  1. Hey I noticed a pattern when it comes to the little mini villains that come with the winter sets. They're always based on the faces of the summer wave villains. The skull spiders have obviously got the skeleton look, and the shadow traps have the same kind of mouth and function as this year's villains.
  2. Really liking Makuta's voice (at least I assume it's him). Sounds just like the evil spirit he's supposed to be. Gali.... I'm not too fond of. Seeing as she's wiser I imagine she'd sound older. Maybe I'm just biased towards MOL but I'm kinda mixed towards the voices.
  3. It's not surprising that Bionicle is not in the top 5, since marketing for it has been minimal, to say the least. From the start it was clear that LEGO wasn't pushing G2 to be their #1 theme, unlike G1 back in 2001, when Bionicle was all over the place. That still doesn't mean it's not successful though, and we can't make any conclusions on whether it'll continue past 2017 or not. Although it does mean we can safely say that it won't last as long as G1. I believe G2 will last 5 years personally.
  4. Won't happen. Those films didn't make enough of an impact to warrant an HD re-release. Plus with the rise of online streaming I doubt lego would invest in such a thing.
  5. Well that would just make things even more confusing. Plus there would have to be some kind of plot connecting the two which I doubt Greg will ever write. Plus it would make the fact that G1 never really ended even more annoying.
  6. Someone please upload that to youtube. Here are a few screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/IemmK Aside from that, it's mostly the same footage seen in the previous trailer. Thanks. Nice to see the rest of the planet Okoto is on (I can see some other islands).
  7. Huh. I thought Sccoby Doo (as a Lego theme) was over. I mean there's no more sets this year so I find this strange to say the least. Unless it's gonna return in 2017 but that seems weird on Lego's part seeing that I hear it sold quite well.
  8. The art is still good but man they screwed up Tahu's personality in the comic strip. I really hope that's not how they represent him in other media. He's a hothead not a fun lover.
  9. Well then, looks like someone should submit this to the lost media wiki. This sounds quite interesting and I'm surprised no one has brought it for nearly 20 years. I suggest looking at any archived lego forums from 1998 (assuming there are some) to find some kind of information on it or proof of it's existence. I'll check brickset on the wayback machine. UPDATE: Darn it. Brickset only goes back to 2000.
  10. Well you can't expect lego to hold onto that title forever. Correction. Google will own all!
  11. I'm not sure if it really did effect things all that much. I mean when you look at lego's current trends they don't seem to be as dark as bionicle got. If bionicle really did make that much of an impact I'm sure you'd see a lot more of their themes taking as many liberties as bionicle did.
  12. I really don't like the whole robotic voices thing. I mean they're supposed to be robots that are like humans. I'm not sure what to think of Kopaka's voice. It's deep but not as stern as I'd have liked. I think the voice would suit Onua better. Lewa I actually like. It sounds easy going without making him sound too high pitched (like Berix) or that weird hippy thing they went for in MOL. And Umarak needs to have a deeper voice. Hopefully Makuta's voice will make up for it.
  13. I do wonder how netflix are gonna handle the series they're making. I wonder if they're gonna take cues from the earlier direct-to-DVD films. I also wonder if netflix are picking up the series to appeal to people's nostalgia. I mean they got Peewee Herman and full house so I wonder if they're gonna try and pull off a nostalgia thing with bionicle.
  14. Well so long! I wish you the best in whatever you do in life.
  15. Well the current is actually pretty good when compared to lego's other trends. If you look at lego's other lines they give even less explanation. The current line has got some backstory. Although I don't think it's as good as G1 I'd still like to point out that lego are currently handling it quite well what with how they currently run their themes.
  16. Well no it didn't as G2 is it's own separate thing. It could be confusing to newer fans but to be fair in our reboot driven world I imagine kids today are used to it.
  17. I won't deny it would be pretty cool to see that. Although I'm not sure if it would make me buy nexo knights. I could see a lot of new pieces coming out of this. Like new swords and fire elements.
  18. I've heard so many conflicting reports regarding sales. Though to be fair if the theme is ending that might explain the lack of new molds in the summer wave. I'm pretty sure with the netflix series we can expect to see a 2017 wave as lego is still trying to push G2. However though I'd say the possibility of an end after 2017 is looking increasingly likely. I think the continuation of bionicle G2 (and most likely bionicle as a whole) is dependent on the success of this year.
  19. Whilst it's a cool idea of a story it doesn't seem to play into lego's planned out version of events. For one thing the theme is currently planned up to 2017 which means the final battle (at least in the current story arc) will most likely be then. The idea of Umarak being a matoran is possible. I don't know how the labyrinth of control works but I think it wouldn't be a good idea to have it powered by the mask of control as it was created to keep people away from the MOCR. I mean I don't know if Makuta can still control it but he could have a connection with it. I've heard of the idea that MOUP is conscious but I'm not sure if lego would go that route. I mean Makuta has been built up for a while now so I doubt they'd just throw him out. And hordika whilst not completely out of the question would require a number of new molds that I think current CCBS just couldn't create. I like the idea of that happening but I'm not sure if it could anymore from a cost perspective (things were different back in the mid 2000s). Again I think it's a good idea and I would recommend maybe writing it as a fan fiction but I just don't know if lego would do it with the way they're handling things at the moment.
  20. Highly doubt digimon will ever become a thing. I just don't think it has the popularity it needs.
  21. Whilst many of my pieces from older sets have since cracked I can never say they've cracked in the canister. Either something was wrong with that individual piece when it was manufactured or the piece quality was worse then anyone could have imagined.
  22. From the looks of things it seems like it was handled like regular technic sets. I must admit it would have been interesting to see the slizers go on into a second year. Although I'm not sure if it could have sustained itself that long with a lack of story.
