  1. I like that the gender restriction is no longer there, and so for me, thinking of the Protector of Water as a male isn't that difficult, although I seem to think of the PoW as a female. In my mind, I lean towards PoE and PoJ being female as well, more so for J than E. It's fun to play around with the ideas in my head, and see what everyone else has to say here, I think. I've tried imagining the PoI as a female.. possibly wearing a heavy coat, like Kopaka's golden pelt, but white, obviously.. Hmm. I kind of hope it will be revealed in time, and I very much hope they mix it up a little.
  2. Thanks for the help, all I am currently in the process of figuring out a way to make sturdy but adjustable arms for the pincers. I'm pretty sure they'll be mostly Technic pieces. When I have the means, I intend to purchase some more dark red shells off something like Bricklink(?), but for the moment, all I've got are the two rocky dark red add-on parts and the torso piece of the same color, used on the crab's underside. In retrospect, I can probably relocate that elsewhere on its body and use a black shell down there instead. I appreciate the feedback, thank you so much
  3. Thank you both, the problem's been rectified (I hope), Please let me know what you think! I really hate my tablet right now, haha! -Lightninging63
  4. When I heard that there was to be a contest where we could build old characters from the G1 Bionicle universe in the new style, I was very excited, and hoped to enter an entry myself! However, I found I couldn't find all the pieces I needed in time. Ah well. I'm still missing one or two pieces I need to make it complete in my eyes, but for the moment, it's 'finished' enough to share here. I decided to go for either a version of Hakann using the HF Brain Attack 'Pyrox' set's face part, and build a custom spine, or do the Hannah Crab and Jaller, but since I was unable to find the right parts to create a full Jaller figure, I decided to simply mod the Protector of Fire, and go all-out on re-creating the crab. It ended up being a lot larger than I had anticipated, seeing as I wanted to incorporate the U-shaped armor part from the original set, to keep the same feel. Got it to fit on to the smallest CCBS torso bone with the use of those 'hip/shoulder' socket pieces and some red 2-length axels. Worked out rather well in my opinion. I couldn't find the other Pyrox rocky-add-on part for armor on the back legs, so I've used a 'Breakout' round add-on armor part as a substitute for the time being. The stud shooter retains the same color bullets as came with the Protector of Fire because I was unable to find enough solid red or trans blue studs to replace them. The gun also fills out the top of the build nicely, and doesn't leave many gaps visible. Because of its size, I thought it'd be nice to imagine it as a Ussal Crab, like Pewku, but in the same colors as the Hannah Crab. Perhaps this crab would be a dweller of the Fire Region, getting constant energy off of the heat generated by the volcano and its lava flows, and perhaps the rocky armor would in fact be layers upon layers of hardened magma on top of a fireproof crab shell, making it the perfect vehicle to travel across the hottest pats of the region. I've been unable to add a photo properly to the post for some reason. It doesn't want to cooperate with my tablet, so for now, here's a link - EDIT: trying now with laptop to upload photo. This is ridiculous. Problem hopefully fixed, please let me know what you think!! If I need to find another photo-sharing site, please let me know, but for now, enjoy. Any comments and criticisms are welcome, and I'll try and upload more photos when I get the chance. -Lightninging63
  5. How do we know for certain that it is the MOUP? I still like the mask, but I think I'd like to procure the.. Skull Basher? The purple one with the horns. I like that one, and its super-hug-function. Crush function. Whatever I like Grinder, and I wouldn't mind having Ekimu or that wonderful Mask of Creation on display, but I dislike Grinder's color scheme. At least, as I've seen it at present. That's totally subject to change, though.
  6. I'm going to do my best to keep cool and not get too excited. That's going to be tough, considering, well.. just look at these! I love each and every one of your 2015 mask repaints, especially Tahu's mask with that lovely golden glow- makes the Mask of Fire look like it's actually warm, charged with its element- and that purple Mask of Stone. Seriously. That is the most vibrant and eye-catching color scheme of all of the masks currently assembled. I want that mask. The yellow Mask of Earth reminds me a little of a certain Onu-Matoran who created the Boxor vehicles, and that black-and-red Skull Spider looks especially wicked. The way the red is around the eyes looks like war paint to me. I kind of like it. I dig the rust on the Onewa-Metru mask. Can't remember the mask-title, but oh well! The aged-copper look of the Mask of Light is nifty too. The first one, anyway. I like those extra scratches up top-how'd you do that? I think the Mask of Time is my favorite of the 'classic' mask lot. It just has that special something, you know? I'm excited to see more from ya. I always like marveling at your creations
  7. So, this is quite possibly the most awesome remake of the pair I've ever seen. Nivawk is perfect. You've nailed the shape of his head, his body, his wings.. perfectly I like the Hero-Factory "Invasion From Below" head as the back of Nivawk's, and how you've managed to position the eyes just-right. And the wings! I'm thrilled they keep their function and look right. Far more true to what we saw in "Legends of Metru Nui", that's for sure. Dume's looking pretty good himself! I like his sort of rounded body, what with that red shell at the bottom. With his staff, he kind of reminds me of a cartoonish duke, or the really short, fat king in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" (that's the only one I could compare it to xD ), and I like it! It suits Dume. The fact that you've managed to incorporate the gearbox makes him all the more better. Oh, and I dig that custom head. Both look amazing, really! I really hope this goes far in the contest, it deserves to at least make it to the finals for being such an accurate representation of the pair! (I can't seem to find the thumbs-up icon, so here's a smiley :-) )
  8. Nice job, Toa_of_Flame! I like the use of the bright red feet, and the tubing 'round the neck. The Paw part for the chest works very well I think. Is there room for an armor shell on the back? Without one, the lower back looks a bit too thin and bony. Best of luck in the competition mate
  9. Nearly done with mine. I like the entries so far, I'm not sure how mine will fare alongside them, but I'm hoping people like it. I don't have nearly enough of the right color parts to create Jaller, so for this, he'll be a Matoran/Whatever you call Okoto villagers. Okotans?
  10. That set of teeth looks amazing. I really want to know how you managed to pull that off. I like the Chima torso-armor being used here. The red ball gives me the impression that he has a very large heartlight. I like how you've done up his spine, and the staff, but I do feel that the hood is a little wild, and it makes it hard to see the head build beyond that vicious maw. But then again, this IS Vezon we're talking about here. Wild is average for him Best of luck in the competition mate. Sure hope this one goes far.
  11. Well done! You've managed to nail the styling of the original Visorak body with the new pieces. That foot in the face is quite versatile. I mean, it's a foot, and it's basically the whole front of the head! Really like that, and the extra 'pincers' added in make it feel more spider-like (That, and in the third Bionicle movie installment, they had those extra pincers.. it's kind of bonus-points for me). I'll admit that the rear legs don't seem long enough from where I'm sitting, but otherwise, this is a fantastic recreation of the spider species into the new styling. And, best of all, you've gotten the spinner to work. That to me is probably the best thing of all! Best of luck in the contest, mate!
  12. I really enjoy the organic, insect-like vibe it's giving off, what with those leaf/egg pieces on the head and hand-claw-shields. I like that they're actual claws as opposed to just flat shields, helps with the whole organic thing. I like that you've kept it squat like the original Bohrok, and the purple is kind of neat too, though I do feel it's a little subdued under the black and azure. I also feel that perhaps the smaller toed-feet would have worked better here(the Bohrok did have pretty small feet after all), but perhaps that's just personal preference. WIsh you the best in the contest! Ha, rhymes.
  13. Kopaka's blades as Krika's front legs- genius! I really like this re-imagining of the character. It's packed full of creativity, and I really enjoy how much more animalistic it looks compared to the original. That claw-blaster on the back looks awesome, by the way. Best of luck in the competition!
  14. The entries look good so far, hopefully (with the cooperation of my tablet and perhaps Photobucket), mine will too I wonder if anyone will try creating their own version of Hakann (assuming I've spelled the red Piraka's name right)? Best of luck to all, again!
  15. It may not be as obvious at first, but I can see a little of the old Makuta shining through. As mentioned before, those shovel-hands and staff work in helping us recognize the old Master of Shadows, as does the purple. I like the bulk of it, especially around the torso and upper legs, and I like how creatively put-together the feet look. I feel as if the hands on the feet give him a look like as if he has toes, and considering how many of the beings in the new series do, it helps him fit in more. I suppose the amount of silver is not easily avoidable, but I'm so used to seeing the old Makuta with subdued colors, black and 'gunmetal', but considering you did only use three sets to put this guy together(impressive, by the way), it looks just fine the way it is. I'd love to see this Terry' in Tahu's new mask. Remember when Makuta was in Matoran-form, proclaiming himself undefeatable because he was 'nothing'? It'd be a fun throwback, but the Skull Spider works just as well, and gives Teridax here the creepy vibe he so well deserves. Wish you luck in the competition!
  16. I enjoy how you've gone about doing this. It's got new elements, so you know it's meant to be of the G2 era, but there's distinct features mixed in, so you know for sure it's meant to be that character. Such distinct features I've noticed are the upper-right (our left when viewing) arm, which was part of the moving-gear thing on the Hordika, right? Lower arm, true, but it serves its purpose here, and looks rather nice with the trans-light-blue and the white fur/spike armor piece. I like that you've replaced the old blade with one of Gelu's (?). Even if it can't fold the same way, it looks much tougher than the original blade, and a little sleeker too! I enjoy the method you've incorporated the 'Rhotuka' in to the mix, and the custom-built torso. I suppose, really, my only complaints would be that the torso is a bit thin compared to the rest of the body, and that in turn makes Nuju's head look ginormous. But, the color scheme is consistent, and the character you were going for is undeniable- this is Nuju. Wish you luck in the competition!
  17. To me, the shape looks just enough like a Visorak to where I can tell it apart from another quadruped, but I do agree with the others when saying that it's a bit.. plain. I feel that pincers could have been implemented with only a few parts. The Waspix ball-connector on the bottom of the build, plus the second shortest bones, plus the hip/shoulder/whatever those square-ish pieces are called (ball-socket?), and two blades of your choice. At least that's how I would go about it. I feel the signature Rhotuka is needed in some form here too. I imagine it wouldn't fit on the piece you used for the back, but perhaps another shooter, or even just a rounded armor add-on (see Breeze's Breakout Form or Black Phantom/Toxic Reaps's shoulders) could do the trick, represent the shape needed? Despite all this, it is nice to see a non-hero character enter the contest, and I do wish you the best of luck.
  18. Bionicle's back and so am I!!

  19. I've not entered into a contest like this before, but with the rebirth of Bionicle, I think I'm going to give it a try. Remembering a torso I created for a character, might come in handy... So I'm clear, it can be any official character from G1, right? Not just one that has existed in set/combo-model form, like Lariska, or Helryx?
  20. I'd like to see Breez get her own special XL form, but Bulk is a must. You know that piece included with Stormer's Freeze Machine that had the two flick-fire missiles? Armor Bulk up round the torso, and add a bunch of those flick-fire missiles into the cladding-holes, on the shoulders, around the rib cage perhaps? Possibly give him a big gun or another drill which can double as a shoulder-mounted weapon with laser-targeting.. and silver. Give him some more of that silver we all love about Bulk. Wouldn't mind Surge getting an XL form either, or at least a better battle machine. I could easily imagine a bright white and orange machine for Nex, though for an XL.. I think Nex is more of a behind the scenes guy. He tinkers with tech, and invents/provides upgrades for his team, but in the field, unless he was decked out in tech.. I personally can't see him properly as an XL. I wonder- if we got any new (Official) Hero Characters added to the story, would they receive an XL or would an older character be given the treatment first?
  21. I just had this image of a villain, say Xplode, walking into the cafe with a fake mustache and a paper plate with a Hero-Factory 'H' taped to his chest, over to the counter (I presume this place has a little bar with stools where you can go get a slice of pie or something), and orders 'Quaza Lite', at which point all the Heroes point their weapons, gadgets, everything at him. He just sit there, and then adds in a feeble voice ".. to go?" So that's my imagination at work. Would this place be just for Heroes and 'civilians', or would it be a neutral zone for villains possibly as well? Unless, of course, they have their own 'Villain Pub'. Also, if this place serves pie, I want it.
  22. Not sure why, but the way the green and silver are together reminds me of "Speeda Demon". I like the build, I like the blades, especially how they're mounted on the wrist-armors, and I like the way they're stored. I will say that for a 'Rocka' build, the gold is a little under-whelming. I know you're only working with the two set's parts, but the guy needs more Rocka in him than Breez, you know? I can see this more being its own Hero-character than being another incarnation of Rocka.. Actually, in my mind, I much prefer that idea..! Nice work!
  23. Double the drills, double the fun Nah but seriously, this is one good looking guy. Or girl. Mechanical organism. That works. It's a powerful looking biped. Upper body is looks very.. round. I like the use of the HF Multi-Tool Ice Shields and that one white part between them that was used for Certavus' helmet. That one part works very well as the abdomen, makes a smooth transition to the waist, and the green grill part keeps it looking mechanical. I rather like that.I really do like the color scheme, though the blue being in the eyes and only in the eyes does kind of throw me off. It's a nice color, but I feel there should be more of it on the body somewhere. Or maybe the eyes should be changed to lime?If it was a HF character I'd get it- in the show, all their eyes are blue. I also like that it has hands- at least, hands in the classic Bionicle sense, before the Glatorian. Having drills for hands all the time might be tedious, unless it was only active for mining jobs, and kept in 'hibernation' between jobs.Having drills, or guns, for hands all the time could get to the poor thing. I'm thinking "Ambidextrous" from a Bionicle/HF thing I saw on a video-watching site(which I guess is censored here?). Poor guy..Overall, I really like the way it looks. Nicely done!
  24. Thanks.Sadly it is dismantled, but I did try to build on the torso more. The 'beak' was meant to be a carrot nose, people keeps saying it looks like a penguin head :PGlad you like it.
  25. Another Hero-Factory action-figure-building-system-based MOC. Tried to build a bad guy like a snowman not too long ago. Dubbed him 'Iceman' and made up a backstory. Seeing as it is kind of Winter right now, here he is for all to see. With a scarf and Ax, apparently Rarrrgh Attack!(and look totally awesome while doing so) Enjoy! -Cirkit
