  1. *cups hands around mouth, inhales deeply*

    neeeeeeeeerds

Really though this is fun to read.

Backeth from where thoust came from, vile beast! Thou doth not know the attachment us fellows have to these characters!

...... Or in other words, debating over which fictional character trumps another one is a thing and is used as a way to prove our knowledge and dedication to a certain work of fiction, because we're proud of being nerds!

Anyways, I'm unsure of how much sand, earth, or metal will be in whatever arena Toph and Gaara end up in, but I have a feeling Gaara will have to make most of his ammo. Remember the rules for Death Battle? No planning or preparation by either character.

And gold probably does count as a form of metal.... But I'm unsure of whether Toph could bend it. See, metalbending in the Avatar universe works by detecting the impurities in metal and bending THOSE. Purified metals like platinum can't be touched by earthbenders....

Also, another reason why Toph should win, I only need to say two words.

    MELON LORD, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    (okay I lied, three words)

  2. First things first, if the battle features Shukaku vs. Metal Kaiju armor, that would be FREAKING HARDCORE and have all of my yes.

Anyways, this battle I think will become a tug of war over the elements soon. Yes, Gaara can use his sand to crush earth into more sand.... But so too can Toph compress sand into earth. Therefore, things cancel each other out..... Not to mention if Toph is still able to bend Gaara's sand, she might not even have to do that.

Gaara doesn't even need to be using a sand platform for Toph to see him midair. That gourd carrying his sand with his mother's soul? Preeeeeeeetty sure Toph could see that, if Gaara decided to start jumping all over the place for some reason.

And since I don't think Gaara can crush metal into sand (I wouldn't know how he could anyways), Toph still holds that advantage. If it was metalbending that gives her victory, I wouldn't be that surprised.

Go Toph! I believe in youuuuuuuuuu~

All we need now is Ringabel

I disagree we don't really need Ringabel

But then the whole original cast shows up and things come full circle!

Also.... Actually taking a look at the picture..... I-I think I'm dying from just how much cuter Edea is now.... And so much cooler too! I don't know how they did it, but they made Edea MORE of my favorite character than she already was.

  4. Now who said anything about the mecha being hulking? =P Again, I don't remember Bedman's vehicle being massive, I mean, it's technically larger than most fighters but a competent opponent could go toe-to-toe with it still. Not to mention, having things like an open cockpit (or none at all) also help with the whole 'still beatable' thing.

Basically, the device wouldn't be superior to other opponents.... It'd just be the character who's inferior to the rest on his own and needs a small mech to even out the odds and channel his powers. =P

  5. Physical attacks could still have some merit to being used, you could bait someone to leap and avoid your attack, then activate the attack echo to replicate an previous attack that reached upwards, though I do agree standard punches and such would have little use.

So I'm trying to come up with a power that would be dream-like and effective at the same time that also synergizes with the attack echo concept. Best thing I can come up with is a object-spawning power, how would that work?

Also, would a mech like the one Bedman uses be acceptable if the person piloting it wasn't powerful enough to fight without it? As in, barely able to scratch the average Toa otherwise? I could make it not bed-shaped, but I've never used a character that doesn't use hand to hand combat and I wanna try something different for this game...

  6. I don't know about you, but while the name Bedman is silly, the way he fights actually could be interesting. Like, yeah, he fights using a bed, but it's a bed with spiky wheels and all manners of gadgets to fight people with. =P And the concept of sending out an attack, and leave behind a mark that lets you spawn an echo of that attack is also pretty cool.

Certainly better than using a pillow as a weapon, that's for sure. =P

  7. Can I say I'm still a bit annoyed at the players in the Discussion Topic?

Some of them have good points but most of their arguments boil down to the belief that action is only tasteless fluff with no substance. A stance I disagree with vehemently.

(also, trying to figure out what to make the character, but I'm seriously considering making them similar to Bedman from Guilty Gear Xrd is this a good idea y/n? =P)

  8.

Raiden wearing a sombrero and hiding under a box with the hat clipping through the box. There's your context.

the best part is that it isn't clipping

    oh, I see...........

In that case, just a sombrero wearing cardboard hat, nothing to worry about here.....
