  1. Um, a reference is not a connection. Yes, I'd love to see some of the old villains placed in here, but that doesn't mean they're the exact same villains. I took "connection" to mean any sort of link between gen 1 and 2. Regardless, my opinion is the same. I would like to see anything from vague references to concrete links between the storylines.
  2. 1) I don't see any problems. Yep, Karzahni has nothing to do with the creation of the barrier, and it was created after the sea routes dried up. Perhaps the OoMN created the barrier to stop matoran escaping before they'd been fixed? (or to stop insane matoran from escaping?) Because they were aware of the ineffectiveness of Karzahni's "repairs" and the value of Av-matoran for providing power to the MU, they made it so no beings of light could pass through. This means that no essential Av-matoran could be trapped or misrepaired. 2) Explained in the answer to part 1. Either: The barrier only lets matoran pass through who have been repaired by Karzahni. Jaller and company were given new masks, but perhaps this didn't qualify them as repaired. The OoMN were aware of Karzahni's damage to matoran when repairing them, so they didn't want insane matoran returning to work only to cause more harm than before.
  3. Strong yes. I don't care how subtle or vague the connection is, but I would love to see more references or easter eggs connecting it to gen 1. The fact that there appears to be similarity between the Vahi and the gen 2 Mask of Time intrigues me, and I hope to see some cross time/universe/dimension stuff. It would be cool if the gen 1 Takanuva could pop by during his dimensional travels be once again the 7th Toa. I'm sure they could do it without confusing those who've never heard of gen 1 (the arrival of the 6 Toa on Okoto wasn't exactly well explained, but people got the point, right?) Vezon or Brutaka would be great as well, but it might be little more difficult to do.
  4. This is true- we really don't know much about Aqua Magna. However, in all types of media we see what looks like an Earth-like environment. For instance, the existence of clouds imply an atmosphere similar to ours. We also don't see any strange gravitational effects on any of the characters, assuming that the surface gravity is Earth-like. Really, the Earth is the best approximation we have for this, otherwise it would be anyone's guess what the gravity/atmosphere is. Also, in the last topic we did some calculations to see just how big these planets are, their gravity, etc. based on official artwork (see this and this). These showed that both Aqua Magna and Bara Magna are GIANT. However, they are still able to have Earth-like gravity if they were composed of a very light aerogel-like substance. They would never exist in nature, but still possible. However, we know Aqua Magna is made of water. If we assume it were to have Earth-like gravity, we can calculate its size. g is gravitational acceleration, G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the planet, r is the radius, V is volume, and ρ is density of water. g = G * M * r^-2 g = G * V * ρ * r^-2 g = G * 4 * 3^-1 * π * r^3 * ρ * r^-2 r = 3g / (4πGρ) r = 3 * 9.81 / (4π * 6.67E-11 * 1000) r = 3.51E7 m r = 35,100 km As the Mata Nui robot is "only" 12,200 km tall, it's feasible that it would have been able to lie on the surface of the planet. The angle between its head and its feet would be 0.347 radians or 19.9°. However, this means Barra Magna or Spherus Magna must be huge, which is where the problems with gravity come in. I don't think a planet could be completely composed of water, or could it? Why doesn't the Mata Nui robot just sink to the center of the planet? Is it because he contains an atmosphere, thus functioning like a battle ship? Why does Spherus Magna still exist after the robot's impact? Was the planet always composed of liquid water or was it a gas or solid? I believe 40,000,000 ft. is approximately 12,200 km. You guys really have my brain going now. P.S. How many moons does Spherus Magna have? I observed there are waves on the water. I guess it could also be a close planet. A planet can be made of water for sure, though it may freeze into ice at the centre. The Mata Nui robot is made chambers full of air, I'm pretty sure he would float.

  6. There's no moon to my knowledge, but there were twin "suns" above Metru Nui, which are actually Mata Nui's eyes. I'm not sure whether the red star was visible from within the robot, but definitely on exterior islands like Mata Nui and Voya Nui. My head cannon for why Ko-Metru is colder is that for whatever reason, the robot's heating system is faulty on that part of his head. Whether it's because that part of his "brain" works better at cooler temperatures or the heating system broke, Ko-Matoran naturally preffered to live there. As for weather, I can't think of any instances of dramatically different weather. This makes sense inside the robot, but on exterior islands like Mata Nui (pretty much always sunny there, right?), this doesn't make sense. Perhaps there isn't enough atmosphere or variety of geographical features to create significant changes in weather on Aqua Magna. What doesn't make sense weather-wise is the absense of massive tides on Aqua Magna. Surely by being near to the massively gravitational Barra Magna, it would experience very large tides, flooding Ga-Metru every so often? Aqua Magna not rotating would explain this, but does anyone have any ideas? (as this is related to Soran's question on extreme weather).
  7. You get bored of having the mask. My mask.
  8. I blow up everything (except the mask and I) *clutches the mask in a vast expanse of post-explosion debris My mask.
  9. Really??? I know it would be dead easy to make them all one species, but there are some very clear physical differences between them. Many species are quite variable (humans and dogs are prime examples of that). Even within the mythos, take a look at all the different varieties of Matoran -- they're still all the same species with quite a lot of physical differences. Who's to say that these Dark Hunters haven't had modifications over the years or just that having an extremely variable body shape could just be one of their species's features? Yes, but with your argument we could say that most Dark Hunters are one species, but they were all mutated / shapeshifters / rebuilt differently by kestora. I'd be happy to make them one species if it was known that they were mutated and that's why they look so different, but at the moment we know that TSO has a tail because his species does, and Conjurer doesn't because his species doesn't. There is no evidence that an event caused them to become more different if they were originally the same species.
  10. Tyrant and Ancient are easily the the same species, the only difference between them is that Ancient is a lot bulkier (and we can assume that is natural variation). However, the fact the Shadowed One has a tail and Conjurer doesn't is too much of a difference for me. Also noting the differences in neck, clawed feet, and torso, I feel they're too unique to merged into one race. Hey, even better. Make all four of them the same species. Gen 1 had way too many anyway. Really??? I know it would be dead easy to make them all one species, but there are some very clear physical differences between them.
  11. I seem to recall the Inika were beaten by the Piraka when descending to the chamber of life. It was only because Vezon got there before everyone and beat the Piraka in the chamber of life that the Inika had a chance to regroup. Even then, they only beat Vezon temporarily because of the special zamor Axonn gave them.
  12. It's fair enough to skeptical about them being brothers after the Mata Nui - Makuta business...
  13. I put your brain in a prison cell, without the rest of you. My mask.
  14. I die in an unfortunate incident in the local energised protodermis vat, something to do with the Joker being bored after killing Toa Smoke Monster. I then get taken to the underworld, my sould drenched in EP. Due to the random nature of EP, my soul mutates into a swarm of midget Nui Rama, which then proceed to steal the mask in the confusion. My mask.
  15. I have the Joker joke with you. You die with a smile on your face. My mask.
  16. I don't understand this, can you go into detail? Do they live in other villages or...? And why? I kind of imagine them as the opposite of De-Matoran, thriving on socialisng with others. This is because as matoran of mental energy, they love interacting with other minds.
  17. I throw a sandvich the other way and your hoovy abandons you. I shoot you with hoovy's Natascha. My mask.
  18. The problem is that only the 6 classics lived outside the MU in a natural habitat. But the other elements were to have lived on Mata Nui island, this is what I'd say. Plasma - In areas of unstable natural energy (volcanoes, energised protodermis, gysers). Lightning - Mountain peaks, where lightning is likely to strike, or near the coast. The Green - Swamp, possibly jungle. Gravity - Ravines, underground. Sonics - Somewhere quiet and far away from everyone else, somesort of sheltered valley perhaps, or somehwere snowy. Psionics - Near and among all the other elements. Light - Mountains above clouds. Dark - Caves. Magnetism - Near the poles if they were to exist on Mata Nui. Iron - Desert, wasteland.
  19. They still attempted to leave, effectively betraying the matoran. I was under the impression that all the destruction stuff happened after they tried to leave because of how the paragraph was worded. But yes, it does make more sense that it was what made them try to leave. I think this is what I missed. The Toa Code does state that betrayal is unacceptable, and I assumed this includes abandonment. I guess that you can't expect sentient beings to follow the code at all costs. Did Toa follow it like robots before Velika's enlightenment? Or was it created afterwards, which would explain how Helryx was made before the Code.
  20. Umm... Pretty sure he wasn't... BS01 implies he is very much able and active... "At the Coliseum, Teridax revealed himself to the Toa, enacting his master plan and inciting the Great Cataclysm. Vakama and his team, acting on another one of his visions, rescued six Matoran in pods, and the Toa then decided to journey past the Great Barrier to find a refuge for the rest of the Matoran. However, Teridax pursued them after absorbing his Rahi Nivawk, the Dark Hunters Nidhiki and Krekka, and the power supply of Metru Nui, increasing his size and his power. During the journey, Vakama took the final Great Disks and continued crafting the Kanohi Vahi." I think you're thinking about when they came back to save the rest of the matoran, where he was very much imprisoned.
  21. How would they know there would be Matoran to come back and rescue? I don't think they'd trust Teridax baby-sitting them, assuming they didn't know he planned to keep them alive so he'd have something to rule over. He doesn't need a Kanohi Vahi to hurt them, as you stated. Then again, they were aware that they were being put in spheres, indicating Teridax planned on keeping them alive... And yes, I guess it was unreasonable of them to take all the matoran without knowing where to go. I didn't think they'd have given up on keeping Metru Nui.
  22. I meant kill as in deal with, capture, or otherwise stop. But yes, it is ironic that I accuse them of breaking the Toa Code and then ask why they didn't. The Code does say they must not betray Matoran, and abandoning them counts, I believe. I don't know whether he'd trust a vision telling him to leave the matoran to Teridax. The other visions were usually stuff like seeing a matoran trapped, then going to save them in the real world, or seeing Metru Nui overrun by a plant in the vision, and then killing the plant in the real world (they DID actually kill the Morbuzakh).
  23. I was just reading Vakama's BS01 page, trying to find reasoning behind the Toa Metru leaving Metru Nui. The BS01 page only says "Vakama and his team, acting on another one of his visions, rescued six Matoran in pods, and the Toa then decided to journey past the Great Barrier to find a refuge for the rest of the Matoran." I mean, isn't it against the Toa Code to run from Teridax, knowing that he is imprisoning matoran? Why would they want to find a refuge when Metru Nui is the home of the matoran, and all they've got to do is kill Teridax and wake them up? What exactly was in Vakama's vision that persuaded him to break the Toa Code? Any input is welcome.
  24. They might even just be shock absorbers when it seems unnatural that the limb would move in that direction.
