  1. Scroll down for the latest... 30.01.2010 I came up with this 13-sided shape today. It's very strong; when it's complete, you'll be able to throw it around and not have it bend out of shape at all. I'm picturing a purple-and-black flying saucer. 01.02.2010 18.02.2010 I've already spent a small fortune (in relative terms) on parts for this. As you can see, more parts are still needed. Why the investment of money into a project like this? There is obviously some deep significance to this creation in the mind of its creator. To elaborate upon the whys and wherefores at this juncture, however, would be premature. All will be revealed in due time. 22.02.2011 Oh look, so much progress! In just one year!

    Beardlyness

Looks good! Trimmer would probably be the most convenient tool. I used little scissors, though, in my bearded times -- not fond of extra little appliances.

    Precisely 1080p

Those who already get it, get it; those who don't, probably won't even read it. Do I care? Depends what you mean by "care." But straight up? No, I don't. A. It's kids playing with toys, and B. you can't change people and it's hopeless to try. So... accept it, care not, move on. That said, Jen's rant did spark something on this end of things. A long-neglected "feminine" MOC-in-progress was dusted off and looked over with a critical eye. The age-old issue in question is a non-issue in this case, but oh my goddess, what flaws I did espy! Am I really that clueless about basic humanoid proportions, or have I just been too lazy to try? Guh. Well, it's back to the drawing board. Just like always, I build it and take it apart, build it and take it apart, until I pronounce the work finished to the best of my ability. Here, have a look: (I don't own a TV; I scavenged the box from the trash last week, for painting on. Makes a nice backdrop for Gali in the meantime. Yeah, it's Full HD, ten-eighty-P. Except it's not; it's just a picture of a picture. So what you see is a picture of a picture of a picture... of a picture? Hmm.) In other bricking news, the flying saucer pod MOC is almost done, pending a couple of parts orders I just made today. So pretty soon I might be paying your town a visit in my SHINY PURPLE SAUCER POD. Yeah. Forget wheels, anti-gravity is where it's at! See you soon! Be good!
  4. Doesn't matter how many ways you say it, it'll still be as true and go out to as deaf a crowd. x) Your post did get me to take a look at my long-neglected Gali Titan WIP... The chest thing isn't so bad, but there are some serious proportion problems otherwise. Guh. Lower legs particularly, those'll have to be reworked from the ground up. Again. But hey, thanks for the impetus for progress!

    Hf 3.0

As a stand-alone product range, the new HF would make for stultifyingly dull MOCing. But in seamless concert with past incarnations and the more traditional brick? Mmmmmm... I like what I see in the eye of my mind. I like it, I like it a lot.

Those are good goals. And the best thing is, they're not fixed or finite. They allow for all possibilities and form a continual process.

    Masculinism

I AM A MAN. I SPEAK FOR ALL MEN EVERYWHERE. MEN'S RIGHTS UNFAIR MEDIA PORTRAYAL OF MEN FEMINIZATION OF BOYS RADICAL FEMINIST AGENDA BLAH BLAH BLAH. Yeeeeaaaah. No. Translation: I refuse to face my own psychological issues directly. I prefer to project them onto other people to avoid the objective truth of things as they are because that would threaten the beliefs and values in which I have invested my entire sense of identity. Therefore I am compelled to keep up a stream of convoluted thought patterns and seek out like minds and opponents to feed my adversarial worldview and my perpetual need to define myself as the noble crusader when the fact of the matter is we are all just flawed human beings in a challenging world doing the best we know how. EDIT: Holy carp. I think I described myself right there and proved my own point by example in the process.

I want to see someone build Master Chief. Or Richard B. Riddick. NO WAIT. THE BATMAN. B)
  12. Borrow a decent camera from someone else and do a marathon photo shoot. That's what I did for BBCC55. And won.
  13. You're not talking to me specifically, are you? I know you're not, but it feels like it. Yeah, definitely. Whew.

    My Year

It's a good reason--of course, I'll get the tattoo(s) in logical places so when I do have ugly wrinkly skin, they won't show. No way am I going to show my whole arm and legs when I get like that, if you follow me. I am incredibly sensitive, so I'm slightly mad in wanting one...so we'll see how that will work out. Madness? THIS... IS... SUE!!! All the best in the new year. Those are some excellent goals and I know you can achieve them! The health, tattoo, and getting out more are items that I also share on my mental list of goals. THIS IS IT. It's the year we claim our lives back and start living the way we've always wished to. With Oomph! and Yeah! We are the ones we've been waiting for! YEAH! *fists in the air!*

    Meeting People

You'd have to be either very brave or have a super-evolved sense of humour to want to do that. Oh man, where do I sign up?
  17. Oh, you guys. It's perfectly logical.

    Song Of The Day 75

Nice. Fits well with my recent mood.
  21. We don't always get what we think we want, but in my experience we do get exactly what we need and what's best for us in the end. It's good to have desires and to pursue them, but it's also advisable to do so with the attitude that it's all ultimately in far wiser, more capable hands than ours. In my humble opinion. And so we accept pleasure and pain, success and failure, as they come, and learn to let go of what's not so important in favour of what is. Maybe. It would be really nice if those things came true for you. I would cheer.
