bioniclesendoff Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Hi everyone, Like many of you, I’ve spent years wondering how the final G1 serials were meant to end. I’ve started a petition at https://change.org specifically focused on getting closure for the G1 story and preserving the media that shaped this community. This isn't a "Bring Back Bionicle" movement—it's a request to The LEGO Group to help us finish the story and ensure the legacy of Bionicle is preserved for the future. If you’ve ever wanted to see the final chapters of the story we grew up with, please consider signing and sharing. 1 1 Quote
Nato G Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Myths and Legacy have you covered. They wrote continuations of both the unfinished serials. They consulted with Greg Farshtey on his plans for those stories, and do a great job of emulating his writing style. They're as close as we're ever going to get to seeing the 'real' thing. 2 Quote Embers - A Bionicle Saga - Chapters/Review Ballads of the Bionicle - lore/character songs BZPRPG Characters - Minnorak, Kain, T'harrak, Savis, Vazaria, Lash, The Outsiders Ghosts Of Bara Magna - Ash Tribe - Precipere - Kehla, Somok, Skrall, Gayle, Avinus, Zha'ar
InfinityStuffBionicle Posted April 25 Posted April 25 there's no way that an official finishing of g1's serials are happening, unless it takes the form of Bionicle G3 2 Quote Previous username: Takanuva111 GENERATION 6: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Even if they brought Greg and some of the other story guys back, I’m not sure it would have the same tone due to shifts in the company’s strategy and priorities. They gave them a lot of creative freedom, and the current culture of most big companies is to consolidate and retain strict control over properties. Master Inika Posted April 27 Posted April 27 This just isn't a good idea. The moment is over (and has been over for over 10 years). After a while, I get the feeling that in some way the incompleteness of The Yesterday Quest and The Powers That Be is part of the story, like the missing first portion of Suetonius' The Twelve Caesars. Consuming BIONICLE G1 media now requires both consuming the narrative itself as well as the meta-narrative of BIONICLE's rise and fall from the forefront of public consciousness. Like the ship of Theseus, the LEGO organization might still exist, but it's not the same LEGO that made BIONICLE, except in the strictly legal sense. It's starting to feel more and more like G1 itself was just the introduction to BIONICLE is some grander more ethereal sense and that G2 was the wake-up call we needed to realize that (aside from the physical toys, and the scale and professionalism of the physical media) LEGO can't necessarily tell a better BIONICLE story than we can anymore. 1 1 Quote COMING SOON! Chronicler06 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 As far as LEGO doing anything official regarding Bionicle, the best case scenario I can possibly foresee (unlikely as it might be) would be releasing the occasional system sets, either brick-built recreations of some of the iconic figures (like that Tahu and Takua gift-with-purchase set that came out not long ago and applying that concept to the rest of the Toa Mata) or something like playsets of some iconic places or events (such as portions of the villages of Mata Nui with some Matoran minifigures doing their usual tasks, or perhaps the Kini Nui temple when the Toa Nuva battled against the Rahkshi with the characters in minifigure form and some functions to reenact certain moments of that battle). If themes like Harry Potter could get new sets several years after those movies came out (and despite a certain controversy) and Ninjago released some special legacy sets during anniversary years, it's possible that a G3 Bionicle would likely be just a retelling of G1 Bionicle, except with unique minifigures and brick system playsets. Cheesy Mac n Cheese Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) Echoing what others just said, Lego is just not that interested in constraction anymore (I don’t even regularly buy Lego anymore but I browse the toy aisle often enough to see this). We will never see another Technic Bionicle set, let alone the more unique system that developed after it was promoted to its own line rather than a subline of Technic. And as much as I’d like some closure for those specific storylines (particularly because the survival of very important characters hinges on them), I simply don’t trust Lego to revive the storyline in a way that does the franchise justice. If it comes back I’m afraid they’ll do some incredibly corporate, mainstream, Hollywood-friendly MCU/Nu Wars style thing when it should be a self-contained science-fantasy world written specifically for fans. Again, even if they hired Greg again I sincerely doubt he’d be given nearly as much freedom as he had before. He only got the freedom he had because he proved his worth to them, and remember that they recently laid him off, so that should say a lot what they think of him now. Why are you only just now interested in starting this? Lenny7092 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Hey, man. I believe in you. I want the G1 story and Hero Factory story to be completed, too (plus, have them share the same universe. On a side note, I’m working on a fan story called “Bionicle and Hero Factory United” for 4.5 years). It’s been too long. I am planning on sending the story (or a script) to Lego to try to convince them. Have hope. We have to make people help us with this. We have to try. Don’t listen to people who want to put you down. Trust me. It’s nice to read fan stories, but still. Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!

You haven't updated it since 2022, so I assumed you were done with it. LEGO doesn't accept unsolicited story ideas from the public. Greg used to have to tell people (like me) that over and over again. It's a liability issue to protect LEGO from people claiming LEGO stole their ideas. 7 hours ago, Lenny7092 said: Don’t listen to people who want to put you down. Trust me.
