I'm still waiting for lego to release the Okoto alphabet on the bionicle website.

OOC: Sorry about my disappearance. I couldn't find any posts relating to Quake (must have looked harder). Anyway so what's going on exactly (at least in terms of what will happen to my character)?

Indeed, it would have been nice to get a few more new molds. I think we're just getting four: -Corrupted Mask of Control -Beast face piece -Beast jaw piece -Spiky armor thing A new weapon mold would have been nice. It would bother me more if there weren't so many sweet re-colors, though. Well I'm hoping that due to less money being spent on the summer wave maybe they'll double the budget for the winter 2017 wave. It would make sense as that's probably going to be presented as the big final battle with Makuta.

The new sets are starting to grow on me but I'm still annoyed by the lack of new molds. I mean come on last summer had a load of new molds but we only get one new armour piece in this wave.

Never thought to have a cel shaded bionicle. It matches the tone a lot better then I thought it would.

At first I thought it was an animation goof but after seeing the tail I think that might not be the case. I believe this may be what happens when he combines with one of the creatures.

Interesting to see they brought back coloured heads. Although this does make me worry we're gonna see half-masks again.

I think the voice in the Umarak video might be actual voice acting from the show (I think it might be one of the protectors). Also is that: Makuta?

From a story perspective I imagine it's simply him upgrading his mask to make it more powerful. Thankfully we should have images of the new sets within the next few hours so then we can talk about these in more detail.

Just collect the three main masks (masks of creation, control, and ultimate power) and maybe the mask of time.

The narrator in last years animations always did his impression of the characters. So that makes me wonder... Is that Tahu's voice?

I still find it disappointing that we get two Umaraks in one year.

You act as if I don't know about these things. I still remember the seeing mask of light for the first time in 2003 and watching it now I can tell you it's an incredibly flawed movie. And do you really expect the animators to go to the effort of showing them creating all the masks they did? I mean it was never specified if they created the masks the matoran wear. And how is the new setup any worse then the early years of the last one. "Mata Nui goes into a coma then these toa appear after they find these magic stones". I mean yeah it was eventually explained but that wasn't till many years later (and they never even intended for it to go that far). And the current figures are getting more complex with each wave. You can't expect lego to just change everything in one wave (at least not without drastically lowering the piece count of the sets) as that would be too expensive.

I'm not gonna claim it's the same as the old bionicle. In fact I will say that the old version is superior to how lego is currently handling the theme. But I wouldn't go as far as to say the current version is "cheap" or "another money grab". Aside from the MNOG the turaga were really quite interchangeable, they were often depicted as the same wise old person. And whilst I won't deny lego haven't done as well when it comes to story telling they do have content out there that shows off Okoto and even the protectors (it's just that you have to go looking for it to find it). And could you please give me examples of how the new story is any worse then the old in terms of how gimmicky they are.

The matoran always had different masks did they? Well then I'm guessing you forgot about the fact that the 2004 matoran all had recoloured versions of the original turaga masks, and how all the rahaga were pretty much recolours of each other (in fact they were even cheaper as they all used rahkshi parts that existed so give 2015 some credit), and how the 2006 matoran all had the same masks as the toa metru (in fact if you think about it the only years that had smaller sets with unique masks were 2001, 2008, and 2009). And how is the story any more gimmicky then last time? You give us no explanation for this. And I'm guessing you haven't heard of the netflix show coming out next month.

Well it is a possibility but I kinda doubt it was intentional as there could have been some copyright issues.

Maybe it's just not a high profile release for them. To be fair though with a lot of TV shows they don't get advertised years in advance like movies do, they often don't get advertised till the release approaches. But even I won't deny this is a little too late to be advertising a show.

IC: Kavok Quake Breathing heavily he clawed at the officers hand before quickly giving up. "One of these you'll regret this. When those "heroes" are killing you to consolidate their power you'll think to yourself, "maybe I shouldn't have followed orders..."

It would make sense for lego to reboot the ninjago series. After what happened with bionicle lego understands that you can't have a story that goes on for a number of years without alienating younger kids. So I wouldn't be surprised if lego did decide to reboot ninjago.

OOC: Not another mess. Well I never specified how long it would take for bombs to explode once the detonator was pressed. But then again the bombs worked like clockwork so I guess it couldn't be that much time. I just can't really think of a solution to the situation as he'll get blown to pieces. Unless someone has a device to stop the signal.

Super-mega power? That is one of the most overblown yet coolest ways to say powerful I've ever heard.
