Elrond of Rivendell
Has anyone ever noticed that there are slight similarities between pieces in sets (for example, the chronicler's staff and makuta staff pieces)?Thanks,-The Bane! kalhiki
Well, the Chronicler's Staff is supposed to look like the Staff of Light. If I'm not mistaken, the Staff of Light was transformed from the Chronicler's Staff. But, yeah, I noticed. Another one I particularly like is an Av-Matoran limb that looks like a Vahki Leg. Pretty neat, if you ask me.Kalhiki Quote You're Doomed, Rayman!Boy! Ballom Nom Nom
Yes, I enjoy the fact that pieces made years apart will still have similar little greebles in them. It's a nice touch, that gives continuity.~B~
Akuna Toa of Sonics
I've noticed. A few examples are Solek's limbs/Vahki limbs, and Tanma legs/Nuva legs(in my opinion). Taipu1
Well, the Chronicler's Staff is supposed to look like the Staff of Light. If I'm not mistaken, the Staff of Light was transformed from the Chronicler's Staff. It was actually a Kohlii stick. I like how Vahki Zadakh's staffs of deception appear to have Gali's sea hooks on the end of them. Quote - Taipu1.HighFly MatoranShowdownBZPRPG ProfilesHave you seen my Blog? PooZy
They should have a 'style' to them, makes the pieces work better in a MOC imo.
P962
Malum's claws remind me of Onua Mata's claws. Quote A Toa eh? What kind of Toa am I? Kaleidoscope Tekulo
Axonn's mask reminds me of the chest piece for Toa Metru combined with Toa Nuva shoulder armor. But, yes, I've noticed other similarities in pieces as well, though some of them were mentioned previously. Lewa0111 Nuva
Inika torsos remind me of Inika torsos. :PBut seriously, I've noticed those kinds of intentional similarities and it's always cool. Like how the Kualsi looks like a Vahi head, or the aforementioned Makuta's staff thing. It's a nice touch. Lewa0111 Nuva Quote My Script Comedies: | The Nuva Inn Remake | Ask Matau! Dralcax
The Mahritoran dagger and the Toa Ignika sword look like long/short versions of each other and can always be combined to form a nice unbroken edge.
Makuta_of_Oz
How about the Toa Mata foot making a return in 2008 after last being used in 2004? I wish they'd do the same with Rahkshi feet. Peach 00
Every once and awhile, yes.How about the Toa Mata foot making a return in 2008 after last being used in 2004? I wish they'd do the same with Rahkshi feet. The Rahkshi feet I remember were used on Carapar for his feet, if I recall. And they were on one of the Stars sets, were they not? So, a return to 2002 to 2007/2010 isn't too bad, I guess. Quote On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away slipped away... Earth Green Rahkshi backs do exist (in a Vikings set), as do Earth Green Rahkshi heads (in Rahaga Iruini). ;)Anyway, I love when older parts are referenced in newer part designs as it helps to establish stylistic consistency. This was good for both MOCing and drawing, as stylistic consistency can really tie a design together even if it uses several very different parts. The 1st Shadow
The "frog-feet" from that originated on the Piraka; the center of them resembles the Gahlok-Kal's shield, I noticed. Also, (may have been mentioned already) Maxilos' helmet resembles a Kanohi Hau.There are so many others I've noticed, but I don't have access to my sets at the moment.
