  1. I have a weakness for Grass-type starters. Seriously, if it weren't for the fact that Venusaur looks hideous in Generation III, I would have picked Bulbasaur for my FR playthrough. (Though maybe that's a good thing; now I can pretend that FR/LG would have been fun for me to play if only I had picked bulbasaur and played on LeafGreen...) Every other Pokemon game I've played, I've picked the Grass-type; Turtwig, Treecko, and when I get to HeartGold I'll probably pick Chikorita (though Cyndaquil is oddly tempting as well). If/when I ever get to White and/or White 2, I'll likely pick Snivy, though Oshawott is, like Cyndaquil, oddly alluring.
  2. I'm tempted to just go Creative, but then I remember how bored I'd get if I did that. Having to work somewhat for my items keeps me interested and playing.Although, building stuff out of Totems of Dawn IS a lot of fun, for some odd reason.
  3. So I've come to the conclusion that everyone on Minecraft forum sites are either total "meanies" or else bullied into silence. Either way, no-one is willing to help me with anything. I'm so proud of everyone here for their encouragement, friendliness, and generosity with advice and opinions. I don't think you guys appreciate how rare people like you are. EDIT: Wow, did NOT expect that word to get filtered... O_o
  4. Between this, the Gravity Greaves bug, and the lag spikes I get around Mo' Creatures mobs, I get the impression that Mo' Creatures is kind of unstable... :-/
  5. I recently built four stacks of Totems of Dawn for nullifying Eldritch monoliths. So long as the monolith is at least two chunks away from any other major sources of Taint, a half-stack per chunk or so is enough to TOTALLY overkill-nullify it.I have four stacks because I've discovered I really like building things out of totems of dawn.
  6. Man, does anyone wish that Bis storage tanks didn't hace Taint suction, or that the Taint suction of the Bis purifiers was around 15 or so? >_<Also, the key to the left of my B key is broken, thus why I'm replacing that letter with B.
  7. Hey can the rest of the people here try to recreate an error I'm getting with the Technic Pack? You see, the Gravity Greaves are severely bugged. For one thing, both the red matter greaves AND the gravity greves appear as boots, with the "legs" part of the texture being mapped onto the player torso texture. For another, oftentimes when the Gravity Greaves' special ability (the one activated with Shift) is used, Minecraft will suddenly freeze and crash. Via process of testing I've concluded that the problem is most likely the result of an unexpected interaction with the MoCreatures moderator, but I was in a Taint (Thaumcraft 2) biome, so there is some possibility of an unexpected cross-interaction there as well. Could the rest of you try and replicate this, with different circumstances and the like? So far, I've successfully pushed Tainted Creepers, Tainted Sheep, and normal pigs and sheep with no problem, but the moment I hit a horse or a MoCreatures sea creature, Minecraft froze and crashed.
  8. Who cares about NEDING the functional elements--they're there to show off your skills at building. I didn't NEED a EMC flower in my spell room (it's actually kind of a pain to harvest), but I did it because it was pretty AND fiunctional.
  9. Temple of Arcane Magicks? I can picture a great spire in the center, connected to a hexagonal "web" of six slightly smaller towers, each of which is themed to a particular type of Vis Crystal (Vis, Firey, Aquatic, Vaporous, Earthen, Tainted). Perhaps the center tower could be themed as a "depleted" Vis Crystal, with many strange things visible inside. One thing that I think would really make your build epic would be if it were actually functional, in addition to good-looking. You know, have some mechanical workings, or EMC grids, etc., and make them look good in conjunction with the overall design. My underground enchantment room is an example of this; it has an EMC 17/5 flower, plus four Mk. III Collectors exclusively for converting charcoal to Aeternalis Fuel, and a full set of brains in jars for the Occultic Enchanter, and yet it actually looks good. I'll get some screenshots next time I'mk down there to show what I mean, but I think that that sort of design philosophy (along with the Harry Potter "obviously supported by magic and yet somehow still realistically feasible" philosophy) would make for an EPIC build. In news for my own world, I still think the Boots of the Meteor are more fun (after all, you're bouncing around rather than just flying), but I will admit that the Hurricane Boots are pretty cool.Additionally, the Gravity Greaves keep causing my Minecraft to crash whenever I use their ability on a MoCreatures mob; that really should be fixed. Also, the texture for the red matter greaves and Gravity Greaves is messed up, it displays over my character's torso and boots, not over the legs like they should be.
  10. ...couldn't you have just as easily used the transmutation tablet to get the items back when you needed them? Or am I misunderstanding how the Gem of Eternal Density works? No, I mean I use that chest to store a "sample" of items I need to duplicate often, to stick into the "target" slot when I put in my Klein Star (otherwise it'll just give you high-EMC items like pedestals and red matter and the like). When the gem ate them all, it would have been a pain to try and get them all back, as many of them have EMC values in common with a LOT of different items (512 EMC seems to be VERY common).
  11. I know that, I mean every time I check your server in my server list, it shows as being offline. I guess you and I have totally different schedules. :PYmper, those are the boots of the Gem Armor, correct? I just recently filled up a second Klein Star Omega, so I'm considering which Gem Armor piece to make. I've been leaning toward the chestplate (so as to have permanent lava immunity without having to have my volcanite ammy in my hotbar), but if the boots are really just as good as the Boots of the Meteor... (the Gem Armor helmet is my last priority, as I'll be using the Goggles of Revealing for a LONG time, as I still have several Thaumcraft projects in the works and the Taint/Vis info granted by the goggles is just too useful to get rid of just yet. EDIT: Graaaaaah hate the Gem of Eternal Density. Accidentally dropped it into my "EMC Targetting" Alchemical Chest, and it ate all my items. Fortunately, I closed out of minecraft without saving and was able to recover (and essentially got "free" EMC to boot, as it saved my inventory but not changes to the chest inventories in the world), but from now on those little buggers are reserved ONLY for normal chests, to prevent a repeat occurance. In other news, I now have 3 fully charged Klein Star Omegas, so I think I'll go ahead and make all pieces of Gem Armor except the helmet.
  12. DDude, y u no have your server on ever? :sadface:In other news, I LOVE boots of the Meteor. Better than Swiftbow's Rending Gale for distance travel, and that's saying something. (Though the Rending Gale IS most useful for preventing fall damage from abuse of said Boots of the Meteor. ) I'm now building some angelic statues to help keep the area around my eldritch obelisk clean, they look awesome and they've more than completely counteracted the Obelisk's Taint influence. :cheers:EDIT: Angelic statues made out of Totems of Dawn, I should have made that clearer. And they're so pretty!
  13. It's not part of vanilla Minecraft, and they're not exactly randomly generated so much as randomly dropped by certain enemies, but Thaumcraft 2 (part of the Technic Pack) has Artifacts that are used for research... ;-)
  14. If/when you figure out the symbols for that, please tell us, it sounds AWESOME.
  15. Yeah, random drop from a Thaumcraft dungeon, found it along with a "strange metal" artifact and a Tome of Eldritch Knowledge (Exceptional Eldritch artifact). With the EMC plugin, I just cloned those and finished off my research, it was the last discovery I needed to make. ;-)
  16. How many activated eldritch mechanisms should I take with me into my first eldritch obelisk? And should I have gem armor first?
  17. 10,000,006What a strange number to have as the maximum capacity of a Mk. III Energy Relay. :PAlso, DDude's server is pretty cool, but it is still in the "just getting started" phase, which likely explains why DDude wants to keep it to a minumum of people, at least for now.
  18. Is Ddude's server online right now, or have you guys found a different home? Also, Thaumcraft IS a part of Tekkit, correct?
  19. For everyone's future reference: One fully charged Klein Star Omega (51,200,000 EMC) is enough to build 2 full 17/5 flowers with just a little under 20,000,000 EMC to spare.EDIT: Here, I'll make it even easier: a full 17/5 lower, fully lit with jack-o-lanterns, costs just 15,531,593 EMC to build, assuming you've made all of the components at least once. ;-)
  20. Actually, my Totems of Dawn seem to be hugely increasing my Vis levels and decreasing my atmospheric Taint levels, but the Silverwood trees I built don't seem to be doing a thing. :wacko:The issue with the tank seems to be that the tank itself seems to have 10 TCB, while the purifiers have only 5 TCB. I'm not sure if that is intended, or if the moderator designer just didn't think things through, but I took my arcane pump and hooked it up to a purifier, and things seem to be slowly getting better now. But GOSH that issue was frustrating--no matter how many purifiers I hooked up to the thing, it just wouldn't drain!
  21. OK, I think I completely misunderstand how advanced vis filters work. Do they, or do they not, work when put in a line? Do they, or do they not, act as normal vis pipes for regular vis, provided there is a device causing suction at the other end of the line?EDIT: More Importantly... I have a tank full of Taunt. HOW THE HECK DO I EMPTY IT USING ADVANCED VIS FILTERS?! AND WHY IS IT DRAWING TAINT AT 10 TCB?!?!
  22. I have two Mark III 17.5 arrays: one above my starter house (which is due for an upgrade once I've worked out some more stuff) and one imbedded in the ceiling of my occultic enchanting room (which reminds me, I haven't harvested that one in like...forever. I probably have a Klein Star Omega's worth of Dark Matter blocks in it by now ).Speaking of my occultic enchanter...it's awesome. It really is. I have a Relic Hunter 2/Looting 2/Ice Aspect I Thaumium sword now. Now I just need some Thaumcraft zombies so I can get Zombie Brains again after I stupidly spent them ALL on brains in jars. >_<
  23. Thus why I love the Thaumium Crucible--can't overflow. ;-) KK, Nitor will be the way to go, then. ;-)
  24. Nono, I mean, I HAVE millions upon millions of EMC, and I need stacks of stuff to turn into Vis. I don't want to make 50 trips back and forth dumping stacks of cobblestone into the crucible for miniscule amounts of vis, I want a stack of stuff I can dump in once and have enough Vis for an in-game week of infusing/enchanting. ;)Also, am I the only person who wishes Endermen could be tamed?
