She'd only stayed long enough to switch from her unarmed scoutship to a Faerie; this was too close to the recent invaders for her comfort. The Faerie, after a while, arrived in 2-28, having taken the same route as the Diemawr. That's a nine IP drain, something that is absurdly not cost effective in a pre 15 IP setting, and all it takes is one Tsar bomb making it pass your point defenses and bam, it's gone. Weaponwise, three mediums is better than one large and three more targets to try to hit. Larges are suppose to be intemidation and flagships, not the bulk of one's fleet, as all a large does is look big and scary and carry your superweapon. You could pin Rover in sure, but if he decides to ignore your satellite and settle anyways he can do that. It's not magical, it's a satellite broadcasting you claimed it. They can blow up the satellite and colonize it anyways.Ninja'd by the King. The great beast lumered forward into the sky, its fusion torch engines slowly accelerating it to a rather large speed. When it reached the safe-jump limit, it activated its drive and vanished.~+~The course was set through two more systems (Ithaka and Gallia) before the Damascus reached its destination. The system had been the site of a somewhat tense standoff recently, although the navy had advanced to give the colonists room to grow without alien intervention. The colonizer, a generation newer than the Masada colony, disassembled itself on automatic systems and began deorbiting with all of its pieces in synchronization. The colony landed gently of the surface of the planet and the colonists began their assigned work.OOC: Establishing Damascus colony on 1-16.
