Yes!

YAAAY!!!     I came to school today, and I got to use the scanner!   I already posted the art... Now I just need to wait for the folder to become public.

Wildfire

I remember when it happened a few years ago; it was much closer to where I live. Fortunately, the fire department had the weather on their side. It's quite ironic: we have had cool weather for a while.

Why I Might Not Be At The Comic Con

Background Music: Creeping in My Soul   I've been meaning to write this for a while: I may not be going to the San Diego Comic-Con this year. It started after 2006 Christmas, when my parents bought candy lights and glitter-covered faux greenery.   Then we had to get a gingerbread house, leading to the other four reasons why I may not go: 30th Anniversary Christmas Sweet Shop Lego Ideation Station Ginny's Cookie Treats Poinsettia Palace Yes, we are starting a Department 56 village. When Dust Mites Attack!

GNG's parents have begun work on the kitchen so we can move.   This motivated GNG to drag that vacumm and Mr. Clean sponge into her room and start cleaning.   The dust mites didn't like it, so they bit GNG until the skin on her leg seemed afflicted w/ Chicken Pox.   GNG only finished the entryway, and there's plenty to do.   Then, GNG sat down to watch Aladin and Miss Potter and an episode of Psych.   GNG has never watched so much TV in one day.

Welcome To My Humble Blog!

Hello, I am Gali Nuva Girl. I would like to welcome everyone who reads this blog. Here I will chronicle my crazy life. I have been writing in journals since second grade, and I will continue writing on paper for those topics that may not be appropiate for the forums. Right now, it's late at night, but later I will write a novel about recent adventures!   ~ Gali Nuva Girl

Walkin' In A Winter Wonderland...

I went to Helen G MaCallum Assembly (#207 in Riverside) for their Installation. The theme was Winter Wonderland. I can't say much else, I forgot to get nicknames from the girls there.   Speaking of forgetting, I have forgotten to approve people's comments. They are now approved!   Life has been quite boring recently, mostly doing homework. Another weird dream of no importance.   I also have a Tracfone.   That's all the non-Bionicle stuff, for the biological chronicle will get it

Visitation From Planet New York

In the past weeks, I went to the go to Church Sunday with the Jobies. For this term, we went to the Covina Christian Church, and the theme was "The Lord is my Shepherd." Before the service started, I told the Choir Director that I was in Choir. She was very excited by the news, and went on and on about it to everyone... I didn't expect that, so I was humbled and embarrassed simultaneously   Then they went to the park to make sno-cones while my family and I went to Simi Valley to see my Great Un

Upland Christmas Parade; Christmas At Disneyland

Background Music: Music from "Mask of Light," recorded by SPIRIT.   I woke up at 8 am. After a rushed morning, where I finally made the CD and were later that my Mother Advisor would have liked, we arrived at our float: a highly decorated pickup truck and rented trailer. Then, I was disappointed. The three sisters -half of our group- suddenly decided not to come, after raising our hopes. With them gone, and another girl at ROTC, that left me, one girl, her brother, and several adults.   Despit

Updates, Plus The Fair.

Update 1: I found my mp3! I had merely forgotten where I last put it. Now I can focus on finding that jacket.   Update 2: I got my molding for the retainers on Monday -more icky paste, but this one didn't stick to my teeth like hard candy. I also got to choose the color of the plastic. (Transparent purple.)   The LA County Fair Every September, the fairplex near my high school is packed with rides, shops, and many locals and tourists. The Fair also has other permanent parts to it: The ri

Uhh... Oh, Yeah!

I went to a slumber party with several other Bethels last night, at a local Masonic Lodge. We mostly danced and played hide and seek. The former included several playings of "I write Sins not Tragedies" (which would be my backgound music, but my parents are watching TV). The latter became mundane during the third round, because the other girls were so clever for hiding places.   At one point, I showed another Jobie my still unfinished contest entry, and I was surprised by her reaction:     W

Two Servings, Homework, And One Exhausted Jobie

Imperial March (really soft, because my parents are watching "Heroes")   Serving #1 Here, four of us served the men and women at Covina Lodge (where we also had the sleepover). During the very casual event, a Demolay boy gave the flower talk, which discussed the importance of motherhood to young men. We received generous tips: a hundred dollars!   Serving #2 Now, three of us served a fundraiser for the San Dimas Temple Board. The event was very formal, they even hired a jazz band to play m

Tropical Heaven, Pt 2. (long)

A Tropical Heaven in 2007 The Convention & GNG as a "SUNsational Singer"   Grand Assembly is a convention for Rainbow Girls. In four days, you will meet other members, participate in contests (talent, arts, sewing, and Ritual -all for wich you sign up beforehand), and have a whole lot of fun at the same time. If you want to take on more of a responsibility, you can sign up for Grand Page, Grand Observer Helper, or Grand Chior. Grand Officers are appointed, and are known for their mascots. F

Today: Follow Up

(No background music because my parents are watching "24")   We got Toot's! Right after I wrote the last entry and the server went busy a knock-knock on the door and Dad signed the form for receiving a huge box. When Mom came home, we opened the box and lit it up. As an added surprise, the smaller train revolves around the smokestack on the building.

Tip For Life #2...

...Never ride to Holcom Valley Scout Camp while conscious.  We had to go to Big Bear in the Mountains to return Archery equipment. The trip took the whole day, as follows:   10:30 am ~ We leave from home   11 ~ "Mom, we've been on the road for a half hour, and those mountains don't look any closer" -TOV   As we traveled up the mountains, we saw perfectly white patches of snow. For a suburban girl who lives WAY below the snow line, it's the most amazing sight. We also drove past a lake, also

Tip For Life #1 And "macbeth"

Tip For Life #1: Always pack your backback the night before you go to school. I didn't heed this suggestion, and I forgot to do high-priority items this morning.   As I turned in completed work, I learned that I now have two projects for Macbeth: "Read aloud to your teacher some of the pasages in the play which seem most significant to you. "Design three costumes appropriate for either the hero or heroine of this video. Indicate the scenes in which the costumes would be worn." What they mean by

The Shadow Falls?

Under any other circumstance, I would have excitedly described my family's day trip to the L.A. County Fair by now, along with my birthday plans. I'd explain that my birthday means so many things, like the beginning of the great holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas... Yet not this year. With the anniversary of September Eleventh, and the Bionicle story depicting Mata Nui's Death and subsequent tragedies, September 2007 is indeed grim.   But I think it's also for another reason: I ha

Taboo And Other Stories

I know I haven't been online recently. Everything has been piling up, including Rainbow and Jobies and getting used to another website that I joined, which has a forum. It is completely different from BZPower, though not a replacement. I have been also been on my toes to finish my homework so I can graduate.   The worst blow was when I got sick this week. As I write, I know I'm only able to function because of all the medications I am taking. I really don't want to be sick, because I got sick i

Summer Days, Drifting Away...

The Day After Scandia, we went to Disneyland. There, we went on the usual favorites; went on Space Mt. which had miraculously short line; and, through very lucky timing, saw the parade and the fireworks. Our last ride was Haunted Mansion, which received interesting and errie new effects -new since last winter.   We Also saw Harry Potter 5. I loved the performances for Luna Lovegood and Dolores Umbridge, as the actresses portrayed their character perfectly. But then, the entire cast has been exc

Start A Bolg, Lose A Journal (or) Pointsettias

Background music: "Christmas Moods" (CD, 1998)   My specialist's office called and told me that I do not have an infection. I'm not sick, this is part of a life long medical issue. I was going to note it in my journal, but it has vanished! I'm not worried, it'll turn up eventually.   Anyway, the Christmas season is arriving! Here, it isn't heralded by 90% off sales at the mall or the fact that Thanksgiving is over.   The Pointsettias are here.   Every year, the Boy Scout Troop that my Dad

Mood: Dazed   My goodness! I feel like I've been out doing stuff for months in the past two weeks!   I took my placement test for college, and the results are... Reading Comprehension: 107.9. I have met the graduation requirement! Sentence Skills: 107.5. Elementary Algebra: 110! I've also met the Math Competency Requirement for Associate Degree! College Level Math: 61.6. Oddly enough, the results say that I can take plane trig, and I haven’t taken geometry yet.

Scandia With Rainbow

Unfortunately, this event became the second worst event I've attended in Rainbow. But I didn't know that when I arrived at its gate. Rather, the early half was fun; but after ROTC girl suffered while on Thor's Hammer (which went upside-down twelve times!), things slowly started to go downhill. The worst moments happened on the last ride, the go-carts. I've never drived such a Mata Nui-Forsaken contraption before, and the way the employees handled the situation was terrible. I was disappointed th

Running On Adrenaline

Rainbow We had a party with the Demolay at an Eastern Star lady's house. We walked to the highly decorated homes on Throughbred Lane, and it is only on the pavement when you realize, this is a carnival! It's crowded enough, and home owners sell hot chocolate and churros on the sidewalk. When we return to the hostess' house, we ate cookies and watched "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" on TV.   Early the next morning, we volunteered at Rising Stars: a horse riding program for disabled children

Planning

Between homework, I've been creating plans for when I'm Honored Queen. My term includes Grand Bethel -the state convention. Out of all the events in Job's Daughters, this is the largest and most expensive, because the Bethel has to pay for hotel, transportation, and for at least one out of four day's worth of meals. Another expense (and a tradition) are the look-alikes that each Bethel wears on Friday.   Today, I was working on the look-alikes for Grand Bethel for during my term. My current ide
