a week and a half since LEGO officially announced the return of BIONICLE, and they contacted me the other day, saying that I could release pictures and information about the prototype set that they gave me. So, with great excitement, I bring to you the "LEGO BIONICLE Small Set Size" prototype (boring name, I know, but I'm not allowed to actually tell you the character's name). View the whole gallery here once it's visible, or click on each photo below to see the full-size image. (Sorry, I don't know how to rotate the photos in Brickshelf, or if you even can.) || || || || || || || In the first two photos, I'm just showing the all-around design. In an attempt to give some of the "old feel" of Bionicle back (stylized as BIONICLE, but I'm just going to write it as Bionicle from here out; I like the look better, and being an intern gives me some flexibility with some things). In the third and fourth photos, I'm showing one of LEGO's new innovations with the joint pieces. Technically, they're called "stress relieving fractures", but basically what they are is just small breaks in the joint that cause them, basically, to not break further. Personally, I found those nice. Not having to worry about the eventual snap of the joint that slackens the entire appendage. The fifth photo is just showing the pieces. I think all of you should recognize at least most of them. You'll notice that the weapon-like thing (technically, it is a "defense tool") is kept intact; this is another new concept that LEGO is introducing with the advent of the "new" Bionicle. Some of the more complex sections of the sets actually come pre-assembled. Obviously, they can be taken apart, but they come pre-built to not confuse younger fans. The sixth and seventh photos show the general building process - just building the body, then attaching "tools" and such. The eighth, obviously, is the necessary FACE OFF against a Bohrok*. Anyway, that's about it! I hope you all enjoyed this special preview into the possibilities of 2015 LEGO BIONICLE sets! *(This Bohrok is actually a semi-MOC that I've had for... over three years?! Wow. Anyway, you can see it here.) Whoops, forgot to link the photos. Fixed, now! yes yes yes this is all a prank i admit it
  13. I made the following analogy in a BIONICLE-related Facebook group I'm in, and my twin brother Lyichir says I should post it here as well, so here goes.
  14. So how will bio 2015 be revealed, a simple twitter post, a big livestream event, a simple press release, or maybe something else entirely, what do you think?
  15. Not sure if anyone would care, but I made a Wikia wiki just for the new BIONICLE. The URL is And, if anyone complains about "reboot" being in the URL... I wanted to keep it short, and "2015" isn't allowed in addresses. I know this won't replace BS01 or the OTHER BIONICLE Wiki on Wikia (which isn't very good). But it's specifically for the new stuff, which should help with researching information specifically. There, we are only referring to the old 2001-2010 stuff if and when needed. We even have a page on BZPower. Carry on if you want, but check it out and help contribute if you are interested! WARNING: We have images of all of the "leaks" uploaded. Enter at your own risk.
  16. The following is a work of fiction. With the exception of the Lego CEO, all People and events are inventions of my imagination, and any semblance to reality is purely coincidental. The room goes dark. For a moment, no one can see. Then the projector lights up, showing a fuzzy image that slowly comes into focus. It shows an E-Mail. From: Jørgen Vig Knudstorp To: Lego Board of directors Subject: Bringing back Bionicle. "All right, listen up, people. I know you all tossed around some good ideas for bringing back Bionicle. That said, after much consideration and discussion with the board, I've decided not to bring Bionicle back for 2015. Bionicle had a good run for 10 years, longer than most themes, and I think that it's best..." At the bottom, it was signed: Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, CEO of The LEGO Company No one in the room reads farther than this before there are loud groans. Someone -- it is hard to tell whom in the dark room -- asks, "How did you find this E-Mail? And what's so important about this that you had to call an emergency meeting?" The lights come back on, and everyone shields their eyes. They are all sitting at a table in a room that features nothing but a table and chairs, a projector, a bench, and several Lego pieces scattered around. Briefly, I wonder why this place hasn't been cleaned up, and I try to remember who was on cleaning duty this week. "I didn't find this E-Mail," I explain. "This is the work of a close friend of mine, who wishes to remain anonymous. And, as you can see, there actually was consideration for a Bionicle return in 2015, but... I don't even know how to pronounce that name... let's call him Vig... vetoed the whole idea." "I'm not sure if that's good news or not," a kid at the back of the room says. "At least we know they considered it. It was an idea tossed around." "It was more than that," I say. "They had the whole thing planned out. The decision to cancel was a last-minute change. They were going to bring back Bionicle, but Vig said no." "So what do we do about it?" one girl asks. "Send an angry E-Mail to Jørgen?" Briefly, I wonder if she knows how his name is pronounced, or if she's just guessing. "We can do more than that," I say. I take a deep breath, preparing myself for the reaction I know my next statement will receive. "Remember the top-secret project I told you all about back in 2008?" A strong, muscular guy stands up, putting both hands down on the table hard. "You aren't suggesting that, are you?" "I knew you'd say it was crazy, but let me explain. First of all, I know exactly how we can pull this off. Secondly, my boss uses the tech all the time. I found out, and I promised not to expose him in return for being allowed to use the thing myself. I've never had a good reason until now. I have a key card and everything, and I had a friend check and make sure it works." There is a long, uncomfortable pause, and the muscular guy who reacted sits back down. Finally, the kid at the back says, "What would we do?" "Are you crazy?" says the person opposite the muscular guy. "This could cause a disaster!" "This thing hasn't caused a disaster yet," I say. "That you know of," says another girl, sitting next to the kid who'd just questioned my craziness. "Wouldn't they keep something like that a secret? Besides, how would we know about it?" "I would know about it," I remind everyone. "We only have 42 hours to do this. That's hardly long enough to start World War III. It will be quick, and it will be precise. I don't think I need remind you the dangers of this." "If we get caught, we will be in HUGE trouble," says a tall skinny kid. Suddenly, I remember he's supposed to be in charge of clean up. "I've thought of that," I say. "For this, it kinda makes sense to use masks. My brother can make us look unrecognizable, yet still human. For communications, we'll use codenames. Something Bionicle-like. Dibs on Ian." The muscular guy speaks up. "I have to be Onua." "Too recognizable," I say. "What about... Tai? For Taipu?" "Sounds good," he says. "I still say this is crazy, though." "I'm Leena," says the girl next to him. "Rats, I wanted Lewa's name," say the tall skinny kid. "Trixie," says the girl who pronounced Vig's first name. "I'll be Matt Orkan," says the kid at the back. "I'm going with Shasa," the last girl says. "I doubt anyone will recognize it, and it’s close enough to a real name anyway." "Care to trade?" the tall kid asks Leena. "I could use Lee." "Nope," she says. "Fine," he says. "I'm out of ideas." "Kodak," I say. "From Kopaka." "Hey, what about Cody?" he asks. I turn it over in my head. "Fine, you're Cody," I relent. "Now what?" Cody asks. "In this box beside me are various jackets," I say, pointing at the box I brought here. "Inside are various jackets with different colored stripes down the arm of each jacket. Each jacket... I mean, we'll each have a jacket corresponding to the name of the Bionicle character our name is from. Matt Orkan, you'll have dark green, and Leena, you get light green. Trixie, you'll take dark blue, and T--I mean Shasa, you'll take light blue." I silently chide myself for almost not using her code name. "Tai, Cody, you should know. I'm yellow. Everyone, come get a jacket." "So when do we go to A-5?" Tai asks. I glance at my watch. It's 9:43 P.M. "Unless anyone has any further duties, right now." You aren't supposed to know this, but the government has way more technology in experimentation than the general public knows about. Invisibility cloaks, limited teleportation, even a work-in-progress machine to turn Iron into gold. That's where I come in. I got a job working at a government facility. Initially, I was just a secretary. Then, late one night, I entered what I thought was the bosses office. Instead, I caught the government in the process of teleporting a milk carton to the other side of the room. They hired me on the spot and made swear to secrecy. Sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, doesn't it? If you don't believe me, well, neither did my friends until I showed them an invisibility cloak. Normally, I would never tell anyone about A-5 and what goes on there, but my friends and I are all members of this top-secret club known as the Mata Nui club. There are no secrets in that boring meeting room, and they never leave that room, either. Right now, the technology I'm concerned with is limited time travel. Not even I am supposed to know about this one -- it is top-top-secret. Only a handful of people know about all of it. I know enough to know that what I don't know, I really don't need to know. There are rumors of mind-reading in the works, and I now know better than to dismiss rumors. A-5 is the nickname for a building out in the middle of nowhere. You need a key card, a fingerprint check, and a retina scan just to get in the fence. That is, unless you happen to be friends with the night guard. He lets me in all the time. I'm always forgetting things like my phone and leaving them "on-base". For security reasons, nobody knows his real name, not even me. I just know his face. Even the guard doesn't allow me to bring anyone on-base. However, I knew how to get around that. There is an energy field around the facility that prevents anything from teleporting into it, but I know a machine that overrides it for about 6.2 second -- just long enough for me to set a back-and-forth teleport. The device sends me just outside the fence, where I grab my friends, and then it pulls me back in. "I feel dizzy," Tai says. "Everyone feels that way after teleporting the first time," I say. I've teleported myself many times, and even my brother a few times. "Does anyone feel like they want to throw up? No? Good, no one is allergic to teleportation." "Allergic?" Shasa asks. "For lack of a better term," I explain. "If you're allergic to teleportation, you're allergic to time-shifting, because they operate on the same principle." "Remind me how you talked us into this," Shasa says. "Relax," I say. "None of you should be allergic -- none of you are blood type O, which are usually the type of people to be allergic. Besides, no one has ever actually thrown up after teleporting. Time travelling, yes, but not teleporting." "Time travel could make us throw up?" Leena says. "Only if you're allergic," I say. "I now know none of us are. If you don't feel sick after teleporting, you won't feel sick after time-shifting." "What are we doing again?" Matt Orkan asks. "Vig is best friends with a Lego employee named Jason Schulz," I say. Trixie told me how to pronounce Jørgen's name, but I'm calling him Vig for security. "He was a big fan of Bionicle, and he helped keep Bionicle running for so long. The thing is, he was out-of-touch with Vig at the time of his decision to not bring back Bionicle." "How do you know this again?" Leena asks. "Because Jason posted about it on BZP," I said. "Not many people know that Jason is a member of BZP, or what his username is." I decide not to tell them how I know Jason's username. It's a long story, and we now only have 39 hours. "So what do we do?" Matt asks. "We time-shift to August 2014 New York and meet Jason," I say. "We have to make sure he's in contact with Vig." "How do we get back?" Trixie asks. "I thought time-travel was one-way, past only." "It is," I say. "The future hasn't happened yet. We'll bring a teleporter. When activated, it will teleport us back to here." "Then what do we do?" Tai says. "We hide at Tai's aunt's place until today," I say. Then, our 'then selves' will disappear, and our 'now selves' can take their place, and normal life resumes." "What happens when our old selves disappear?" Matt asks. "They just disappear," I say. "However, no one will see it, because I've arranged for us all to be in a meeting right now in the altered timeline." "I still say this is too risky," Tai says. "I agree," Matt says. "Can't we just go home and build Bionicle MOCs?" "What's your mom's shirt say?" Leena says to Matt. "Uh, get fit?" Matt says. "No, not that one," Leena says. "'Never give up.' We can't give up just because it's hard. We'll never achieve anything. Would Matau give up on this?" "Thank you," I say. "C'mon, people, let's do this." I've never time-shifted before, so I did not know what to expect. I kinda figured it would be like teleportation, but it wasn't. It felt like I was moving super-fast. I guess we were moving fast than the speed of light, but I still didn't expect that. And then there's the sudden stop at the end. And when I say sudden, I mean 'going from 299,792,458 m/s to 0 m/s in a split second'. No wonder I've always seen people sitting whenever they sent a human back in time; we all arrived at our destination, and fell flat on our faces or backs. No one warned me time travel hurt! A little girl screamed and ran away. What was some little girl doing in this back alley? Ah well, at least no adult saw us. Or worse, government agents. "Aside from falling, everyone okay?" I ask. "Next time, we sit down, then we time-jump," Tai says. "I second that," I say. "C'mon, we have to get to the Belnord Hotel. That's where Jason stayed -- I mean will be staying." Once we left the alley, it was all formal. "I'm going to go make contact," I say. "You guys, spread out. If you see anyone who even looks official, buzz the others. Shasa, have you got the cash?" "Here you go," she says, handing me a pair of bills. "You owe me twenty bucks." "Better make it 30," I say, and she hands me two fives. I click on my earpiece. "This place is neat," I hear Leena say. "Act like you've been here before," I remind her. "Remember, if you see anyone you know, I don't care if they're a long-lost friend, you don't acknowledge them. We can call our friends later. Right now, we have a job to do." "Ooh, a donut place," Cody says, "Can I get a donut? I've heard this place has the best donuts." "Can you keep an eye out and eat a donut at the same time?" I ask. "Well... I guess not." "Then the answer's no," I say. "When we're done, I'll buy you a donut." Everyone goes quiet for a while (well, except Matt, who's humming, as usual). With the help of my map, I locate the Belnord hotel. I go in and wait inside the lobby. My timing is good; ten minutes later, Jason shows up. Now, for the hard part. Jason and I have never met face-to-face, so it's not like I can go up and start a conversation. Plus, I must make sure he doesn't call me by my real name. I wait 'til he buys a room and starts going to his room. I follow him, until there's no one around. Then, I flick my headpiece off and say, with genuine excitement, "Jason!" He turns around. "It's me, Ian," I say. As I say that, I open my jacket, just enough so he can see what I've written on the inside: 'don't call me Willess12'. Not only does it tell him who I am, it tells him not to call me that and has an inside joke so he knows it's really me. He hesitates for a moment, then seems to decide to roll with it. "Ian! How are you?" "Good," I say, giving him a hand-shake. As I do so, I give him a piece of paper. "How's your wife and kids?" "Great," he says. "Jason Jr. misses you." By this time, he's surreptitiously glance at my message: 'not supposed to be here, but I and co. need talk to you.' "Listen, is Steve around?" he asks. "He's in town," I say. "Great," he says. "He hands me a piece of paper with an address. "Why don't you and her meet me in about a half hour? That should be long enough for me to get settled in." Why did he say Steve, and then say her? Never mind, I'll ask him later. "Great, I'll be there." I leave. As I do so, I flick my communicator back on. "Be here," I say after giving them the address. Meanwhile, I am really glad that Jason and I are such good friends on BZP. "Hey, is anyone going to 88th street?" Shasa asks. "Yeah, why?" Cody says. "Don't!" Shasa says. "FBI!" Oh Karzahni. What's the FBI doing here? "Everyone, keep away from 88th street." I say. "Is this bad?" Matt says. "Are we in trouble?" Leena says. "The FBI can't be here after us," I say. "Besides, we just got here; when is government ever that quick? Just don't let them see you." "I'm trapped," Cody says. "FBI to the north and south." "Hide," I say. "Wait until they leave. We've got thirty minutes." We got lucky. The FBI disappeared (not literally). We all got to the meeting place, which turned out to be a house owned by a friend of Jason's. Jason was a little late, which he apologized for. He only saw me, Shasa, and Cody. Leena, Tai, Trixie, and Matt, he never saw. It's generally better that way. "Listen, we need you to do something," I say. "Lego's CEO is on the fence about deciding to bring back Bionicle. We fear that, without your input, he's going to decide not to go through with it." "So, what do you want?" Jason says. "Can't you just call him or something?" Shasa says. "I've given him input," he says. "He likes it, but he and the story team have a big problem. Besides, I lost my phone on the way here." "What's the problem?" I ask. "I can't say that," he says. "I'm not supposed to." "You know you can trust me," I said. "I've trusted these two with every secret I have. We're not going to spoil any story details; you have our words." Jason looked at each of us in turn. "I'm not allowed to..." "How about this," I say. "Forget that we know anything about Bionicle. We won't mention anything by name. We're just authors tossing ideas at each other. Why, Cody just finished book one of a story he's making that took inspiration from... uh, that Lego constraction theme." Jason explained the problem to us. Shasa was stumped, I was lost, and Cody was clueless. I contacted the others. None of them had any ideas, but then Leena said something that gave Cody The Idea. It was the one idea that saved Bionicle. But I'm afraid I can't tell you what it is. Sorry. "Great!" Jason says. "I hadn't thought of that. Now I just need to tell the CEO. That could be difficult." "Ian, ideas?" Shasa says. I think fast. None of us brought cell phones. Then suddenly, an idea occurs to me. "Tai, you're at football practice right now, right?" "Yeah, I think," he says. "Why?" "You're about to get in a bit of trouble," I say. "Luckily, you won't remember it." I turn back to Jason. "Can I borrow your computer?" All it takes is a quick E-Mail to the same guy who found the E-Mail from Jørgen. He also knows how to track cell phones. I dislike using the teleporter so much, but in a flash, Tai goes home, gets his phone, and comes back. Luckily, Tai never remembers to bring his phone to football practice. Meanwhile, Jason has forgotten Vig's phone number -- he has the CEO on his contacts list. Shasa plays a numbers game with him that she says can help anyone remember a phone number they knew once. I was only out of the room for five minutes, but when I came back, Jason has remembered the number. I have to get Shasa to show me what she did. Jason dials his boss, explains (rather sheepishly) what happened to his phone, and tells his boss what Cody told him. I make a mental note to tell Cody he's a genius later. We all say good-bye. We head back to the alley, and use the time-shifter to take us back to A-5. It's still August, so we now have almost two months to kill. Time for a party at Tai's aunt's! Life was back to normal. Okay, I was a little disappointed to miss how the rumors on BZP slowly got confirmed, but oh well. Then, disaster struck. Well, kinda. I was talking to Shasa when it happened. I received a call, number blocked. I know better than to ignore those. I answered it. "Hello, I'm Jim Vaisley, with the Black Belt Club--” That was Cody's voice, and he was using our code-words! "Not interested," I say. I press a series of buttons on my phone. Ten seconds later, a green light lights up. "Secure," I say. To anyone tapping this line, it would appear I just hung up on 'Jim Vaisley'. Cody cuts to the chase. "I'm an idiot. I think I lost a piece of paper in the past." I get up and run to my computer. "What did it say?" "Nothing," Cody says. "It just had a picture I drew on the computer and printed off for my story. I'm sending it to you now." A few moments later, the message comes up on my screen. It shows what looks like an ornate helmet, like what's in Cody's Knights and Vikings stories. I quickly run it through my image search program. "Oh, great," I say. "90% match." Then I see what it's matched to, and I burst out laughing. "What is it?" Cody asks. "You just provided Jason with inspiration for a Mask for Bionicle 2015." "No way. You're putting me on." "It's true," I say. "I'll send you the message. Meanwhile, get a job for Lego, why don't you? You're now officially an unofficial member of the Bionicle story team." Looking over my shoulder, Shasa says, "This is amazing." "I know," I say. "We not only saved Bionicle, we influenced it." All's well that ends well, I think.
  17. After Spherus Magna, Tahu and the rest of the Toa set off on a quest for a mask of great and legendary power, possibly even more powerful than the Mask of Life itself. Little was known about this mask, but during the battle on Spherus Magna, one of the Matoran reported to Tahu that he say a "golden comet" streaking across the sky at that time. An explosion was then reported by Pohatu on a training mission. Every hero from the previous world had settled into Spherus Magna, but no one was prepared for what was happening outside the settlement. Tahu walked fast as the others followed, Until he came to a mysterious entrance, that resembled the head of a Toa. The desert he was in was called Mistic Valley, which was known for making a deserted being go insane from hallucinations. " Mata Nui, what is this?" Tahu said. He walked into the entrance, and a light blinded him. When he opened his eyes again, he, and the other Toa, stood in front of a hallway lit by torches on the walls. Lewa and Kopaka were more curious of what had happened. Everyone stayed on the wits end until they came to a small light source of some kind, coming from the end of the hallway. "Have we been here before?" Onua said, puzzled. Everyone took the question into immediate thought. What they saw shook them. A pedestal oozing blue energized protodermis and an unkown, powerful looking mask floated above it. Around the room were different, pod-like, wall elements, colored blue, red, brown, black, green and white. Mysterious masks hung over the chambers, ones they have never seen before. What they did not know was that this was where the Great Beings had made a mask, The Mask of Creation. "Welcome, Toa." said a voice in the shadows behind the pedestal. A being walked out before the six heroes. Clad in a yellow and red cloak, the being removed his hood, revealing ancient features. "I am Antorkus, Adviser to the Great Beings" said the being. "The Great Beings have yet to meet you, step into the chambers, all of them want to meet you." Tahu walked up to Antorkus, and firmly said: "Why are we here?" "A great power only known as the Lord of Skull Spiders has taken over the island of Artahka. The Great Beings had to create something to deal with this threat, This whole place is in fact the Temple of the Great Beings." answered Antorkus. " He stole the real Mask of Creation from us, in an attack on the Temple. In case of thieves, I sculpted a replica, a powerless fake." " They want you to take their power and defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders and get back the Mask of Creation. enter the Chambers of the great beings, those things on the wall, and receive their power!" They did so, walking into their respected colored chamber. The masks above the chambers glowed the color of the chamber. The eyes turned blue. Antorkus shuffled to a lever on the wall. And pulled it down. A bright flash of white engulfed the room. Antorkus stood silent as the pods lifted into the air and disappeared. At first he waited, hoping for some sign of greatness to show up. Then he heard a sound- laughter- coming from the entrance. he soon realized he was hearing the laughter of Makuta Teridax, which always brought death and destruction. Antorkus pushed a small block in the wall inward, closing the entrance to the room, sealing him in. he could hear someone walking up to the wall. The being said: "Skull spiders are coming, the Lord will outnumber you, and my revenge will be complete!" Then he could hear footsteps turning and walking away from the wall, leaving. The Toa had opened their eyes to something mystical, they were inside a cloud, surrounded by their own memories. Flashes of light passed by them, indicating battles with foes. everyone now knew where they were; They were meeting the Great Beings themselves. A round, table-like rock formation floated down toward the six heroes. They all stood up, still bewildered after the recent events. Six beings walked out of the folds of the clouded "room". They all bore elemental colors, including blue, green, red, black, white, and brown. Indicating that these beings were the Great Beings in person. Everyone were all astonished by the sight of the Great Beings fortold in their own legends. The Toa started clapping a few seconds after. " Welcome, everyone. We have to meet you all. We have a legendary power to give you, let us show you." said one of the beings. All the Great Beings rose their hands, and touched the shoulder of each Toa. They knew what was happening: They were making them into Elemental Masters. Masters of all the elements; fire, ice, land, stone, water, plantlife-air, and ice. "Use these new forms to defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders, bring back the mask, The Mask of Creation!" "We believe in you all. We will take care of the other members of your settlement." "Long live Mata Nui!" And with that, they were transported to Artakha. They knew their mission. They knew what they had to do. They were Toa
  18. (This is my take on the events that happened before Bionicle 2015, assuming the mask is the Mask of Creation, which makes the most sense. Also the most I've written in quite a while.) Old Endings, New Beginnings “In the time before time, the Great Beings ruled this planet in peace and harmony, Then the selfish desires of the people split everything apart. A mission was begun to repair the damage, and a people were created. They needed a ruler, a creator, and so my brother and I fought over the right, Not a war of blades, but a war of minds. I emerged victorious and retrieved my right to be that ruler. My brother was always jealous, but he is gone now. Everything is gone. But I’m still sitting here!” The room shuddered as the massive green being pounded on his throne. His pedestal was the only lit thing in the room, though gleams of crystals and metal along the walls revealed it to be much larger. “These Toa believe they have the right to the glory! They believe they have the right to the people! Was it not I who created them? Was it not I who gave them the tools to save the Great Spirit?” The green being was standing now in an indignant fury, his throne and surroundings forgotten. He raised his hand as if expecting something to fall into it, then his mask glowed and stones from around the room fused into a rough puppet. The face had a round mouth edged by lines, and the eyes were narrow slits. Its only defense from the being’s fury was a pathetic-looking flaming sword. At the sight, the being threw the puppet across the room in disgust, and it shattered against a pillar. “They believe I will be safe here. As if there is any power that can defeat me!” His mask glowed again, and crystals in the shadows shuddered and slithered along the ground. “I am Artahka! The Great Creator, Wearer of the Legendary Mask of Creation! Nothing can…” All his anger ebbed away as he looked down to see a massive drill shoved through his heartlight. “No,” was all he could say. “There, there, Artahka. Let’s not get too excited. That’s right, just sit down.” The light that was blazing in Artahka’s eyes moments ago was fading as the titan weakened and collapsed back into the throne. “It’s…you, isn’t it? I remember you. You were the mad one who decided to watch.” “You think me mad? Could a mad Matoran bring down the Great Creator?” The little brown Matoran stepped into the light, a smug grin on his mask. His hunched, broken look gave him an extra feeling of malice. “You were never a Matoran. You’re much more than that.” “You’re right. I never was a Matoran. This body was though.” “Why are you doing this? You are destroying your very creations!” “Oh, Artahka. You’ve been watching just as I have. Haven’t you seen the petty disputes? The deactivations? These machines have gone too far.” Artahka could hardly sit up anymore. “They are more than just machines. You made sure of that.” The Matoran took a casual step away, turning his back on Artahka as if acknowledging he was no longer a threat. “That is true. But at journey’s end, they are still just cells. Little creatures going about their way, never realizing that they are living in and even serving a greater creature, far greater than they could even imagine! They are broken, confused, forced from the life they always knew.” “I have faith they will adapt.” “And if they don’t?” The Matoran turned around, his mask almost showing genuine concern. “Artahka, they need a leader.” Artahka could barely muster the words, but he spit them out anyways. “Not…one like you.” Suddenly, the Matoran jumped up onto the throne, showing agility no one would expect from his form. He forced Artahka’s head back, making the titan gasp in pain. “But I will be the only one left,” he whispered, mask to mask with his victim. The crazed grin on his face showed Artahka he was serious. And seriously insane. Artahka weakly raised a hand, his mask glowing almost imperceptibly. The crystals in the shadows shuddered again. “Oh, don’t try calling your ‘pets,’ Artahka. You are far too weak. You should have stopped me when you had the chance.” The Matoran hopped down, retrieved his drill, and began walking away. “Oh, wait, you never had a chance.” The last sound Artahka heard was the Great Being’s crazed laughter ringing down the halls. As the titan fell, the shadows were ready to greet him. The Legendary Mask of Creation, forgotten entirely by the little assassin, fell off and bounced into the waiting claws just out of the light. The creatures in the shadows pronounced their work good and scuttled off with the one of the most powerful masks in the universe.
  19. Hero Factory introduced really cool mini-fig sized (well, generally, they were a little taller, though appropriately so) heroes. LEGO has made these for Bionicle in the past, and I think we all know how those looked. But "Invasion From Below" shows that LEGO is still (at least partially) open to constraction sets in mini-fig scale. So since Bionicle is probably coming back in 2015, do you think LEGO would try making play sets for Bionicle on the mini-fig scale again? If so, do you think they would use system bricks and plates for them like they did before or try using technic like they did for "Invasion from Below" (I personally hope they would use technic, I don't know what it is but there's just something so wrong about seeing system and Bionicle together...). I don't think it's an outright bad idea, but it would largely depend on how they're made. A bad set is a bad set, whether or not the concept it good. So... yeah, what do you fellas think?
  20. Well in the story of Yesterday's Quest, taking place after reformation of Spherus Magna, we have Toa Chira, Toa Orde, and Toa Varia along with Glatorian Gelu of the Ice Tribe setting out on an quest to find the Great Beings. They eventually then arrive in newly jungle of what was once the moon of Bota Magna and they encounter tribe of Vorox. And one of them named Kabura knows how to turn off a Toa's power. This being said, Orde the Toa of Prionics had a vision of a Great Being having new plans for newly reformed Spherus Magna. And that being said they have to go out and stop the Great Being from achieving his goal. That being said I think we should have Bionicle starting off with Glatorian and Toa teaming up to stop the Great Being from doing so. Also to come to think of it, I remember that Sahmud had a vision of the future where he saw New Atero located in Bota Magna region of the newly formed Spherus Magna. He said that Kiina, Gali, Tahu, and Ackar among many Matoran, Toa and Agori will be living a new life there. With that said, I would also like this to also happen for the new Bionicle series if it does come back in 2015. Anyway, what do you guys think would this be better than having Bionicle rebooted? And do you think what else should happen as well, if so please say so. Thanks. I also forgot to mention that Velika the Great Being who is disguised as a Po-Matoran had murdered Tren Krom and Karzahni. Meaning that if Pohatu and Kopaka get back to Spherus Magna they will have to find Velika and stop him before he will kill someone else. I can even predict he might murder Toa Tuyet because she was exiled to the Pit while back for murdering three Matoran. That means she going to be targeted by Velika along with the rest of the surviving Dark Hunters.
  21. Okay, a while back in another crazy topic http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/12947-rumor-bionicles-return-in-2015/ we went a little overboard (and way off topic) and started discussing the amazing magical Hype Train! So, I thought I'd start an actual discussion topic for the Hype Train (note, discussion about Bionicle 2015 belongs on the aforementioned crazy topic, and not here). This here is an utterly pointless topic to discuss who is on board the Hype Train, marvel in the fact that it still has no brakes, and add whatever sort of upgrades we want to make it even more Hyped and Trained than ever! The Bionicle 2015 Hype Train: We have left the station... We have no brakes... We cannot be stopped... SO ALL ABOARD THE BIONICLE 2015 HYPE TRAIN!!!
  22. Here a have a small collection of items which I have no need for. I would be glad to trade (preferably trade) or sell them. Everything is in mint condition. I am looking something special in return for the pitch black Skrall shield as it's a pretty hard to find misprint/prototype. Thanks, Dan. I'm based in the UK. 23. Judging by recent events, I would like to discuss story line ideas for the return of Bionicle.
  24. Over the past few days, I've been actively following the ongoing cycle of topics being posted up and shut down regarding the rumours and leaks about Bionicle potentially returning next year. To be frank, I'm getting kind of frustrated by the whole thing. Like a lot of people here, I grew up with Bionicle, and as much as I want to jump aboard the hype train, I don't want to have my hopes crushed. If these leaked images really are from someone at Lego, then the company must know about it by now. If someone has a means of contacting Greg or someone else at the Lego Group, please try to get a definitive answer as to whether or not these images, and the leaked names on the Russian toy site, are legit. That way, we can put the whole debate to rest, one way or another. If this is not possible, is there a way for the community here on BZPower to start a petition of some kind, demanding Lego give us an answer? I would love for Bionicle to come back, but what I would love even more is for us all to stop arguing, and be able to agree on whether or not it actually will be returning. After all, the first of the Bionicle Virtues is Unity.
  25. So, in light of the news of a new constraction theme in 2015, and with the recent evidence pointing to a possible Bionicle reboot, we must now ask ourselves: What does all this mean for Hero Factory? Hero Factory sales have always been fairly average (sometimes even below average), and it has not been able to gain the huge fanbase that bionicle possessed. However, this years HF sales have done fairly well and proven that HF still has the potential to succeed. Personally, I think lego should keep HF, but also fully shift it over to a system theme (with the occasional constraction mech). This years HF minifigs were incredibly well designed, and were a major factor in this years sales boost for the theme. Lego ought to build on that success with HF system line-up. What do you guys think lego should do with Hero Factory?
