  1. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam If the fight's end should have brought relief, it largely failed to do so. Kat and Cao had disappeared with their enemies. And Jayar personally felt he had been almost entirely unhelpful in fending them off. Well, it still was time to act, to think. They may not be embroiled in battle at the current moment, but what they did now could be just as crucial to their kidnapped comrades' lives as if they were. "It would be convenient to follow an icy trail," Jayar agreed, kneeling to examine the rocky disturbance at his feet - where the Toa of Ice had stood. "But I'm not sure it will be that easy. Look here - loose soil, uprooted foliage, protruding stones..." he gestured, grim, across the upset patch of ground. "This is recent, and unnatural. Might it be reasonable to conclude that yet another Toa - of Earth, or maybe Stone - withdrew them to beneath our feet?" * * * IC: Thurisaz / Gym Lounging nobly in lionlike laziness, Thurisaz watched the fight with great interest. His expectations were met fully, it was delightfully intense so far - blows dealt and received by both combatants. An anticipatory grin hovered on his face as he awaited each new instant. Tube's moan tore his attention for a moment though, he glanced at his minion with some concern. "You do look somewhat spent," he agreed distractedly, almost missing the telltale signs of his vassal's advancement. "Actually... are you leveling, perhaps?" His excitement and focus surged as he noticed this; the notion of his loyal attendant's power growing was a pleasing one.
  2. Corpus Rahkshi is alive again, consider playing it

  3. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam His watery eyes recovered from the smoke most quickly, and he took in the battlefield for a moment while the rest of him followed: where would he be most needed? Shield, to his credit, seemed to be faring decently against the Toa of the Green. Fang was probably the best person to deal with the Toa of Plasma. Snake, though, looked to be under immediate threat - the icy veins bleeding across his body and misplaced shadow behind him were subtle but clear signs of a stealth attacker, to one paying close attention. He readied his spear. Wounds diminishing, he shot toward the Toa of Ice from behind, then dropped out of flight mode from almost above him him to stab downward with full falling force into where his back must be.
  4. "Eh, maybe we should just let the Brotherhood keep the Avohkii." A Kahgarak
  5. IC: Vlad / Courtyard The glowing Vorahk gave a weak but grateful smile. "Lead zer vay, zen," he said, feeling it was her turn to do so. * * * IC: Gaever / Ruins on the Water Gaever nodded approvingly. "Well done," she told Phantom. "Now let us take it home."
  6. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam It was one thing to prepare to be lit on fire, it was another to actually endure it. Jayar grimaced in pain as plasma and flame lapped at his body and smoke scratched his lungs and eyes, There was small respite in the knowledge that this must be brief: his bonds were burning away with every instant. Just... slightly... longer...! At last he slipped free of the volcanic cocoon! Immediately he shifted into flight mode, coughing and watery-eyed as he moved to hover away from the action (and foliage!) for a moment. All he needed was a moment to recuperate and get his bearings, and then he would rush to his comrades' aid at last. * * * IC: Lucid / Hallway Lucid suddenly had an odd sensation of moving abruptly to the Refectory, but it subsided as quickly as it had begun, leaving her to ponder its meaning. Perhaps, she decided, it was an echo of a reality upon which fate had reneged. In any case, in this reality, she followed Helkyrie to the library.
  7. IC: Lucid / Hallway "Is that necessary?" Lucid asked. "I though a fishing rod was basically just a string with a stick dangling from it." * * * IC: Gaever / Ruins On The Water Gaever was focused mostly on collecting scraps of metal to use as raw material. The broken blade of a sword here, a dented pan there. Occasionally a more lucky find, like a small tray of bolts buried in rubble, or an intact spring. With sufficient skill - and she still believed she had that - these could be reused, reshaped, turned into something else the living could use again. Except for the setting, the search could almost have been relaxing. It wasn't difficult, either; the village had been home to craftsmen, after all, and what few prior scavengers had only been seeking things intact. Soon she believed she had collected supplies sufficient for at least a little while. "I think enough has been procured for the time being," she called over to Phantom. "It should all be brought back to the forge."
  8. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam He was almost out... ...and that was a burst of plasma approaching him, wasn't it. The newest Toa, he realized, must be of plasma. He wasn't going to get free in time to move, so he opted for the next best thing: letting the plasma do it. As best he could, he shifted to position himself the vines between himself and the plasma, brushing what foliage he could behind him. There was little doubt he'd still endure unpleasant burns, but the vines would take far worse and their grip would be burned away.
  9. IC: Lucid / Hallway Lucid shrugged. "Perhaps we should go to the Library. We might find ancient tomes containing arcane spells to ensnare fish." Helkyrie might be noticing now that, for all her kooky wisdom, Lucid was not the best person to ask where to get fishing rods.
  10. IC: Vlad / Courtyard Ugh... refectory slop. For the vampiric Vorahk, a contender for Corpus Rahkshi's cruelest aspect. But, it was necessary for subsistence, and it had been a while since he had 'eaten'... and maybe it would be more tolerable with a friend. "Vould you mind if... I join you?" he asked Garrotte. "I might as vell 'eat' now too..."
  11. IC: Gaever / Ruins on the Water Gaever gazed at the ground for a moment. "We proceed," she decided grimly. "...Everything proceeds," she added, more quietly. The darkest tragedy would have no effect on this uncaring universe. The sun and stars continued their endless cycle oblivious to the oblivion far beneath them. Living things had to try to somehow imitate that easy progress. She turned away, back to her search for supplies. * * * IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam It seemed the vines had ceased to grow and constrict - his allies must have provided a needed distraction. Jayar again intensified his efforts to cut himself free, determined not to miss perhaps his one chance to do so.
  12. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam It rapidly became apparent that waiting was not an option - the vines were not content just to hold him, but began to grow thicker and more numerous. Noting their advance, Jayar began explosively to claw at the tendrils around his arms, hastily slicing through the leafy bonds until he could reach his dagger. That better blade procured - thankfully its small size made it usable despite his constraints - he would redouble his efforts to slash through the grievous greenery towards freedom. With the Toa distracted, perhaps he could make it...
  13. IC: Lucid / Hallway "Don't worry about it, you won't," Lucid assured Helkyrie. "Anyways, where do you think we should look?" * * * IC: Vlad / Courtyard "Er..." Vlad's eyes widened slightly, that sounded surprisingly heartfelt. "Nice people are scattered all over, I guess. On average zer vorst place to look ist probably zer Gym though."
  14. IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room "Not someone you want to meet," Lucid answered.
  15. Out comes an elliptical machine intelligence. It takes over the universe and builds giant ellipses everywhere. In goes a wireless mouse.
  16. He so busy analyzing plot holes in LOMN that he forgets to meet the other Toa in Mangaia, and Makuta defeats them and conquers the universe. Someone opens a bakery in Ta-Wahi.
  17. IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room Lucid nodded acknowledgement of Helkyrie's kind gesture as she walked through the door. "I'm not sure," she mused. "Dervaki probably has at least 23, but I doubt he'd lend them to us."
  18. IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room "I bet that would be nice," Lucid agreed. "Away from both the school and the mainland. Shall we go?"
  19. IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room "Then tea will be followed by fishing," Lucid agreed. She set her empty cup on the table and stood up. "Do you have a place in mind? Somewhere with water might be nice."
  20. IC: Vlad / Courtyard "Vell... ve just vent over it, pretty much," Vlad told Garrotte. "You train or spar in zer gym, get somethink to, er, 'eat,' read a book, sleep, talk vith somevun... fend zem off vhen zey try to kill you or somevun you care about..." He paused. "Or take up a hobby, I guess." * * * IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room Lucid put a hand on Helkyrie's shoulder, smiling with soft sympathy. "Then we may determine a new custom here," she said.
  21. IC: Jayar / Forest of Kaam It was difficult to see what was going on from his position trapped in the canopy: through the leaves he could catch glimpses of the chaos below. Sight insufficient, he added sound, listening intently to the sounds crashing from the forest floor. By a combination of those fleeting glimpses, messy noises, and mere guesswork, he was able to discern some of what was going on. It seemed that... Era?... had been caught up in vines similarly, while Snake and Shield were, thankfully, left free... Why then had Shield fallen frozen to the ground? Jayar had been one mind with Shield - his understanding was swift and harrowing. Confronted with foliage-wielding foe, he would face the specter of his mentor and closest friend. And that would be agony for him. "Shield!" the healer yelled down. "Shield, he's just an imitator! You don't need to fight Root's memory - you need to fight for it!"
  22. IC: Vlad / Courtyard "Vell, now you've seen zer entire school," Vlad said to Garrotte. "Vhat are you goink to do now?" * * * IC: Lucid / Helkyrie's Room "That's a difficult question... there are a lot of things we could do. We could go fishing. We could build a scale model of Metru Nui. We could learn to play exotic instruments. We could invent tennis." Lucid shrugged. "Any number of typical things, really. But what do you normally do with people when they finish their tea?" * * * IC: Thurisaz / Gym "It is indeed!" Thurisaz replied, hushed but almost as excited. The entire tournament had been the build-up to this duel, and this calm parley before the stormy final fight, the fact the fighters were old friends, made the tension all the better. "And I anticipate that it will be the best, as well..."
