Lenny7092 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Hi, guys. I wish to encourage you to go support these Lego Ideas projects (and hope they will make it): 1. https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/0c0af951-ac83-4953-b375-8439dae22d40 (Bionicle: Ta-Koro). 2. https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/adb5ec0e-b1ed-4298-b1d5-2521c3c5b059 (Jaller and Takua). Both are related to the movie, Bionicle: Mask of Light, in 2003. This year is Bionicle’s 25th anniversary, so be serious on that, please. Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!
That Matoran with a Vahi Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I'd already seen the Jaller and Takua one because it was featured on one of the site's weekly email updates; but that Ta-Koro one is new to me! It looks seriously impressive, and a slice of the Bionicle world like that is exactly what I'd love to see in a modern-day Bionicle set. Incredible work on the part of the designer 3 Quote "New legends awake, but old lessons must be remembered. For that is the way of the BIONICLE."
P~M Posted February 24 Posted February 24 The Ta-Koro design is very cool. The stud hole bricks on the bottom layer make me wish they lined up with the Modular Buildings connections, lol. Quote
kawaii kitty Posted February 24 Posted February 24 ta koro is the best option here. not sure what the chance of it getting through the review proccess are tough. Quote
Lenny7092 Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 We got a new one. It’s called “Tahu Mask - Bionicle Picture”. It’s basically a mosaic. Go support it! https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/64daf212-e593-404c-a665-d0f5976be364 1 Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!

It’s basically a mosaic this isn't actually that good at least in my opinion. it's not based on particular piece of art, making it much more detached from the tahu it's trying to potray. it's by no menas perfect, but i prefer my tahu mosasic. Cheesy Mac n Cheese Posted May 16 Posted May 16 It would be nice to get more stuff, but it’s sad we’ll never get another constraction set. Quote My friend went to Po-Wahi and all I got was this lousy rock. Blue sea...a Ruki leaps...the sound of water

I know we haven’t seen a constraction set for a long time, but have hope for that. For now, please support the projects presented here. Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!
Nato G Posted May 16 Posted May 16 3 hours ago, Lenny7092 said: Who says “never”? Lego did. When they scrapped the moulds for the entire CCBS parts library. Given how constraction ultimately failed, there's simply no financial incentive for Lego to create an entire new building system again. 1 Quote Stars Apart - My Debut Novel - Preorders/First Chapter Embers - A Bionicle Saga - Chapters/Review Ballads Of The Bionicle - Lore/Character Songs BZPRPG Characters - Minnorak, Kain, T'harrak, Savis, Vazaria, Lash, The Outsiders Ghosts Of Bara Magna - Ash Tribe - Precipere - Kehla, Somok, Skrall, Gayle, Avinus, Zha'ar
Cheesy Mac n Cheese Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) It just isn’t really Bionicle when it uses System parts. Bionicle was almost its own brand, and Lego purists actually dismissed it. And I don’t think modern Technic parts are suited to posable characters (that was never really the point of them anyway, the Rahi using mostly standard parts took a lot of creativity, though they were lacking in the posability department). Also, Lego sadly gets most of its visibility from licensed properties now, I think. I haven’t really been closely following them as an adult, but just walking through the toy aisle says a lot. Some Creator sets, but a ton of Star Wars, Mario, Sonic, Wicked, whatever. And a third to a half of the aisle is for adults anyway, never thought I’d see that when I was a kid. (Rant: adult collectors and investors have ruined the toy market. You can almost never just go to the store and buy a toy anymore, scalpers take anything popular. I say this as an adult who occasionally buys a toy as a collector’s piece and as an uncle who buys toys for the kids in his family.) Around me the LEGO aisle feels like 60% Star Wars, Harry Potter and Super Heroes with tiny enclaves of City and Creator (plus a noticeable amount of those real-life racecar sets which I suppose is a gray area). We all laughed at Friends and Elves but in hindsight I miss LEGO taking risks with original IPs like that. The last LEGO IP that felt unique to me, at least in the online space, was Monkie Kid but now that I think about it I don't remember ever seeing actual sets on shelves promoted heavily. I'm an adult fan who uses LEGO as an escapist coping mechanism and now that it's so transparently trying to be nostalgic, it's not. The grimdark stuff of BIONICLE 2005/2006 was important because I think kids should be able to explore darker themes without being traumatized for life and it feels like everything for kids now is either all in or all out. But if Lego wanted to they could bring them back. There's a new(ish) book called the secret life of bricks, and it goes into detail about lego molds and that its actually cheaper for lego to get rid of molds and then make them again as opposed to sitting on them without using them for years. Not saying they will, they probably won't... but if they wanted to they could. Anyways, it's a cool build. 1 Quote Formerly Iron_Man5

Master Inika Posted July 5 Posted July 5 This is another one just in "cool MOC" territory for me 1 Quote EXO-WARS: an EXO-FORCE fanfic "You are an absolute in these uncertain times.
