  1. @Burnmad: It's fine. That was a knee-jerk response due to still being rather jittery about the whole experience. I'm glad we're on the same level, and no, we don't have all the details yet.

@Lyichir: No, actually. California. I'm still in high school...

@Everyone else: Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone out there! The fact anyone has to go through this stuff is just sad.....

  2. Are you sure it wasn't because

    Someone got on the roof

    *Snaps fingers*

Not cool, Burnmad. Try making that joke when there's the very real possibility of an armed person who is perfectly willing to gun down everyone in sight is possibly at or coming to your school and has no rational thought, and you're huddled in a classroom trying to look inconspicuous.

I got pretty shaken up, even though everything was fine.

  3. Oh, maybe I should clarify this character isn't cruel/sadistic/sociopathic. In fact, he'll try to do what he thinks is right in most situations. It's his attitude that would lead to him being both easily likeable and despisable. =P And perhaps the sarcasm could be somewhat of a coping mechanism to keep his cool during hard times, but I'll leave that one up to you. =P

So which role would this guy work best for then?

  4. If he is removed in a patch I will love Nintendo forever. It sadly won't happen, though :/

    /calls Jigglypuff a he

/alts include hats from the female Pokemon protagonists

There are a multitude of reasons why Jigglypuff made it in and has stayed a mainstay of the series. She got in for being the second most popular Pokemon in Japan during the anime's beginning AND being Sakurai's favorite Pokemon overall. She has stayed in by being one of the Original Twelve. Xaeraz is correct, remove ANY character from the Original Twelve and you have committed a cardinal sin.

Jigglypuff's at least fun to mess around with and makes for a trollish character to use, so I don't mind. =P

  5. Ohwait I remember this

Yes. I would be interested in playing reviewer if it means another story. Preferably involving me. =P But another person would be fine too~

Speaking of, didja ever manage to think of something where I could be shoved into the story? If so, I'm stepping waaaaaay beyond the realm of plausibility and want a bad(bleeeeeep) energy saber shaped like a katana (aka the Z-Saber!), and some kind of ninja headband. Basically, I'd wanna be awesome. =P

  6. I'd take a hundred clones if it meant we could get a story mode.

That's another can of worms entirely, but essentially there's no story mode because making custscenes are expensive and time consuming, and anyone who cares about the story could just look up videos on Youtube and you know, not have to purchase the game. So it's just more efficient to focus on balancing the game and such.

This is like a free dessert after a luxurious meal that was prepared free of charge.

    Free of charge for $39.99?

Anyway, I couldn't care less about the presence of clones, my main complaint is that the good-bad ratio is the same 1:2 for newcomer clones as it is for full newcomers.

And another thing: They really couldn't have used the resources that went into making clones to at least de-clone Ganondorf?

    - :burnmad:

Well, the game is the main course. That costs $39.99. The clones are the extra dessert, as the player doesn't have to pay extra to cover their cost.

Explain what this ratio is? I'm not sure I understand your point there.

*sighs* Decloning Ganondorf is the same thing as making a new character. I figured that would be obvious. The only thing they could retain would be the model.

I'd like to point out cutting out all the clones wouldn't have led to more development time for other characters. You know how Melee had six clones? Sakurai said that in the time it took to develop all of them, they could have made ONE more unique character, aka Dedede, whom they already had a basic model and plan for. Now take into account that all the Melee clones had unique models developed at the last second, while the models for Lucina, Dark Pit, and Dr. Mario already existed due to them originally being costumes.

Either way, the clones did no harm, and nothing suffered because of their inclusion.

  7. Dark Pit has been stated by Sakurai in an article for Famitsu to be his own character because it would have been impossible to give him his own unique Final Smash and Side B otherwise. Dr. Mario is just there to keep his Melee fans satisfied.

All of the moveset clones in SSB4 were originally costumes, but being short on development time and other factors are what contributed to their getting a slot on the roster. It's perfectly clear that they didn't 'steal' anyone's roster slot though, clones are only added when the 'main' roster gets finalized and the dev team can mess around with extras.

Sorry, I tend to get rather annoyed when the whole clone thing gets brought up..... I'll actually talk about this character now.

While I THOUGHT I would hate their inclusion, they're actually quite the breath of fresh air for the franchise.... While I don't like how oversaturated the roster is with characters from their series, they are unique enough that I'll accept the inclusion.

(Mega Man is still best newcomer tho)

  8. Pit's old moveset? You mean the one with "HI YI YI YI YI YI YI YI YAAAAAA!"?

Yeah, no thanks. I'll take the Electroshock Arm over that any day.

But besides that.... I'm actually entirely okay with Dark Pit being in the game. I really enjoyed his character from Uprising, and that really comes in through his taunts, which are 100x better than Pit's. And yeah, those extremely subtle differences DO make him a better up close fighter, which I honestly love. He's one of my mains now, over Pit prime really.

Not only that, but he's my avatar for all things Smash 4 now. Online icon is Dark Pit, Street Smash chip is Dark Pit, main fighter used online is Dark Pit.... Yeah, you get the point.

  9. I'll be the narcissist here and admit the only three Mii Fighters I have are all based on myself. =P Yep, one for each class. =P

First up we've got a Brawler wearing the Protective Gear (I really want that Karate Outfit though) and a Ninja Headband. Specials are Ultimate Uppercut, Onslaught, Helicopter Kick, and Feint Jump.

And then there's the Swordfighter with a Ninja Outfit and Ninja Headband. Specials include Shuriken of Light, Airborne Assault, Skyward Slash Dash, and Blade Counter.

My personal favorite is the Gunner, with Dragon Armor and a Ninja Headband (why yes, I really like that thing). Specials are Charge Blast, Gunner Missile, Lunar Launch, and Bomb Drop.

So yeah, playing as myself in Smash is awesome. =P

  10. I prefer faster characters myself, but my surprise for this game is that I have FUN with the projectile users! My current line-up of mains is Mega Man, Little Mac, and Robin.... Secondaries are Mii Gunner and Dark Pit.  Mii Fighters cause I can only play with friends online or locally, and Dark Pit because I enjoyed his character in KI:U and it makes for great trolling. =P
