  1. The trans colors are also shared by the respective toa, not just the protector. I'm assuming this must represent their elemental power.
  2. Thanks for sharing! I wonder if Skull Grinder will take the Mask of Creation from Ekimu, wear it, and become that combiner form. The MoCr looks pretty freaky with red eyes, on such an evil figure. This looks so awesome. I am curious if the combiners will be canon. I hope they are. Kaita-esque skull villains would be pretty sweet. I keep calling the local Lego stores and they still don't have them in as of today. Hoping they get here soon. The anticipation is killing me. I want these sets soooo bad. Skeleton styled bionicle sets just might become some of my favorites reaaaalllllll quick.
  3. Whoa the 70794-70795 combiner looks very very cool. I might have to buy duplicates so i can have one assembled alongside its individual components. The MoC looks very very awesome. I am way hyped to get my own. It definitely challenges the Hau as an iconic mask. I can't wait to read the books and see whats in store for the MoC and all he characters.
  4. Oh man that's cool. Too bad it's In Cali ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  5. Like I said, I am a "collector". I like to refer to myself as a fan more so, but I do collect bionicle and Lego sets. I don't get why you think only select people should be able to buy sealed sets? That seems like some sort of elitism. This is a child's toy.Not sure I follow, I'm no more of a fan of elitism than anyone else but I feel like you think I'm promoting it? If you want to buy and open sealed sets then that's up to you. I'd never tell anyone they're wrong to do it if that's how they choose to enjoy this stuff. As a trader though I like to make my money work for me so I see no point devaluing a set by opening it when it's just as easy to sell that one set sealed and use the proceeds to buy another five sets (including the one you sold) I don't see how anyone loses in that situation. I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong if you disagree, it's just a matter of opinion. Nothing more I didn't sell anything? I bought the combo pack. I usually like to buy things sealed 1 to guarantee the parts are undamaged and the set is complete and 2 because buying used Legos is slightly gross.

  7. Thanks! And I meant a moc with a name and backstory. All the mocs I made when I was younger were nameless with no backstory.
  8. I mean, I consider myself a collector of sorts. Legos are really the only thing I do collect, but they're Legos so I like to open them and put them together. I understand why someone would want sealed sets to leave them sealed, but I don't see what's wrong with opening an older sealed set, especially when I'm an adult who's passionate about this stuff.
  9. There's another one sealed on eBay right now! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=321752839600 I contemplated not opening it, but I really badly wanted to take out the mask and try it on, and since I went that far, I also wanted to assemble the vohtarak. I'm not big on keeping sets I have sealed unless it's a duplicate, and even then I'll usually open them for moc parts.
  10. This one fit on my head. It's not a very comfortable mask to wear, and the eye slots are pretty wide, making it hard to see. But it's does indeed fit on my head.
  11. Keetongu pulverizing sidorak has always been one of my favorite moments, even though sidorak is one of my favorite characters.
  12. Miserix, toa hagah, GSR, and tren krom. And karzahni pre mutation
  13. Oh man this is truly wonderful. Every detail is perfect. And the moc shark is beyond awesome.
  14. That's what I've always thought, but all of the relationships I've been in have been toxic with me being used. They always dump me at bad times too. My first girlfriend dumped me at a dance, and the other after that on our anniversary. Hopefully my luck changes and I can find someone who views things as though we're equals instead of treating me as a slave to her whims.Anyway, that's a quite personal and off-topic matter. I plan on keeping my BIONICLE sets and at some point giving them to my future children. That sucks, well good luck to you. I haven't had a problem with my partners knowing I have Bionicles. They actually ask me to narrate the main story for them too. Not to go even MORE off topic than we already are buuuuuut... I only really make it apparent to my friends that I'm a Bonkle fan, and barely ever mention it around my partners. I actually managed to get my girl into Legos. She's not into bionicle at all really, but she's got all the Disney princess sets, and all our Lego movie sets are split between me and her. She has the guardians of the galaxy sets, and I even got her the ewok village. Including my bionicle collection, which makes up a good portion of this number, we have over 100 Lego sets on display at our place.
  15. Just the other day I found and got this off ebay. I don't remember seeing them around back in 2005. I wonder how common they were? It was sealed but I have since opened it to see the mask and assemble vohtarak. I already have sidorak so I left his box sealed. He came inside his normal box inside this larger box.
  16. From my previous experience with imports, i'll never do it again. Getting anything from europe usually takes a while. I've gotten things from south america very quickly, including bionicle sets off eBay. I've never gotten lego or bionicle sets from europe, but anything else i've gotten has taken a while to get here.
  17. This is first bionicle moc i have made in many years and probably my first attempt at making a "serious" character. Despite the obvious blue pins, which i would like to replace with grey ones someday, I would like to hear what you think! His name is Levva, and he is a toa of air. I have a backstory for him in the works. This is him without holding his weapons, and i kind of prefer this look more so than when he is holding weapons. Now here are some angles of him holding weapons Front: https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xaf1/t51.2885-15/e15/11252230_1651211685109258_1572033245_n.jpg Side: https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xaf1/t51.2885-15/e15/11242407_444750789021071_443144978_n.jpg Rear: https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xaf1/t51.2885-15/e15/11242134_408334962672493_1010777287_n.jpg let me know what you think!
  18. I'm 24 and live in a 3 story condo with my girlfriend. Every room has Legos on display. The living room has most of my bionicle sets. I still play with them everyday. Metru nuju, her favorite guy, actually hangs out on our bedside table. I don't see this changing anytime soon, or ever.
  19. Def the tarakava fight. Gali pulling some ninja moves on essentially huge lilly pads has stuck with me through all these years. It's what made her my favorite toa from 2001. Never really played mnogii. Don't remember anything from it.
  20. There's nothing that I don't like about gen 2. At first, I was a little bummed that the sets used the ccbs system. Now that I've had them for a few months, the system has grown on me and the toa are now some of my favorite bionicle sets of all time. Also LoSS is an awesome set. Haters gonna hate. As far as the story goes, I'm not too worried. For most people, bionicle is a brand new thing. It would be un-wise for lego to go all in for the initial release date. The new audience needs a starting point in order for the story to make sense and be easy to get into. If they released books and comics and everything from day one, it would be too much and would turn people off from it. Starting with simple and easy to understand short animations was a marketing strategy, to try and help rope in the younger audience, WHO ARE LEGOS MAIN AUDIENCE. People here seem to forget that lego is a children's toy. What probably aided in the death of bionicle was the intense story that it became. For fans like us, that story is what helped make it so amazing, and I love the g1 story line. Ultimately, though, this probably made it harder for younger kids to get into it, thus lowering the sales drastically, and thus killing the line. They need to appeal to the new generation. Frankly, I think the amount of similarities between g1 and g2 should be more than enough to keep the g1 diehards happy. We've got our first six heroes back again, we've still got makuta, and now we have ekimu, who could turn out to be the mata nui of g2. Look at how close the stories already are! Like I've said before, lego doesn't owe us anything. If anything, we owe lego for giving us bionicle back, and giving a new story to now learn and fall in love with. I'm incredibly optimistic about where bionicle will go. It will take years and yearsss for it to become as epic as g1 and we're still only in the first few months of the release. Give it time people, and allow this story to unfold, just like we did with g1.
  21. While the Akita were very awesome, I always thought the cow was so sick. Like, it's a cow, with gali hooks on its head.
  22. Mata nui: death by being stepped on
  23. As far as my parents tell me, they got me started on duplo sets when I was a toddler. In the mid-late 90s, I was all about aquazone and the many space themes they had. I definitely had some robo-riders and throwbots. Millennium was my dude. Bionicle must have just been a natural transition. I recently found one of the two tarakavas in an old bin. I forgot I had them. That was my first bionicle set. I got a bunch of the toa mata and mctoran as well that year. Man, bionicle rules so much, and looking back on all these years makes me love it even more.
  24. Yeah either get like a whole wave of toa or villains, or a vehicle set.
