The logo style is very reminiscent of the G1 packaging, so I suspect it's just a clever photoshop.

Either way, you can see a 1:1 of the movie-style Kraahkan on the side of the box, so I'd say no.

Wow, that's not even vaguely convincing as a fake. Look at that lack of detail. And that suspiciously-consistent blur. And the lack of correct graphics on the box, and outdated logos. And if that's not enough, direct your eyes to the set number, which is completely out of sequence with the other sets.

I'll be disappointed if anyone gets taken in by this, because it looks like the creator of this fake hardly even tried.

I could be misremembering, but if I'm not, then this was a really quick thing done for fun, not actually intended to fool anyone.

And if that's not enough, direct your eyes to the set number, which is completely out of sequence with the other sets.

& if my eyes aren't mistaken the set number on the box can't actually be 77069 anyway!; the middle number is not a zero, I think the last two are meant to be either 44 or 49 but I can't really tell...

Regardless as you say the numbers don't really match the pattern (70778 to 70795 [inclusive]) we've seen so far of Bionicle G2, ^{& to my understanding TLG was trying to avoid going back to the "pick any arbitrary number for a set" that they had for a while...}

Pretty much. I bought one of them to see what they were like when they first released them. Basically, they're these mech suits powered by a little tiny guy that rolls up into a ball. They're really poorly made and the joints tend to break or not work correctly (too tight or too loose). Also the little guys broke easily as well. They were held together by these little ball joints on a thin peg molded into their body parts and those could snap and break off, making it impossible to reattach their arms, legs, or heads. But yeah.

Compared to pretty much all other clone brands/bootlegs? I'd consider Mega Bloks respectable. After all, they've long since "grown out of" shamelessly copying Lego's own designs, so while their overall quality is still awful, their part and set designs are at least original instead of stolen outright.

I won't deny they're getting better, but frankly compared to say "legitimate" brands, they're still pretty bad.

I think respectable indicates something that has more merits than what is essentially honesty.

So yes I was probably being too harsh on the second line ^{(of that quote)}, but the "kinda okay" of the "meh" isn't what i'd call "good"...

If they made pieces that last, or had more pieces than an equivalent-priced LEGO product, I could understand the term respectable being tied to them.

But at least in Australia, they aren't that much cheaper than LEGO sets, and well, the quality of plastic isn't even close; I've seen a fair few Mega Blocks been broken within a month, even some of the dodgiest Bionicle sets seemed to last much longer!

They might portray the illusion of being a cheaper (but still good) product, and that's probably got more merit to it in other places, but really don't think they're a respectable brand. Not "the work of all that is evil" etc, but still not ...above average - unless of course you count bootlegs in your averaging process.

Which is somewhat kind of like saying that your boat is overpriced because people manage to travel 1400km in one trip, never-minding the amount of people that have drowned between say, Indonesia & Christmas Island ^{(which is a completely different topic!)}.

It's really not the baseline you want to set for building a boat.

And Bootlegs really shouldn't be the standard for legitimate brands, so yeah, I really don't see how Mega Blocks is above average...

There really isn't much more to discuss about 2015 Makuta, right? While I agree we've strayed from the topic, hasn't this image pretty much been declared fake? And by some weird miracle this was in fact a real image, wouldn't it be considered leaked content and therefore against the rules?

Yeah that is a fake no doubt (as everyone has already said so far) It would be very nice to see but I highly doubt we will be seeing one this year.

In protector form maybe but probebly not a full "titan" set at least not yet anyway.
