  1. OOC: The Miru cancels the effects of gravity to a certain extent, allowing yourself to slow a fall and stay in midair. You can propel yourself a distance by kicking off from the ground or a wall or something, but since you're not in space friction will quickly slow you down again. IC (Madrihk): The Toa of Ice frowned. They definitely had enough money to buy a canoe, but just one wouldn't hold them all and it was not advisable to set out to sea in such small vessels. After a bit of quick thinking, he said: "We'll buy two of those big canoes. Each seems to be able to hold about three persons. Now, I know canoes won't work at sea or in the case of a Tarakava attack, but here's the deal: Vompran, you will string the canoes together with some of your vines. Make it nice and tight. That should be able to hold us all as well as being sturdy enough to get us to Xa-Koro."
  2. I've never actually tasted "true" Chinese food, so I wouldn't know. I love me some kebab, though! TPBM likes the sci-fi genre.
  3. This Gamzee guy is obviously insane. But as far as insane creepy plans goes, I'm not impressed.
  4. Yes, but I would advice against actually using those sub-powers extensively (or at all, if you can avoid it).
  5. Given that the Quake Breaker isn't used for hitting per se, I'll probably make it work like this: A regular hit does melee damage, possibly slightly less.Activating it starts the chainsaw part. This deals a set amount of (high) damage not reliant on user stats.
  6. IC (Madrihk): "Pooling resources seems like the best thing to do, yes." Madrihk added his own widgets to the collective. "I won't ask for more than any of us can give, though, Voriki, so you don't have to give it all up; but if we're lucky this trip will end in some profit, so it might very well be that you get your widgets back soon." The group was walking along the shore, getting suspicious glares from the Matoran. Evidently there had been theft before, or perhaps they recognized that there was something off about them. Madrihk knew some people could tell who spelled bad news from a glance. Himself he wasn't really worried about, given that he hadn't done anything even remotely evil near Le-Koro yet. The newcomer, however: Voriki... Madrihk wasn't sure, but he got the feeling that the guy was a lot less idealistic than the rest of his current crew. He's a nuisance now, Madrihk thought, but he might become very useful later. I need to find out more about him...
  7. OOC: The full guard should already on the field. There is a fight, and they exist to uphold the law and protect Ta-Koro. I'm not sure why everyone is ignoring the surely dozens of Matoran trying to spear them in the back, but I guess it's because they are NPCs. IC: Mevi looked around for an approaching medic, but couldn't see any. She looked back down at Tarotrix's wound and cursed. It was somewhat cauterized, but still bleeding. She cursed. "Where is that medic!?" she screamed.
  8. Moving wouldn't be a problem. You go up and down rather slowly, and just look at how Teleportation works. Firing off a shot takes barely a second, so you wouldn't even lose that much speed. Regarding the Quake Breaker: I will buff and nerf as needed. bulik's got a point in that no player will run into it on purpose, but on the other hand it still does massive damage and may turn out to be utterly overpowered after all. We'll see.
  9. No, he assumed she were a different species altogether. Who wouldn't? Toa usually don't have tails. By the way: This whole Ta-Koro fight is off the rails. And to whomever did it: Stop bickering about god-modding and either stop the fight until you resolve it or let it slide for now. It was just a darn tackle, it's not even harmful and easily countered. If everyone is going to say "OK" to even non-damaging hits we won't get anywhere at all. By the way: Obnoxiously large text is not needed and would, if done in real life via the equivalent screaming, net you a well-deserved kick to the face. That said, there are so many participants right now doing different things that I'm not sure what's what anymore. The whole battle is a mess, since everyone really needs to take in everything that's happening on the field, but that's hard in text format and especially when people update infrequently. Which is why I've had Mevi just kind of step out.
  10. You would have no way of knowing, would you? Technically, I can't even lie when you don't give me a question to answer in the first place. The person below me has been a registered user on this site for more than three years.
  11. IC: "I very much doubt that," Madrihk said. "As far as I know Lewa landed by the coast. He wasn't washed up the river. The Matoran probably dragged the canister here for some inane reason." He pointed at a few canoes at the edge of the water. A few Matoran were lingering about the area. "Let's see if they haven't got anything bigger for us," he said, strolling towards them and waving for the rest to follow. OOC: Lake Kanae is located pretty much next to Le-Koro. The giant trees that make up the village grow in and around it. It's in the middle of the region, is what I'm saying. The plan was to get a boat, then travel along the river to the coast, then to Kumu Islets.
  12. Blue streak speeds by!Sonic the Hedgehog!Too fast for the naked eye!Sonic the Hedgehog! Sonic, he can really moveSonic, he got an attitude!Sonic, he's the fastest thing aliii-iiiive!
  13. IC (Madrihk): "All righty then, let's take stroll down to Lake Kanae." OOC: Everyone in the Squad, we will now be at the lake.
  14. Nope. I did try to sell a home-made "newspaper", though. It went as well as you could expect. The person below me doesn't know how to dance but still does... at least when alone.
  15. RARGHABLAG-- No. I am still very much alive. Sorry to disappoint. The poster below me knows how to cook... SWEDISH STYLE!
  16. I recognize the style as Homestuck, but I have no idea who the character is. I do know that he seems to have an acute case of color displacement with a sprinkle of compression artifacts.
  17. The raccoon is cute, but I hate those sig fads with a passion. Sorry about that, but every time I see one, especially one with an attention-drawing font, I want to print out the words, track down the owner and then force him to eat them. No salt. ... And no offense, I hope.
  18. IC: "Indeed. We need more people, but it doesn't seem like there are any more willing participants in this village. Kumu Islets may be a rough place, but I'm sure we can find some good warriors in Xa-Koro. If not, we'll just stock up and get out of there ASAP." Madrihk checked his own equipment. His blade didn't need to be very sharp given that it was made for hacking and not slashing, but the spike attached to his left wrist needed some work. The liquid on it had dried, but it would still have an effect on lesser beings. He silently checked his bag, ensuring that the small bottle of Lehrak poision was still there. It was, along with his writing implements and some widgets. "All right," he said. "I think it's time for us to leave, then. We can get a boat by Lake Kanae, right? No point in walking all the way to the coast..."
  19. The problem with doing this is that flying then becomes even more useful than it already is. I might end up letting you aim slightly up and down (say, 30 degrees) but not more than that. You're actually not that far off, bulik. I'm pretty sure the Cordak Blaster will feel like the Iron primary when I'm done. The rockets will have longer range and cause mini-explosions, as you say. Obviously such a powerful weapon can't be too durable, but just lowering its item HP seems bad to me. Getting hit would then waste a lot of your ammo due to weapon wear. Therefore, I'm most likely going to introduce specific ammo for certain weapons. If it runs out, you're left with a slow "melee" weapon. You could get more ammo by picking up a dropped weapon of the same type. However: In hand: 50 HP Cordak, 2 ammoOn ground: 23 HP Cordak, 12 ammo After pickup: 50 HP Cordak, 14 ammoOn ground: 23 HP Cordak, no ammo There would be a max amount of ammo you could carry.
  20. I find it kinda meh. The boss was interesting, but I don't like that they are piling all this wizardry stuff into TF2. It started out a lot more "spytech" than it is now. I found the Horsemann a lot more interesting as a boss, since he would come after you, on the ground, with a big friggin' axe and chop your head off. This new boss is basically just a floating eye with slow-moving rockets. The map is also too small to allow both boss-fighting and player-fighting at the same time, especially with all the uber-crit boosts flying around. It's mayhem, pure and simple. If you are close to he boss, you will either be gibbed or sent to the underworld. The underworld is an interesting concept, but it's basically just a linear path where you take constant damage on top of everyone trying to kill each other. I see players agreeing not to do this (even got kicked from a server for pushing someone into the water) but that means everyone get uber-crits. So I'm fine with people murdering each other in the regular portal. When the boss dies, it's nice to see (mostly) everyone agree on a cease-fire so that everyone can get into the red portal. Again, the skull area and the book is interesting, but the reward is kinda meh. Fancy gibs, really. I would have liked a random Halloween-costume piece instead. As it is, everyone grabs the gifts that drop without me ever seeing one, and once you've beaten the boss once there's no real reason to keep playing on the map. It becomes a crit-spam fest immediately. They also spam ghosts, which, again, is very annoying on such a small map. At least I got the Fallen Angel wings from the single-use cauldron everyone gets, and that was one of my most wanted Halloween items. I don't care about the devil horns or the cardboard robot suit or the Frankenstein outfit, but the wings are nice. That said, I almost feel "done" about TF2 Halloween 2011 already. I think I'll play on Mann Manor instead. Unless I feel the need to get the fly costume for Engineer, because the high-pitched voice that results in is almost too hilarious to pass up.
  21. OOC: I'm going to assume you were still carrying the bag mentioned in your character's profile. IC: Mevi saw that the fight had finally turned in their favor... somewhat. The crystal-flinging Toa was now fighting alongside the guard, and several people had ganged up on the infected Toa. Being free of the chaos for a moment, Mevi quickly scanned the scene. More reinforcements were arriving. That was good. Tarotrix was... bleeding to death. Not good! "Taro!" she shouted, running over to him. He was seemingly struggling to stay conscious. Nearly panicking, Mevi fumbled after something to use to stop the bleeding. She spotted the soldier's bag and carelessly emptied its contents onto the stone ground. The dim light of a discarded Lightstone illuminated her as she then curled up the cloth and pushed it into the large gash in Tarotrix's shoulder. He hissed in pain and looked close to blacking out. "Hey, stay with us! You're gonna make it, don't worry! I've almost stopped the bleeding, look!" Mevi looked down herself and saw that the bag was already soaked. The liquid was seeping between her fingers, showing no sign of stopping. "On the other hand, don't look. In fact, it might better for you to black out right now." With no further warning, she grabbed a Heatstone from Tarotrix's belongings, removed the bloodied cloth and then shoved the tip of the crystal into the wound. There came another hiss, this time from flesh being seared. Hopefully, the heat would cauterize the wound. If not, Mevi would just have made it worse. "Help," she whimpered, even though she knew everyone else had their hands full. "Medic!"
  22. OOC: You should probably have given me time to respond in the middle of that post, but at least you guessed my response correctly. IC (Mevi): "Mata Nui, what's the matter with you?" Mevi spat as she felt herself being forced into a choke-hold. A bladed choke-hold. Not the most pleasant of choke-holds, and they weren't pleasant to begin with. "I already told you that if you want to speak with the Turaga this is not the way to go! Even if I told the guards to stand down I doubt they would listen at this point. This goes far beyond mere mischief, and if you hadn't noticed we also have an infected, cannibalistic pyromaniac on our hands right now! So if you would just put yourself in our shoes, I hope you see why we really, really don't want to bring the Turaga into this!" Mevi gently tried to push a blade away from her throat, but stopped when she realized it didn't work. "Say, I get the feeling that you aren't really related to him, so if you would help us take those two out we can probably spin a story about you attacking the wrong side by mistake due to arriving late in the battle. Turaga Vakama might be willing to see you then."
  23. OOC: If there are any good-aligned Toa in the area, I highly recommend that you get to the gates and help stop the fighting. You would have heard the alarm being sounded. IC: A bright light fell across the field, reflected via crystals from the lava below. Mevi held her hand up to shield her eyes, making her notice a shield-bearing guard waving for her. They huddled up behind it, using it as a screen to protected themselves from the light. With spears poking out on both sides and using the crystal wall as a guide, they carefully stepped towards the Toa. "If we can push her back," Mevi said, "she will be forced out of the fortress, at least."
  24. Because Cyrax had a hostage and Lost wasn't wielding a weapon yet, but Twiak was in middle of some friggin' cannibalistic murder. That's why, of course. Although Cyrax is shaping up to get some smack-down pretty soon as well. Lowering your weapons doesn't really work as a sign of peace when you then just continue fighting the law enforcement in the area. Also: Do you really think the police would let a madman speak personally with an important person that they are always trying to protect? This won't end well...
