  1. That's what hacked Pokemon are for. :-PAlso: so THIS is where you've been hiding out! :-D
  2. Perhaps Magnetism Matoran are natural traders who regularly travel between different islands? It would fit well with that "can't get lost" idea you have (which I am definitely implementing within my internal headcanon).
  3. Doesn't that have something to do with the way to evolve-via-trade Pokemon without actually having to give them to someone and then take them back? I.E. Stick a Kadabra on the GTS in trade for something impossible (i.e. Lv. 9 and under Reshiram), come back in a day, and take the Pokemon back, and it'll evolve into Alakazam? It might be a little annoying, but I actually kind of like that feature... :-P
  4. For the record, I was on when the giant sime was spawned, and I told them not to do it. And Nav, can you please check your server blog? Thank you.
  5. Hmm, here's an interesting thought:If High Voltage is right and lava (and other molten substances) can't be directly controlled by elemental powers, there IS another possibility: gravity can sort-of control it. Let me explain:Let's say a fire or plasma toa and an earth or stone toa combine powers, creating lava. (We already know that toa can produce near-infinite streams of their element, so we have a near-infinite source of new lava through combination.) A Toa of Gravity can use their elemental power to move the lava around (i.e. through HV's Question 1 above), and, presumably, a Toa of Ice could solidify the lava once again. If there was a need to create some sort of lava-structure, then another toa of stone or a toa of iron could produce a framework for the structure, and the Toa of Gravity could increase that framework's gravity such that the lava is drawn more to the framework than to the normal source of gravity.Does that make sense, or am I just crazy?
  6. Also note that, since my personal house is an easygoing, back-burner project, I'm currently devoting all of my online time to patch up instances of griefing whenever I find them--currently, I'm working on fixing the TNT damage in the desert near Carthage.I do want to ask--along with virtually EVERYONE else--that Nav post the old world save file somewhere for download. Just for the memories. ;-)Finally, an...IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are storing your items in a chest protected by a [Protection] sign, BE SURE that the sign is on a block that CANNOT be pushed or pulled by pistons. MTM, Unit, and I discovered a rediculously simple method that can be used to break the Protection signs, but putting the signs on unmovable blocks will fix it. ;-)
  7. I don't get why Nav is so unconcerned with this. Then again, they pay for the server hosting or something, so that may be why they get free reign. :-/I will say in favor of Demonbaby that, when he's seriously trying to improve an area, he does a pretty good job. It's not that he's a bad builder, and in chat he seems pretty chill, but I'm just not comfortable with him having moderator powers.
  8. You know, I'd like to see a "what if?" story in which all of these characters did seem to die, and a team of "could have been dead" characters decided to start investigating the cause. I have no idea how it would end, other than the characters (mostly) being alive and somehow returning back to their current "official" status, but still...it would be awesome.
  9. Thirded. He seemed harmless on the server, but he should NOT have moderator powers.
  10. I'm going to go with Multiverse, it'll be worth it, I think.I definitely do NOT think abandoning the old world would be a good idea, though, so my second option is to go back to what we had. ;-)
  11. Greifcrashed. We lost everything, we're rebuilding now.
  12. The server as it was came back, or the rebooted server? Also, did we not have any world backups?
  13. Wow...holy kikanalo.I'll gladly help out with anything needed, but...wow. Can't believe that happened. BZMetru should be in plains; yes, plains are relatively uninteresting, but they're also best for custom builds like cities. Definitely do NOT want it in a snow biome; as much as I love me some snow, I don't like it all over buildings and the like.
  14. Any chance of some impromptu BZPcraft practices so we all don't go crazy during the downtime? (Yes, this is _Flipz_ from the server. ;-) )
  15. I'll cry if I lose all that work I did on Lost Mesa... not to mention all that armor I enchanted... :-( Hope the problem can be fixed soon! On a related note, who do I contact about BZPcraft? And has that been affected by the server outage?
  16. Mostly agreed, but I think the story would have had to have focused on Mata Nui at some point. The big problem with 2009 story was that it didn't focus on Mata Nui at first and completely went off into unknown lands. "Hey, there's these resistance fighters hanging on for their lives against the major bad guy and trying to figure out a way to defeat him, and you're talking about the lives of some people who live in a desert. I guess we needed six months to calm down after that plot twist nearly gave us a heart attack." Have Mata Nui show up first, insert backstory later. Probably would have been better to run the stories of Mata Nui and resistance side-by-side (instead of shoving the resistance off into a serial) and actually have the resistance play a bigger part in defeating Makuta (frying Rahkshi with Mask of Life-given Golden Armor isn't enough, I'm sorry). That's the version of the story that would have catered to the older fans, and that obviously wasn't what they were going for.Actually, there is a simple, easy fix that could have been done along those lines: remember the comic with all of the Bara Magna people reacting to the Ignika crashing down to the planet? 2009 should have started with two pages of that, and then said "Six months earlier..." It would have connected the two storylines together AND teased a bit of the future, while still letting the story flow in a controlled, logical manner, the way it did. And this is the problem of BIONICLE and all other themes with heavy story emphasis: do you stay true to what's good for the story, or do you greedily suck every penny you can out of the franchise? Obviously, LEGO falls into the latter category, but we thought they fell into the former, which is where a lot of the disappointment came from.BIONICLE could have done with a LOT of compression; specifically, 2006 and 2007 should have been a single year, giving more time for the finale. Furthermore, I really wish that the functions and gimmicks of the sets hadn't been pushed so forcefully in the story; specifically, the way that the "hero-side" story was so far removed from the villain-side. I think the storyline should have shown us characters and their storylines even before the sets were available, even if the model had changes made to it before actual release; characters appear off-model in comics all the time, and I don't think the comics were ever marketed as "this is EXACTLY what your toys will look like/can do," so there shouldn't have been issue with it. (In particular, I have in mind the comic from 2008 in which Tahu, Gali, and Onua are conspicuously kept off-frame even though the other Toa Nuva specifically mentioned they were present--it just felt far too forced.)In the end, I do like where the line ended, but I also think we should have been told upfront that it was going to end, a year or so in advance. It's good to see that LEGO has learned from their mistake, though--they've been very open about the end of Ninjago, something I and many other Ninjago fans really appreciate. I only wish that they would have done the same thing for our beloved BIONICLE.
  17. For long-trip passengers it is (and this is why the whole Visorak underwater-chute-travel idea always struck me as odd, unless they're actually amphibious or carried "air bladders" or something). But for cargo it's more practical, and cargo was the most common thing used here. You could hop out at chute stations to catch your breath, or take various other vehicles to get to your destination instead of the chutes.Couldn't it also have been possible for the Visorak to have traveled in large, hollow shipping containers? (Thus providing them with some air, if still a limited supply.)Also, just wondering, could a Toa of Magnetism potentially control the outer walls of a chute with their power? (I.E. to intentionally create a Force Sphere, or to weaken the outer wall of a chute so as to flood an area, or potentially even to defuse a Force Sphere safely?)
  18. That is...surprisingly plausible. Personally, I always thought it had something to do with him inherently having the power of the Kanohi Kualsi--the animation (and sound) in the MNOG is exactly what I always imagined for that mask.Of course, there is one easy (if implausible for other reasons) explanation for this: Kapura is the (hidden) Great Being, who somehow avoided the memory wipe with his GB powers and similarly used those GB powers for teleportation. (Of course, there's a TON of other problems with that, so it's likely not the case.)
  19. I also sort of think of the Rahi as a passive immune system; sure, the job of the Toa was to actively protect the Matoran workers from harm, but they're pretty obviously sentient--if an unwitting intruder was fought off by a Toa, they would know there was other intelligent life out there; Star Trek and other sci-fi shows illustrate the importance of not revealing to undeveloped races the fact that they are not alone in the universe, as it skews their development--usually in ways that are very bad for everyone involved. (In addition, said intruder could potentially break the masquerade that the Toa and Matoran are actually nanotech in a giant robot). On the other hand, vicious, snarling Rahi would be excellent discouragement against said unwitting intruders venturing further inside, and wouldn't have as much of an effect; either the witness is dismissed as crazy, or it's assumed to be a yet-undiscovered animal, or some non-extraterrestrial explanation can be made for it--and as an added bonus, said Rahi (likely) wouldn't be intelligent enough to recognize the implications of said intruder arriving inside the robot.
  20. I really like this idea, though I don't know how necessary it would be to the story. I mean, the important part is that he makes it to these planets undetected; since no one sees him, it's not necessary to know for sure if he flies there in a ball form, or if he flies through space like Superman. (Sort of like the old saying "If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?") Then again, it is a lot of fun seculating. :PThe only downside to this is that the totally epic image of Makuta in the MU-robot launching off of Aqua Magna wouldn't be nearly as awesome if he had to curl up in ball form first.
  21. Well, all volcanic rock is made of at least tiny crystals, and Toa of Stone can control it (once it's solid). Large-scale crystals should probably also count under Stone, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure Greg was asked about this due to the popularity of the suggestion to canonize Crystal as its own element (which was turned down), so an answer should be findable. But we do know exactly how Plasma works, or nearly so. What Greg confirmed to me personally is that Fire is the creation of (unidentified) flammable material plus just enough heat to make it react to the oxygen equivalent (which is probably now oxygen) in air, while Plasma is simply the creation of gasses that need not be flammable -- so could be normal Air for example -- that are superheated so that they turn to the fourth state of matter and give off heat and light without combustion. Now if the gas being given off was flammable by combustion it should react to the probable-oxygen at a lower heat, but Greg confirmed to me that Plasma does not make flames, but it's more like shooting a beam of glowing, superhot gas. So yes, it's Plasma like that in the sun.The one thing we don't know for sure is exactly what the gas is.And the lava thing was answered in more detail in previous posts here, but in short, the superheat part of Plasma would be able to melt existing rock to make, but not control, lava. A combo element of Plasma plus Stone could probably control lava, as well as some other combos (Earth plus Fire for example), but to my knowledge none of these have been directly shown in story with Toa. See previous posts.Ah, that explains a lot, thanks! 5. I imagine it would be something like creating a new star from scratch, or else a letal explosion of plasma that melts everything in the area (user included)--perhaps like what happened to Pahrak-Kal?6. I picture it to be like what happened to Gahlok-Kal: a magnetic field that draws in huge amounts of shrapnel to fly at the target and tear it to shreds.7. Easy: black hole. At the risk of sounding repetitive, Nuhvok-Kal ended via one.8. Perhaps a huge explosion of sound that deafens everyone in the area? There are sonic grenades in the real world--I'd imagine it as an amped-up version of one of them.9. For some reason, I'm picturing an explosion of plant life suddenly springing up around the user, sort of like what the Ignika did to SM at the end of the comics, but on a smaller scale and ONLY for plant life.
  22. Since we're on the subject of Plasma, I'd like to ask: since we don't know for sure exactly how plasma works (i.e. is it true plasma like what the real-world sun is made of, or is it a "cartoonified" version as one person above put it), would it be implausible for a Toa of Plasma to be able to control lava? (Obviously, this would be under a "cartoonified" version of Plasma, real-world plasma is a far different thing than lava.) If not, what kind of Toa could control lava?
  23. For me, I'd go for Calix, Sanok (both of which complement each other well), Matatu (because telekenesis is SO versatile), Kualsi (never walk anywhere again!), and to round out the standard set of six, I'd go with a Mask of Adaption and either a Mask of Biomechanics or a Mask of Sensory Aptitude. If I had to pick just one, I'd probably go with the Mask of Adaption. On a related note, what IS the maximum capacity of a Suva? Do we have a definite answer on that?
  24. Question: is the Bohrok programming contained in the krana, or does it come directly from the Bahrag (i.e. does the Krana act as a mobile processor or just a transmitter/reciever)? If it's the latter, why didn't the Bahrag bring at least some Bohrok with them to SM when they left the MU?Also, do we know if the Bahrag ever created/intend to create new Bohrok-Kal to replace the ones that were destroyed? Why or why not?
  25. The way I'd like to see a Bionicle TV show/revival done would be to follow the "licensed" model rather than the "in-house" model; that is, have the show designed and developed for its own aesthetic, and then have the sets (if any) be based off of them (like, for example, Star Wars: The Clone Wars). This way, the theme and the story (the best parts of Bionicle, in my opinion) would be the central focus, rather than making up new forms of heroes and villians specifically to sell new toys. (Granted, some of that would still happen, but I like to think that with the focus more on story, it would be handled in a more fluid, natural way; the new forms and villains wouldn't have to be shoehorned into the story quite so forcefully.)
