REDECORATED CHARACTERS
Character Name: Arillan
Species: Toa
Gender: Male
Appearance: Appears as a Metru-style Toa with dark green armor, slightly mixed up in a few places to help blend in with foliage. He also wears a black robe retrieved from a cache, and appears to wear a green Mask of Illusions.
Powers: Elemental Powers of Air. Specializes in Vacuums.
Weapons/Equipment: Kanohi Crast, the Great Mask of Repulsion. Kanohi Hau, the Great Mask of Shielding. Kanohi Garai, the Great Mask of Gravity. He carries a handmade bow from the Shadowtangle, along with a quiver holding 25 arrows with stone tips. He also has a Protosteel Tomahawk and a metal dagger.
Bio: Arillan was once a woodworker, specializing as a bowyer. As time passed, he grew bored of the job. When the Toa of his village died from poisoning, a tournament was to be held by the Matoran to choose his successor. Arillan stole the whole lot of Toa stones and used all of them at once. Because of his corrupt motives, his armor was twisted and his mask took on an immoral nature. His first kill – for sport, not necessity – came about a year later. He grew more and more corrupt over time, culminating in killing a Dark Hunter who stole his target. The Shadowed One ordered his capture, and the Shepherds of Pain took advantage by capturing him shortly after his final murder.
Arillan is a master archer, even with the poor quality bow he has been forced to make from scratch. He doesn’t like alliances, and would rather just kill everyone than deal with them. Not to say that he’s actively looking to murder as many people as he can. Just that he wishes they would all go away (aka die). One of his most dangerous targets was Laelius. He later attempted to kill Laelius again, but only succeeded in taking out Team Patronages former Toa of Air, and was unable to finish the job due to Caretaker intervention.
Character Name: Levacius
Species: Toa
Gender: Male
Appearance: Levacius is a white armored Toa wearing a grey Kanohi Hau in Artahka style. He has two hilts strapped over his back for his swords. He also wears a protosteel scale breastplate, along with a right pauldrons, inscribed with three runes that all stand for ‘Deathbringer’. He also has a jetpack.
Powers: Elemental Powers of Lightning. Specializes in electric/stasis fields.
Weapons/Equipment: Great Mask of Sensory Aptitude (used primarily for balance assistance). He has two collapsible protosteel longswords (copyright Myr the Blacksmith) that can lengthen or shorten, with wolf heads at the pommel and three runes identical to those on his armor; generally one is kept shorter and the other longer, due to his fighting style. His jetpack allows him to fly as if he was using a Kadin (read: good, but not very steady). He has a pack with three lightstones, a waterskin made from Kane-Ra hide. He has another pack with a heatstone and a whetstone.
Bio: Levacius was long ago a scientist in service to the League of Six Kingdom, and later a Matoran soldier in a war between the leftovers of the League disbanding. During the sacking of a large fortress, he found the suva of the local Toa along with a Toa stone, and became a Toa of Lightning. He came to have almost the entire eastern half of the Northern Continent under his command before the Makuta stepped in. His actions of trapping his fortress (and destroying a mountain in the process) killed some thirty Rahkshi and doomed him to Brotherhood actions.
Levacius escaped death by going to hiding on Stelt, under the alias of the ‘Griffon’. His life was a good one onboard his ship, the Griffon. The Brotherhood eventually connected the dots as to who he was after he had a bounty across half of the universe (whilst the other half declared him and his crew to be a bunch of heroes). Rather than directly involve themselves, the Brotherhood attacked the Griffon with a small fleet of vagabonds.
Levacius entrusted his most prized possessions with his crew, who he sent away to safety, before fleeing with just himself and the ship. His ship escaped after many days of chasing, but a shot to the hull forced him to crash on an island. An elite team of Shepherds servants found him and, at the cost of two of their number, they were able to capture the poorly equipped Toa.
He awoke on the Island of Pain, and had to make due with what he could. Focusing solely on survival, he went about tricking a group of others to help him build a small vessel before sailing around the island and coming to a few realizations about the Shepherds and their nature. Eventually, his better nature got the better of him, and he met up with a number of others. He is a part of the Wolves of Liberty, an organization whose purpose is to defeat the Shepherds of Flesh and escape the Island of Pain.
Character Name: Kopraga
Species: Unique Entity
Gender: Male
Appearance: Kopraga stands two Bio tall. His body is primarily grey with some purple, red, and streaks of black mixed in. His hands and feet end in sharp claws. The claws on his hand can retract or lengthen from ¼” to 3”. He wears no mask, and has a highly organic mask. He has huge, ebon wings that spread out over eight Bio. He can pull them close, wrap them around him as a cloak, and manipulate them like any other limb. He can impale enemies with the spikes on their tips. The appear to be plated, but this does not hamper flight, which is far faster than walking. He is very agile in flight, though not so much as one using a Kadin and bearing the proper skills. He has a long, sinuous tail with a barbed tip which he uses for balance.
Powers: Elemental Powers of Shadow. Shadow Stealers shadow abilities. Shadow transport is limited to three Bio. His body is fragile and poorly armored, but his wings are nigh indestructible, unable to be dented even by protosteel, and unable to feel pain. He can block attacks with them. He understands the spoken and written languages of all but Rahi. His face prevents him from physically using Kanohi Masks, though he has the mental discipline to do so. He can latch his talons through solid rock, and cut metallic protodermis with his claws. He has immunity to mind control, disease, and telepathy. He is resistant against poison, but weak against light. He has no inner light.
Weapons/Equipment: Kopraga uses only his natural weapons and powers. He also has a band of crystal on his right index finger which is inscribed in ancient Matoran runes that seems irremovable.
Bio: Kopraga is an ancient being, among the oldest in the Matoran Universe. Few know he exists; those knowing his name can be counted on a single hand. His reason for existence is uncertain, but one thing is known – he seeks power, and any items that bear large amounts of it. Primary among them are the legendary Kanohi – the Ignika and the Vahi – and also a set of seven crystal rings which he says are exactly like the one he wears. He promises that if he finds all of them, he will kill every last member of the Shepherds of Pain horribly.
He learned of the Order of Mata-Nui, and attempted to track down one of their members. That member happened to be enslaved by the Shepherds. His attempts to get to the slave were fruitless, as he had died already. After killing a number of slaves and slavers alike, the Shepherds successfully captured him and deposited him in Toothy Bane as punishment.
Character Name: Elynirus
Species: Pseudo-Toa
Gender: Female
Appearance: Elynirus appears as a slightly smaller Toa with about 18% more mechanical components. She isn’t as heavily armored, being more lithe and agile. Her armor is mostly purple, with black on her chest, knees, elbows, and hands. Her mask appears as a Great Mask of Undeath with the eyepieces glossed over as purple rather than black.
Powers: Elynirus has no Kanohi or Elemental powers; she is not a true Toa, despite appearance. She does, however, bear a recharging source of pure Toa energy. Though she has recently suffered trauma that has resulted in a large loss of knowledge, she could use her powers for the following uses –
- Heal injuries, purge poison or disease, destroy the influence of infected Kanohi, or stop mind control with physical contact. She cannot repair injuries to the brain or nervous system, or anything of such serious natures.
- Create rays of energy. Red rays send large amounts of Toa energy at the target. Normal Toa (such as the Metru or Mata, but not the Nuva or Hordika) and most Matoran Universe species will suffer severe pain. Robotic beings will be unaffected. Partial Toa and Turaga will suffer half effect. Fully organic beings suffer double affect. Antidermis type beings suffer triple affect. Blue rays affect Toa only by causing their natural power to turn on them, leading to nausea and the inability to think straight, but not physically damaging them. Green rays cannot affect living or formerly living materials, or protosteel; normal protodermis and the like, however, is disintegrated.
- Create a 2 ft. diameter shield at any point on her body that cannot be pierced or cut. It can neutralized weak energy attacks but is disrupted by strong ones and sends painful feedback. Blunt force is not affected. Damage from the force and the impact of hitting something will still be taken; if she was in the air and knocked back, it would not be to any severe affect, however.
- Create an energy nimbus that allows her to slowly hover (about half a mile per hour). The glowing light could blind an Onu-Matroan who stares too long, but normal beings suffer no permanent ill affects. It’s just painful to look at.
- Convert Toa power into elemental energy and transfer it into another being, but not herself, and recharge their elemental powers. They must be at least partially be a Toa; those who are not true Toa will suffer some pain.
- Create Toa stones. The receiver must be destined to be a Toa for it to be of any use. This would put her out for a number of hours, and it would be longer than that before her powers were back.
Finally, Elynirus has mental shielding to a limited degree, so that she cannot be mind controlled and cannot send or receive and telepathic messages, or be detected by a psionics user. Stronger psionics attacks will still harm her.
Weapons/Equipment: Elynirus carries a protosteel dagger with a sheathe that she has a slight idea of how to use. She has no real training in anything other than the quarterstaff.
Bio: Elynirus’ early memories were from the Southern Islands, in a small Ba-Koro. Bitil, the local Makuta, went about a systematic execution of the village for being in the spot he wanted to make a new lab. Elynirus was one of the experiments. Her elemental nature was severed, and her body reshaped to be like that of a Toa. Toa power was drained from Bitils Hagah team and channeled into her. After numerous experiments, Bitil was able to make a replenishing source of Toa power. She was locked up in preparation for the creation of a new team of Toa of Shadow to serve the Brotherhood.
Elynirus went to a lot of trouble and released a lot of power in a brilliant display to break out. She eventually found herself in a small monastery, where she learned a small amount of martial training. Her impatience led her to skip over most of it. She eventually left and came across a small slave trading ring, the members of which she killed (having some bad memories of being captured) in order to help free the slaves.
She was eventually captured by the Shepherds of Flesh, and taken to the Island of Pain. She came to live in a small wooden hut where Toothy Bane bordered the Shadowtangle. After a time, she decided to travel north, and met up with those who would become the Wolves of Liberty. She became a member, but lost most of her memories due to a head injury inflicted by being slammed into a wall by Suicavel during his final battle against the Wolves.
Character Name: Sledge
Species: Toa
Gender: Male
Appearance: A grey armored, tall, wide Toa of Iron. He wears no mask.
Powers: Elemental Powers of Iron
Weapons/Equipment: Nil
Bio: Sledge was once a Fe-Matoran on Nynrah, who became very skilled at forging equipment, and also a great warrior. Because of this, he was also allowed to become a Toa. The Shepherds found him in this situation, and decided to poison him in his sleep and ship him to the Island of Pain. There, in the Ashring, Sledge was put to work at a makeshift forge, where he would quickly craft weaponry to be put into caches. With his powers, he had a steady supply of protosteel that he could use. Hew as under constant guard by Caretakers.
Sledge managed to escape, in time, but it wouldn’t last for long. The Shepherds noticed he was missing, and after the first few failed attempts to capture him by other slaves, they decided to send the entire Team Patronage. Sledge was captured and taken to somewhere beyond the Island of Pain for re-education.
Character Name: Suicavel
Species: Toa
Gender: Male
Appearance: Appears as a tall black toa with a mask shaped as a Rahkshi head. Has spikes all over his body. Also has blades that appear almost as wings (too small for use) and a pair of claw like blades able to come from the black. Has two leg like appendages sticking up on the back that he can twist down to act as a second pair of legs. Tubes send protodermis through his body. Can twist some back plating down and up, but this has no benefit, other than that it is more relaxing. Has clawed feet and hands. Two legs or four legs. He has two masks, one appearing a calix and the other an olmak, that are on his shoulders, grey because they have no wearer.
Powers: Has the power of shadow. Mask has the power of the Kanohi Avsa. Weakness to bright light, including the fake illumination of the dome; cannot use mask of elemental powers within, and begins to be damaged. Can use his shadow powers before to temporarily keep himself safe.
Weapons/Equipment: Wields a spear with a stone tip, jagged to make it more painful. He has two great masks, a Calix and a Crast, he keeps on his shoulder as trophies. In addition to this spear, he has a nicer spear with a glossy, black tip. He prefers his jagged spear nevertheless.
Bio: Suicavel was once a slum going matoran in Stelt, hating his life and all other life. A murderer, he was absolutely ruthless. Eventually, he managed to smuggle himself out of the city to a southern island, where he discovered a number of local toa in a cult like life, driven mad. Observing their actions, Suicavel discovered a way to trick the toa into placing all of their power into a stone, stating it was to honor their object of idolization. As the toa power of the six entered the stone, Suicavel stole the device, leaving the six now turaga alone.
The power released when Suicavel activated the stone was impossibly great, causing him to almost immediately be empowered. In the first few days, infused with his element of ice, he had the sheer power to take over a small village by himself. As his power waned to that of a normal toa, he was eventually cast out by the horde of angry matoran within a month.
Suicavel wandered the land, and was eventually captured by the Brotherhood for an experiment, due to the detection of the power still within him. He was used as an experiment to test out the powers of a shadow toa. That was when the changes took place on him physically, and his mind was twisted even farther. Infused with shadow, he broke out and began a rampage, hunting and killing across the universe, appearing occasionally in an outlying village and killing a large group of matoran, draining their life.
Suicavel also developed a weakness to sunlight, requiring the cloak of the night. When the Shepherds kidnapped him during an ambush they had planned for another, he quickly made for the Shadowtangle, coming out to haunt the Parched Wastes and Ashring, where multiple caves can be used to hide out. Suicavel does not desire to leave, as long as victims are in plentiful amounts.
He managed to bring down a short lived sky castle, irritate/kill about 23% of the island, and is in general a pain in the neck. Still, he is dangerous - very, very dangerous.
Suicavel was defeated as the first victim to the Wolves of Liberty. His mask was shattered in the process of the fight.
Character Name: Irriane
Species: Toa
Gender: Female
Appearance: Appears as a toa with orange and red armor. Has a white coat, the only thing the Shepherds didn't take besides her mask, which appears as a red Great Rau.
Powers: Possesses innate elemental powers of fire, and has years of training so that she can use it in pinpoint beams for cauterizing wounds. Mask is a Great Mask of Healing. Despite her problems, she can manipulate the mask as if she was far more strong in the will than she actually is.
Weapons/Equipment: None.
Bio: Irriane was originally a matoran on Metru-Nui, and attracted many quizical looks due to being a female matoran of fire, and even more so by her interests in what was done in Ga-Metru, where she became a healer. However, the size of the city eventually overwhelmed her, and she fled to the Southern Continent. She was captured by an interested slaver (not one of the shepherds) due to her training with healing, as the slaver thought she would be useful. She managed to escape from her master, however, after developing his trust for many years, and she stowed away in a caravan. She eventually enlisted into a small army on the Northern Continent (about 100 years after Levacius had "died" chronologically) where she served as a combat medic, not being afraid to rush into combat. She and two others eventually became toa, and she proved to be a skilled fighter as well. However, a run in with an evil toa using a mask with some form of mental degrading caused her to go in a coma for weeks. When she awoke, she was rather absent minded, and proved useless as a tactician. She was at that point left at the camp, no longer a combat medic. This ended up saving her life when an enemy army unleashed a creature resembling the Kanohi Dragon, and as the Dragon came for the camp, she had been made a fool to go off and retrieve a herb that was supposed to put her to sleep on contact. When she awoke from her sleep, she returned to the camp to find it destroyed, along with everybody else. She proved unable to fend well for herself, and she was captured by a Shepherd of Flesh. After proving far too annoying to be a useful slave, the Shepherds decided to remove the problem by dumping her on the Isle of Pain.
Over time her mental state has began to improve, and her combat skills have most certainly become better, though not as much as before. She is able to use her elemental powers with finesse once more, making her dangerous to deal with. However, she is still a little slow to realizations. Without a group behind her, shes likely to get killed by something, or someone.
Irriane was killed by Jontan.
