Zaphos is a Barbarian class being.I typically play a Paladin, but Levacius in these RPGs is a pretty big multiclass. Most levels are in Ranger, though. He has some kind of homebrew feat to make his familiar and animal companion the same. So dread the bird.He couldn't really be a Paladin. He started of Chaotic Good (Neutral) and only recently started falling towards Lawful Good. And now he's falling backwards.There's also the armor factor. I'm speaking from the way that I prefer to see things run.As you said, this is my RPG, so I should make it clear that PCs are not considered more powerful than NPCs.Think of PCs as protagonists. Is a story's protagonist necessarily more powerful than background characters? Not always. Take Star Wars: Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are main characters, but Mace Windu and Yoda, despite being more in the background, are far more powerful. The reason they aren't protagonists is because they don't apply to the story as much as Anakin and Obi-Wan do.Remember: NPCs are skilled. A lot of them are more skilled than PCs. But your PCs are the important characters. That doesn't mean they win all the time; it doesn't even guarantee that your character will survive till the end; but it does mean they have a direct role to play in this RPG's storyline.
