  1. Seeing as the increased limit of images is in kB and not pixel sizes, I guessing that the current restrictions on pixels sizes remain. I personally don't use large images, but I'm sure the fellow members who do will find this to be good news.
  2. My favorite is definitely Benny the 1980's space guy. I like anything related to space, and of course let's not forget his favorite word: "SPACESHIP!"
  3. I think we can all agree that, outside the story, the reason for the change in name was to avoid the spoiler at the time that Takua becomes the Toa of Light instead of simply finding him. Within the storyline, however, it wasn't really explained very clearly. The best we can do is come up with our own interpretations for why Takua decided to change his name upon becoming a Toa. At this time, I think the reason just explained by Bonesiii makes the most sense to me.
  4. For anyone who hasn't heard yet, the Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks movie will start showing in certain theaters in late September, and will become available on DVD in late October just one month later. I personally don't go to theaters to watch anything (except the LEGO Movie), but at least it's nice to know that we don't have to wait much longer now.
  5. Ah, now I see. Thanks to those screenshots, I can now see that what I thought were resources were actually terrain features like mountains, swamps, and atolls. Now I have a very good idea of what the map is actually like at this stage of progress. The only thing I think should be changed is have the Onu-Wahi region be mostly plains instead of desert, just to help show that it's different from Po-Wahi. Other than that, this map looks really nice. (Just don't expect me to download this map anytime soon. Like I said, I typically don't download any mods.) EDIT: When I logged onto Steam yesterday, I actually noticed this map as the featured mod on the Civ V page, so congrats on that.
  6. Wow, that's really impressive! A few years ago, I took a class on CAD (computer aided design) where we had access to a 3D printer that made small models out of corn starch. I used that to print out a Nuva Cube of my own at one square inch, though I decided to leave it uncolored. In addition to that, I also have a replica of the Mask of Life (specifically the one from the 2009 Mata Nui set). The teacher was so impressed by the level of detail that I put into the design that he decided to print multiple copies of it: I kept the full-scale copy, a double-scale copy was kept in the classroom for future students to see, and he kept a third that was between the two in size. To this day, both of those 3D printed items of mine are still stored in a drawer in my desk. (I can't share any pictures at this time, as I currently lack the ability to take pictures and post them online.) Still, this type of 3D printed model is very impressive. How long did it take to make (both the designing and the actually printing)?
  7. As someone who's been playing a lot of Civ V, I'm definitely interested in this kind of project. Even though I typically don't download any mods, I have to say this looks pretty good. Of course, that one image only shows the overall shape and type of land on the map (and at this scale, I honestly have a hard time identifying what resources you put in certain places), so I would be interested in some of those screenshots to see what it's like on a more detailed level.
  8. For me, the only times I've every really disassembled any of my sets were when I had to clean some dust off of them. In 2007, I had heard about how all of the lime green pieces made that year were of poor quality due to a faulty batch of plastic. I heeded this advice and simply left all of the ball and socket connections on my Hahli Mahri set together when I cleaned it (everything else that went on by pins and axles was still okay to take apart). But when I got to the 2008 sets, I never heard about any such warnings, so I had to find out about their brittleness the hard way. I had started with the six Matoran sets, and while many of the sockets seemed fine, quite a few of them did fracture. When I moved on to the six Makuta sets, I thought that by moving the joint around a bit (and thus get a little heat from friction) would make them less prone to breaking on separation, but that apparently made no difference. So, with just about every Bionicle set from that point on (starting with the six Toa sets of 2008), I pretty much repeated what I had done with that Hahli set. It's been a while since I last checked on them, but when I last put them away, the joints still seemed to be relatively okay, so long as I made no attempt to separate the parts.
  9. The LEGO Movie (My parents got me the DVD last week, and it was only recently that I got a chance to watch it.)
  10. As soon as I started watching the first episode, I was kinda surprised that it was only around 20 minutes long, while I recall spending about 45 minutes to typically get through that first level. I quickly figured out that it was because he pretty much rushed through all of the important places, while I always took the time to destroy every destroyable object and collect every single Lego piece I could get my hands on. I have not yet seen the second episode that just went up recently, but after quickly checking the title, I can see that he has chosen to next do the first level of a different region. I always preferred to complete all four levels within a region before moving on to a new one, but that's my preferences. This is his series, so he's free to do things his way.
  11. Even though I've been visiting practically every day for the last two years now, I almost never post outside of COT. One major reason for this is because I'm very curious about what the post count range is for each member title and accompanying image. Since the mods and admins refuse to tell anyone about that detail, my only option is with brute force, by literally recording the ranks and images I've reached so far, and at what numbers for each of them. Of course, the images are available only to Premier Members, and I currently lack the means to become one, so that means the only way for me to know for sure the range for each rank image is to post only during the week of BZPower's anniversary, to take advantage of those Premier Perks. Say what you want, but those are my reasons for rarely ever posting on this site.
  12. That fanfiction I've been writing over at FiMFiction.net has been getting rather popular lately. So much that, for a few hours after I add a new chapter, it actually gets featured on the main page! If anyone is interested in reading what I've got so far, I posted the link a few pages back. At the rate I'm going, I hope to have this story completed by the end of August.
  13. No new episode this week, just to let everyone know. (probably should have mentioned this earlier, oh well) I've enjoyed the entire series so far, and I'm definitely looking forward to the two more episodes left to go.
  14. Still playing Civilization V here. I'm hoping to finally purchase the first expansion pack, Gods & Kings, sometime later this month.
  15. I never saw the original series from 1980 (mostly because that was ten years before I was even born), but I do happen to have the book that went with it, so I've been reading that to help give me an idea of what to expect with the rebooted series. I've seen all three episodes that have already aired, and will definitely be watching the new one that will be on in a few hours, so it's definitely a show I'm very interested in.
  16. Last night, I watched the first episode of the new Cosmos series. I found it to be very interesting.
  17. Batman's song from The LEGO Movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqv_LUStxDw Those lyrics are just so funny!
  18. Cosmos, by Carl Sagan. Yes, he wrote a book based on the TV series he made in 1980. With the upcoming reboot to the series, I decided to find out more about the classic series, and since I don't know where to look to watch it, I figured reading about it in a book that I conveniently have laying around would be my best option.
  19. I'm glad to see they're already serious on finding an ultimate replacement for a petroleum-based plastic, especially to ensure that the replacement material will be at just as high of quality. By starting the research now rather than waiting until the cost of ABS starts to become an issue means that when the time ultimately comes to make the switch, they will have done their homework and have little or no trouble as they continue making new bricks and pieces for a very long time.
  20. If anyone here is interested, I recently started writing my own My Little Pony fanfiction over on FiMFiction.net. Considering the focus of this forum, I'm sure a lot of you may find it interesting. LEGO Equestria Girls http://www.fimfiction.net/story/166077/lego-equestria-girls
  21. That battle game engine looks quite interesting (and complicated). Is this going to be for just the next chapter, or will we be seeing it many times from this point on?
  22. I recommend getting the DVD sets. I only have the Season 1 set, from eBay for $30.00. I highly recommend it; the bonus commentaries (featured for six episodes) are worth it. Also, welcome to the string (technical term for a group of ponies, not herd)! I'm not interested in purchasing anything for the foreseeable future. Let's just say I'm not quite ready yet to tell my family about my interest in this show. But I will say this: If I ever do get the opportunity to purchase anything related to MLP:FiM, the DVD sets would definitely be my number one choice.
  23. A few weeks ago, I finally decided to take the opportunity to watch this entire series. I've been interested for about a year now, but never got around to even watching a single episode. But now, ahead of season 4, I've been watching every single episode, one per day (three times each day). As of today, I have now seen all of the first two seasons (and I can now confirm for myself that Shining Armor really does sound like Jaller. Not exactly, but very close.). All I have left to watch is the 13 episodes of season 3. The reason I had waited so long to watch this show is because I'm a completionist when it comes to shows I like; If I'm going to watch one episode, then I must watch them all. I knew each episode could be found on YouTube, but rumors of take-downs made me worried a few episodes would been missing and I would have no way of seeing them. While this has turned out to be partially true, it seems the show is popular enough that there's always a different user uploading the entire series every month or two. I'm so glad I finally decided to take this opportunity. I had already read the transcripts and seen pictures, but actually watching the show, and hearing the music and voices, has really given me a complete picture of why MLP:FiM is so popular.
  24. This has been a great story so far. I was quite surprised by Zatktan's death. Likewise for Vezok and (presumably) the other Piraka, though I was disappointed you included Vezon too. I was kinda hoping to see more of him later on. Oh well. So it looks like Macku will be the one to hold the Mask of Life. I wonder what will ultimately happen... Can't wait to see what's coming up in the next part.
  25. Being a frequent visitor but very infrequent poster, I personally didn't lose much from this incident (only like two posts from COT). As bad as things are, they could've been a lot worse. May I make a minor suggestion? The default "expiration" for topics is 60 days, but that is almost exactly how much data was lost, which means that the default setting leaves us with virtually nothing to see. My suggestion is to temporarily double that limit to 120 days, at least for the next two months until we've closed the gap, so to speak. Would this sound like a good idea?
