  1. "And believe me, I am still alive..." I adore the Portal games. I was very disappointed to see the Thinking With Portals CUUSOO project shot down at review stage, so, denied official Lego Portal sets, I made my own. The most difficult and rewarding part of this project was, of course, GLaDOS. I spent several hours over my Easter break trying to get the build right. I've seen a lot of GLaDOS MOCs, and they're all excellent, but they tend to take a certain amount of artistic license. I've tried to be as faithful as possible to her in-game appearance (her rebuilt appearance in Portal 2, that is). I've put a lot of time and effort into this MOC, and I hope it shows. Comments, questions and constructive criticism are all welcome! (See the Flickr descriptions for extra info and commentaries) GLaDOS: Main Front Right Front Left Back Right Back Left Top Bottom Frame Head Body Cables Minifigs: Chell (alternate) Wheatley Space Core Misc: "Oh. 2. "Very good! You are now in possession of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device." — GLaDOS from Portal. Hope you enjoy, any comments are welcome!
  3. This has been in my head for awhile. To all who have played Portal we all know the radio in the beginning with its great tune. And we know the iconic song Still alive. now the other day i was humming it to my self then it hit me. Having played still alive on my trumpet and humming the radio song i realized they are the same song. if you listen to the radio it does a sped up more upbeat funky tune of when GLaDoS sings Still alive. The beginning 2 parts can be compared if you sing one and speed up a hum of "this was a triumph" and so forth. Have a listen to 2 links I'll put here and tell me if i am right or im making bridges were none should be. Still alive Radio from beginning of game
  4. As requested by Ghabolous Ghoti, aka GG. * * * START You are Takua, born adventurer and investigator, previously mindwiped from bringing the Toa to this island. Of course, since you have been mindwiped, you know nothing about this. Seeing as 98% of all beings playing the game know nothing about this either, it’s a perfect match. You behold a beach with a giant, empty canister directly in front of you. To your left is a staircase going up to a staircase and a telescope. And, in front of you, near the canister, impossible to miss, is a Ga-Matoran waving frantically at you. Any other Matoran would have rushed immediately to the blue Matoran’s help. But you are Takua, and that telescope and energy pylons look immediately more fascinating. You stumble up the steps, and watch a confusing vision of giant rocks falling from the sky and smaller rocks emerging and reassembling around those rocks. It’s pretty obvious that the white rock represents some good guy who was struck down, and the black jagged rock is bad… * * * I would argue that this animation here represents the events of 2001-03, with the last part a representation of the events of Mask of Light. The little black rocks surrounding Makuta seem to be symbolic of the Rahkshi, although that could be interpreted as types of Rahi. (And then the Toa defeating Makuta as they do at the end of this game.) However, this animation sets up the expectation that the Toa Mata actually are supposed to defeat Makuta in the end. (They do in the game, but not in the rest of Bionicle, leaving this entirely self-contained.) This one also foreshadows Journey’s End, too – Mata Nui comes down, Makuta is bigger, and Mata Nui falls over and shrinks. Prototype is smaller than Makuta’s big bot. And the Toa come to defeat his minions and stuff. The in-game parallel is the best, though, really. The telescope pictures are meant to represent and foreshadow the events of the game, particularly each chapter from the opening menu. There’s the argument that these pictures represent the Bionicle story as a whole, but I think you would need to stretch it pretty badly to get that out of it. The ending does look like it, with a picture of a giant robot face, a shiny thing that looks like the golden armor, Makuta, and then Mata Nui. But there’s too much game specific stuff, like the Bohrok under the Mata Nui symbol (an early hint that the Bohrok actually served him), and the early pictures of Tahu and Gali Mata, which have no other story parallels. * * * From this point forward, the gameplay is rather ambiguous. Ga-Koro or Ta–Koro first? I’ve played it both ways. People told me back in 2010 that it was Ta first, but the BS01 walkthrough says Ga first, like how I did it all those years ago. In all of my years of playing MNOG, I have never seen the Tahu “looking away” animation anywhere than in the book of chronicles. It’s probably a glitch with the version of MNOG that I burned to a disk way back in 2006. I’m sure BMP has a better version, but for some reason I can’t bear to part with this one. Nostalgia. I nitpick these game mechanics…there’s really excuse for all of these turns around. Still 2001 though. Also yonder emergency pump, given the events of 2005 with the airships, is storyline realism, and it establishes female Ga-Matoran engineers. Yeah! The picture’s in Nixie’s hut count as semi-forshadowing of the events of 2008-09. The top picture shows that Mata Nui is on a planet, the bottom one a doll-like guy on a planet-circle. These fishermen guys look pretty cool. Nice catch, dudes. Wait... Yeah. For some reason, the Kakama looks like a guy mask to me. Someone is really determined to go fishing. I mean, a Tarakava monster is about to invade, and this gal is determined to catch a big one. Look at those eyes. News travels fast on Mata Nui. All of the Turaga’s huts have their respective Toa’s masks hung up in their huts. Nokama has Gali’s mask, for example; Onewa has Pohatu’s. The Matoran at the front of the tunnel to Onu-Koro from Po-Wahi is Midiak, as confirmed by Greg. Takua has visions? Only in MNOG… If you look closely in the Ko-Koro cablecar animation, you can see a black McToran outline. If you’re sharp-eyed, you’ll notice that the talents of the Matoran in the final battle match the “Principles” from MNOG II…except for Kapura. Makuta’s eyes look hallow, like nothing is behind them. Nothing… Tahu looks dismembered on his final attack – and Onua looks so…girly? The Kestora watch the proceedings from the Red Star.
  5. But don't tell nobody. In all seriousness though, I might actually come back here if the leaks are true. In the meantime, I'm gonna get back to playing on the xbox one with some mods from this site. And I'm waaaay too lazy to find the font or do my signature anymore.
  6. An extremely fast build I made one lazy Sunday afternoon. I tried to assemble it completely out of Anakin's Y-Wing Starfighter, hence the odd build and many missing details. However, I don't think I did too badly. Tell me what you think. (I would post a pic directly here, but I'm too lazy to resize it.) Pose Front Side (Ignore the messy background. It was sitting on my brother's dresser when I took the photos.)
  7. Prologue iBrow – or Voltex – or Tex, it no longer mattered – remained kneeling right where the Mysterious Figure had left him. Sector 31 shimmered around him, morphing into a huge cavern filled with lava that boiled and lashed against the rock trapping it. After a moment, the Matoran realized that he wasn’t just enraged – his rage was radiating off of him in waves. What was going on? He opened his palm and a ball of fire lit itself in the middle; he hurled it at the wall and the flames spewed all over the ancient stones before vanishing. So that was what was happening. It was time to get his Staff back. --- A cloaked figure stood atop the Coliseum in Metru-Nui, Staff held high. Bolts of lighting crackled away from the staff in arcs, striking bodies all over the destroyed city and awakening the dead. As the sole survivor raced to the surface to proclaim the good news, the figure atop the Coliseum allowed a brief smile to form – hope was a powerful weapon. BANG. The figure was blasted from behind and propelled forwards by the explosion, tumbling right to the edge of the Coliseum before coming to a stop. Down below, the revived Matoran all began to point – after all, it wasn’t everyday that a blazing inferno struck the tower. “I think you have something that belongs to me,” the newcomer said. The figure stood, glancing from the staff and then back to the new arrival. Before the newcomer could react, the figure pointed the staff and sent a sphere of solid shadow at him, striking him in the chest and sending him reeling. “No!” the newcomer shouted. “I am Voltex, I am the Pyro! You will not defeat me!” Lunging faster than the eye could track, Voltex tackled the figure and grabbed the Staff, attempting to rip the Staff from the thief’s grasp. However, the figure was just as strong, as the energy radiating from the Staff was absorbed by them both. --- Down below, the Matoran scattered as a larger bolt of lightning flashed down towards them, slamming into the ground with so much force that the ground shattered underneath it, fracturing for a twenty foot radius. “What is going on up there?” one of the Matoran wondered aloud. --- Voltex was wondering the exact same thing as he dodged another shadow blast, slamming both fists onto the platform, an explosion of fire erupting upon impact and knocking the figure back, though an icy gale immediately swept through, preventing the attack from doing the damage intended. The figure sent another blast of lightning at him through the Staff but Voltex easily dodged, leaping forward and snatching the Staff for himself. That was, ironically, his biggest mistake. As soon as he began to teleport away, the Figure grabbed the Staff and counteracted the teleport; the Staff, its defenses already stripped thin by the two combatants, retaliated with a shockwave of pure energy that sliced through the Coliseum like butter before cleaving through the ground underneath. As both halves of the Coliseum began to collapse, the Mysterious Figure ripped the Staff away from Voltex’s hands and teleported away, leaving the would-be Host falling through the sky. --- To those on the planet far below, the enormous robot bearing down on them didn’t exactly inspire confidence. When a blinding white wave of pure energy ripped the robot into two pieces, however, their curiosity was aroused. Three of the figures extended their wings and took off into the skies to search more closely. --- Before Voltex could die from hitting the ground of Metru-Nui, the ground was no longer there. The colossal robot they had all been inhabiting was splitting down the middle, and the next instant Metru-Nui itself was separating; and then suddenly Voltex was no longer alone in the air. Fire consumed Metru-Nui as everything that could explode did explode, as per what one would expect of a giant robot being destroyed. While the ruined halves of the robot’s giant head fell towards the desert planet below, the rest of the robot spiraled off elsewhere into space. But we’re concerned with Voltex right now, and he was (unfortunately) also headed for the desert planet below. Voltex sailed past the spiraling Portalfig and the flailing Lloyd; past the screaming Xaeraz (though Voltex was 99.9% certain the screaming was because the bloodthirsty Matoran was having fun with the impromptu skydiving). The X and Canis both tumbled across his path, battered by wreckage streaming from the ruined city below them. Taka Nuvia, who had just survived the recent invasion, was tucked into a ball to avoid the same misfortune. --- The three figures – the Sentinels, watched as 25 figures spiraled towards the surface of the planet, smokes streaming from their bodies and marking the air behind them. The flaming wreckage of what had once been the head of a mighty robot was the first to land, crashing into the desert sand with such force that the surface visibly shifted, fire and metal and stone and smoke flying in all directions. Then, one by one, the falling figures landed, tumbling through the sand and clouding the area with the microscopic grains, obscuring everything from view. The three Sentinels glanced at each other silently before diving one by one into the center of the wreckage, where the 25 figures had landed in various places. --- Voltex lay upon the sand, his chest heaving in an attempt to breathe as the remnant powers left behind by the Staff of Unlimited Power repaired his body. He slowly stood to his feet, wavering as the action caused more power to radiate from him into the bodies of the other players, reviving them one by one as three figures descended from the obscured skies. “Wh-who are you?” the Host asked, his voice hoarse from the harsh air. “We are the Sentinels,” one answered, “and you are going to need us if you want to survive.” “The skies are dark!” A Matoran (maybe Pulse) yelled. “I’m looking for something,” Voltex said. “The Staff of Unlimited Power – it was stolen.” The three Sentinels glanced to each other. “Then you are in trouble indeed… the darkest days are upon us. Let us hope that the darkened skies are not an omen for worse to come.” Rules: 1. BZP Rules Apply 2. Roles will have 2 days to pm each night. 2 days will be given to vote for each lynching. 3. A group pm will be used for the Hunters - decisions must be made final there unless otherwise stated. 4. You cannot reveal your sibling in-topic. 5. Not a rule, per se; just that, if you're changing your vote, pleeeeease tell me who you're changing from. Roles: Every player within The Village or The Hunters factions will have one other sibling. You will be notified of your sibling via pm, but will not know your sibling's role. The Village Matoran x18 - Once more the ordinary villagers, the Matoran can only vote for suspects during the day that they believe to be guilty. Medic x1 – A Ko-Matoran deeply involved in the medical field who has gone through this experience before. He can target one other player each night to save. This power extends to the sibling of the target, if any are still alive. The Medic cannot save himself or his sibling. Detective x1 – A roaming Matoran that has a lot of experience with the Hunters and has learned the ways of discovering them. He can investigate one player each night to discover their true identity. The Hunters The Coder x1 – This Hunter kills as usual – however, they are so skilled at scrambling the brains of those around them and their ways of communication are so complicated that no hints to their identity can be given. As such, when The Coder kills, no suspect list will be given. The Coder turns up innocent in investigations. The Father x1 – As the unofficial leader of the Hunters, The Father is so skilled at killing that he can kill two people in one night when sent, possibly killing four when siblings die as well. However, when The Father is sent the suspect list is cut in half from six to three. The Cloaker x1 – This Hunter kills as usual – however, this Hunter once trained alongside the Medic, and is skilled in the medical field. As such, one other Hunter cane be completely shielded on nights that The Cloaker is active. That Hunter cannot be killed, and the suspect list will be expanded from six to eight. The Sniper x1 – This Hunter kills as usual, hunting from afar. Due to this, no lynchings can occur for the Sniper during rounds where The Sniper is active, as it takes twice as long for the Detective to procure a suspect list. However, The Sniper can be lynched the following round in a suspect list shortened from six to four. The Hunter x1 – This Hunter is your typical everyday Hunter, with no real special abilities. However, some say that this Hunter’s opinion counts the highest when the group decides who to kill each night. The Others Sentinels x3 – These three Av-Matoran have special powers. Each night, they can select as many players as there are surviving Sentinels to protect from the Hunters and Mysterious Figure(up to three). If targeted for death or the sibling of a player targeted for death by the Hunters, these players will instead survive. However, their siblings will still be killed by the action. The Sentinels do not have siblings. Mysterious Figure x1 – Each night he can kill one player – however, that player’s sibling will survive the attack. This player can only die once the entire Hunters group is eliminated or all three Sentinels are killed. This player turns up as a Matoran if investigated. The Mysterious Figure is the thief of the Staff of Unlimited Power, and it is their fault that this game is occurring. The Mysterious Figure does not have a sibling. Detective Voltex x1 – An official role given to Voltex, who should have been the host of the game. Voltex cannot be killed at all and has no siblings. Due to the Staff of Unlimited Power being stolen, Voltex cannot perform his duties properly – as such, he is undertaking investigations to discover who stole the staff. Each day, more evidence towards the Mysterious Figure’s identity will be given to the Detective, who may choose to share the information as they wish. Players: 1. Protalgif 2. 8. I'm surprised there isn't a topic for this. Discuss the games here.
  9. IANSo, I created a character for my entry into RPG Contest #24. He was based on Wheatley.I just thought, 'Hey, let's make a GLaDOS MOC and stick him on the front!'. So I did.FrontSideAboveBelowBelow 2Comment, constructively criticise, complain about the lighting and camera quality... you know the drill.- Vorex

  12. Well, after playing almost non-stop since 2:00 in the morning, I beat Portal 2. Soooooo... Who wants to PM me their Steam info to play co-op?
  13. :D Yeah, you might not see me for a while.
  14. Happy Birthday 2 MeHappy Birthday Hero!Chapter 1 – Why Are We Here?iBrow Comedy ProductionsSome Jail Cell Somewhere in Some PlaceiBrow bolted up into a sitting position, slamming back down onto the pillow when his face collided with a valve that should not have been there.Where am I? He thought. Last thing I remember is that we were about to chow down on some cake... oh, the lies!Shaking his head sadly, he sat up (avoiding the valve, which after his collision with it had begun to emit steam) and stood to his feet. A quick glance around the room told him where he was: barebones gray walls, bars over the window, and a Lambda symbol on the door sufficed. He was in jail.Naturally, this wasn’t going to stop him.Naturally, this isn’t going to stop ME. iBrow thought, grabbing a white gun from the bedside table. Pointing it at the wall, he clicked the right trigger and an orange portal appeared, revealing a hallway that appeared to be built out of LEGO bricks.“Curious.” He said to himself. “Curious indeed....”He stepped out into the hall, only to leap back inside his room when a flurry of bullets flew across his nose. Poking an eye out, he saw a Turret standing on top of a white platform halfway up the hall.“I’m different.” It called.“Yeah... right.” He muttered. “Different my mask, you oaf.”He fired a blue portal underneath the Turret, causing it to pop out in front of him and beginning firing along the wall before exploding.“Strange.”With that, he activated his Kanohi Volitak and began to make his way to the exit, remembering where he’d been before he woke up in a jail cell.Flashback [insert Flash of White Here]iBrow chuckled as Hero’s Fedora Hat fell into the ice cream, which was mostly melted. Hero muttered furiously for a few seconds before slowly pulling it- soaking wet and dripping ice cream- from the bowl.“Darn it. My Uncharted themed birthday party is ruined!” Hero pouted.“Uncharted?” iBrow asked, glancing over to Ingeitum, who was wearing a paper boat hat and had a sniper rifle in his hands. “I thought this was....”“Of course it’s Uncharted, numb nuts!” Hero snorted. “What else would it be?!”“Team Fortress 2.” iBrow muttered under his breath.End Flashback [insert Flash of White Here]iBrow frowned. That part of the party had sucked. Some Other Jail CellHero yawned as he crawled out of his bed, somehow avoiding the valve in his way and failing to notice the lambda symbol on his door as he took in the room.“What a lovely place.” He yawned. “A little drab though, to be admitted. You’d think Ingeitum and iBrow could’ve found a better place to hang while we sleep off our (milk) hangovers.”Glancing around, he frowned.“Where are iBrow and Ingeitum?” he questioned. “This isn’t going to be like the Hangover, is it? Where I’m the one of the roof for like four hours?”Then he noticed the Gravity Gun on his bedside table.“Sweet!” he grinned. “A Gravity Gun! I don’t know how I know that, but I know that I know that. And the fact that I know that and that I know that I know that makes me awesome. Which of course I have known for some time.”He then proceeded to yank open his door with the Gravity Gun in hand and marched into the hallway, only to have some slimy thing with weird legs leap onto his face.“Argh! Horror movie! Horror game! Horror comedy!” he screamed, flailing around. “Must-get-crowbar-yes!”Grabbing the crowbar from next to his bed with his free hand, Hero slammed the creature off with it. When he was able to see again, he made a face and groaned.“Disgusting!” he groaned. “I hate Headcrabs!”He then proceeded to use the Gravity Gun to fling it out the window, where it would land on the poor Matoran Jaller’s head. But that’s not important. What is important is that Hero was now having a flashback of his own to his birthday party.Flashback [insert Flash of Brown Here]Hero chuckled as he fixed his Fedora, while grabbing a can of root beer. As he did so, he accidentally knocked over iBrow’s winter hat (which his friend liked to call “Napper’s Respite” for whatever reason) into the ice cream. “Darn it Hero!” iBrow muttered, walking over with a gas mask on and a flamethrower in his hands. “Now I’m gonna have to wear the stupid Seal Mask.”Hero shrugged as iBrow pulled out a paper Seal Mask and slapped it on top of the gas mask, while incinerating the entire picnic table.“All better.” iBrow said happily (or at least, Hero thought he sounded happy). “I haven’t gotten to use my Backburner in weeks!”“Hey iBrow, can you set my arrow on fire?” Ingeitum questioned, a Bow and Arrow in his hands. “I’m trying to snipe Nathan over there.”“Nathan?” Hero questioned. “As in Nathan Drake?”“Uh....” Ingeitum trailed off. “Um... no?”iBrow glanced at him, and Ingeitum grinned sheepishly.“Okay, whatever.” Hero waved his hands. “If it’s not Nathan Drake, then it’s fine. By the way guys- thanks for the Uncharted themed party.”Turning around, Hero of course didn’t notice iBrow and Ingeitum questioning each other on how Hero hadn’t noticed the Team Fortress 2 theme. He also didn’t hear the two of them questioning why he hadn’t realized it WAS Nathan Drake that Ingeitum was sniping.End Flashback [insert Flash of Brown Here]Yes, that was a wonderful party. Especially drinking all of that (milk). Yes, a wonderful party indeed. Now to get out.A Third Jail Cell:Ingeitum groaned as he stood up, smashing the valve in front of him into several pieces that spelled the word “Classic”, for whatever reason. He grabbed his Sniper Rifle and Bow and Arrow set from the bedside table and then attempted to reach the door; however, due to a serious case of lag, he began to ##### across the room, halting for several seconds before teleporting to his next location. It was extremely annoying, to say the least.Once he made his way out of the lambda-shaped door (which took what felt like three hours), Ingeitum found himself in a hallway, and was then promptly backstabbed by an invisible Spy who taunted his corpse and then ran away, laughing.Once he’d made his way out of the jail cell again, Ingeitum (still suffering from lag, unfortunately) managed to get to the exit, sniping that Spy along the way. Once at the exit, he saw Jaller with a Headcrab sucking on his mask, and Hewkii, Kongu, and Matoro all attempting to pull it off. Nearby, Tahu was throwing back (milk) after (milk) onto a chained up and writhing Icarax, who looked as if he’d been hit by a train.Shrugging laggily, Ingeitum made his way over to a picnic table and sat down to wait for iBrow and Hero. Suddenly, he began to have his own flashback....Flashback [insert Flash of Gray Here]But then he decided that he had too much lag at the moment to enjoy watching a memory, and so opted out.End Flashback [insert Flash of Gray Here]So he sat down and waited, bored. To Be Continued...How was it?Chapter 2 coming on Tuesday!Happy Birthday to The BIONICLE Hero!-ibrow
  15. Well here we are again. We have MoCists like Felix, Brickeens, and Oblivion who have improved their MoCing skills ten fold during the downtime. And then there's me. I admit that I haven't been working on MoCs a lot during the time the forums spent offline. The community has been my drive for making better MoCs and I didn't have them to help me along. Add that to the fact that my interest in Lego Bricks has been failing since Bionicle's end and needless to say my skills have not improved all that much. But... I did do some work and today I'll post some of it for you guys. Meet GLaDOS from Portal 2! >1<>2<>3<>4<Comparison Pic Thanks for taking a look at this!
  16. You probably thought this was GLaDOS - NOPE! Just Chuck Testa GLaDYS. I mean, it only bears a little resemblance to her... right? http-~~-//www.flickr.com/photos/albinomoosecake/sets/72157627870299095/ So this all started from the head, which IMO is still the best part of it. The rest just kinda randomly built around that, until it ended up looking a bit like GLaDOS. Also, it's my first big MOC in a while C&C greatly appreciated, people. I know Anky's is far better than mine, but whatevs. EDIT: Here's a link to the Flickr gallery if you can't see the slideshow: Flickr -FtC
  17. You've probably seen enough of these sorts of things already, but I just had to make one of my own. Presenting... GLaDYS -FtC
